We stay at the Sheraton Carlsbad at least twice a year 3-4 nights in a row and it is always a treat to have Henry as our server at 7Mile. He is an absolute pleasure even when all the tables are full at peak breakfast time, he anticipates our needs, and truly understands what superior service is. He's so smiley and happy to be there which then resonates with the rest of the diners and service team. The menus are above average and a seasonal shake up would be welcomed but overall, happiness could be found by everyone. When we have so many choices of places to stay all around the SD area, it's people like Henry who make paying the extra amount per night so worth it. read more

This is a beautiful restaurant. It's at the top of the hill where Lego Land is. It is a nice restaurant for being a hotel place. My friend had the cheese burger and liked it. I had the BLAT (a BLT plus avocado). It was just OK. There definitely should have been more bacon. There was so little bacon that I took what was on one half of the sandwich and added it to the other half and only ate that half. What can I say? I realize hotels are different from stand alone restaurants. For hotels, the restaurants are not the reason people select them. I live close to 7 Mile and had to it just to see. There are too many great restaurants in this area to give it another chance. read more

This restaurant had been on my radar for a while and some friends and I decided to do Easter brunch here. Unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired. The service was extremely slow and we actually ended up getting our entrées before our drinks. I asked our server, the bartender, and the manager what the status was of our drinks and it ended up taking 25 minutes to get the first round. The food was very mid as well. The only reason I wouldn't give it a one star is because the server was very nice and the staff was very apologetic. Will definitely not be returning though. read more

The food here was good! The stars of the meal were the kids meals, actually, with a delicious burger and cheese pizza that my daughter said was the best she's had. The adults shared a salad and a truffle pizza. While I didn't taste any truffle oil, the pizza still had good flavor. read more

We checked in at the sheraton hotel on a sunday afternoon and we walked around the property later that day. When we passed a server greeted us and welcomed us even though we were just passing by. We had breakfast here the next day, the host which also looked like he was the morning manager looked like he did not enjoy working there. Around 8:30 am, no greeting, no smiles, nothing. We got seated and our server was the same man that was all smiles to us the day before, and it was Robert. He made the difference that morning. Anyway, breakfast selection was good. Returned for dinner and breakfast after staying here a couple years back. Didn't want to go too far for a meal after a long day at legoland? 7 mile kitchen is a decent choice. We were hungry after a long drive and then checking into our rooms at Marbrisa Resort. The concierge had already recommended the 7 Mile Kitchen to us, and we made a quick trip up the hill and found ample parking. It was almost 5 pm, and we entered 7 Mile Kitchen, which was empty. Staff member Edgar was at the helm, and he seated us in the dining area near the entrance to the Sheraton Hotel. He also advised that although the menu showed many selections, some are not available until after 5 pm. Apparantly, we came during a lull after lunch and before the dinner hour. As we watched other staff arrive and more patrons get seated, it was time to make our dining order. It was kind of funny after waiting till 5 pm, no one made the pizza we waited for a choice. Instead, the Mac burger and the cheeseburgers and grilled chicken were ordered. This 7 Mile Kitchen is nicely furnished and decorated, and yes, it exhumed a more upbeat bar area and upscale kitchen fare. The food was presented, and it looked delicious. I recommend ordering tater tots rather than French fries. We were hungry for sure as each morsel of the hamburgers was finished up with a grin. A big bill after dinner was eased somewhat by the 15% Mabrisa guest discount. 7 Mile Kitchen was otherwise a very convenient family dining place. Maybe breakfast?? read more

Nothing but great reviews for 7mile, as they saved us on a couple of occasions! We were staying at the Westin but the pool was closed so everyone had to head over to the Sheraton. The kitchen was slammed due to all the people coming over for dinner since no one could use the pool. They did give us a head's up that the food was going to take forever, but it took almost 1.5 hours to get our dinner (including 4 young children, so you can imagine the hunger). However, they provided hot cocoa for the kids which they loved and enjoyed while watching the pool movie. Honestly, a sincerely apologetic attitude goes a long way! (Way nicer than the Westin snobby people at 20/Twenty.) Then the next morning, 20/Twenty at Westin was so overwhelmed by people that they basically shooed us away. We had a party of 7 people which absolutely shook up the hostess at 20/Twenty, I don't think they are as experienced. The 20/Twenty dining room was not even full but they heavily implied that we should go elsewhere. When we went to 7mile, they helped us get seated right away and provided quick and excellent service! I saw more large groups coming in, probably from the Westin, and they didn't make a big stink of it at all. Wow, This place is FIRE. You better come here with a big appetite. The food portions here are huge. We ordered a Sweet Sausage Pizza which sound good and interesting to me. We were greeted and seated, and i ordered the pizza and some guys wanted burgers. They have a variety of different meals on the menu. Love the vibe here. Not too far from the beach . Service was a little slow but realized one young man was taking care of the whole patio by himself. The kitchen brought out the wrong food (we ordered the whipped feta and loaded brisket fries). They brought out steak frites (really good but fries cold). The whipped feta was good and refreshing. The loaded brisket fries were initially good but seemed to have fake/canned cheese. Going through my unfinished reviews, I'm ashamed to admit that there are quite a few in the queue that have sat there languishing for sometime. 7 Mile Kitchen here, for example, we ate at over three years ago and I've just been sitting on my notes for it ever since. Which is a shame, because we had quite a good experience on our visit. Now, I'm not sure why I decided that I wanted to go to a hotel restaurant at the time. I imagine that I was looking for somewhere with 4+ stars to meet my father and this place stood out among the other Yelp reviews. Sitting down, we had our pick of spots, as there is a large interior dining room, along with where we chose, by the outside bar on the patio overlooking the pool. On a gorgeous afternoon in Southern California, it doesn't really get much more peaceful and enjoyable as that. We started with the Tater Tot Poutine. Perfectly fried to a nice crispiness before being coated in rich curds and salty gravy. Normally you would have to wrap something in bacon and serve it with a side of sausage gravy to make it this tasty. And I don't care how old you are, when tater tots are cooked this well, you can easily enjoy them. Also as an appetizer was some Fried Pizza Dough, which was about what you'd expect. The bread itself was okay, mainly serving as a way to enjoy the Garlic Oil served alongside. I chose the Wild "Shroom" Pizza, a delicious blend of salty prosciutto, earthy mushrooms and cream sauce, and topped with that peppery tinge of arugula. It was a big hit around the table. My wife selected the Steak Frites, which came with Shoestring Fries and an Arugula Salad. She disliked the steak itself, finding the herb sauce it was basted in a bit overwhelming (she's always been a butter and salt only kind of steak eater). But, the fries were still well cooked and arugula is always a plus. Our son had the BBQ Smoked Wings, which he devoured pretty handily. I think he would have preferred them in Buffalo Sauce, but he has yet to meet a wing he didn't like. All in all, a pretty excellent meal enjoyed in a very nice atmosphere. I'm not sure if 7 Mile Kitchen is really a place to add to the list of our standard go-to's, driving out to a hotel for dinner is not usually something you'd think of doing regularly. Still, with the food as good as it was and the atmosphere as pleasant as we found it, it does warrant a return trip and given that chance. read more
