I had an excellent experience at 786 Degrees Pizza. On Carlos's recommendation, we ordered the Tikka Masala Pizza and the Habibi Pizza, and both were absolutely outstanding. The brick oven gave the pizzas a perfectly toasted crust with just the right amount of char, and the dough had an incredible texture and flavor that really set them apart. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Carlos was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience even better. He recommended both pizzas, and his suggestions were spot on. I was also impressed that it only took about three minutes for him to make our pizzas. The combination of amazing food, fast service, and great customer service made this a memorable visit. I'll definitely be coming back!

Yum! Great flavor but what really surprised me was how yummy the crust was! I normally don't like crust and don't eat it but this crust was so perfectly crisp and light. Combined with the great toppings and sauce? So great. Server was really nice and gave us complimentary drinks b/c it was our first time. There's some chill outdoor seating w/ those old school circle benches like from school. Need to come back immediately to try the other pizzas!

This place is definitely a mom and pop hidden gem in Sunland, CA. It's tucked away in a small plaza with its own self-parking parking lot. I must say that it's one of the best pizzerias that I have been to in such a long time. Definitely not your traditional pizzas, but more with true whole flavors. Its specialized gourmet pizzas and being cooked in a wood burning oven even better. There is seating inside as well as outside. They are also located across the street to the public park. I was invited here by one of my friends. She's gluten free and I have been wanting to try it for some time. She invited me to meet up here. I must say it's definitely a location to try and keep saved. Trying out the Gluten Free pizza was amazing. The pizza was so full of flavor that the dough itself I couldn't even taste the difference to regular pizza. Oscar helped us out. He was great at explaining everything that goes on the pizza. He was knowledgeable, attentive, and made sure that we were fully satisfied with our choices of pizzas. The vibe is cozy, casual, and they are very welcoming - especially if it's your first time there. Being my first time here, Oscar made me feel as if I hadn't been here in a while and gave me a feeling like I was missed. They use ingredients that are imported from Italy. They have several culinary awards and recognitions from ABC 7, Food Network, International Pizza Championship - Parma Italy to name a few and others. I tried That's A'More (Classic Pistachio Pesto - Bianca) Pistachio pesto, buttery creamy cheese, fontina, fresh mozzarella, napoli sea salt, extra virgin olive oil, seasoned with oregano, thyme, and rosemary. I added garlic chicken. My friend ordered the Gluten Free All Fired Up! Smokey beef spicy pizza house made with BBQ sauce, hand crushed san marzano tomatoes, sweet peppers, onions, mozzarella, olive oil, and himalayan salt. Next time, I'll have to try the Tuscany and Bombay Tikka Masala. To my surprise, they are very flexible/accommodating for Vegan/Gluten Free crust options. They also have standard Halal meats. Overall, I can't wait to come back. This place is worth every cent!

Small little nook. Pizza was good. There is seating inside and some tables outside. It's very warm inside the dining area due to the viewable oven pit oven. Cashier said the pit is made from volcano ashes from Italy . There is no restroom available or kids high chairs. You cannot custom a pie but first time customers you get a free drink.

This pizza place has been on my go-to list for a while now, and it absolutely delivers on the hype. What makes 786 Degrees so special is their creative approach to pizza. They're treating each pie like a passport stamp, incorporating international influences that make every bite feel like a mini culinary adventure. We'd be remiss not to mention the Chicken Tikka Masala pizza. The sauce was incredibly flavorful, and the chicken was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of char on the crust. The dough had great texture, though I personally would've loved a bit more depth of flavor from fermentation. But honestly, that's nitpicking. It's a small detail in an otherwise stellar experience. The staff really elevated our visit. When they found out we were first timers, they offered us a free beverage and one of the women physically walked us through the menu, explaining each option before we settled on our order. That kind of hospitality goes a long way. We also tried the PEPPERONI BumbleBEE STING. Soppressata-inspired spicy beef pepperoni with Calabrian sliced peppers and sesame. It's billed as a combination of sweet and spice umami flavors, and while it delivered on that front, I would have appreciated more pronounced honey sweetness and a spicier kick to really make it sing. All in all, 786 Degrees is a must-try. Any pizza fan in Los Angeles should have this spot on their radar. The creativity, quality, and welcoming atmosphere make it worth the visit.

Wow... my experience here was phenomenal! The different pizza options were diverse! There were a lot of pizzas I would've never thought of. When I first walked in I was greeted very kindly and once they heard it was my first time visiting, they gave me a run down on some of the more interesting pizzas from their menu. It was very hard to not go with one of several we talked about, but I ended up ordering the Istanbul pizza. My pizza was phenomenal, the Haideri sauce was delicious! Every bit of the pizza was a little bite of perfection, the crust, the sauce, the toppings all seemed to be placed with great intention. While I waited for my pizza to be made, and even after, I learned that the pizza wasn't the best part (and it was amazing)... it was the passion that Carlos (and 786) has for not only making a really good pizza and knowing their customers, but for striving to find new and original ways to bring worldwide tastes and experiences onto a pizza! Carlos and crew, keep doing what you're doing!

I really wanted to love this place after seeing so many positive reviews on Yelp, but honestly, there is better pizza out there. That said, there are some positives. The staff was fairly friendly, it was not overly busy when I visited, and the creative pizza combinations offer a fun twist on more traditional options. The ambiance was just okay. There is not much seating, and the space feels more like a working kitchen than a place designed to sit and enjoy a meal. It is fine for a quick stop, but not somewhere I would want to linger. My main issue comes down to the dough. For a spot that focuses solely on pizza, the dough really needs to shine, and unfortunately it did not. While it had a decent chew, the flavor was flat and slightly off, with an aftertaste that was not very pleasant. The charred spots were not crisped well either and tasted more burnt than intentionally charred, with the same soft texture as the rest of the crust. Out of the three pizzas we tried, the Habibi pizza was my favorite. The garlic yogurt sauce was genuinely delicious, but the lamb and beef fell short. The texture was mushy and the flavor did not come through as much as I was hoping. One other downside is the value. The pizzas were over twenty dollars and not very filling, which made the experience feel even more underwhelming given the other issues

On this day we ordered the Bulgogi pizza which was disappointing. Pizza was salty, limited bulgogi and the corn was unnecessary and didn't add any flavor to it. The crust is super thin which isn't a big deal but preferably a thicker dough would hold the topping better. Thw issue is the consistency of the dough is always different, its a gamble you may get a nicely baked pizza or you may get an over cooked or even worse burnt crust. The pizza is so small & pricey for the size (anywhere from $19-$26) and not knowing if your pizza will come out nicely baked or overly cooked/burnt isn't a gamble I want to take. Weeks back we had the the "Bombay tikka" that one had better flavors, although the crust was overly cooked/burnt. The service has been good the 3x we've been here, the workers are always friendly and ready to help with any question, the spot is small and the decor felt like we were back in Italy, but the uncertainty of how cooked/burnt the pizza will be isn't a gamble I'm willing to take again, I like consistency. In San Fernando (on San Fernando Road) there are 2 Mom & Pop pizza shops that have more flavorful pizzas, bigger proportions and always consistent with the crust.

This pizza place is really unique because they have pizzas inspired by different cultures and somehow they capture the essence of each one. It is a small spot but there are plenty of options to choose from. The prices are great, the customer service is friendly, and the pizza itself is honestly delicious. It might look like a little hole in the wall from the outside but it is definitely worth checking out. If you have never been here before you should try it at least once because it is such a fun and tasty experience.

Sooo many unique options! Even if you don't like pizza, you should check this place out because some of their options literally taste nothing like pizza & it's great. I personally don't like marinara sauce so I tried their Instanbul pizza & it was amazing & reminded me of humus & pita bread. My husband got the Marguerite pizza which is good if you like cheese & marinara sauce Would definitely come back & try some of their other options like the bulgogi, habibi & fungi lama Not too much space to dine in but they also have outdoor seating and the park is literally right across the street so you can easily set up a cute picnic Also service was amazing! Everyone working there was very friendly and helpful

Let's make is short. Fresh made (about 15- 20min wait depends on the line) The pizza is the thin crust style. Not the traditional Americans thick crust. The flavor was on point. I was expecting a little bit more heavy flavor from masala. But it was balanced. The price point are reasonable. Hand made pizza were about this level on price. They made it fresh and made it at the open kitchen. Expect about $25-30 for two pizzas. The servers was exceptional. She did a great job taking care all customer while waiting, lastly she was very friendly. read more

Another quick simple review here, I've been here a few times already, upon walking in someone will greet you and ask if it's your first time, my advice is just say yes you've been there before if not they will spend the next 5 minutes giving you what essentially feels like a sales pitch, anyway besides that let's get t the pizza. The pizza is delicious, my personal favorite out of the ones I tried was the Istanbul pizza which oddly enough has cucumber slices, I know sounds weird right but trust me it was amazing. Any how turns out they have a "secret menu" I'm not sure what kind of pizzas are served, we just had the guy at the counter tell us there was a secret menu, check out my pics to see which two I ordered from that menu. The food is amazing and the staff is professional, friendly, and you can tell they have a passion for their craft. The restaurant is small, but I definitely recommend eating there. You want to experience this pizza the minute it comes out of their Mt. Vesuvius Stone pizza oven. There's a reason they were named "Best Pizza in California" 8 years in a row. Great pizza! Owner and chef was super helpful and friendly. Trust the chef, he knows pizza. This is one of the best pizza spots in Southern California. Was in the area for the day and was looking for lunch. This place popped up and I saw all the 5 * reviews, intriguing. We drove over and tried it out. When you walk up, you don't see anything that is that exciting, but we walked in, scanned the QR code and placed our order. We talked to a couple people waiting for their pizzas. They both loved the place and one of them goes there a few times a week. The guy working there was very friendly and helpful. Our pizzas were done, we took them to the picnic tables outside and enjoyed. We ordered the Bombay and the Bulgogi. Wow, great crust, great ingredients and great flavor. When here again, I will be back. read more

I initially came here out of pure curiosity. How can a pizza place have such good reviews for pizzas that some people might think of it as abominations? And now I absolutely would recommend other people to come here! We've had a couple different pizzas, and they all stay so true to the flavors. No matter what we ordered, it just tasted like if we were eating that dish, but on a dough. It sort of make sense since every cuisine has some kind of bread, but it no doubt takes a lot of creativity to refine these recipes so well on the same pizza crust! My favorite is the tikka masala, surprise, surprise. I think I personally like this one because it has the most flavor, and maybe it's because the dish itself is bread-optional? As oppose to habibi was more like a gyro, and gyro already comes with bread, so I felt like I didn't get enough of the flavors out of it? Regardless, there are a lot of options, and they are all fun to try! read more

The 2 best pizzas we've ever had! Mushroom pizza with truffle oil topped with fresh arrugula. Habibi pizza with Egyptian spices, topped with a creamy yogurt garlic drizzle. It was the perfect blend of flavors. The people at the table next to us were also amazed by their pizzas. These are next-level pies, baby. I can see why he's won so many awards. I only wished that they were open more days. read more

Place has gone done in quality since it 1st opened. Waited for over an hour for an online order. That's ok, I was thinking I would wait 4 amazing pizzas. We ordered the Neapolitana, Habibi, and that's amore pesto pizza. Habibi was perfect. I've always ordered the pesto. I ate outside once the order was ready. Today, it was missing all the sauce. It was mostly cheese. I asked the employee, "Is this a new way of making the pizza? That's OK if you charged me more for the sauce. They said they would remake it. I checked the Neapolitana, and it was all sauce and 2 pieces of basil. When you're used to a place being amazing, you become a little disappointed when it's not. I just asked for my money back. Ididn't want to wait any more. Maybe I'll try them again. read more

I was in the area looking for a place to eat. I looked on Yelp and saw the reviews so I decided to try it. I was disappointed in the way the place looked as it looked like a little shack, in a desperate little shopping center. To my surprise the pizza was very good with numerous awards given to the proprietor. My only wish was that I could have tried more of the variety of pizzas they have. If I am ever in the area again, I will definitely try it again, hopefully with a big group so we could all share a slice of something different. read more

Wow I'm not one to write reviews but the pizzas here are so good people must know about this place. They have premade selections as well as original pepperoni but you Must try them all. I had the Istanbul w/ cucumbers (don't let it fool ya, it compliments the flavors completely) and Bombay Tikka Masala (Spicy, not Mexican spicy (: your welcome) they both were delish af and made me want to come back to try the rest. The pizzas I tried were thin crust, I believe the way it should be done, they were just right not so thin and not so thick. Crust was great as well if anyone care to know because I know most people don't eat the crust. Just letting you know I ate the whole pizza and some! All the flavors are not overpowering but give your taste buds something to scream about. Delicious spices all around. Overall they have the perfect consistency in the dough and flavor. This is not only the best pizza place in the Valley, or LA county, or CA. No, this is my favorite restaurant of any kind on God's green earth. You pretty much can't go wrong with whatever you choose, but the stand outs are Tikka Masala, Istanbul and the Habibi. I once lived a mile from here, but since I moved away, I will literally travel hours out of my way whenever I am in Southern CA to visit this location. It's amazing to see how much the Chef and the workers take pride in their work. They are always the most gracious and kind, and I have eaten here at least 50 times, and not once has the quality been anything but top notch. If there is a long wait, wait. Try this place, and spread the word once you have. 786 needs to be a famous staple of LA, it's that good. read more

Delicious pizza and stellar service. A hole in the wall that makes pizza from a 786 degree wood fired oven. Waitress took her time to explain our options and said we pay only if we enjoyed it. I sure damn enjoyed it. I had the Bombay Tikka Masala without the chicken. Really saucy and flavorful. Some pizzas can be made without meat however they are very serious about having the pizza the way the chef makes it. I also had the Funghi Lama which was light and simple with a hint of truffle. This is a great pizza shop! I'm from New York, so I know what good pizza tastes like, and this place comes the closest to the best I've tasted. It's so nice and cozy when you come in and the cashier is really enthusiastic. He really went through a length spiel to explain the different types of pizza that they offer and I really appreciated that. We ordered the fungi pizza and the Tuscany shrimp pizza. It was really sweet that the cashier offered a drink for my first time (also if you check in on yelp there's a free drink!). The fungi pizza was so delicious! I usually don't like arugula on pizza but lemme tell you, this was amazing. I love the fact that the arugula wasn't super bitter and the white pizza was really delicious! I love the fact that the white sauce wasn't super salty or creamy, it was delicious! The Tuscany pizza was really amazing, probably my favorite of the two! Oh. I am in love. My wife and I came here after reading the glowing 5 star Yelp reviews. 786 Degrees is quintessentially a local ma-and-pop store. Modest in size and location, it's tucked discreetly at the end of a strip mall. But what it lacks in stage presence, it EASILY makes up for with its bomb pizzas. We were lucky enough to meet the business owner on our first trip. With absolutely no prompting, he gave us a 5 minute rundown of all the pizzas on the menu. Describing each pizza as a "journey" to different parts of the world, I felt like he was referencing a travel brochure instead of an actual menu. It's clear pizza is his pride and passion, so much so that he refused to let us pay until AFTER we left the store satisfied. We went with their most popular option, the Bombay Tikka Masala, which apparently was featured on the Food Network as well? Anyway after 5 minutes, our pizza came out fresh and piping hot from their imported pizza oven. As weird as it may sound, the Bombay takes the best elements of tikka masala and combines it with cheese and crust to make a completely devourable piece of pie. This is complimented by the heavenly sauce drenched on each slice. Maybe we were just really hungry, but we finished our pizza faster than the time spent to cook it. Oh, and since we were first-timers, we each got a can of soda on the house too. Delicious pizza combined with excellent customer service is why 786 Degrees stands above the rest. Before we can talk about the food, let me start with their exceptional service! The lady behind the counter have us a brief history of the restaurant, different types of pizzas, recognition and the credibility of the Chef's vision, along with how the brick oven was made to order in Europe. Five star service! We ordered 5-6 pizzas of all different varieties. This is my second time here: last trip was in 2022, where I had the best fig and gorgonzola pizza and bone marrow of ma liiiiiife (in addition to some pasta dishes)! This time, I had six dishes, split with my friends: the fig and gorgonzola pizza (again--why mess with a fave?), the octopus and calamari (surprise hit!), the oxtail ravioli (good--but not my favorite; portion was super small too!), the gnocchi (good, but not amazing), the lamb ragu pici (AMAAAAAAZING!). We also had some beverages; a cellador saison and 2 glasses of red wine. The service and attention is good. I will say that inside the restaurant, it is BUMPING! We are so glad we got a table out on the patio so we could actually converse (inside the restaurant, the music is so loud, you practically have to yell!) If you sit outside, say hi to the family of raccoons on the roof! I will also say, since 2022, this restaurant is now "highly recommended" by the Michelin guide...which has definitely increased its popularity. Somehow, this has translated to much smaller portions though. They encourage sharing "family style" with friends, but the portions are so small, you really only get a few bites from the pasta dishes before it's all gone! (The pizza is at least bigger). So, while Bestia is fantastic, prepare to order a lot more to be truly full and spend at least $100 per person. For all 6 dishes, drinks, and tax (without tip) our total for 3 people was $250.01.

This review is not based on the food. I wouldn't know how it tastes cause of their awful service and systems. We walked into the Pasadena location 45 minutes before close and we're told they were out of dough. That's fine. We were walking out and they told us the sun valley location was open til 10. We hopped in the car and decided to order online before going. Site kept giving us an error. No problem. We'll call it in. Calls keep going to voicemail, and any other option we chose sent us a text with info. We decided it would be faster to just go and keep trying on the way. We called 3 more times and kept trying the website. We gave up when we were 8 minutes away after a 25 minute drive. When we walked in, they told us they were out of dough and that it was common. We told them we don't know why the Pasadena location sent us to them if them if they knew that was a common occurrence without checking first. They told us we should have called. We told them we did...4 times and they didn't pick up. Her response to that was that they get busy and don't pick up (mind you she just told us we should have called like it's our fault). At this point I was upset cause the blame was being put on us. We showed her the call history and out of guilt or knowing she was caught not picking up after telling us we should have called, she magically realized she might have some dough after all. She cracked an ice chest open and said she had 3 doughs. We were trying to get 4 pizzas but we were ready to take what we could get. We said we'll take the 3 and then she tells us it's cash only cause they already shut down the system. We didn't have enough cash so we were forced to walk out. We were out almost an hour of driving back and forth and had nothing to show for it. The sacrifice of service to offer gourmet pizza is not acceptable. The staff making excuses that they're too busy to pick up after telling a first time customer they should have called is not right. I was super excited to try the pizza here, but after this experience that's never going to happen. read more

A lot of places claim to serve artisan "style" pizza...this place actually serves you artisan pizza made by actual, award winning pizza artisans. Have you ever seen a pizza place with an awards shelf displaying the accolades they've received for pizza? No? Well head here and you will. They've covered every detail here...from the authentic pizza oven (taking up most of the very compact restaurant) to the uniforms the staff wear (did we mention if it's your first time there they give you whatever drinks you want as a welcome? They care about you...they really do!)...but really it's about the food. First off the crust on these pies was amazing. Really a perfect wood fired crust...perfectly soft on the inside, perfectly crispy on the outside. You would do well just to order a crust...seriously. We had the Fungi Lama pizza (one of their award winning pies) which came with arugula on top. I've been using the word "amazing" a lot in this review and, sorry, but here it is again...this pizza was amazing. We also had the Napolitana - a basic tomato sauce and buffalo mozzarella pie. (When we hit a new pizza place, we need a basic cheese and sauce pie just as a reference. This one was also very good. My wife eat's gluten free...They import a gluten free dough from another location...it's nice that they offer it, though honestly it wasn't particularly special. If you're a fan of vegan cheese they also offer one made with farmers market almond milk. My wife's not so much a fan of vegan cheeses but she thought this was a little better than the over-the counter vegan cheeses she's tried. Last thing I want to mention is how reasonably priced they are...the pies they're serving would be a lot more expensive in other parts of town...they really want to make their food accessible with very reasonable pricing. This statement is one way that shows their passion and dedication to bringing great food to the community. I am an educator at the local school there, the employee I spoke to has a daughter who attends Beachy Elementary. For folks who pride themselves on supporting local business, care about quality ingredients, and good food you should support this business. You may come into the area and think--WTF, but consider what you're supporting. I came into the shop and they treated me like family. You may read some of these reviews critiquing their storefront, but you need to ask yourself are they from the area, do they care about supporting local business, did they judge the food for the quality or did the storefront cloud their judgment from the beginning? Believe the hype about the pizzas here friends! I believe that you will enjoy almost any pizza you eat from here. I haven't tried all of them but that is my goal. I posted a photo of one of their pizzas, the Bombay tikka masala pizza. The guy that helped me told me that their sauce takes hours to make and they really specialize in the flavors. He was not kidding! That pizza is bursting with flavor. They make the pizzas for you while you wait there. I don't think you can call ahead from what he told me. It doesn't take too long to make the pizzas, I would say 10-15 min. But probably less then that if there is no one else waiting for their pizzas. There is parking available but it is shared with some other shops. So far I haven't had any problems with the parking. Customer service is excellent!!! The people working here have always been so friendly and explain in full detail any questions I have had about the pizzas. They are very sweet people and the pizza is great. Talk about customer service. Wow these guys nailed it to the point of over doing it but they didn't. The yelp praise made me have very very very high expectations, then I remembered it was yelp and most yelpers are out to lunch. Whoever the front end technician was at the register was the most knowledgeable employee of a small business I've ever met. Keep that guy around. My friend and I ordered the Indian and Margherita pizza and both were very good. Not the best pizza I've ever eaten, but no Neapolitan style pizza will ever be my favorite. 786 however does have one of the best in the city ( or outside the city) Anyways I highly recommend this hole in the wall pizza joint from start to finish. read more

It's located at a mini strip mall and as soon as I pulled in the parking lot, there were about 5 cars literally crawling to wait for someone to leave on such a tiny strip mall. Pizzas: I got two kinds, one regular crust and one thin crust. Both were over cooked. I expected the bread crust to be softer, especially the thin crust. But I guess I should lower my expectation next time. The sauces on both pizzas were skimpy so the pizzas were allost dry. I think the flavor is there, although the overcooked bread crust overpowered whatever the sauce was trying to add to the flavor. The garlic Parmesan bread was also over cooked and it's a bit dry. The chickenwings, well, I've never seen chicken wing that small. Despite the size, it was satisfactory. My overall experience will have to be less than average. Although leaving 2 stars seems a little harsh and I do believe there's room for improvement so I'll give it an extra star and maybe communicate how I'd like for the bread to be cooked in the future.
