My boyfriend and I came here for lunch on 10/16/18 and WAS NOT even greeted by the female waitress. Utensils were automatically put down on the table and another gentleman came up to us 2 minutes later to ask for our orders. After ordering a beef pho and pad Thai, the waiter left and I look to the table on the right side of us and there's the female waitress with a plate of food and a side of burger on her table - I guess having her lunch? I don't know but it was pretty unprofessional to me. After 10 minutes we see the gentleman who asked us for our order, sit next to the female waitress with a biiiig bowl of soup starting to chow down and then 2 minutes into his bowl, the gentleman got up and walked over to the back kitchen and served us our food. To be honest, I don't even think he washed his hands?!???? The whole entire visit was pretty casual - TOO casual If you ask me because people were in and out and walking to the back kitchen..I guess they're all friends who work there ? I'm not sure but the experience was much like a library than any restaurant. After our meal...I spent some time in the bathroom and probably took a good amount of time only to find my boyfriend still waiting on boxes. NOBODY paid us any attention the whole time there..not even asking us for water refills!!! THE FOOD: pho was pretty good..pad Thai was NOT pad Thai..they came out with beef PAD SEE EW. My supervisor always talks about how she loves this place so I had to come check it out! It gets pretty packed during lunch hour, but their service is quick and they don't rush you to finish up. My friend and I ordered the chicken spring rolls to share which were really light and had a lot of flavor. I'm glad they had the chicken option because usually places just have shrimp or pork rolls. I had high hopes due to rating on Yelp for this place, but Yelp ratings have failed me. This is one of the worst pho places I've been to from beginning to end. First off, the waitress couldn't remember our order and kept on asking us to repeat it several time. And she kept on forgetting to ask simple questions about our order, such as, what size bowl and what kind of meat and so on, therefore making her keep on coming back to our table and asking the questions after she put it in. When the food came out, it looked good, but it was only appearance. The food was a bit bland and didn't have the true Vietnamese taste. Something just wasn't right about their Pho. They only good dish that they had there was their eggrolls, but that wasn't enough to make me want to rate this place more than a star. Another reason for giving this place a very low rating is because no one ever came back to check on us to see how we were doing and if we needed refills on our water. When it was time to pay I told the cashier to put 3 items on my check, but he only put 2 items, so my other friend had to pay for that item he didn't put on my bill. How hard is it to separate checks and also to remember things for 30 seconds. I felt like no one at that restaurant can retain memory for more than 10 seconds there and they keep on asking or forgetting things. At the end I guess it was a sign that seeing Mexicans working the front in a Vietnamese restaurant. Not to be racist or anything, but they shouldn't be running the restaurant, if they don't know what true Vietnamese food should taste like. They need to stop scamming people into thinking that their food is authentic. If you guys want real Vietnamese food, I'd say, take that extra time and drive to Garden Grove or even to the 626 area. My drink was brought out in the meantime I waited and since I had baby carrier, owner helped me out to car which I appreciated. so i started out by ordering a thai tea because i have NEVER had a bad one. im not kidding when i say it tasted like cigarettes. i also ordered a brisket pho, which could have been my mistake, but the meat did not look appetizing at all. we also ordered spring rolls, which they definitely forgot to make and when we got them the meat was burnt. the peanut sauce also seemed to be just hoisin sauce with peanuts sprinkled on too. i dont think ive ever left such a poor review anywhere, i was just incredibly disappointed. the service was also subpar, we had to ask about the spring rolls twice after being there for about 45 mins, and then had to ask for the check. maybe we caught them on a bad day but we will not be returning, and im almost considering never getting pho again after this. read more

I said this to one of the owners and she chuckled and said she gets that a lot, but she tells people to go eat it somewhere else so they appreciate hers even more LOL. I always get the Rare Beef Pho. We walked in and saw 2 customers at different tables eating and a girl with her head down doing something at another table. Didn't know if anyone worked here but it was the girl at the table that did. We sat ourselves down and she brought us the menu. Liz had a laugh because she was like 'oh wow, they even translated in Spanish'. I don't need to translate for her. I ordered the bun cha gio vi tom nuong (vermicilli noodle with eggrolls and grill shrimp) and had mentioned to her please nooooo, peanuts. I just don't like peanuts in my noodles. I like it on a sandwich, PBJ. Liz ordered the chicken pho. My dish consisted of just one eggroll (cut up) and 4 shrimp. That was disappointing because I paid $9 for that bowl. The eggrolls were good though. The grilled shrimp was over cooked. An extra eggroll would have been divine. I would have paid for another eggroll. The noodles were good. Liz said her pho soup taste a bit zingy. I said is it ginger? She tasted it again and said oh yea, how did you know. Usually the pho broth taste consistently the same but there are restaurants that like to put ginger or concoct something different. I like it traditional please. But ginger is good for you. This place has a modern feel, but authentic flavor. The dining room is bright and airy. There is a large TV on one wall for the solo diner's entertainment. Each table seats four, but some of the tables are pushed together so that eight people can sit together. At the lunch hour it get pretty full so plan accordingly. I had Pho #9: pho with brisket. Delicious. The broth had a lot of flavor, which is enhanced with the brown and red sauces. i recommend adding all the sides (i.e. sprouts, basil, jalapenos, lime) to the dish. The sprouts add more texture and give each bite a solid crunch. Many contributors here have complained about the portion sizes, but i found the large pho bowl to be a little too much for a lunch meal. I might downgrade to a smaller portion next time. Lastly, the service was great. They were helpful when i needed them and they left me alone when I was stuffing my face. Let me preface by saying that I have been eating Pho for a long time. I was introduced to it by my old boss, Sonny Luu, and ate the best Bolsa had to offer 2-4 times a week for over a year. This is really good Pho, and it is something special. I can't quite nail down all the differences, but if you know Pho, you will immediately sense that this has been elevated a bit from the norm. Part of it is the fabrication of the beef slices (my go-to is Pho Tai Chin, so rare steak and brisket). They are cut with more care, leaving bite-sized pieces as opposed to the larger ones I'm used to tearing in half at other places. The broth is super clear and has been skimmed well - no oil slick on top of this soup! The portions and proportions (I've been to places that load up on the noodles and skimp on the meat - boo to them!) are great, but the price is maybe $1-1.50 more than Little Saigon. The Goi Cuon is also good - fresh veggies, well cooked shrimp. I've had nothing but good service here, but as with any Pho restaurant, if you go for lunch when the weather is bad, be prepared for a crowd. I've been a couple of times in the rain, and the place is just packed. Also, the center in which it is located has a smallish parking lot that can be a bit tight. If you're having trouble finding a spot, try going past 828 Pho on the left, then turn left just before the driveway - there are usually a bunch of spots back there. Pho is a very regional dish, so opinions vary wildly, especially among those who grew up eating it. To me, this is one of the best bowls of Pho available outside Little Saigon but still in Orange County. Luckily for me, It's less than a mile from my house! read more

She told me this is because she serves food just like an American restaurant so why should she allow people to tip what they want when American restaurants make you pay 20% to clean up after you. BTW, we were very careful to be really clean, I know some kids are messy but we definitely took into consideration not to make a mess. Now back to the food.
