First time trying out this location. It's just ok. Very small for an 85 bakery. They have no indoor or outdoor seating and only a couple counters for the pastries. Not only was the number of items limited, but none of my favorites were stocked. I can't be the only liking their chocobuns. For this visit I promised my daughter a chocobun so I ended up having to purchase another chocolate-like bun with powdered sugar. Realizing too late that there was no outdoor seating, we had to eat in the car and she made a huge mess. Since this location is so close to the one in Tustin, I will not be returning here again unless I am strictly getting the food to go. read more

Came in on a Sunday night around 5ish. Not busy at all and there was actually quite a few pastries left! Also have a separate kiosk if you wanted to order drinks only. Boba to drink ratio was a bit off :( but the drinks were good. Mainly giving a 4 because of the bathroom stall cleanliness. We stayed to eat in the parking lot and noticed they were still bringing our pastries around 6pm so that's a plus! read more

Always stop by before 8 and the baked goods are coming out hot, fresh and fully stocked by the time they open. The service is always quick, fast and friendly. Her dismissive attitude when I asked about the whipped cream for the Toffee latte was off-putting and significantly impacted my overall experience. This is one of the places that has actually improved it's service with Covid-19. Before, you would grab a tray, some songs, and load up baked goods on your tray. When you approached the counter, they would bag everything, ask if you wanted a box or a bag, and make a nice presentation. Only challenge was it could slow the line down. Now, they are pre-wrapping everything and everything flows much smoother. I'm sure it's extra work for the team in the back, but from my perspective, I appreciated the pre-packaging. You know nobody has picked up the pastry with tongs and changed their mind putting it back in case. I want to recommend the ham and cheese roll. It's become my stay at home breakfast item. Every time we go to a friend's or family get together, this is my go to bakeshop to buy some desserts. It's so convenient because they have locations throughout So. CAL. And I also try to be loyal to this chain since I earn my rewards points for every purchase. And I truly enjoy their cakes. It's never too sweet and the chiffon cake is always just perfect (never too dry) While this location is smaller than the other stores I have been to, their cake displays are still pretty substantial. This 85 location is great. It's nice and clean. But feels a little compact sometimes, the line is right by the entrance. The staffs are fast and nice. Bread is always good. Bread taste has changed over the years, but you'll get the same taste now whichever location you go. They stay to be an affordable delicious snack option. In almost every case, and every 85°C, Bakery Café I have ever visited, I always leave feeling like I got away with something. I'm not sure if it's the relatively cheap prices for pretty good pastries, some impulse buy grab bag near the register that I can't seem to avoid, or just the fact that I've never walked out of the place with any feelings of sticker shock, even when I take my wife and kids who load up trays, like the place is having a going out of business sale. No different here: my kid opted for this after his breakfast, number one of donuts, and while he will probably have to watch it at some point in his life, the number of hours he spends in the pool every day he's keeping his carb intake, balanced with his waist line. Just wait kid... Just wait. But we walked in likely on the joint, my kid grabbed a tray and started loading it all up with his favorite things, and I practiced restraint once again, unable to consume anything outside of my pretty stringent nutrition plan, even though I'm the guy carrying the credit card. My dad will come, but it wasn't today. Instead, I had my premade oat bran and fresh fruit from grocery outlet in a small Tupperware in a bag at my side, intent on making a purchase here, getting a large Americano, and then eating my breakfast while my kid ate their food. Seems like a fair enough exchange, not free, loading or anything. When I sat down, I realized that I had no eating utensil: no spoon, no fork, nothing. I sent my kid over to the counter to see if they had a plastic spoon or something, but nothing out. He took the initiative of asking the young lady behind the counter if they had one, and I laughed a little bit when she said "what for?" Not because I'm entitled to a free fork, or spoon or anything, but it was just funny to me somehow... like we just dropped 21 bucks on plastic wrapped pastries, and two drinks, or your inventory controls that type that you have to account for the use of every plastic fork? My son, an old soul, as it were, offered to pay for it, and she dropped the issue all together, and handed one to him. in the end, it was a small favor, but a favor all the same. And anyway, I did not have to eat Ronnie, oatmeal and fruit with my fingers. Probably something our fellow customers that other tables appreciate it without knowing it. Love this 85! It's the first location I tried when it opened, and it quickly became a "are you a customer or an employee?" daily coffee fix type of place. The Sea Salt Iced Caramel Coffee with 1/2 Sugar (& sometimes Extra Ice) is the absolute best drink here. YAlthough I don't frequent this location as much as I used to, the staff was/is always beyond amazing. Not sure if Michelle is still in charge of the morning shift, but she was the most friendly food service employee ever and definitely deserves her own shout out! The only slight con I can really think of is that last time I came, my Coconut Raisin Twist had barely any delicious filling in it, which was quiet the bummer since I literally have dreams of taking that thicc boy, sweet twisted brioche snack & putting a ring on it. Nice spacious bakery. Went here to pick up Mother's Day cake and it was ready for pickup at the time it was promised. One less star because they had an issue on their part in that on their pick up slip stated it was paid and then crossed out unpaid. I told them that we had originally paid and I had to present a receipt to get my cake. Other than this, the overall store was clean and pastries were well stocked. Always been a fan of this chain bakery! This location is in Orange, and we dropped by September 2020. They were one of the very first establishments we visited in person ever since the pandemic started. Yeah, I know that I am way behind in writing a review about them. Anyways, when we stopped in, we were the only customers that morning. The bakery was very clean, and we were greeted by the friendly staff. Loved the fact that everything was prepackaged now. Makes for a safer, healthier, and sanitary experience, The cases were not as full, but all the bakery goods looked fresh. Happily, all our favorites still tasted yummy!! I would like to preface this by saying I have been coming to this specific location for almost 4 years now.. and in my 21 years of life have never been told a comment like this. I went in today to get a Large Peach Green Tea with double boba as a treat for myself because I workout everyday and am on a diet. Right when I said "can I also get double boba in it," the guy (I believe his name is Daniel) looks me up and down and says "that's a lot of calories." I didn't know what to say to this so I just chuckled and said "oh i'm sharing it with my sister." He doesn't say anything else after that. So I paid and went to my car and cried to my sister and mom. My sister and her friend come to yell at him for making a comment like that, then my parents both came in to yell at them for FAT-SHAMING their daughter. He, his coworker and the manager of the location tried justifying this comment saying they "say this sometimes" but I have never (in my 4 years at this location) heard that comment, nor have I heard this at any other establishment. This comment was inappropriate, uncalled for and downright unprofessional. Added to that, it was unkind, hurtful and thoughtless. I recently finished cancer treatment and have finally been able to get myself actively on track with my diet and my body that changed drastically due to steroids and chemotherapy. To have this employee make a comment like that was just mean. Do better. If I could give 0 stars I would. read more

This store is a bit smaller than the others. I also think each location has a slightly different variation of the fresh breads they put out, and this one felt like it didn't have as many options as some of the other locations; however, fresh pastries is always going to be delicious. We ordered the large iced sea salt coffee with caramel and it was sweeter and more delicious than the one I usually order without the caramel, which I didn't think was possible. Since this location was less than a mile from where we were staying, we came back too many times in two days. I want to highlight my favorite pastries: taro swirl, premium milk, brioche bread (aka cloud bread), egg custard, boroh cream danish, and any bread with the melted cheese on it. I tried their Lemon Mini Cake , Red Velvet Cake , Chocolate Roll all of these tasted great not too sweet they tasted just right !! Showed up at 7:30 AM. Just workers inside, and thought this was weird so I checked online for the hours and looked on the window, both of which say they open on Mondays at 7am. So I try to go inside, and the workers look at me like I'm crazy, and the doors are locked. I get back to my car and right as I'm leaving, they unlock the doors. After the way they looked at me I didn't even want to bother them as it seemed I had. I'm so happy they have a location in Orange! I didn't like driving to Garden Grove or Fullerton every time I wanted 85! Plus, this location isn't crowded like the other locations! I came in on a Friday morning (around 9am) and there was no line and no one. As I sit here there's a nice steady flow of people but no ridiculous lines like in Irvine. Staff is pretty friendly!
