Recently found this restaurant thanks to my friend. We've been looking for a good Indian restaurant with reasonable prices. We have eaten their chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, samosa (potato & peas), peas palau rice, garlic naan and garlic cheese naan. All very good. Can't wait to try other items on their menu. This is a late review. We ordered online with free delivery which was super awesome and hard to find these days. They came before the estimated delivery time. The only reason why I knocked one star off was because the paratha I ordered wasn't what I had imagined it would taste like. It says it suppose to be fried but it didn't have that fried taste. Other than that I really liked what I got. The lamb briyani was super flavorful with a lot of meat, the portion for this was amazing (it took me three times to finish) but then again I was eating it with the lamb curry. I'd order from here again if I was was still living in Glendale. Oh and they delivered from Silver Lake area!!! Not a lot of places would drive that far with free delivery. read more

I think one of the best things about their menu is the variety of combinations you can have with the base curry. Vegetarians must love this place. And their delivery is top notch. They give you so much food for the base curry and side dishes that you could make three meals out of it and the spice level is legit Asian spicy level. If you order it spicy, it going to be spiceh. I love leveling up to a combo plate because no matter what veg side dish and daal, it is going to go very well with your main dish. They give you two to three slices of naan and you always have (in the delivery drop down list) an option to order more. The basmati rice is always fluffeh and light. I love their refreshing yogurt raita because it is full of cucumber pieces and makes for a nice respite when the curry main dish becomes too spicy. My fave mainstay main dishes are the lamb vindaloo, the lamb curry and anything with spinach (saag). I also love their matar paneer (anything with homemade cheese and peas is amazing) and I have a craving for their aloo gobi (cauliflower/potatoes). My son loves the chicken tandoori and my husband always orders the chicken tikka masala. Very good quality and amazing delivery service if you have large orders that need prompt attention. read more

I went there with my family and we were treated very badly.The staff members who works there are not welcoming and very unfriendly . We have noticed that the way how they treat customers differ from person to person. For me as person who loves Indian food, I feel that the food is not fresh, Stale and meat was dry and barely cooked. Also I want to mention about the unpleasant experience with the owner with mustache who is very rude, My children asked for water and had to wait 20 minutes just to be served water unfriendly especially when we asked them that we have to wait for the food to be served for at least 45 min so we realize how unprofessional they are.The owner was very awful, rude and racist towards us as soon we got the restaurant. the way how treated was bizarre especially when he start raising his voice on us just the fact we asked if they use vegan oil or not , so we decided to leave after few bites especially with this type of disgusting quality of food and service that we have received then we paid the bills and left when the owner start cursing at us and stuttering with different language as well profanity in front of children. Dear everyone, If you want to have bad restaurants experience just go there and I promise that you feel the same way! Woman on the phone is always very rude and she has been answering the phone forever. I think she waits tables too and when she does she never smiles, barely makes eye contact, is rude to other workers, doesn't come check on you, and I can probably count the times shes said "thank you" on one hand. Its a strange vibe for sure and Ive been coming here for years. Delivery is usually quick and friendly though. Food is usually pretty good too, but sometimes it has its off- nights. Great vibes in this place! They have a variety of choices in the menu. We ordered dinner for two (our go to everytime we go to an Indian spot) so we can try a little bit of everything. This order came with an assortment of appetizer (came with samosas), 2 meat dishes (ordered chicken tikka masala and pineapple shrimp curry) , 1 vegetable dish (mushroom sagwala) and 2 dessert (rice pudding and mango ice cream). Flavors are there! Service is fantastic; our water glass never got empty. There is parking. I was so full leaving this place. I would recommend this to anybody. I normally like to write positive reviews but we didn't have a great meal there recently. The sauces were so watered down they tasted bad, and the chicken was dry. In addition, they are needing a little help on the cleanliness aspect. The staff is nice enough but the food doesn't measure up. This place is so awesome. I went there for Valentine's Day and they had the whole place beautifully decorated. The interior is very nice in general so it has a great ambiance inside. They custom made me vegetable balti with coconut milk (to make it vegan) and ohh my gaww, twas epic. Plus rice, veggie samosa, garlic naan (both made To perfection). I can't wait to go back. Their menu said that the Dinner for 1 special was $18.95. When the check came I noticed that they were charging $20.95 for it. I brought this up to one of the staff members and said that they hadn't changed their menus to reflect the new prices. This has been my go to spot for anything Indian in the area. They have delivery options through multiple apps. GARLIC NAAN If you like dough and garlic, this is a must with whatever you order. It's fresh and a perfect utensil to eat your food. SAMOSAS The samosas are a fried 3D triangle of deliciousness! I always get mine veggie (mashed potatoes and peas with spices). I drench each bite with a combination of spiced mint sauce (green sauce) and plum sauce (purple sauce). But understand that I love condiments. DAAL SOUP It is surprising how good a simple daal soup can be, and this one does not disappoint. It's cheap for a cup, and you'll likely enjoy it even if you're not a big soup person. The flavors are full and numerous, but it's not a heavy soup. A perfect starter before the main course. CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA This is my favorite dish here. Compliments to the chef who knows how to perfectly find the line between sweet yogurt cream and spice. So many times cooks have no clue how to find this delicate balance for this dish. Beware if you order this spicy you will likely not taste the rest of the meal (they dice up raw Serrano peppers and put it on top). I'd recommend ordering it medium or mild. I also like this dish with rice and to mix into the rice a few bites at a time. PAKORA I like pakora, but I "Americanize" it and dip it in ranch. I find eating pakora (fried veggies) is not good on its own without ranch. I'd pass on pakora and recommend Samosas instead. read more

My friend and I go out to eat a lot, and ever since the Electric Lotus closed down in Los Feliz, we havnt had a go to spot for good Indian food. I suggested we check out Agra Cafe, and as we pulled up he remembered that this is the restaurant his work orders from quite often, especially when they have some big name clientele come in. Everyone is always really happy with their orders, so I was glad that I sort of re discovered it. We went in, and it wasnt very busy, maybe one or two other tables were taken. I ordered the Vegetable Curry, Saag Paneer, and some naan. My friend ordered the Chicken Tika Masala. Everything was super good, we were both very satisfied. We asked for both dishes spicy and were glad we did- definitely added some flavor. Both were very creamy. Not the most adventurous choices but they were tasty and hit the spot. Naan and rice were pretty standard and tasted good as well. This place is definitely decent and our meal fed us again the next night. Solid 3.5 stars- rounded up to 4 because it's nice and close to where I live! The good news is if you're feeling lazy they will deliver. Their online ordering page is a little weird and inaccurate (says meals come with rice & naan at dinner.. but that's only the case at lunch). Luckily we called instead and got things sorted out. If you don't live close you'll be happy to know there is a nice big parking lot and lots of street parking on Hoover if it is ever full for some reason. I have been craving India Cuisine all weekend long and finally I decided to just go for it. I wanted to try a different spot than my usual. So Agra came into play. Let's start with the appetizers. I LOVE SAMOSAS. I could've just order their vegetable samosas and I would have been happy. Onion Bhaji, was also delicious. I guess you can't really go wrong with fried deliciousness. I wanted a little bit of EVERYTHING so I was very happy to see the Mixed Tandoori. This had chicken tikka, chicken kabab, lamb tikka, seekh kabab and tandoori chicken.The chicken tandoori was good, shish was a little chewy and lamb and chicken Tikka was OK. I'm glad I got it, because now I know just to go for the chicken tandoori and skip the rest. I ordered the Chicken Korma, can't go wrong with chicken inside cream sauce. This paired with rice was HEAVEN. Then the Vegetable Biriyani, what a dish. I could've just had that and would've been happy. Lastly, I got the mango shake. Now I'm probably biased because of how much I love mangos, but damn this was a perfect ending to my meal. Still got plenty of food left for tomorrow, which is very exciting. I desperately needed to sober up with some nourishment. We were the only ones in there. We ordered the chicken tikka masala and my friend raved about how good it was and she was right, it was pretty good. It's my favorite Indian dish and I don't recall ever having it bad anywhere. During a work lunch break we actually set foot to find Thai food, but the Thai place next door was closed. This place smelled really nice, but maybe a bit too strong because my eyes started watering 5 minutes in. No matter, I was hungry. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala and it was excellent. The food came in these metal trays that reminded me of how prisoners eat in movies. My table talked about this and thought that it was quite clever (despite the ugly look) because the metal trays would be easier to wash and store than a bunch of little bowls and plates. Holy smokes, best take out we've had in ages! Having never eaten here before, we went off of Yelp reviews and ordered via Postmates. Our first experience here could have been a disaster because of our initial Postmates experience (courier disappeared and food just sat there). However, Agra Cafe clearly takes in great pride in their food and upon calling the restaurant to check in on that status, the gentleman who helped us was knowledgeable of our order and said they had remade our food because of Postmate's screw up. Just got delivery through Grubhub last night and everything was absolutely amazing!!! I had the vegetarian special with creamy mushrooms (vegan and absolutely heavenly) and the meal also comes with a veggie samosas, onion bhaji, 2 pieces of naan, rice, and a desert (I chose gulab jamun & it was just like the kind I tried when I visited India). Boyfriend had the meat special with shrimp/pineapple curry (huge, succulent chunks of pineapple!), subbed Roti for the bread choice, a samosa, rice, and the gulab jamun as well. We've had a lot of great Indian food in the area, but this place is by far the best so far! Delivery came early, too. Their menu selection is HUGE and comparable prices to others in the area. Been wanting to try this for a while. Parking is ample. I walk in, and its rather dark. The staff isn't that warm, a perfunctory greeting and you sit where you want. The menu is left to be desired even if it is a lunch menu. Most folks probably go for the lunch special which includes a main entrée, vegetables, and rice. I ordered the chicken tikka masala. It was ok. It came out on a small thali square plate, and it just looked lonely. I've had thali's before and I've never wondered where the rest of the food is, even if it the same order. I don't know if they messed up my order, but I ordered the chicken Mahkni (butter chicken) and it tasted nothing like butter chicken and I've never left a food review in my life but that was so bad and so disappointing that it prompted me to leave the review, the samosa and the bread was alright, really liked their spicy sauce.
