To top it off, the prices are quite expensive for what you get. The food really missed the mark. Pad Thai noodles were very mushy, and the sauce was way too sweet. Meatball Pho had a strange, slightly off taste that just didn't seem right. I'd skip the complex noodle soups and stickier noodle dishes in favor of a basic fried rice or a standard curry which might be a safer bet. Pro Tip: Because it's tucked away inside an office complex style building, it is a bit confusing to locate from the parking lot, but just follow the signs. To their credit, operating a Thai and Vietnamese fusion restaurant in interior Alaska means higher ingredient import costs. Because delicate rice noodles, fresh bean sprouts, and specific herbs like Thai basil or cilantro cannot be grown locally during the harsh sub-zero winters, restaurants have to fly them in or transport them up via the Alaska Highway which explains the higher prices.

We ended up ordering beef noodle soup and the duck crepe, which both were surprisingly better than I expected. However, my only issue with the dishes were the veggies used, which was far from any Asian veggies since they used raw lettuce and it was very undercooked and had a slight bitterness that somewhat ruined the dishes for me. In a way I think the dishes might have tasted better without it although I appreciate the effort to add in some veggies. For the beef noodle soup, the broth and the meat was good and the egg noodle went well with it. My friend ordered the ramen version, and it was literally instant ramen noodles (not worth in my opinion). While you're able to dine in they operate more like a take out spot as all the utensils and boxes are using take out and disposable containers. Fushimi is special, tucked into a small strip mall with somewhat limited parking. It has a very fun interior, themed almost like any other Japanese steakhouse. The dining experience was great and our waiter was even better. He even chatted with me about my experience in Japan, his experience in the states, and let me practice the very little of the language I still remember from high school (it's been a long while). But the food...if I lived here, I'd be a regular. And quite honestly, I wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did. We ordered a few things, including the salmon teriyaki dinner. It came out sizzling (literally) but was still perfectly cooked. It wasn't dry or super fishy, just absolutely delicious served over a bed of vegetables with a side of steamed rice. We also ordered a few rolls which, for the life of me, I can't remember the name of because I was too busy actually enjoying my food. Overall, a great dining experience and I can't wait to visit again.

Shrimp were a good size but looking at the dish I wasn't sure it had any NOODLES? On closer review the noodles were too thick and soggy/gooey. It just ruined the entire dish. Ordered the Halibut Egg Rolls, Panang Curry with Halibut (which is not a normal menu item), Chu Chee Pla with Salmon, and Pad See Ew with Beef (which I have to order at every Thai restaurant I go to). Not everything you see halibut in egg rolls, but I had to get it. the panang curry was up there with some of the best panang curry I've ever had, and it came with a fairly hefty portion of halibut. Chu chee pla was good, although it tasted a bit similar to the panang curry. Pad see ew was very good, and it was quite a huge portion as well. Staff here were very friendly despite being extremely slammed. There were only two people taking care of the entire restaurant and one cook in the back. Despite all that, the food came out at a fairly reasonable pace. Much kudos to them for working so hard. Really enjoyed my trip to Bahn Thai. I guess there really is elite Thai food up in Fairbanks!
