I'm always picky about poke because it's easy to ruin it by oversaucing it or not putting enough fish. That definitely isn't the issue at Ahipoki. Since discovering it a couple weeks ago, I've gone 3 times. That's also where I introduced my bf to poke bowls. I got half brown rice, half salad with tuna and salmon and the garlic sauce. Sooooo good. The fish was fresh, the salad not wilted, rice tender but not mushy. They have a ton of toppings to choose from too. I got pretty much everything. 10/10 would recommend read more

Was really surprised that I throughly enjoyed my meal. Upon entering i noticed there was no line around 9 pm and the menu was very clear. They had ran out of white rice so I ordered half salad/half brown rice with tuna/ spicy tuna. They tossed the salad with my sauce of choice which was house spicy + creamy spicy along with all of my toppings. It was intriguing that they had mango as a topping option and it added the right amount of sweetness. I think they put the perfect amount of sauce because my plate wasn't drenched after yet my salad was still dressed. I always eyeball the tuna first and if it looks pale and lifeless I order salmon instead. This wasn't the case at all, the tuna was a nice glistening pink. My reasoning for the 4 stars is because the portion/prices were on the higher side. For almost $11 after tax you get a decent sized meal but there isn't a whole lot of fish involved. In my opinion if you're going to have only two sizes then at least make them a 2 scoop difference from each other. 3 scoops of fish is not large point blank period. Customer service was awesome though and they even generously gave us miso soup on the house! read more

This was my first time having Poke ever!! Have always wanted to try it ever since I heard about it! I got to go and I got the Large with the 3 Fish. For the base I got the mix of the White & Brown Rice on the rice I got the House, sesame & a little bit of the chili oil, with Shrimp, Scallops & Octupus and I got Cucumber, Edemame & Mango as well as the imiatation Crab Meat, Fish Egg Roe & Garlic and to top everything off on it I got the sesame seeds and these flakes that was seaweed flakes (I can't remember what it was called) and on the side I got eel sauce, that was so good I put the whole thing on, and some hot sauce. I wish I was better with words, I can't tell you how good it was. Oh and I got the Thai Tea, because it was the grand opening and it was 50% off if you got a drink and the Thai Tea was amazing too!! I wish Mississippi (where I live) could get a Poke place but I don't think it would last we are just starting to get a lot of Sushi places. I walked in to order & your employee rushed me and didn't do my order right. She asked me how can she help me and still did my order her way and served me with all the bitterness in her heart. I left & came back because she gave me the wrong sauce. It was mostly oil. She kept asking me how can she help me and I asked if I could look at the menu . She ignored what I said and asked me how can she help me. I asked her if they had thai tea she said yes and I asked for one without boba. She made it , I paid it and she walked away . I called her back for a straw and asked if I was supposed to just grab one and she had an attitude about that. I tried to open the door and walk out with my walker but the door hit me n spilt the drink . I picked up my drink and walked back in for napkins . The guy gave me napkins. She asked me again how can she help me so I said yes can you help me clean this mess and she said no , it's not her job title. The worst employee of the century. She asked me again , how can she help me. I said , can I have a refund. She said no. LMAO. I asked for a manager and she said no. I told her I was done and I want my money back. She told me to leave or she's going to call security. I said please do cuz I need help and can't stand up for a long time. She threatened me , saying she knows people too. The Poke was good. A little smaller portion than what I'm used to. But, still good. The first person who helped me, Jasmine, seemed annoyed that I told her I would be ordering 3 bowls. She rolled her eyes and when I asked if I just saw that right, she didn't apologize or even acknowledge it, she just asked again what I want. I asked someone else to help me. Angel did, and he was super nice and made up for the poor customer I received from the other worker. So overall, the food was good. So I saw the opening soon sign announcing Ahipoki's arrival in a small space that used to house Pizza Studio. It was like some maiden beckoning from far away - hey sailor, Ahipoki LOOOONG TIME! I remember going to their first two locations back in Arizona about a year or so ago and not being impressed. Since then they've expanded something crazy. You look at their location maps of California and Arizona and it looks like they're winning a game of Risk - Ahipoki Empire! All that bias I had towards what was becoming the Wal-Mart of the poke wars aside, I had to give it a try. So they have the same type of setup as Chipotle - you start on the right and choose your type of bowl - salad, rice, brown rice, half or some combination of those. Then you pick two or three types of "proteins" as well as sauce. And finally you choose your toppings. They still charge an extra buck for yellowtail and avocado. That still irks the heck out of me. I'd rather go with a higher base price and just include all options and you can bugger off with all these nitpicky little additional charges. I'm freaking getting a bowl of poke - not doing my taxes FFS. So it was close to the same as I remember when I tried them in the Scottsdale and Chandler locations. This time, however, they seem to have additional choices. Don't know if it's this location or the whole chain but you can also get an eel bowl or a salmon bowl. You can get miso soup as a side. You also have a choice of getting two items as a Ahipokirrito™ - not to be confused with Pokirritos, Sushirittos, or Phorittos. I tried one for the heck of it. Still has the same flaw as Pokirrito did - unlike a real burrito there is no support provided for the bottom so eventually everything falls out of the bottom. Meh. Oh. There are additional sauces and protein types than they had last time I tried them. Also mango is an option so that is cool by me. And you can add additional proteins for a 1.75 each so at least you have that option now. I'd say this is a more evolved version of that chain so I do see myself coming here from time to time. Until these folks showed up here the only other poke options in this area were L&L, Hawaiian Homestead, Maki Maki Sushi, and Guahan Grill - they all had their own version of poke whether side or main dish but you get whatever they define as poke - not customizable. Complete vendor lock-in and the only thing you could add were the aftermarket additions like the condiments sitting around on your table. So it's nice to have an actual poke place as a choice for eats in the Midway district. Right off Rosecrans between Midway and Sports Arena in the Grosvenor Square mall that is also home to PetSmart, Chipotle, Starbucks, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue, Noodles & Company, Jersey Mike's Subs, Supercuts, Round Table Pizza, and Georgia's Greek Cuisine. Mall is big enough that you'll find parking somewhere - maybe a bit further away depending on the time of day. read more

Only poki place I know of that charges more for avacado, albacore, or yellow tail. At $12 a bowl (only 3 small scoops) it should all be included. Most other places charge $10-11 for a large with 4/5 scoops with any side. After a drink it was $16 for a mediocre meal. read more

It was good and would have given 5 stars but was disappointed when I got my food (we did delivery and ordered online) more than half of what we added to our bowls was missing to both mine and my boyfriends bowls. I basically had poke with rice leaving out all the additions and same with his. I double checked to make sure order was done correct and it was all included on receipt. So that was a bummer. But quality wise will give it another try. Probably go in and not do delivery. read more

Seaweed salad tasted rank and not fresh. Yellow tail was terrible with hard uneatable rib meat all over it. Will never eat here again.

I could eat their tuna and avocado mixture thing with seaweed salad over steamed rice with house sauce and fu- sprinkles every day.
