Unfortunately this location is a mess. Most of the staff are young, so there's no sense of urgency and lack of organization given the long wait for drinks due to piled up tickets. I ordered 2 drinks and only one drink was ready when they called my name up for pick up. Pay attention or have a better process for organization so things don't slip through the cracks. Also, please train your staff how to make simple drinks like an iced flat white--which I was denied of because the baristas there didn't think it was a real drink while they could've just said they didn't know how to make it. Holy disgusting... This place really went down hill in just a few months. ONE why does your entire store always smell like sour, burnt espresso beans something isn't right TWO why do your baristas have loose hair while making drinks??? Why did I see a barista peel a piece of her hair off a drink and serve in anyway thats so disgusting. THREE do we not know what mixing is anymore... I have really changed my mind over the past few visits! Service has gotten much quicker and the drinks have improved. I've been getting the cold brew and it's by far my favorite cold brew in the valley. Super convenient location to stop by and then go to Pilates across the way. Just moved to the area and this was a nice find! My girlfriend and I split the breakfast burrito with bacon which was really good! I do wish there was more bacon but the flavor was good especially with the side chipotle aioli. We also both got the matchaga which had great flavor! I'm a big fan of their mocha, vanilla latte, banana bread, and bagel--they're all great! In my opinion, they make the best bagel and banana bread around. I enjoy having these snacks with my hot drink in the morning, and I've tried many places before. Their bagel and banana bread are top-notch. I really miss the old Coffee Bean that used to occupy this space since the opening of The Village. I just find it funny how this space was replaced with another more expensive coffee shop. I don't know, but the coffee here is just ok. It's not great. I am appreciative that they make their own alternative milk, but the I thought their coffee was just ok. One thing I have to mention is that this time, we only ordered a couple of croissants and asked for it to be toasted. I think we waited close to about 10 minutes for our croissant. While waiting, I saw someone come out from the kitchen with 2 boxes and our croissants that she just tossed on to the counter instead of placing it on their. I sat their looking at the croissants for 5 minutes and no one called our name. I didn't understand it as there were at least 4 people just standing around. I then walked up to the counter and was about to ask someone to grab my food, but then I noticed another staff member that was just cleaning up the tables come back and called my name. I didn't realize there was one person calling out peoples names and no one else could do it when that person was busy cleaning tables. I mean, this is an establishment based on being served mostly hot drinks and food. So the longer it sits around, it's no longer hot. Maybe management should think twice about this process. I would think the person bringing food out of the kitchen should be able to call people's name out since they are the ones bringing it out from the kitchen. read more

I've been wanting to try this place out but was a bit hesitant of this location because of the reviews, well I went in at 11ish this morning and it was busy but my drink came out quickly. I got an iced strawberry matcha with macadamia milk to give it a little extra creaminess. The taste was there, matcha was good and the strawberry gave it some sweetness. Inside has plenty of seating, small outside patio too but with it at the village there are plenty of places to sit outside too. Service was great, fast and easy ordering. I've been to the other location in Studio City and it wasn't great. This one just opened in the Village and I have it some time before trying it to let them settle a bit. Still not impressed!! We stopped by last night about 40 minutes before they closed and were surprised to still see a couple of people sitting inside with their laptops and such. The interior decor in here felt like a retro diner. Ordered after the guy in front of me, just a basic iced latte without ice because I wanted to save it for the next morning. Drink came out a few minutes after I ordered and I tasted it in the car, my mistake. I should've tried it when I got it because it needed an extra shot or something. We are very excited that a new coffee shop is at the village. My daughter and I came in this afternoon to give it a try, we both had the mint mocha coffee, which was delicious! It was very busy, but the line moved quickly. There was seating inside and outside we decided to stroll through the village drinking our coffee. All the staff was very nice and courteous, one of the staff members was walking around inside cleaning up, making sure everything looking nice. read more

I tried the famous Vanilla Latte. It was fine, but not standout. I also tried the Wake and Late breakfast burrito with bacon, which I was really excited about. It was 80% potato. Not terrible but $28 later and I just wasn't impressed for the money. I have been to a few other Alfred's - new and old. Today, I decided to check out the Topanga village location! I believe it's been open a week or so. I got the strawberry matcha and my sister got the lavender. - I used my gift card and it did not go through, when I was looking at the balance on my phone. Anyway - it wasn't THAT busy, it took about 5 mins for my sisters drink....and then for some reason, mine took another 10 mins? Which I'm not sure why. All other locations have their process and this was alllll out of order. I saw I wasn't the only one. The staff was friendly but could have been better? Went today for the grand opening to check out Alfred Coffee, in the former spot of Coffee Bean. It's small but quaint and clean. A decent amount of seating inside but don't expect like a Starbucks experience. Some seating outside though. I got the matcha chaggacino with oat milk. Just 12 oz though as I don't think I can handle any more with the espresso involved. Delicious and feel the caffeine rush. Wife got strawberry matcha latte and she liked it. The orders were done ahead of the expected time and placed in the pick up section as we did it via online order on the app to get the discount for first time users on the app. I like the pastry selection, def different from Starbucks and coffee bean. Next time I'll get the cinnamon croissant or vegan carrot cake. All in all a welcome addition to the village. read more

As a huge Alfred's fan & someone who even went to the grand opening of this location, I'm quite disappointed at how the service has been here. I think more training is needed before I decide to come back. Coffee ground were stuck to the bottom of my cup, the actual coffee tasted light, syrup was just sitting at the bottom, and it took almost 20 mins for coffee to come out. This is built within a business hub of Woodland Hills so of course so many of us are coming during our short lunch breaks. Would've helped if their app would work, but it was just randomly closed starting at 11 am... Really hope things can get fixed here. read more

I was excited waiting for Alfred's to open up after months of construction and have been deeply disappointed. I don't enjoy writing bad reviews but something is definitely off with their coffee. It tastes almost sour like. My coworker surprised me with coffee to try to make up for the first bad experience during their soft opening and it was nearly as bad. Ended up at the nearest Starbucks to make up for the bad coffee. Their steak burrito is alright, nothing special about it and considering the price it's very plain. Despite my poor experience at their encino location, I decided to give them a try again and get a latte instead of matcha this time. I explained to the cashier why I didn't enjoy their matcha and she recommended the vanilla latte. I asked for 2 pumps of vanilla instead of 3 because I didn't want it to be overly sweet. Drink 1/5 The color was so off. I know what a medium latte with 2 shots of espresso is supposed to look like. There was barely any taste of vanilla so I had to ask for more and it still tasted diluted. The espresso tasted burnt and sour. Most places make their own vanilla syrup in house and you can see the vanilla bean at the bottom but mine looked like cinnamon. Service 2/5 Cashier was nice. There was no line to order. However, I waited 15 mins to get my drink which is not realistic. Price 1/5 $8.20 for a medium sized iced latte that was completely underwhelming, a waste of time, and a waste of money. I literally make better lattes at home using a Nespresso machine. I have tried to give this place a chance and have been to their melrose, palisades village, encino, and now Woodland Hills location. Pros first: parking is easy since it's an outdoor mall, the space is cute and clean and the customer service was great. The cashier was lovely, honestly 10/10. Now... the coffee. I ordered the "world's best vanilla latte," and let me just say, that title is doing a lot of heavy lifting. I was handed my "hot" latte...took the first sip and it was lukewarm at best. Like... barely warm. I'm not one of the "extra hot" peeps . Just want to enjoy a hot drink hot. Deeply disappointing. Whyyyy? So excited to welcome Alfred Coffee to Woodland Hills! Visited them on opening day and the interior is SO beautiful! I had been waiting for them to open up since I first saw the signs go up. Their lattes are always wonderful, especially the pumpkin spice! Alfred's pumpkin spice latte is my favorite out of every coffee shop in this area. I look forward to it every year. Disappointed with the employees and service. We were so excited to try this new location, and as soon as we entered, everyone looked like they were being forced to work there--not even a hello. While ordering, the people at the register seemed beyond annoyed and cold. This location just opened, so I expected them to at least have half a smile on their faces, especially when so many places in the village close so often. It's a shame, especially after spending almost $100 and being expected to leave a $20 tip, which is beyond ridiculous. I tried this place to get a little treat while waiting for the pharmacy at Costco. I appreciate the plant-based options! I enjoyed the drink I got here the first time. It is a little strange that they don't take cash. It is pretty expensive. On my next visit, I was bummed to wait in line for about 10 min only to find out they were out of the plant-based cloud cream; I think a sign or something would be nice so people didn't waste their time. I had an order I wanted and a backup order just in case, but both were with the cream, and I didn't want to hold up the line coming up with another option; I felt really rushed. Okay, now it makes sense. I didn't know this location just had its grand opening when I stopped by prior to my Costco run for a couple lattes and pastry. The pastry came out nice and warm after about 10 minutes. Another 10 minutes go by before I get one latte. The 2nd latte came out about 5 minutes after that. By then, the pastry was already finished. First latte was barely lukewarm and the espresso so strong I'm still feeling the acidity 9 hours later. The interior of the shop is minimal and cute with ample seating but they really need to speed things up and check on the temp of hot drinks. I got steak burrito - a tiny burrito with aioli sauce - it was reheated and was very hot like when you try to reheat something in the microwave but forget to take it out in time and its like unpleasantly hit and kinda dry. Not the best container for the sauce too - when there is nothing to pour - the rest of the sauce stays inside and its hard to scrap it off.
