Came on a weekend and even though we had a larger party we were seated pretty quickly. i really like the pineapple pork chop sandwich, great balance of sweet and savory. The peanut butter toast was also rlly good. the green bean were very flavorful the century egg and pork congee had no pork and was not as flavorful as i'd liked. the rice and noodle dishes were decent, nothing too special. i really want to try the clay pot next time which is only available during dinner time

My first observation was that the staff are very efficient and dishes came out very quickly. They have a large selection of menu items, decent pricing, and the sizes are good for sharing. There is a fairly large indoor seating area, and a parking lot in the back. It can get busy and loud during mealtimes. A comforting meal if you enjoy HK cafe food!

I came to Alice's Kitchen with my family for a post graduation dinner because 1) This location is opened until midnight 2) The space can accommodate large parties. The thing is, I thought Alice's Kitchen was strictly a Hong Kong style diner, however, there is an entire section dedicated to Canto family style dishes. How lucky for me because it made ordering for my party of 11 seamless and easy. We ordered the following: -deep fried cod fillet with spicy salt ($13.95) -sweet & sour pork ($13.75) -kung pao chicken ($15.25) -beef chow fun. ($14.99) -yang chow fried rice ($15.50) -stir-fried string beans with minced pork ($14.99) Honestly, this was just as good, if not better than any Chinese family style banquet dinner I've ever eaten. Every single dish was solid and beautifully executed. Of course crowd favorites included the deep fried cod fillet and sweet and sour pork, but everything tasted as expected. Portions are generous given how reasonably priced everything is and ordering 2 of every dish was more than enough for my family. Our meal was very good and service was impeccable. I'll be back, I'll be back. For Hong Kong breakfast and everything else in between.

The decor is very unusual but also fun for many of us. I think it's unique and all over the place with displays of movie posters, random items, and miscellaneous things such as shirts and signs. It was quite busy, the place cannot accommodate a party of 10 or more as the largest table seems to fit 8 comfortably or 10 if 2 of them are children. The wait time was quite long for a party of 9, parties of 4 or less were able to get seated almost immediately. When seated, the table was one of the larger ones but still a quiet squeeze. We each ordered a dish which I got the sizzling ribeye with mushroom sauce and pasta while the kids got noodles. It took some time for food to come out, they came almost one at a time. One of our orders didn't come so we had to ask about it and it did eventually come (bbq pork with egg on rice). There's steak was thinner than expected so asking for medium rare seemed irrelevant as the steak became well done as it was on a hot plate. The corn was good, a few pieces of husk was found but not bad. The pasta had a heap of sauce which we actually liked. The kids ate the noodles, which was basically noodles with soybean sprouts. The night was quite busy and lots of people making it super loud. Service was slow, we had to Ariadne our hands quite a few times and sometimes had to get up to find someone to pack our food to go. Overall a good try, maybe we'll be back but not anytime soon as a big party.

Dined in for dinner around 9:30 PM. We had a group of 5. We were seated right away. The restaurant was 3/4 full. Atmosphere: It has a lot of old school items and it felt like we were in Hong Kong. Parking: Plenty in the back at this time. The front has parking as well. When we were there, a blackout occurred, but the staff reassured us we were okay. They provided lights and kept on checking up on us. I loved their enthusiasm throughout the night. I ordered the chicken steak with spaghetti and the lemon ice tea. It was huge and tasty. No complaints here. I would rate it 4.5/5! The lemon ice tea came with unlimited refills. The waitress was so nice to give us a drink to go without charging us.

This is a crazy outdoor vibe but indoors. It's like eating at an open market! Cute decor. Service was okay but can use some improvement. Didn't get a water refill. The food was great! I really like the rib eye flavor but it was a little tough. Also enjoyed the eggplant. The noodles were okay. I'd pick something different next time. Yummy BBQ pork in the egg dish. House Special Fried Vermicelli ($16.75) BBQ Pork w/Egg on Rice ($15.50) House Special Fried Vermicelli ($16.75) Ribeye steak with garlic sauce ($19.25) Comes with corn and rice Reasonable prices for the amount given. Plenty of parking in the back.

I need to confess something to you: I love Chinese food. However, it wasn't until the last few years where I've come to realize the distinctions between Hong Kong cuisine and mainland Chinese cuisine. It's been an exploration. But with each new Hong Kong style restaurant I try, the more expansive my view, and belly, get. Alice's Kitchen, specifically this one in Temple City, was a refreshing look at not just the food but the vibe as well. Design - Falling into a different world Walking into Alice's Kitchen from the back parking lot is like walking into a vibrant food court back in the 1980s. Bright neon signs are placed throughout the dining room floor, faux food stalls can be seen to give more of a community feel to the inside, and I love the sprawl of different props of newspapers, t-shirts hung on clotheslines, and big advertisements on the walls like you might see in a food court. It really elevated the atmosphere of the space and I loved their branded orange plates, bowls, spoons, and chopsticks. It gave whimsy to this place. Staff - Cool The staff here are like what you expect from any Chinese restaurant. You try to flag one down or grab their attention with your wandering eyes and when they come over you can tell them what you want. They take your order and usually within 5-7 minutes you'll start to see your food heading your way. Perfect for anyone hungry and dying to eat right away. When you ask for to-go boxes at the end of the meal (you definitely will) moments after you get your food packed someone will appear with a tablet ready for you to pay right there at the table. Talk about speed. Food - Onions galore I see that in Hong Kong cuisine there is this mix match of Western and Chinese tastes put together. This fusion of ideas is what brings something like their large pineapple bun sandwiches to existence. We got the BBQ pork (char siu) pineapple bun sandwich and this came warm with a fried egg, slab of butter, generous slices of BBQ pork, and a savory sauce. For one person, this could be a good main dish to be accompanied by a side. For this split between two people, this is a savory sweet dish perfect to wet the appetite. Highly recommend getting one of these. The sweet & sour pork was nostalgic to me. Served with chunks of white onion, green peppers, and pineapple the flavor of this reminded me very much of the sweet & sour pork Chinese-Korean restaurants serve, except for the color being different and no cabbage in the sauce. It has the sweetness brought out by the pineapple but still a bit of tang and deep savoriness of the pork with each bite. The onions were undercooked and you'll see this as a pattern for all their dishes containing onions. The French style filet mignon chunks were fantastic. Juicy and flavorful, each bite makes the mouth water more and more and the texture gave such pleasant mouth feels. The fried basil accompanying it also gave a burst of freshness and herbacious flavors. Just be careful not to accidentally bite into a chunk of ginger. Unless you love ginger. Then go right ahead. The beef chow fun with black bean sauce was great. Nice balance of their black bean sauce with the textures of the chunks of beef, the onions and peppers in this add a nice crunch and difference in flavor that balances all the savoriness. The tofu with spiced salt was also incredible. When I ate this still piping hot the crisp exterior with the hot soft interior made me smile. The spiced coating was flavorful and with some rice it gives a nice balance with each bite. Final Thoughts With all the food we got for dinner, I'm sure I leaned more into the Chinese cuisine side than the Hong Kong side. However, I was happy with the quality and depth of flavors in everything I had. Alice's Kitchen has definitely been one of the better Hong Kong restaurants I've had and I'm excited to explore more of this cuisine in the future. Can't wait to come back!

My boyfriend wanted baked pork chop, so we came here. I've never been to Hong Kong so I don't know what it looks like. But when I walked in, it felt like I could've been in Hong Kong. It was colorful and had night time, street-like vibes. We ended up getting the baked pork chop with pasta. Flavor was good. Not as cheesy tasting as other places I've had it at, which is a good thing for me. In general, I think the baked pork chop with rice is better, since I feel the rice absorbs the flavor more. I also got the salt and pepper pork chop, which seemed to be a popular dish here. The pork was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Service was good. They even pack your leftover food for you.

Great place for Cantonese style food! I've been here many times and it never disappoints! Honestly it's like comfort food for me, so I highly recommend checking it out. Some of my favorite dishes are the: seafood and tofu bowl and the egg, shrimp flat rice noodles

Had a great experience at Alice Kitchen for a family-style dinner. We made a reservation in advance for their 8-10 person set menu ($438), and it was definitely worth it. The biggest highlight is how convenient the set menu is--no need to think about what to order, and you get a wide variety of dishes. Every course we had was solid. Standouts for me included the braised pigeon, crispy beef brisket (crispy on the outside and tender inside), ginger scallion lobster, and the black truffle fried rice. The portions were generous, and everything came out well-prepared and flavorful. They also included a complimentary Ovaltine French toast for dessert, which was a nice sweet ending. We added the HK-style pork ribs as well, which were also very tasty. One thing to note: the restaurant is quite lively and can get a bit noisy, and there are no private rooms. Not a dealbreaker, but something to keep in mind if you're looking for a quieter setting. Overall, great food, good value for a large group, and a fun dining experience. Would definitely come back!

Located in Temple City (San Gabriel Valley LA) CA. Note that Temple City has a wok, and Monterey Park does not have wok. I brought some friends here. This is a Hong Kong cafe. Read the old review. We got some late after noon baked bolognese, chicken corn soup, singapore vermicelli, yu hsiang eggplant and the pineapple buns. I was with someone from Hong Kong, no complaints. We get the hong kong iced milk tea and the cold lemon iced tea. Service was pretty quick on weekday lunch. Will come again.

One of the better Cantonese restaurants! Food comes out quickly and served hot. Each dish was cooked well and was not sitting in an excess amount of oil. Really enjoyed their filet mignon black pepper dish and the salt pepper fried wings and squid combo. Service is quick and the staff is very efficient. Their decor is cute reminds me of Hong Kong life.

There were already people waiting and a decently sized line began to form! Despite the growing crowd, the person who helped us was very friendly and encouraged us to try all the flavors if we wanted to. While we tried each flavor, she described each of its components in great detail - something I truly appreciated!! Everything was delicious but I personally ended up getting the Mango Sago and Vietnamese Coffee (probably would not mix the two next time lol but delicious individually). The mango sago tasted like fresh mangoes and reminded me of a rich high quality mango sorbet. SO. Good. The perfect summer treat! Vietnamese coffee tasted exactly like how the drink would taste, which I was honestly surprised about since coffee ice creams are flavored a bit sweeter than the actual drink. It was perfect for me but may not be everyone's cup of tea because it does have bitterness :) The ambiance in there is amazing - details in every cranny and nook of the space. It's retro and very chill / relaxing! There are a very limited amount of tables but I did see stacks of plastic stools for people to sit on outside. Also there's a coin machine where you can purchase lactaid. A small gesture keeping the community in mind haha.

I was hoping to have my own AE86 built and ready when I finally stopped by, but maybe for the new location. As an honest critique of the actual storefront, the appearance and decor is very charming. In a very bright, Japanese themed cafe kind of way. But because this is an Initial D themed drink and snack spot, I can see this being a place where mostly guys use this place as a meet-up hub. Especially for a small car meet. Very niche right? Especially for the dying breed of 1980's 1990's - 2000's JDM cars. That said, how many guys in the city could you actually get to come here regularly for soy and soy-based accessories, drinks, and snacks? The dessert was okay, and I wasn't in love with the drinks. Light, tofu refreshing, but not captivating. Personally, the menu doesn't appeal to me, since I try to avoid soy since it tends to be a pro-estrogen consumable. I don't think they had to box themselves in into being a purely tofu-only cafe. They could sell tofu products, and also have something simple but repeatedly addictive; like In-n-Out, Wurstkuche, Howling Ray's, Tea Master Matcha Cafe, Savoy, Langer's, etc. The closest idea I can think of that would be forced into tofu would be like really excellent, authentic mabo tofu, agedashi tofu, or like a karaage or Tokyo fried chicken style fried chicken with a mabo tofu dipping sauce, heavy on the ma-la flavors. Hell, I might even stop by more if they imported more car parts, from like Impulse, TRD, or Apex'i. But the way the AE86 market is, it makes more sense to sell online to the global niche. Wonderful atmosphere and mood for the Initial D/MF Ghost/Subaru to Subaru fandom. It was fun just to follow on instagram and catch a glimpse of all the influencer personalities in the car community stopping by. I'll look forward to what their next Project T(ofu) looks like. See you next time, Space (cow) boy. Oh-oh-oh. I need you babe.

There's an underground lot for extra parking. Customers primarily order at the self-service kiosk. Customers must pay with card and insert phone number in the kiosk, but Customers can pay cash at the counter. Dine in customers grab a metal number that's stacked between the kiosks. Staff spoke limited English, but Staff is professional, diligent, and accommodating. My order took 24 minutes. As mentioned, I love the Creme Brûlée Soufflé Pancake ($17.50). It's plated and presented lovingly and seductively. It's memorable. With each motion, I bit hard onto its fluffy, lightly sweetened body. I savored how the creme brûlée's creamy sauce dribbled. It's layered, supple, and thick. I shake the plate. It dances. On ambiance, Motto Tea Cafe (San Gabriel) is comfortable. There's about seven interior tables and two counters. The music is slow-tempo and gentle. And it's clean. There's also a gender neutral restroom for customers. Overall, I created lovely memories at Motto Tea Cafe (San Gabriel). The wait is extremely long, but I found contentment at this journey's end. If you love wiggly pancakes & have plenty of time to spare, this is an easy recommendation. 4.8 out of 5

Souffle pancakes in different occasions always look so pretty, are the best everyone's ever had, some some flavor profiles don't work. Maybe that's why the menu sometimes changes. For example the yuzu grape was completely bland because the yuzu drizzle on top was a thin line i couldn't taste at all. At least put a spread between each layer or pour a lot on top like the others (eg berry or mango). The mint leaves was the most potent flavor in this dish. Over the grapes, blueberries, matcha powder, yuzu. Got the mango triple layer drink this time and if you drink it carefully, you can appreciate the contrast from the mango puree, the milk, the creamy salted matcha. If you just mix it up completely you won't get that affect. One thing that bothers me is because the menu changes I seem to always be unable to get something I'm thinking of from the previous visit. I recall last time I had some mochi and rice ball I added to a drink that was so damn good and I couldn't add it this time. Though I recall that drink being $11.50 from the add ons. The souffle pancake was $21... so place is $$ but again the quality is there. Service wise, never interacted with staff really. Kiosk to order. Drinks just sit at counter when done. Didn't call numbers. Oh they did bring the pancake, no words spoken.

Ordered a single shot espresso and the very popular butter pistachio donut. It was HUGE. I shared it with a co-worker as I knew there was just no way I alone could finish it. This thing was decadent... and totally up anyone's alley who has a severe sweet tooth. I typically do not like overly sweet things, but I have to admit, this was very good. The espresso was good and strong, and for me, a single shot was more than enough to get me through my morning. As I was the only customer in the place at the time, service was quick and friendly. I will definitely be back to try other donuts!

The…read morenew space is wide open, bright, and welcoming, with a couple of small tables inside plus some outdoor seating right on Main. I've tried a few of their mousse cakes and Portuguese tarts, and everything has been delicious. Those adorable fluffy animal cakes might look too cute to eat, but trust me, they're totally crave-worthy! As someone who loves anything chocolate or mango, I know I'll be coming back often. A fun treat to try: freeze-dried mousse cake bites. They'd make an awesome ice cream topping! Highly recommend stopping by if you have a sweet tooth.

Its a small shop on Main in Alhambra and there's a lot in the back as well as street parking. It's a brightly lit, pick up and go type place though there are a couple tables out front. The baked goods look really cute and enticing and I ended up going for a mystery box since I wasn't after a specific cake and the mystery aspect seemed appealing. I also got 6 egg tarts, which were a great price at $1 each. The baked goods/sweets looked better than they tasted flr me. The egg tarts had a texture that was a bit off putting for myself, it was more of a steamed egg texture than a silky custardy filling. Flavorwise, they were ok though. The mystery box was fun and I got an apple cake, peach cake, and a panda cake. Now the mystery box is day old cakes so keeping that in mind, they are like cream based "cakes" and are essentially cream covered gels/jellies of some sort. The flavor and textures were good, very light cream with strong fruit flavors (the panda was also a peach flavor, I think). As a set of the mystery box price, I think the cakes are fun to try but I wouldn't, personally, pay those prices for essentially shaped cream. I'm glad I tried a new spot but ultimately don't think it was super impressive and found most of their desserts and baked items to be average, or a little less so as for the egg tarts.

I had no idea that this place has middle Eastern roots, more specifically Egyptian flavors. I've…read morespent a lot of time in Egypt myself and seeing that the menu has flavors that you do not get to try anywhere else unless you were in Egypt definitely makes this place really special--and more so as ice cream! I was absolutely blown away with what we picked, they nail the nuanced flavors--very rich and creamy and not too heavy on the stomach, more so refreshing. I would encourage anyone not to be afraid to pick something they've never had and sample flavors you have no clue about, they went above and beyond to sample the flavors as they would be if we ordered them, including the toppings. My friend was absolutely blown away and texted his wife that he needs to bring her here, which I myself definitely plan on returning as well. I'm rooting for this business and hope you guys really take off!

They are located in Mills Alley in Pasadena just look for the bright red sign and signage promoting some flavors. We came by after having dinner. The staff greeted us as we walked in. It was empty when we initially arrived then more customers filtered in shortly after. Staff allowed to sample their unique flavor options. **To note, they offer a few vegan flavors for those with dietary restrictions**. Always a huge plus and positive! The flavors are middle eastern inspired and the details are all listed. My wife and I sampled 2 flavors and we both enjoyed our selections. The flavors are memorable. We happily decided on the Sesame Halve (vegan) & Pistachio Konafa with Chocolate Shell (+$1.00) for myself. The presentation is one of a kind! The topping with the tiny little rose is a nice aesthetic and definitely their trademark. The location offers retro and colorful style seating for 10+ customers if I had to guess . Patio seats are also offered outside. Also, OG Pac-Man arcades are available inside. My wife loved her Sesame Halva and my Pistachio Konafa with Chocolate Shell totally reminded me of a Dubai Chocolate type of vibe with each bite! The whole first time visit was positive and would make me want to come by again to try something else! Presentation on point! Flavors on point! Vibes good! Tummies happy! Come by and just try! Thanks, Kinrose Creamery! ( ^_^)b
