Update: After posting my review, I received a prompt message from the manager, YunTang. He followed up and let us know that he spoke with his cashier and packing staff, and that this issue should not happen again. I appreciate the quick response and attention. I am raising my rating to five stars because of the quality of the food, which is very good, and the three stars was simply because the issue was about the amount of condiments provided. Hopefully this will be resolved going forward. Thank you, YunTang.

Crunchy Spicy Tuna Roll and Shrimp Tempura Roll

Amber is really close to where I live so it's been on my list of places to try for a bit now! You can definitely tell this is a local favorite spot, since I see lots of takeout orders coming from here every time I walk past it, and when I went for the first time the other day-there were lots of people dining in for lunch! They have great deals at lunch, with lots of different specials for everyone! I got to sushi rolls, with miso soup and a salad for only $13! I got the crunchy spicy tuna roll and shrimp tempura roll and thought both were delicious and fresh testing! Will definitely be coming back here soon to try some more lunch specials!

I'm a fan of Amber's lunch special. For $13 you get two sushi rolls of your choice plus soup and salad. Many other places in the neighborhood only give you soup or salad for that price. Their dressing on the salad is very good and the quality of the fish is very fresh. Today I got shrimp tempura and salmon avocado rolls. I also like their teriyaki bento box lunch special.

Medium spice was not spicy at all for us. - Duck curry: a bit small on the portions but the curry is magical. Was scraping this plate clean. - Bo luc lac: star dish for sure. Beef melts on your tongue and the marinade is slightly sweet and smoky. - Summer rolls: small portions but the flavor is there. Super refreshing and special bc they pickle the vegetables inside. - Crispy pork belly: reminds me of the crispy pork I had in Vietnam. Really well done, pairs well with the lettuce and herbs. That green sauce is so addicting. - Papaya salad: super refreshing, nice fish sauce. - Crab fried rice: reminds me of the din tai fung fried rice bc of how clean the flavor is. Great dim ambiance for a date or dinner out. Definitely coming back soon.

The pad thai noodles are a big thinner than i've had before but that didn't bother me, it has such great flavor too. I recommend ordering it spicy, it's the perfect heat if you're looking for that kick but don't add it if you can't handle spice. The drunken noodles are not spicy in my opinion but i can handle a bit of heat. Loved the flavor and the noodles had the right texture, could've done without the huge chunks of tomato but great otherwise. The summer rolls were good, hard to mess those up. We also got a free mango salad with the order and that was so fresh and delicious. We just popped in for pick up but the hostess was really nice and attentive as soon as we walked in. It looked to be a nice casual spot, could be good for dinner with friends or date night.

Yes, we were seated at the communal table, which was off putting initially because we were looking for a more private experience and opportunity to catch up. However, we powered through and made the best of it. Service started off shaky and rushed initially, with incorrect drink orders presented. However once we all settled in things improved. The food was good and the atmosphere was lovely. A few entrée dishes were unavailable and required a little flexibility in the night's taste palate. Overall Thep was enjoyable and I would like to return now that I know what to expect. Just A Note: If a communal table is not ideal I would suggest reaching out directly to the restaurant to see if something can be arranged.

The service was pleasant, friendly, efficient and helpful from the minute we walked in without a reservation. The ambiance and decor was gorgeous and took me out of NYC for a moment. The phenomenal taste of the first sip of the Thai Iced Tea that paired so well with the rest of my meal is the reason behind the first picture I took. For the apps we ordered my favorite- Chicken Curry Puffs and Chicken Satay. The Chicken Curry Puffs were soft and perfectly mashy on the inside and had a perfect crisp to the layered outside. The Chicken Satay was so different here and yet so savory served with this soft garlic bread. The sauces were so fresh, vibrant and distinct and added to both the appetizers. The peanut sauce had crushed peanuts and was such an accompaniment to texture. For the mains, we had the Chicken Pad Thai and the Braised Beef Short Rib in Penang Curry. The Pad Thai was a great standard and tasty with the crisp sprouts and zesty lime. This Braised Beef Short Rib is where it is at! One of their house specialties- the decadent flavors and textures of this dish is something that will be memorable and just the right touch of spice. Lovely bright orange sweet potatoes and beautiful green beans went so well together with the beef and curry. Looking forward to trying more of their menu and not defaulting to my usual. Warmed up Chicken Pad Thai on the pan over the stove today in a little bit of butter, this was as delicious as it was going to get today. I missed one of the most exquisite Thai Iced Teas I've had in a while, it truly set the tone of how great this late lunch was.

The restaurant is quite small, with one table that seats 4, and seating at the window. There are 2 small tables outside, as well. Be careful when you go inside because there is a step after you open the door. Packaging was convenient with the handle around the sushi box. Overall, the fish was mediocre considering the price. Some pieces were soft while others were very stringy and chewy. I am not one to dip sashimi in soy sauce because I like to just enjoy the natural flavor of raw fish with a little wasabi. However, since the fish was a bit fishy, I needed a little soy sauce to mask the taste. The wasabi was also on the mild side, so I added more than I usually would. I would have rated this place a 3/5, if I did not find a hair sitting on top of the ginger...
