Been to this location twice and both times customer service is great! Both times coming here I had a nail in the tire on two separate vehicles, and needed to get it fixed. Everybody was helpful, first time around they had to replace the tire, but the price we paid for the tire wasn't bad at all, comparable to all other tire stores. Overall, everything was completed in less than 2 hours. Second time around, had a screw in another vehicle brought it in and they were able to see me immediately, and I was able to fit in an oil change as well. Being someone who would regularly take their car to the dealer for an oil change I was hesitant on getting an oil change at a tire shop but the price and convenience that I can get my tire fixed and get an oil change at the same time and save some time as well as save on cost was a selling factor. As I was leaving, a different employee comes running out and wanted to 'help" me. He did the same BS move of measuring the tread etc. He said my tire was shot , had a nail in it and not repairable. For all your tire needs I recommend American tire depot. They do everything here that deals with tires such as tire rotations tire patches and new purchases on a set of tires. I came in no appointment and I was greeted by a fellow named Larry. I told him I needed to get a tire patch on my back left tire and he said he he would meet me by my car. Now to a normal person you wonder why does he have to look at the tire shouldn't he just be able to patch it. Incorrect there are certain tools Larry used to measure my tires depth and assessed the flat to see if it was patchable. After his thorough investigation on the tire he said he was willing to proceed to patch it up to my relief. He kindly offered me the inside waiting room to wait for my vehicle which I happily took it was pretty chilly out. Was able to strike a conversation with Larry come to find out he's the store manager. Let me tell you in all my years of receiving service I rarely get such an amazing experience from a store manager like I did with Larry. This gentleman could easily just sit in the back office and just let the business run but he's out here getting his hands dirty. On top of that they put the spare tire back into its spot which is tough to put back together and they did it without me requesting it. If you're looking for a shop with integrity and honest mechanics, American Tire Depot in Oxnard the place to go. I put these guys to the test by using a scan tool prior to dropping my truck off for diagnostics, I knew what the issue was that needed to be fixed. The check engine light was on due to a misfire at the number five cylinder, caused by me loosening the bolt that held the coil pack in place. I dropped my truck off at 3:00 p.m. to have it checked out for a trip my wife is going to make to Death Valley. Taking it to the shop before her trip was for peace of mind that if it breaks down, I won't take the blame. An hour and a half after I dropped it ff I got a call from the shop. To my amazement, they told me exactly what was wrong, right down to the specific screw that was loose, and that tightening the screw and clearing the codes, the truck was ready to go. The diagnostic fee was $25. They offered to do some preventative work but explained that it was not vital at the moment so it was up to me. They didn't try to scare me into unnecessary work or up sale anything. After many years with bad experiences with other shops, I finally found one I can trust to do only the work that is needed for my vehicle to run the way it should. I'll be taking my BMW M5, Porsche Cayenne, and Porsche 911 Carrera to them in the future. This is a shop I would recommend to my wife, my girlfriend, my daughter and my mom so they won't get screwed dropping off their car. read more

Stopped in for free flat tire repair and although not required had previously purchased tires at the same store. The veteran store employee stated that the tire was not repairable due to razor blade length of the puncture. No problem, I agree. He then went on to say that all of the tires needed to be replaced due to excessive tread wear after quick use of his tread depth gauge. Strangely, the tire tread wear indicators were clearly below the tread surface with even wear across the tires, and when I brought this to his attention he then said that because the tires were made in 2019, they were too old. Also, The tires were not cracking, nor showing any signs of being weathered, and the car is driven short distances almost daily and tires are regularly rotated, aligned, and kept properly inlfated - thus the excellent wear. When he realized that I wasn't going to buy four tires he said, "I'm not going to waste my time," and walked away, not even following up with the flat repair. I went to a local Toyota dealer to double check and was told the tires did not need to be replaced. Unfortunately, if I had agreed, I could have unwittingly purchased a whole new set of tires spending hundreds of unnecessary dollars. read more
