The service was both excellent and charming. The menu was expansive and I was impressed by the amount of seafood dishes. The food was as good as we remember. Even without the buffet, our experience was amazing. We had the Samosas for an appetizer as well as the Chaat of the Day and Lentil Soup. Delicious. We had Goan Seafood Curry, Butter Chicken, Tofu Achari Tadka. Fantastic. Be conservative on requests for hot spiciness. The level three was perfect for me and I like spicy hot. This was my first visit to this restaurant. As soon as I walked in my first thought was how beautiful the restaurant was and hoping the food tasted as good. We no sooner sat down and our waiter showed up, took our order and our food came out shortly thereafter. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and it was beyond delicious. I grew up going to this place back when it was called Nawab. The food was always great and the environment was good. Have noticed many changes. Mainly there is not consistency when ordering by spice level. I like a good 4 out of 5. I have ordered to go several times and gotten a 2 or 3 in spice level. Went to masala craft after a few disappointing experiences and I've been there 4 times now. Will not be returning to amiraj - it's stuffy and not nearly as good. read more

I sat at the bar to order and was recommended many dishes that accommodated to my diet choices....gluten free, dairy free, and plant based dishes. The cauliflower appetizer was a home run. It you just want to try one thing I recommend that one. The salmon dish was packed with flavor, but I should have requested more spice for my taste. I was recommended a vegan desert that was tasty. The only item I did not enjoy was the roti....but the naan was suggested. I only chose different to avoid dairy. I will definitely go back to try some additional items. read more

Some of the best naan have ever eaten (fluffy, light, buttery),and the first time I've seen scallops on the menu of an Indian restaurant. My husband and I ordered take out during a December 2021 visit to the area. The food was both safe for gluten free eating and delicious. We especially enjoyed the Papad & Chutneys. The chutneys was so fresh and flavorful, especially the tomato one. Also enjoyed the two dishes we ordered Lamb vindaloo(spicy yum!) and Chicken Tikka Marsala (mild and flavorful). This was our first time here and we were very impressed. The service was great and the food was delicious. We started with appetizers Shiitaki Leek Tikki and Lamb Pepper Fry. Both were excellent. For dinner I had the Dal Makhni and I really enjoyed it. My boyfriend decided to get another appetizer for his meal and chose the Karara Murg. Portions were generous and we took a lot of leftovers home. We will definitely be back to try more of the delicious dishes offered on their extensive menu. I'd been wanting to try out Amiraj, and today I finally was able to. I found a very attractive dining room and pleasant, helpful staff. For medical reasons, I have some stringent diet restrictions and so needed some help with ordering. The waitress was great, and then the manager joined the conversation, and the two of them made some appropriate, appetizing suggestions. I felt heard and respected, instead of being treated as bothersome, as has sometimes been the case. Best of all, I was served a fabulous, tasty, interesting meal. I so miss Nawab. And the lunch buffet. I've probably gotten take out buffet over 1000 times in the last 17 years. I know this place has the same owners, but the food is now very expensive and I liked it better before. I tried to make my own buffet, ordering 4 entrees, naan, raita, mint chutney, and pakora. (For $73), and it didn't compare. The man on the phone who took my order was very short with me and after each item I listed he quickly replied with "what else". It left me feeling very uneasy. I felt like I was bothering them with my order. It was 5:05 and they'd just opened so I can't imagine anyone was busy. There were absolutely no niceties or any gratitude. It was offensive the way this man spoke to me on the phone. He also told me they did not have onion pakora, so I ordered the mixed veggie one, and got two some onion pakoras in the mix. So I guess they DO have onion pakora. He did not offer any extra info when I had a question. It was simply not a great experience ordering on the phone to this newly branded nawab. (Order was taken on 12/2/20 just past 5pm). Unfortunately I won't be going back. Nawab buffet was my go to lunch place for years. 2-10x per month. I'm so sad they're no longer. read more

Found this place online and decided to check it out; it was some of the best Indian food I've had. The chicken was juicy and felt very light (shrimp & chicken Zafrani).
