What a cozy and delicious meal! Came here for brunch on a Sunday. Everything was top tier from the latte to the french toast to the chilaquiles! Highly recommend both but if you're feeling something sweet go for the french toast and if you want savory go for the chilaquiles. The were perfectly crispy! Would absolutely recommend this place for a date, for a brunch with the girlies, you name it! There is a bar, some tables inside and two tables outside. Pro tip: this place gets hella busy but they do reservations - yay! So make sure to get one for the weekend! Parking was easy as I parked in one of the neighborhood streets nearby. It was two hour parking.

This was a great experience for comfort mexican food with modern twist! Service was excellent, kind friendly staff, and beautiful modern yet comfortable warm ambiance. Tacos: Huitlacoche - the kernels were good but mixed in with sweet corn was too sweet. I tasted more sweet corn than mushroom or huitlacoche, beans were good! Not spicy, could use a spicy salsa Chicharrón - excellent Shrimp - fresh, but too much cream sauce! The taco fell apart, more fresh condiments like cilantro and onions would have been nice vs so much sauce Barbacoa - it was good, but needed lemon, cilantro and onions! Birria especially goat or lamb is best served with fresh squeezed lemon and fresh condiments on the side for the palette's desire. Salsas and chips - fresh chips! Green salsa was good, red salsa had a flavor we couldn't pinpoint, canned chipotle maybe? Not our favorite. Tlayuda - not traditional, but the crunchy cheese layer was fun! We enjoyed it and would order one more for the table next time. Excellent and fresh Homemade Flour tortilla - yum! Homemade Corn Tortilla - a little dry, not too flavorful. Hopes for the future: I wish there could be a green salad, fish option, or other unique veggie sides like nopales, verdolagas, or mushrooms en chile that Mexican cuisine has to offer! Either way looking forward to trying lunch menu

Aguachile Verde

We came to try out Amor A Mi, and let me start by saying I probably ordered the wrong item, I had the aguachiles and it came with 3 rolled up potato tacos and to be honest the aguachiles were flavorless as well goes with the potato tacos nothing special about them. My buddy order the ceviche and it was flavorless as well. My friends daughters had the French toast but they didn't like it they all left more than half of their plate of the French toast, at that they didn't offer any kind of syrup. Overall the place is nice and clean and I'll probably come back but I will definitely order something else as for the seafood it's a no go for me.

Once again I saw this restaurant on my socials and I definitely had to stop in and try it for myself. I was not disappointed whatsoever. I was greeted with smile and a warm welcome. Very refreshing these days. The restaurant is very clean from the dining room to the restrooms.. The staff was so kind ,accommodating and very attentive. The variety of food is nice. The service was quick. The food was served at the right temperature. Everything ordered tasted fresh and delicious. I had a great experience overall. The pricing and the portions are reasonable. I will definitely come back again.

Mexican matcha (oat milk and palo santo) Light taste and refreshing Chilaquiles with green sauce delicious. We set outside. Even with the cars driving by it was very pleasant and relaxing. Friendly and relaxed service. No rush.

Came for Mother's Day brunch with the family and left impressed. The coffee by Civil Coffee is fantastic and the pan dulce is delicious. The inside is very unassuming much like many buildings you find in Latin American countries. The inside is really cute and makes you feel like you're not in LA. (Sometimes a plus ). The real star of the show for me was the service and the asada chilaquiles I ordered. The salsa verde is spicy and delicious! Definitely would recommend this spot, reservations encouraged.

Such good coffee, the Piloncillo hit that Americano in the sweet spot! The Mr. Had the Mexican Macha on ice was 10/10! The Chilaquiles with the green sauce is a must try! Absolutely cozy ambiance, fresh and coupled with friendly and QUICK service. I'd brunch there again anytime! Was a great pick me up after a long flight in!

I was in Burbank and wanted some breakfast that wasn't right next to the mall, this was the perfect spot! It was pretty busy so without a reservation we waited about 25 mins for a table of 2. I got the breakfast sandwich without chimichurri and it was absolutely delicious! It had thick cut bacon and lots of avocado. I also got a Mexican coke and it was just the perfect meal. There's a good amount of seating inside but the place isn't huge, very cute and cozy. There's also two tables out on their patio for dining as well, making it dog friendly!

I've been wanting to try this place out ever since it opened. I'm Mexican and I'm always searching for restaurants that have authentic flavors. As soon as I saw huitlacoche tacos on their menu, I knew I had to go. The inside was bigger than I expected with quite a few tables and plenty of bar seating. It would be a great place for a date or to have a conversation with friends. I love it when restaurants aren't deafening loud. I ordered the chips and salsa which was a generous serving and included both green and red salsas, a jamaica, a huitlacoche taco and their tlayuda norteña (skirt steak with veggies). Loved the salsa, especially the spicier green one but both lacked salt. The huitlacoche taco was tasty. The skirt steak was okay. The meat wasn't very tender, the entire plate also lacked salt. Also, it was served without a knife to help cut into the whole thing. I wouldn't order this again. Overall, I enjoyed my food and my time here and I'll probably be back. I'd love to try some of their breakfast items which all look and sound lovely.

Chilaquiles

I was looking for some chilaquiles around the area and stumbled upon this cafe. I got chilaquiles verdes with carne asada added. Maybe the best chilaquiles I've had! The chips were freshly made and super crunchy. The green sauce was in the spicier side, but I still really enjoyed it! The steak is cooked medium and was very tender. The service was awesome. They kept checking up to see if we were ok. It does get busy and reservations are highly recommended. I will definitely be back!

Frenchicano Toast

I finally got the opportunity to check out this pretty, laid back spot. It's a tiny restaurant that is open to reservations. They were extremely kind over the phone and worked with me to make a reservation for about 10 people. While they were able to accommodate a large party for me, I would recommend this space for smaller groups. The food was delicious and I was impressed by the menu creativity, specifically the tinga masala taco, chino poblano tacos, and menoodles. I also loved the idea of a tres leches inspired French toast, but I would recommend the frenchicano toast as a strictly dessert menu item. As delicious as it was, it was incredibly sweet. Every taco and ceviche I tried also tasted amazing, but I was disappointed with the amount of meat in the ribeye taco. I understand it's a thin rib eye, but it honestly didn't feel like I was eating a taco with any meat and I'd rather have skipped it and tried another taco. I loved their coffee though! I have never seen a coffee shop offer flavors like palo santo or nogave. The mole mocha latte was also a favorite at our table. I would definitely come back here with a small group of friends for brunch.

I've heard many good things about this restaurant so I decided to give it a try last weekend. It was surprisingly empty for a weekend afternoon. The space is beautiful: warm and welcoming, yet modern. Their brunch menu has several different options, some with a touch of Japanese fusion. I was intrigued! They also had a limited cocktail menu serving agave wine-based drinks. However, even though the space and menu piqued my interest, my experience left much to be desired. Since there are only three options for cocktails, I ordered a margarita. It was a straightforward drink. I had agave wine before, but this drink was a little weak. A $14 drink should not taste so watered down. The rim packed more of a punch than the actual drink. For food, I ordered their aguachile and tako (octopus) taco. The aguachile lacked flavor. The "agua" (marinade) was missing spice and sour notes. I don't know if this is how it's typically served here or if it was a bad batch, but I've had this dish many times before at other restaurants and there is so much depth of flavor and the marinade is usually less broth and a little more chunky from the blended ingredients. I will say that I at least liked the potato flautas that were mixed in. The octopus in the tako taco was cooked well. I enjoyed the texture. I would've enjoyed this more if it was just the octopus by itself. The menu listed a togarashi salsa macha. I didn't taste any of this on the taco. I love salsa macha and togarashi individually, so I was excited to try this fusion. Either the flavors were so subtle that they were not apparent or they forgot to add it. I hope (and assume) it's the latter because salsa macha has textural components that I would've noticed. Another miss on this was the tortilla. I love blue corn but my tortilla felt undercooked (and my friend's felt overcooked). I'm usually willing to give places a second shot, but after this restaurant was recommended by friends and oversold on social media, I'm unsure. It's possible they had an off-day in the kitchen and failed to cook things properly or add necessary ingredients. I know the server was new, but I don't know if the same applies to the kitchen staff. I hope this review serves a constructive purpose to reevaluate their menu items and preparation.

Chilaquiles and steak
Mara G.

The coffee was pretty but I think regular coffee with refills for the flavor and price is the way I would go next time. The Chilaquiles verde with steak was delicious and esthetically pleasing. I would recommend it. The service was very pleasant but give yourself some time they're busy even when they are slow. For these items one person plus tip it was a $40 breakfast. I could have lowered the tab by not adding steak and having a plain coffee. I did like that all the extra costs were clearly stated on the menu so no surprises!! Enjoy!!

First off, the space itself is legit. Big, open, modern Mexican vibe with high ceilings, warm lighting, and a mix of rustic wood + polished finishes. There's a long bar that feels like it's always ready for pre-game action, TVs scattered throughout (CLUTCH for keeping an eye on sports), and some nice design touches, think agave-themed accents, textured walls, and a slightly upscale lounge feel without being stuffy. It looks like a place where you want to post up, grab a marg, and ease into the night. Now... here's where things got a little sideways. We rolled in at 5:30 before a Los Angeles Kings game, and were told we couldn't sit until our full party arrived. Mind you... the place was maybe half full at best. That's a tough one. You're basically telling a ready-to-spend group they can't order drinks yet. That's an easy extra round (or two) left on the table. #ANNOYING That said... once we got past the front door situation, the night rebounded nicely. Shoutout to server, 'Zagid C' and the rest of the staff, they were on point. Attentive, friendly, and kept things moving, which is key when you've got a game clock looming. Big difference-maker. They even brought out a fun little birthday firework moment at the table, nice touch. Happy B-Day, Dan. Food-wise, it delivered. My wife is OBSESSED with the warm beans that come with the complimentary chips, like, borderline fighting-over-the-last-scoop status. YUM. I'm a creature of habit here and went with the 4-street taco combo (steak, chicken, carnitas, shrimp). Solid across the board, good flavor, hits the spot every time. Big portion of food. And yes... I absolutely appreciate the TVs. There's something comforting about being able to track pre-game coverage while you're knocking back tacos and a cocktail. Priorities. Net-net: Sol Agave worked its way back into my good graces on this visit. Strong service, good food, great pre-event energy. But that "entire party must be present" seating rule? BOOOOOOOOO.

An evening here feels, at first, like an invitation into something refined--dim lighting, polished interiors, and a menu that promises indulgence. The mole poblano delivered beautifully: rich, layered, and deeply satisfying. The ahi tuna ceviche followed with freshness and elegance, showcasing the kitchen's true capability. However, not every detail carried that same intention. The guacamole lacked depth and seasoning--unexpected for a restaurant at this level. But the most defining part of the experience happens before you even sit down. With valet as the only real parking option (approximately $35), guests are required to wait outside in a crowded, unpredictable environment. During my visit, the atmosphere felt chaotic and, at times, unsafe. What stood out most was the absence of a consistent, visible security presence at the entrance. For a restaurant of this caliber, a dedicated security guard stationed at the entrance should be standard--not optional. Managing the valet flow, maintaining order, and most importantly ensuring guests feel safe and comfortable should be part of the experience. Javier's delivers moments of excellence on the plate--but true luxury is holistic. It's not just what you serve, it's how you protect, welcome, and elevate your guests from the very first step.

I tend to believe that the more "upscale" a restaurant tends to swing, the more critical you tend to be of the reviews. I don't necessarily think it is fair to judge a place on criteria you wouldn't judge a more economical restaurant on. With that said, I give my experience 5 stars. First off, you enter and the space is just absolutely stunning. The design, aesthetic, beauty, live plants, open windows, the two bars. Everything was amazing and beautiful. When we came early at 5pm, the restaurant was pretty empty; however, by the time we left at 7:15pm, it was pretty darn full, and that should speak volumes for a Wednesday night. Our server for the evening was Ivan. Ivan was very efficient, pleasant, attentive and was around when we needed him to be. They do bring out complimentary chips and salsa. Our table shared an order of the Guacamole. The guacamole was delicious, pure and simple. It was well worth the money spent. Our table also shared the Ensalada De Asada. It was some delicious greens with skirt steak, avocado, cucumber, onions, tomatoes, gorgonzola and an absolutely fabulous honey mustard vinaigrette. For my entree, I had the Enchilada's De Camaron, or shrimp enchiladas. It was so yummy. They were two large enchilada's with a delicious butter sauce, a generous amount of shrimp and cheese with some sour cream or crema on top. So yummy. For dessert, we shared an order of the churros, which was equally delicious. Overall, we had an excellent experience. May I recommend two things that could have been improved upon and one suggestion for the future. #1 - It took several attempts to get silverware for our table. I think this should have already been on the table, or given by the host upon being seated. #2 - Please take care of water refills. Water was not refilled unless we specifically asked. And my one suggestion is to consider a green salsa as well with the complimentary chips and salsa. Overall, this was an excellent visit and I would most certainly visit again in the future.
