Colossal disappointment! Amores was my standard go-to for veal parm. Haven't been there since it was sold to a new owner. Tonight will be my very last time to eat at Amores Italian in Snyder Plaza The decor of all the Mona Lisa's are gone. Instead, the cheapest art glass I've ever seen adorns the walls. The service was actually terrible. My second glass of water finally arrived about 10 minutes after I had finished eating. I ordered a pizza as an appetizer. It was delivered to my table a few minutes after they served the entrees. Hamburger pizza. Next to no flavor. Wasn't greasy but looked and felt wet. My veal parm was so salty, I could not eat it. Like they actually forgot the sequence and salted my food 3 times. Salt is not healthy. The eggplant parm was tough. So ambiance- meh; Service C-; food D at best. Not joking, possibly the worst restaurant dinner I've had. A McD hamburger and fries would have made more sense. Goodbye Amores. And no, I didn't complain to the manager. 3/4 of all the food left on our plates might be a clue and I didn't want the aggravation. My advice. Pick literally any other restaurant, it will be better. read more

Normally this place is great and friendly. Today, it was neither. I've been a long time customer here and have recommended this place to many people. For starters, the host didnt smile when he attempted to greet us. The margarita I ordered tasted peppery and not good at all. The chicken caprese looked good but was very bland. No seasoning or flavor like usual. My friends side of zucchini was burnt to high heaven. The soft drink i ordered was flat. May be the carbonated filters. No apologies. He seemed in a rush to get us out of there. Here's the funny part. We were the only ones there! Not happy. He didnt care. Apparently, the cook on Sundays is different from the weekdays. The fact he didnt care hurts more than anything. The other guy is way nicer and their cook knows that he is doing. Its hard to screw up a house margarita, but he did it today. read more

Caesar salad had fresh Parmesan, lite dressing, yummy croutons. The house salad also very tasty-excellent light vinaigrette. We had the pasta carbonara-huge portion! Very flavorful. The eggplant parmesan came with a pasta marinara side. So many slices of eggplant! Perfect sauce-tomatoey without too much salt. Really good. Desserts were very tempting. Great wine and cocktail selection. They offer wine tastings on occasion. Summary Our daughter suggested a meet up at this historic Italian restaurant and we are so glad she did! Came here tonight for dinner for the first time and it was fantastic. We have been meaning to come here for years! One of my girlfriends raved about it and every time we drove by it was packed. In Feb of this year Amore catered an event at HPUMC and the food was so, so good. I liked it so much that I tried the restaurant out and have been kicking myself for not eating here sooner. I recommend starting with the caprese salad, that consists of 4 slices of tomatoes with basil and mozzarella drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette. For main courses, the linguine and clams, manicotti, and lamb chops were very tasty. The service was also great. Approached about drinks when needed, without being too much. Amore effectively shuts down at 8 pm, and very unapologetically so. Perhaps this is why it attracts a disproportionate number of guests over the age of 50. It's not the type of place you would go if you're looking for contenders for a Michelin star or aiming to spot someone on the A-list. Is the food unique and memorable? No, the menu offers classic Italian favorites, pasta specialties, and pizzas...something that one would expect from a favorite neighborhood restaurant. Does the ambience knock your socks off? Let's just say, for me, it's a place that conjures up "Scenes from an Italian Restaurant, " that old Billy Joel tune. If you want to snag a table at 7:00 PM, you're likely to find the place full of folks who have been regulars from the neighborhood for decades. Cue up Billy..."We'll get a table near the street. In our old familiar place. You and I, face to face. A bottle of red, a bottle of white..." And the service? It's always prompt...but then again, Amore is a small place with five or six booths, and maybe ten tables. Yep, Amore is one of my favorite places to go over and over and over again and enjoy a four star experience, with three-star food, ambience, and service. And kudos if that makes sense. My family has been going to Amore for 20 years. Sometimes we eat there, most times we do pick up and eat at home. We did pick up tonight and when we got home, the order was all wrong. I called Amore thinking they would make good on the wrong order, but the manager was extremely difficult to deal with. He would not own up to the mistakes and make good on the bad order. It was a bad enough experience that we are terminating our relationship with Amore and moving to another Italian restaurant. Food is excellent with upgrades to menu BUT the takeout service seems to have collapsed. I tried to order spaghettini (which is on the menu). The young guy who answered didn't know what it was, tried to give me fettuccine, ended up giving me plain spaghetti. He seemed completely unfamiliar with the menu. When I showed up, half my order was missing from the bag (not from the check). When I pointed this out, the same guy said "I'm sure they MADE it." But they hadn't. I waited 10 mins for two salads. You can come here with friends and have a great meal, share stories, and feel like you are just part of the family. During our most recent visit I enjoyed the lobster ravioli. The sauce on this dish was fantastic, it was rich yet allowed the flavor of the pasta and the filling from the ravioli shine. The cook was a perfect al dente and it was served with some nice asparagus. Amore is a family run restaurant and it is not uncommon to see three generations of the family actively involved in running the restaurant. You are greeted in as family when you come in the door and they provide great service. Amore is BYOB so stop by the local grocery store before you arrive and pick out a bottle to bring. They will open it and provide you with the wine glasses. This is one of those hidden gems that you need to know about to get some great tasting Italian food in the Grapevine area. read more

Another great dinning experience. We met some friends there and it was a party of 5. We had 3 appetizers: calamari light and tender probably one of the best around, meatballs with sauce moist with great flavor, garlic bread with an olive spread was ok. Entrees- Chicken Genoese delicious, pasta with oil and garlic delicious, veal parm delicious, veal piccata delicious, polenta side delicious and the salad was ok. Several has the minestrone soup but I didn't taste that one although they said it was great. The restaurant is super small and no reservations are accepted. We waited about 30 mins on a drizzly Saturday night around 645. The man that appeared to be the owner or manager was funny and attentive, the waiter was good too but you could tell he was really busy. There is one restroom for women and one for men. I would agree with the other reviews. I've been coming here since 1992 and it was amazing at one time. It's no longer amazing. All three of our dishes were bland and not fresh. I took my daughter and son there because I wanted them to have great Italian food and it was very disappointing. My 17 year old was shocked that I raved so much about the place.
