The food was great. However, I didn't like the fact that they ran out of champagne an hour before closing

My office is located downtown and I've seen this cafe a few times but had never tried it before. On June 29th, 2016 I decided to pop in to make a to-go order. Big mistake. Experience: When I first walked in with my friend, I was instructed by the host to find a place at the bar so they could take my order. The place was empty so I figured we wouldn't have a long wait. After 10 minutes the bartender finally appears and begins to flirt around with a couple other bar patrons. She finally notices my friend and I and gives us menus so we can make an order. She continues to flirt around with other patrons, and a couple other people take seats at the bar and make order to eat in the restaurant. After 15 minutes Maddie delivers those people their food and takes my credit card that I had sitting in the payment booklet. When she brings back my card, she laughs saying "I gave your card to those guys!" (two men at the bar, they are laughing too making credit card fraud jokes) I just stared at her and the men and said, "That's not funny at all" and I take my card back. The men leave and still after 40 min my to-go order has not been delivered. We see Maddie looking frantic behind the bar, clearly she's wondering where my order is. She does a panicked run around, she'd probably forgotten to put my order into the kitchen or something between her flirting. I told my friend that I'm just going to leave despite already paying. I changed her tip on my credit card receipt to $1 from the original $3 I had left her on a $9.84 bill. About 5 min after I did this my friend and I get up from the bar to leave and here comes Maddie with my to-go bag. We say thanks and leave, muttering under our breath that we will never come back. Today, July 4th, I go to check my bank account so I can pay bills. I notice there are 5 separate credit card charges and cancelations on my card from 'Another Broken Egg Cafe' on June 29th, for various charges totaling to around $50. Thankfully my suspicions about Maddie's integrity led me to hang on to my receipts. I have proof of my order amount and you can even see my original total of $12.84 when I had left my original $3 tip. Credit card fraud is no laughing matter, and neither is accidentally handing one patrons card to another. It's understandable that little mixups can happen, but staff should never handle these situations as if it were a funny joke. If my card was swiped to pay someone else's bill and then cancelled, then of course charges and cancellations will be expected on my card statement; but to not inform me of this is just not good practice. This establishment needs to better educate their staff on these matters. Food: I got back to my office and was thinking well, hopefully the food will make up for the poor service. I opened the box and a nicely presented black bean burger with potatoes was a pleasant surprise. But, as expected, the food was just as terrible as their service. The burger had barely been cooked, it was more like a mound of smashed beans. Black bean burgers should be slightly crisp on the outside in order to hold their shape. The burger had a bland taste and combined with the mushy texture it was too disgusting to even choke down. The potatoes were just plain deep fried pieces. They weren't even seasoned, so nothing special there. The only highlight of the meal was a quarter of a dill pickle they had included lol So if you've taken the time to read this, please do not waste your time going to Another Broken Egg Cafe. I had mistakenly thought it was a cute local restaurant, but it's actually a chain. Think of it like a more expensive version of IHOP. There are so many awesome places to go in downtown Nashville, DO NOT GO HERE. And even if you don't mind chains and just want a quick meal, DO NOT GO HERE. *Edit* I actually wasn't going to take the time to even write a poor review of this place because I originally attributed the experience to Maddie's terrible service, but after seeing my credit card statement I figured it's best to inform the restaurant and others of how terrible this place is. read more

The wait is always long, but worth every minute! I love love love this place - EVERYTHING has been sinfully delicious every time I've gone.

I've been waiting - quite impatiently - for ABE to come to Nashville. Today I am ecstatic! This place is beautiful! The food is just what you would expect from such a place - spectacular! Jo, my server, went far beyond what you would want in the way of great service. My regret is that the restaurant is 10-15 miles from home, though that is probably good because I would probably be here every day if I lived close! This place is to die for! I remember going to one years back in florida, and when this place opened I was so excited! In Florida I got the Floridian omelet- with cream cheese, crab, and green onions- so I decided to see if it was as good as I remembered. It was better! So amazing. Popular spot though so choose your time wisely! We had to wait 45 minutes or so- but best breakfast I've ever had. read more

I LOVE this restaurant and the food is on par with their other location including my favorites in the 30A area of FL! The ONLY drawback is the complete and utter inefficiency of the Sunday brunch bartender. It was painful to watch and it took over 15 minutes to get drinks while sitting at the bar. It wasn't even due to being slammed, just amazingly slow. Other servers would jump behind the bar and make 5 drinks compared to her one. Yikes. Very pleased and excited that this moved right next to my law office. Went over there having never ate at a Broken Egg Cafe before and was very pleased. I got the southwest scramble with tomatoes on the side and the eggs were great and the tomato was good too (which sometimes doesn't happen). My friend got the mixed veggies for her side and I enjoyed them too. In speaking with the manager who stopped by the table to see if we liked everything, they put very little salt and pepper which is awesome for people who don't want to be swollen every time they eat out! I can't wait to go back and try the salads next as they looked awesome going by us to other tables. read more

I've eaten here twice, the food is so good. I have no complaints regarding the menu. I had the Cafe Burger and the King Edward and both were great. I give a three star because the wait time to enjoy this great food is ridiculous. Both times it took 30-45 minutes to receive the food. When you're on an hour lunch break that does not cut it. I'd say a to go order may be better but heard it's just as bad. I'm convinced they cook meals one table at a time. Be prepared to sit for awhile before eating. read more

Visited this spot during my weekend stay in Nashville. Great place. We loved the food, atmosphere and staff. I ordered the French toast and it was delicious. The coffee was definitely one of the best we had all weekend. It was pretty busy (30 min wait) but definitely worth it. Truly recommend!! read more

Tried this place once and had decent food and good service. Good spot to work a hangover when you don't feel like walking too far from 2nd and Commerce. This place was right next to my condo so it was perfect for to-go breakfast to bring back to eat in your underwear. If you have time for a short walk or drive there are other places nearby I think are much better for the price point. read more

Just left here. They had 6 empty tables and refused to seat anybody because of a company policy of if the kitchen is backed up they will not seat customers. We would rather sit and wait at a table with a drink than wait in the front or outside in the cold. They lost ALOT of business in a 20 minute period. Believe me Nashville will wait in a line around the block but not if there are empty tables. Pfunky Griddle and Demos gained some extra business today. Hate this for this Nashville location. We eat here in Florida a lot and love Another Broken Egg. There was also a bird loose in the restaurant that no one was doing anything about. read more

Great breakfast eatery. We went early as reviews said there were often queues, we were fortunate and were seated straightaway. Lots of choice (the calorie count was very helpful!) and when it arrived was lovely and filling. The service was excellent. This was our first time at Another Broken Egg cafe in Nashville. We have been to other locations. As for this visit, Jo was our server and she was very pleasant and courteous. As for the food, we waited 40 mins for our food after ordering. The quality was excellent, but the speed was poor. The Brie was good, but not great, knock you down awesome. We will return in the distant future when the reviews start saying that speed was increased. read more

Came here with a large group for cma fest from out of town. Having the nowait app was awesome. I put my info in for 7 people at my hotel and by the time we walked over our table was ready. The hey Lucy was delicious. It was the perfect portion size. The drinks were great. We had bloody Marys and mimosas. The service was quick and the staff was very attentive and friendly. As returning costumers, I had obviously enjoyed the place enough to return with my mother and grandmother. This place is honestly not worth the wait. We checked in online at 10am, the app said we'd be seated at 10:39. After being seated at 11:10, we ordered immediately (we had plenty of time to decide while waiting). we waited FORTY minutes for food, finally asking for a manager who claimed that he didn't know what the problem was, but that he would cover the food. Our food finally came out 10 minutes later, so we assumed the order had gotten lost. But it arrived 50 minutes from the time we ordered it, and it would have been fine had the food been warm, but what we were served was brought at room temperature. My poached eggs were completely firm, the meat was cold, and our waitress was less than kind regarding the entire situation. The crab Benedict was room temperature, and when we asked for extra hollandaise sauce, what came to us was some mystery sauce that had been pulled out of the refrigerator. The Peach Cobbler pancakes were also served at room temperature, so evidently our food had been sitting for a long time. We watched food come out all around us visibly hot. So we are leaving with empty stomachs, and 2 hours of our day wasted. The only redeeming factor was the manager who comped the meal and provided us with a gift card for a returning visit, although not too inclined to return. Not to mention there's no validation for parking, so be prepared to spend an extra $20. read more

If you've ever visited A.B.E. at the Vinnings in Atlanta do not expect the same greatness. My family and I (3adults 1child) knew going in the wait would be probably 40-60 minutes, we were right about 40 minutes. So we get seated 11:21am everyone went ahead and figured out what they wanted so when the waiter came to the table to get drink orders we went ahead and put our food orders in too. Waiter came at 11:24 we placed our orders and waited...and waited...and waited...finally it came after noon. My fathers pancakes were cold and so were his eggs. After telling the waiter, the waiter looks at my father and says "at this point and time what would you like, I can take it and have them microwave it or put it back on the grill?" Are we serious??? So you mean to tell me as a waiter that's all you can think to do? It wasn't till I said seriously you need to take it back throw this away and make hot fresh food. WTH! Now in ATL I've waited over an hour for a table but usually have never waited longer than 20 minutes for food, and I'm not paying $10 per hour to park. Soooo in the end I won't be back. If you go expecting the quality of A.B.E. Vinnings in Atlanta you will be disappointed. read more

The drinks were delicious. The place was packed and had to wait an hour to get seated. I ordered the chicken and waffles. The chicken was over cooked and dry. The waffle was very good. Everyone else enjoyed what they had. But I didn't like waiting an hour for over cooked food so I was a little disappointed. Also, one of the people I was with had to send hers back because it was made wrong. Maybe we just hit it on the wrong day. read more
