Visited on a Friday night at around 6pm. Complimentary valet parking is great although it usually isn't difficult to find a parking spot either. Hostess greeted us and told us that we could either sit in the restaurant or at the bar as there was still happy hour. At the bar, we could also order from the regular dinner menu. We ended up opting for the dinner menu and ordered a calimari, poke bowl and gumbo. All were great dishes, large serving sizes, and actually resulted in takeout containers. While we were deciding what to order, we munched on sourdough bread. The staff was very courteous coming by several times throughout our meal, and even charged the phone of my friend who was visiting from out of town. The view is also fabulous, right on the water and north of the ferris wheel. I will need to go back another time as I see on the website there is a 4 for $24 meal option I would like to try. read more

The location of course is gorgeous, especially on a beautiful sunny day like it was yesterday when I went. You sit on the dock and view the marina full of boats and can view the mountains in the background. Gorgeous. I am sure the view is partly what you are paying for when you pay for those higher priced meals. The meals are incredibly overpriced. I have been to my share of nice restaurants and know what quality tastes like, this Anthony's just does not provide that. We first started out with the coconut prawns as an appetizer priced at almost $11 for four small shrimp, the salmon poke and oysters. I do not recall the price on the latter two appetizers but I assume they were over priced. All of the appetizers were delicious though! I loved the oysters and the shrimp. The poke had great flavor. As far as our entrees go, we all ordered a seafood entree and found that the portions were very small and again over priced. My ciopinno was very salty and not very flavorful. The crab cakes were just full of pure crab and fried, same with the halibut cakes. The halibut that my boyfriend got was alright, they didn't put much effort into the entree. The fish was just covered with cheese and roasted. Meh. The service was great though, we had an amazing waiter and he was very knowledgable and helpful. No, we're talking "several people complain to the manager about waiting 45 minutes for the first round of drinks and we're not going to apologize or even acknowledge that it took forever for you to be served, and we're even going to argue with you about how long it took." I'm willing to forgive poor service; life happens, and sometimes a place gets slammed and they can't handle it. But it's not forgivable if, once you complain to the management, nothing improves, and you get nothing but attitude. Sorry, Anthony's. Your food is fine, but I'm treated better elsewhere. The Anthony's location on pier 66 offers 2 dining options. The more formal Anthony's located on the upper level, and the Bell Street Diner on the street level. The former has a casual atmosphere with nice waterfront views. Weather permitting there's an outside eating area to enjoy. The food here is pretty much as their name suggests, diner. Nothing special but nicely prepared, consistently good food. Expect to pay about $20-$30 per person for eating here. I've enjoyed the razor clams as an appetizer. Oysters are always pretty good. Fish tacos, the tempura battered fish and their rice bowls are also good. Mussels and mash is a favorite item to order. They always have fresh fish so you can't go wrong with the fresh fish menu items. Nice place to take out of town guests for a waterfront meal. read more

The view, patio and location are great. The food is pretty good, but management here needs to step it up. The tables and stools had a dirty film across them, despite there being 2 or 3 people standing in the back doing absolutely nothing. Being the only 2 people in the restaurant, it still took 15 minutes to get my food. I had to walk up and ask for my clam chowder after 15 minutes because the food runner completely forgot about it. The bathroom floors were wet and smelled of old fish. Normally, I don't complain too much about these things, but these things really stand out when I'm the only party being served in a restaurant that seats maybe 30 people inside. It's almost embarrassing that they have a classy and upscale sister restaurant. Now, about the food... the clam chowder was excellent. Don't miss the salmon fish and chips. I came here with my boyfriend late in the evening. I ordered the Saffron Curry Mussels with mashed potatoes. It was so good, and I recommend it to anyone that loves seafood. I thought that the mashed potatoes was a weird combo, but it was actually really good. My boyfriend ordered the rockfish tacos which was really good as well. I had the $20 seafood chop-chop salad here and it was Mediocre City. I think that by "basil vinaigrette" they mean "oil with a pinch of vinegar and maybe some green food coloring." I had to ask for extra dressing and even then I had to dump a bunch of salt on the salad to taste much of anything. Meh. The waiters all seemed a little out of it. The only thing this place has going for it is the location and the view. If it were located further away from the water I don't think most people would bother with it. Our little group contemplated eating at the more formal Anthony's upstairs, but weary after a full day of sightseeing, decided we were in more of a casual dining mindset. We definitely made the right decision there because this place was great! In a city known for seafood, the Bell Street Diner is a fun little gem that offers great food and fab views at a price that won't bankrupt you. I had the mussels and mashed potatoes which were outstanding. One of my dining buddies had the fish tacos and they were delightful. Also great were the various seasonal rhubarb cocktails which were just the perfect amount of sweet. I would definitely return here the next time I'm in town and would recommend it to just about anyone. read more

This is not Anthony's Pier 66 restaurant with the "sit down" dining room... THIS... is the walk up window on Pier 66 that serves the best fried seafood in Seattle! Years ago, (yes, the review is late, but trust me, this place left a lasting impression on my taste buds), my mom and I spent a few day in the lovely Emerald City. Ah, Seattle, how you have my heart. Anyhow, after the long drive up the PCH, we were starving and wondering around the waterfront searching for something to have for dinner. Leave it to us to sniff out the most amazing little walk up window. I also had no idea at the time that this place was connected to an actual sit down restaurant; it looked like a window, in a wall. I had ZERO expectations from this place; I was just trying not to starve to death. I ordered scallops. I can't remember what my mom ordered, fish maybe, but I remember vividly those being the best fried scallops I've ever had. Ever! We sat at a little picnic table surrounded by the Sound and a hell of a lot of birds. It is one of those settings that you know memories are going to be made. We ate our way around the city that stole my heart, and every time I think of Seattle my mind immediately turns to Anthony's. I almost puked after taking just one bite of my food -- it was a pity because the food was probably ok, but the sauce they had served with it had gone bad. It was foul, nasty, and very rotten. I mentioned the rotten sauce to our waiter but got completely dismissed: he took the sauce from me, said "No, we made it this morning.", went on with his business and... that was that. Love this place. Great location, right on the pier. I've eaten here quite often, it's normally the highlight of any trip to Seattle. I've ordered Halibut Fish & Chips, every time I've eaten here. It's not the menu, it's pricey, but way worth it. Coconut Shrimp appetizer is a bit small, but really good. My buddy raves about the mussels, won't share them with anyone, eats the whole pot himself. It appears there may be some reviewer confusion between Anthony's Fish Bar, Bell Street Diner, and maybe even Anthony's Pier 66. This review is for the walk-up little fish bar with the entrance right on Alaskan Way, as opposed to the more upscale, pricier restaurants located in that same building. We didn't feel like eating at Ivar's or Elliotts, but were hungry by the time we'd walked up to Anthony's. It was a warm Saturday, with one of the bigger cruise ships moored outside, and business was brisk. But the food came out quickly, and the fish was great. Perfectly seasoned tartar sauce, too, which was a nice change from the over-dilled tartar sauces some local restaurants inflict upon their customers. I like dill, just not too much of it, and Anthony's does theirs right. The counter service was efficient, and the staff was receptive to the people waiting, some of whom were hovering and cranky, even though they'd JUST ordered their food. I wish the menu was a little bit larger, but for a small space, they do a nice job, and put out a great product. Now, if Anthony's could just make a clam chowder (or oyster stew) like Mo's in Oregon, they'd be golden. read more

My husband and I visited the Bell Street Diner following the Seattle Sounders soccer match yesterday evening. Since we were casually dressed, we opted for Bell Street instead of Anthony's Pier 66. What a mistake. When we first arrived we were seated right away which was great because we were tired and hungry. After our server came to our table to take our order he acted very rushed and we could tell that he wasn't paying attention to the fact that we had asked for no pickles on our son's cheeseburger. I simplified our instructions to have them just bring us a plain cheeseburger - nothing on the side. Simple enough, right? Apparently not. He came back a few moments later to deliver our iced tea and then remembered that he hadn't bothered to ask our son if he wanted anything besides water to drink. The lemonade we ordered took a very long time and was delivered after our chowder had arrived. Up until this point we were having an okay experience. (I should note that we had both a waiter and another server assigned to our table. Neither seemed to be aware of what the other was doing or what needed to be done which I think contributed to the outcome.) We were only about halfway through our chowder when the main course arrived. I felt like we were being rushed out the door - what was the hurry that I couldn't finish my chowder? Our son's cheeseburger arrived with full condiments (lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles and a pickle spear leaking pickle juice onto the hamburger bun on the side). (did I mention my son hates pickles?) They offered to replate the cheeseburger which we agreed to. When my son took one bite he made this awful face. Sure enough, on the bottom bun of the burger there was a very generous portion of relish. We called the waiter over and asked him to bring us another cheeseburger since we had specifically asked for a plain cheeseburger. He apologized and offered to bring us another. While we waited they did bring our son some fries but he didn't receive his burger until my husband and I were nearly done with both of our dinners and then it was only after we asked twice to follow up on the order. For a slow Sunday evening, the service was really atrocious. I also fail to understand their service problems when they have two people attending your table. Our food was acceptable (fish tacos, king salmon) however it was such a bad service experience I'm unlikely to return. We live here and I'm starting to wonder if some of these waterfront restaurants think that they can get away with lousy service because the customers aren't likely to remember when they return to Seattle? I would give this place 3.5 stars, but yelp still does not have the half star feature, and I didn't love it enough to give it four stars. A little pricey for just okay food. Paid about $25 for the clam chowder bread bowl and the combo platter which were both good but not great. The bread was fresh which is always a huge plus. The prawns, cod and clam strips were nothing to rave nor complain about, so overall, everything was just average. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here but if I was in the area, it's not a bad option to stop for a quick bite. This is a wonderful venue right along the waterfront and I took my daughter on a day date this summer there. One thing I always notice first is the server's initial interaction with the table. 85% of the time at most restaurants they will say "Hi my name is Cathy and I will be your server today, can I get you something to drink?" Our server took a knee and asked my daughter all about her T-Shirt that had a popular anime character on it. She went on to rattle off all the specials from memory which I also appreciate because it means they are a pro and came in and memorized it. We sat outside by the water and I ate jumbo fried shrimp which were delicious while my daughter got clam chowder and a salad. Certainly I will remember that the food was good when we consider going there again but it was also a high level of service that I remember that day as well. Check this place out. My son and daughter's fish and chips were crispy on the out side and moist on the inside. The fries were pretty good also. My husband's red clam chowder was light and a tad bit spicy. He enjoyed it greatly, commenting that it was one of the best Manhattan clam chowders that he's ever had. My cup of white New England clam chowder, was creamy and thick. How can a restaurant with a nice oceanfront view have such terrible food and service???? I came here with my team for dinner and was a little skeptical because of the bad reviews, but still came with an open mind... only to be let down. They advertised their wild caught seafood, especially the salmon. So I ordered the salmon with the peach sauce. The order comes with a side of steamed snow-peas that were extremely undercooked and loaded with way too much raw garlic, and a side cold, crusty mashed potatoes. The sides weren't even listed on the menu and when we asked the server, she gave us an ambiguous answer since each dish comes with different sides so it just depends on what you order. The salmon didn't seem freshly prepared and was extremely dry. What a waste to overcook wild caught salmon!? The only thing I enjoyed was the peach salsa on the salmon, which gave the salmon a light touch. A couple of my coworkers agreed that the other dishes were subpar too, not to mention each dish was $15-$35. Food not worth. But apparently peaches are a thing in Seattle so I tried their well advertised peach lemonade which, to my surprise, was really really good! Now since the food wasn't that great, one would only hope that the service would make up for it. But nope. Anything we ordered took a good 15-30 minutes to come out. Water refill should take no longer than a couple of minutes!!! At one point, a couple of my coworkers ordered another round of drinks so we decided to go outside to take pictures to kill time. Came back a while later only to find that our drinks were still not out. I don't blame the server-- she was nice. But to the restaurant: please staff your restaurant better and make the extra effort to make sure that the food comes out quicker and fresher!! read more

The Bell Street Diner is a cheaper option to the upstairs. The problem is that (at least on my two visits) the cheapness shows. Both times, the fish had been cooked to the point of being unpleasantly dry, giving the impression that the kitchen staff just didn't care about the food. The staff was pleasant enough, the view was okay, and the rest of the food wasn't bad, and the outdoor seating area is a plus. I'm still not going to recommend it, though. Upstairs (Anthony's Pier 66) has never disappointed, but downstairs has disappointed enough that I'm not inclined to return. If I'm willing to spend more, I'll go upstairs, if I'm looking for something in the casual spending range, I'd probably go elsewhere. Quick note. Looking at the Pier 66 reviews (the two Yelp entries were recently split), I see that people have had good experiences at Bell Street Diner, so maybe I've had bad luck. read more

Great Views to enjoy your Seafood! If this restaurant was at any other location I would say it was average at best. The views definitely make up for average tasting food. Prices are moderate. I would suggest a few other restaurants for a taste of Northwest, but if you are in a hurry and want a quick bite, this place is for you. We ordered the seafood marinara, fish and chips, saffron mashers, and shrimp tempura. All good dishes, but they all seemed to lack any strong flavor or bite. I say, try it out, you will enjoy the view and the hussle and bussle of the water front. If you want better seafood that cost more, head on upstairs. read more

Had lunch here on my last day in Seattle this week. I ordered the Cod Fish & Chips and sat outside on the boardwalk patio overlooking the smallest boat marina I've ever seen on the west coast... Probably the worst service we have experienced in Seattle. From pay to receiving the food was 25 minutes. 1 taco with a small piece of fish was $6.99. The salad we ordered they just took out of the fridge. Atmosphere is terrible. For a walk up food place this food should be quick and good! People behind the counter were rude. We didn't even bother to say something to them because of how clearly did not care. For a walk up food counter, I am shocked at how terrible of service this was. Never coming here again, don't give yourself the chance of having this sort of terrible service - avoid at all costs! I was wandering down Alaskan Way (new to town, so I was just sort of exploring) and the hunger hit. I saw Anthony's and there wasn't much of a wait, so I figured I'd check it out. I'm glad I did! The service was good. The folks at the counter were super friendly, plenty of smiles and one of them chatted with me about beer while waiting for my food. They have only three beers on tap but they're not your usual Bud Lite variety. I had the Alaskan Cod and chips. It was great! The cod was perfectly cooked. It was nice and flaky, and it wasn't overloaded with breading. The fries were also good, but nothing too special. My only complaint is that the fish was a bit greasy for my taste -- it had clearly just come out of the fryer. I took my food out to the pier and munched on it while I watched the water. Definitely a nice, cheap, quick eat. I'll be back for the Salmon next time, I think. read more

Service was exceptionally slow. This was not due to food preparation, just to service being exceptionally slow. Drinks took 15 minutes. which is fairly extreme when it's beer, water, and lemonade. Most of the food is quite good. Both the Manhattan Chowder and the Boston Clam Chowder are absolutely fantastic. The fish was quite good, particularly the battered fish in the Fish and Chips but also the blackened rockfish. Far, far too much salt on the chips/fries with the Fish & Chips. The pseudo cole-slaw placed on the side of most fish dishes is revolting. The crab cakes are a lot of grease; decent amount of crab but not much flavor. The blackberry cobbler was quite heavily advertised, but it's not cobbler. It's blackberry filling with a sugar cookie over the top in a ramekin, heated up in a microwave. It's not horrible because the blackberries are good. You're much better off with the cheesecake, which has fresh raspberries and gigantic fresh blackberries. That was almost worth the 30 minutes it took for dessert. read more

Lovely outdoor seating by the wharf - especially nice when sunny. Generally when done right the fish and chips in the unique tempera batter is wonderful. However the staff at this particular store seem to lack motivation. Service very slow, fish and chips sometimes soggy. Straw that broke the camel's back - came in during the afternoon - no staff to be found but "friends" sitting at a table said they would be back. After waiting 10 minutes left - I'm not sure why Anthony's which has a great restaurant next door allows such shoddy service. I'd love to give this place 3.5 stars, because it doesn't deserve 4. It gets more points for the location than anything else! Except I recall a weird thing: when I was being shown to my table, I wasn'tpaying attention and I collided with a bus boy. I admit I wasn't quite paying attention, but this guy was moving. HE hit me HARD---and didn't say anything!!! He just kept walking. The rest of their service was pretty spotty too, which is why they don't get a 4. Also, we stopped by and got their HH menu. It only goes until 5. The shrimp cocktail was terrible---full of baby shrimp and at least half celery. But what do you expect for .75???? The wine comes in a goblet and is $4, so that's a plus. I have pretty low standards for fish & chips and the food stands that serve them. Those standards basically boil down to speed of service, quality of food, and price. Anthony's Fish Bar failed every one of these during my lunch visit today. First, for a place that serves fried fish and fried potatoes, you'd think they'd have a process to ensure they've got quick service - especially just before the lunch rush. Instead, I waited almost 10 minutes for the food to fry - this after three tries to order "cod and chips", which the cashier couldn't seem to comprehend. And when I did get the food, the breading was mushy and greasy, not light and crispy. It was also apparent that I hadn't waited for the fries to cook, since they were lukewarm at best. Add on top of this $9 disappointment a $2 12-ounce drink, and it's highly unlikely that I'll be returning anytime soon - there are far better fish stands just up the hill at the Market. Quick note for anyone who still decides to go - make sure you keep an eye on the pass; a server came up with a bunch of dishes and just started handing them out to the people who were waiting there, regardless of the numbers that we were given. The guy just before me was in the back corner and didn't get his food until the next batch came up because (1) he wasn't paying attention, and (2) they never called his number. I should also mention that I've eaten at the actual Anthony's diner next door several times, and have nothing but good experiences there.
