This young man was so respectful and sincere you would not believe he was one of the newer staff members. Our food was hot and delicious and the setting was perfect for a Friday family feast. Went for lunch and the food and service was mixed. Wish I could give a 3.5. The Caesar salad nothing special and could have used some parm cheese, however the tomato basil soup was quite good. The service initially good, but then the waitress disappeared on us. I and my friend in Antioch have lunch every couple months, but likely won't be back here. There weren't many people at lunch time, so maybe its more of an evening experience, given the size of the bar. read more

So I've been twice in the last week, for both Niners playoff games. My first time I was excited because there weren't many people in there at the time, people slowly start to trickle in over the evening. Our service was OK, Our server was not fully attentive to us and we weren't a big party and there wasn't a lot of people around us. She kept forgetting our order, and brought us the wrong drinks. At one point, we didn't see her for a while, Then they took everyone off the floor, so there were no servers or bartenders for a few minutes. She was nice. I just think they had her running around the whole restaurant because we saw her going to both sides helping people. I will say the male host be doing too much . Like talking about marijuana or whatever to customers is inappropriate. Low-key think he is off of something the way he was moving the last two times I was there. I overheard him a lot last night talking to a table that I presume he knows because he kept calling them The N-word, but none of them should be saying the N-word if you catch my drift. Our older lady server from last night. She also wasn't very attentive. She didn't come over and check on us as frequently as she should have. I also asked for napkins and didn't get napkins for 20 minutes. I had to ask again for napkins. I also noticed that staff was moving tables to accommodate an incoming group that was bigger than 10. Then when they walked in and were all African-American, they were split up into groups, which I didn't like and didn't make sense because they had a table move just to make space for the big group. It felt a little racist as a black woman seeing that happen. Maybe everyone needs new server training because I had hope for the taphouse. zero star for sofia the bartender. never greeted me when i sat at the bar, simply put menus in front of me and walked away. only 5 people at the bar and several flagging her down to get attention. finally ordered a beverage and was ignored until i waved at her to order food. not once did she ask if my beverage was fine, did i need anything else and never asked about my food. i asked for napkins and only got bar napkins, i asked for a dinner napkin and she said we don't have them. when asked again all she had to do was go to the server station to bring them. she spent her entire time hanging out with a friend at the bar watching soccer and telemundo soap opera with her back to every single person. she was also giving away alcohol to her friend - saw her pour a glass of champagne after she opened a new bottle for a customer, he didn't want it so she gave it to someone else. spoke to the mgr about my experience. he's basically paying her $20hr to watch tv. never saw her doing bar glasses, bar prep, cleaning bottles, nothing except breathing and watching tv. this experience will prevent me from returning for a long time if ever. read more

I actually just left this restaurant. My overall experience about this restaurant makes me not want to come back. Upon coming in we were greeted and seated which was great but after that it was silence for about 15 mins no water no " Hey " no nothing. I did notice it seemed to be one server and one bartender so I did try to give them the benefit of doubt until the host/server went on to greet and seat other guests before saying anything or even asking us did we want water... at that point we started to debate if we even wanted to continue eating/ordering there . . So after still trying to be a good sport we waited and she eventually asked us were we ready to order after waiting for so long we already knew what we wanted and proceeded to order. After ordering and waiting for our food we noticed that the bartender started helping other tables( regulars ) that came in but never once offered to help us after sitting there for almost 20 mins while she sat at the bar talking to guests. Our food proceeded to come everything looked great but the steak we ordered had NO seasoning no salt no nothing not even the garlic butter that was suppose to come on top , the mashed potatoes was great and the one piece of broccoli that had a bunch of bell peppers and onions was just meh. The inside looks great- they did a nice job with it. The food is good and the three of us that went would go back. As a new restaurant, they are still figuring things out. The menu needs work. There are no explanations of the dishes and I had to ask them about sauces and toppings etc- they should just have a quick blurb "cream sauce" or whatever. They were also out of a few things too - that happens. The staff was helpful and our waitress was very accommodating and did a great job explaining some of the food and went and asked the kitchen when she didn't know.
