This is a review of Apres as a private event venue. Look, if you read my disclaimer at the top and are still looking for a review of Apres as a club, you really need to work on your reading comprehension skills. I am not this club's target demographic. Sure I own some nice suits and I like to make it rain for bottles of Ace of Spades. Wait a minute. That isn't me at all. Anyway, if you are looking for a nice spot for a private event right outside the CBD, I encourage you to check out Apres. I came here for a work Christmas party. It was actually the first work Christmas party I had ever attended except the lame at work ones in years past. As a private event spot, Apres has their stuff together. The bartenders were very prompt and friendly. You'd think our crowd would be tough to please, but the did very well. There was hardly ever a wait for drinks. In addition to great service, the venue has undergone a massive improvement since its days a dive bar. I can't even remember the name of the place back then, but it was as divey as humanly possible. Now it's pretty fancy with a "VIP" area that my little group took over during our event. Once the event was over we were kicked out of VIP since we weren't really VIP, but we enjoyed it while it lasted. If you are a VIP, that area did have some pretty high back chairs that resembled thrones. I'd recommend those if you're popping champagne like you won a championship game. In closing, I have no idea what this place is like under normal circumstances and I never will. But as an event spot, you should check it out. read more

This is the most unorganized place I have ever been to. I'm in town for vacation and the event was supposed to start at 10 and they didn't show up until 1026 to let us in and we still had to wait until they finished smoking and setting up. It's a mess!!! I had a great time. It was a friday night. The vibe was cool, DJ was playing top music hits and the bartenders are really cool and attentive. I can always appreciate a place with bottles of ace of spade for bar decor. The decor is very trendy and contemporary. You can tell the decorators put alot of time and effort into planning and design. The drinks were great and this is a nice spot for group parties. Recently went here for a company function. Reading my reviews, you know this isn't my kind of bar. Too fancy and trendy. The servers were extremely fast and friendly. I am a beer drinker mostly so that's really hard to screw up. The food selection was "ok" compared to previous locations this party was held at. They were passing around the mini muffs, fried shrimps, fried oysters and some roast thing. The hot plate serve yourself section had finger sandwiches, pulled pork, chicken tenders and a seafood pasta. I saw the "bottle service" table areas while checking it out. I'm not sure why anyone would do that but then again this place and scene isn't me. No real complaints other than food offered, but then again I didn't have to pay for anything either. I was invited and that is cool in itself. To sum it up, Apres is modern, brick, neon blues, projected videos, DJ booth, swinging chairs and ultra sticky carpets. read more

I figured the negative reviews were from folks who just weren't familiar with upscale venues. So I decided to go and see for myself. As a native New Yorker and service industry worker I know what works and what doesn't. This place doesn't. I won't go into detail on why Apres sucks. Other reviewers covered that well. What I will say is that in New Orleans, venues that attempt to specialize in niche often fail. Not because the niche isn't popular, but because the venue (i.e. staff and management) doesn't realize that style does not trump substance. Overpriced drinks and poor service means ZERO business. For some reason, these boutique bars and lounges here just don't get it. Eventually you see them go out of business. Prior to this review Apres offered a BOGO on top shelf bottles. An obvious desperation move. My advice to Apres, and any other upscale wanna-be? Stop pretending you're in L.A. or NY. Provide service. Make an effort. All the flashy decor won't keep your doors open. read more

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am a lover of fine champagne. So when a champagne bar opens, it most certainly sparks my attention. Its a rather small space in a prime location near Harrah's Casino and downtown Nola. Their main focus are flashy people looking to drop tons of money. I completely understand this from a business perspective because I'm sure Fulton Alley rent isn't cheap. But for ballers on a budget like myself, we're left out in the cold or based on my last visit without a seat. We paid $650 (aka 'Ultra VIP' charity event tickets) for the 4 of us to spend NYE here with an open bar and champagne toast at midnight. This package was a second level option that included call liquor options. It blew my mind that for $150+ /ticket for a 3 hour time frame, I had to downgrade my drink choices. My champagne option for the night was equivalent to an $8 bottle in the store. Thanks but no thanks for the bubbly sugar water. There was not one seat available since they were all reserved for a $2500 minimum table reservation. Some were left roped off but empty the entire night. I must add though,I had low service expectations based on recent reviews, but all of the bartenders and security were very nice. The cocktail waitresses could be dressed a little more classy but I'm sure their flashy/pro athlete clientele love it. I'm glad we ended up not having a seat because we danced the night away. Really good DJ and fun music. Places to dance in the city are pretty limited off Bourbon Street so if you are looking to be seen and possibly meet a sugar daddy, Apres (pronounced Ah-pray) is the place to be. read more

Started a tab with the bartender, then after order drinks again later they told me I didn't have a tab and couldn't find my card anywhere and swore I didn't have one meanwhile telling me I owed for the drinks I just ordered . My friend bought that round and I left. Now it's the next day i have a charge on the card they swore they didn't have and I can't get ahold of anyone to get my card back and remove the charges read more

I was in New Orleans for a week in 5/2015 and had the absolute pleasure of finding this Lounge/Nightclub. So let me first start off by saying that I am from San Francisco and I expect a VERY specific type of service from a nightclub when I get bottle Service, and I do so quite frequently. I expect to be taken care of, paid attention to, prompt service, and welcoming hosts. Apres Lounge met all of my standards and more! I first walked up to Apres around 11:30-12am or so on a Friday night with some friends in town for a bachelor party. The place was already COMPLETELY full. When I walked up to the front I informed the doorman that I wanted to get a table with a couple bottles and quite literally within 1 minute I met Ellis, their resident host. He greeted me with a warm smile and made sure I knew that even though the club was full he was going to make sure I was happy. About 5 minutes later, he escorted my friends and I to a table already set up with our first bottle and our server Jessica was waiting and smiling (and I'll add in it was quite the smile). The crowd inside was fantastic. The owner introduced himself to us, once again with that southern hospitality that I find extremely endearing, and the music was on point. We enjoyed our night so much that we came back on Saturday night as well and got a much larger section. If you expect prompt service, great hosts, friendly servers, and a crowd to hang and party with. GO TO APRES. Stop looking elsewhere because I've looked and there is not a place in New Orleans that I would even put in the same category as this establishment. 5 stars across the board from start to finish. This venue is what made our 5 day trip to New Orleans. I would also like this post to serve as a personal invitation to any of the staff aforementioned in this post, if you come to San Francisco please hit me up. I would be honored to return the favor. The music is great and the two sides of the bar are awesome if you want to come here to have a good time and dance go for it, but DON'T I repeat DON'T come here if you want to get a drink... The service is horrible! Went on a weekend and gave it a try since it was just opening up and close to everything! My experience was mediocre at best...the music was pumping through and fulton street was having a great time, but actually getting a drink in this place or a friendly waitress is not something you will get here.. I gave it another try and was in the VIP section for a wedding and it was cute, they gave you chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of champagne, but then getting service anytime after that...you can forget it! I really hate giving bad reviews, but something definitely needs to be done about this since this place has so much potential... read more

Great venue, staff, and music! I hosted a fundraiser for my non-profit organization, and it was one of the best parties we've ever had. Customer service was friendly, quick, and professional. I had nothing but compliments and praise from the over 250 guests that attended. On the non-event side, I have also been to this Lounge for the random weeknight (or weekend) out and have had a blast every time. A TON of champagne to choose from, but they also have some extremely talented bartenders to serve up any cocktail you want. I had the pleasure of attending a Pierre Thomas and Lance Moore, New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame party at APRES Lounge recently and had a fantastic time. The atmosphere, decor, music, multiple bartenders (essential for getting drinks without a long wait time) was all top notch. The staff was very friendly and focused on ensuring everyone was served and having a good time. The GM, Thai was the host extraordinaire. I love champagne and sparkling wines so I encouraged some friends to check this spot out. Walked in with a group of 5 at 7pm on a Friday and no other patrons there. I went here for a bachelorette party as one of our stops. We got there around 9:00 pm and people were watching the LSU game. Every table/booth was reserved so we decided to sit and drink at the bar. About an hour later, and far before the LSU game was even close to being over, a bar back came up and told us he needed our chairs. We told him that we were sitting there and he went to get his manager. The manager then told us that we couldn't sit there and we would have to leave if we didn't like it. We had paid hundreds of dollars in alcohol just to have a good time but that wasn't enough. We were then escorted out by security (who apologized profusely for the manager - 'he doesn't know what he's doing') I will never drink here again and I will make sure none of my friends drink there either. Absolutely amazing experience with this venue! The staff was incredibly helpful and welcoming. The company that I worked for was hosting an event in New Orleans and had to change venues last minute and were referred to Apres. We could not have been more pleased! They were extremely accommodating helping us to get the event arranged and had a great staff their on the night of the party. The location is beautifully decorated with very fair prices and a fun laid back, yet classy, atmosphere. I would highly suggest that anyone coming to New Orleans stop by this venue to try something from their large assortment of champagnes! Apres has officially become our favorite venue in New Orleans! APRES Lounge is a very comfortable venue. We recently attended an event there and my wife misplaced her IPhone to her horror! We notified Mr. Pham, the manager of the loss. He assured us every effort would be made to recover the phone. We assumed it was lost forever. To our incredible surprise, Mr. Pham contacted us a week later and informed us the phone was found!! I was visiting New Orleans for a conference and we had our team event here. We had such an amazing time! Great atmosphere, amazing music and wonderful and friendly staff! Unfortunately at the end of the night I misplaced my clutch that had my license and a few other things in it including credit cards and cash. I looked everywhere for it but eventually gave up. Two days later I get a message from one of the GMs Thai saying that he had found my clutch!! I was already back home in Houston by this time and he kindly offered to mail it back to me without any reimbursement! His exact wording was "As GM it's my duty to get it back to you." This is probably the worst place you could go in New Orleans to have a fun night out with your friends. The bouncers at the door are among the rudest people I've ever encountered. Be prepared to let multiple groups of 10+ people in front of you even when the line looks reasonable so you end up waiting 30+ minutes for a sub-par night out. I used to live in Manhattan and even the most sought after clubs in New York City didn't treat their potential customers this way. Literally go anywhere but here - barcadia and republic are both walking distance of this area. read more
