My wife and I had reservations for valentines day dinner. First, we were seated in a side room with 4 tables, no atmosphere at all, it was like we were seated in a storage room. We had ordered ahead for our dinner for valentines day that we wanted their tea bass. It arrived at our table cold and was like rubber, absolutely the worst fish dish that we have ever had, and considering the price, it was highway robbery. Service was average. We discovered this gem on YELP. Dupree our server was perfect and the ambiance and atmosphere was was inviting, romantic and calming. We enjoyed the Petite Syrah with appetizers consisting of heirloom tomatoes with burrata and I had the foie gras....which was delicious! Dupree recommended the Ribeye which I thoroughly enjoyed though it was on the thin side...maybe 1/2 inch thick. My bride had the black truffle risotto with prawns. The flavor was excellent. The risotto was a little chewy and not as creamy as she anticipated and the prawns were simply medium size shrimp. Great flavor and well prepared but not prawns. In the end the service and attention we received was way above par and Dupree and those who assisted him were excellent. The food was excellent in flavor and presentation except for the noted items above. We will be back! read more

This restaurant is amazing and providing the quality of food in a small community like Saint George. I first visited this restaurant when it was in Ivins and found the chef and the food extremely approachable and delicious! Finally, I get to visit again in the new location and find the quality of food, service and atmosphere were so much better! The best sangria was a private recipe that came in a martini glass. It was not only flavorful, beautiful and perfect for the season. Tonight I had the colossal scallops with pasta combined with olive oil, garlic and red pepper. Mushrooms were added as well but I would've loved more! Enjoyed sitting outside tonight because the weather is still beautiful. The live piano music was a perfect addition to a lovely evening! I went Saturday for my birthday bought a bottle of veuve for 170$. Bought the lobster tail and side salad, Cesar. Shrimp cocktail. They were wonderful with seating on time nice soft live piano music. 6 pm all tables filled. The bread was just bread sliced and a dipping bowl with literally 2 tablespoons of oil and balsamic. I asked for more they brought me the containers told he here you go. Ok, thanks so much. Wtf? Weird they didn't serve me when I was spending 300$ on 1 person dinner. Champagne was not chilled so I asked for ice. 170$ a bottle it wasn't chilled. I should have known. Sparking water not chilled no ice. Third red flag. The server should have known this before opening by the temperature of the bottle. I had to pour myself after the first pour. Another weird lack of service. A man at side table loudly complaining about his steak so I went lobster. Side Cesar salad with white anchovies. It was ok not crisp though sort of lifeless. Then the lobster comes it was cold so where the veggies the potatoes 1/4 c small portions were hot. So I skipped dessert because at that point I was just not very happy. They blamed it on a new chef. I hate to write reviews but want you all to know before you go. Also there is no dress code so anything goes !!! Shorts jeans ball caps children etc... Will I go back - no. I've had better food at rib and chop house. Way less money and better quality. I did like the pianist. Oh they have a candle sitting lit in a bowl as decor the candle is like sort of large not a tea light a real candle white sort of large for accent. My advice to this restaurant have your management team go to an upscale restaurant in Vegas and take notes. I should have known from strip mall and attire of guests and hostess very casually dressed it was not going to be 5 star but for the price and hearing others not happy it should be reviewed so you know what your going to get. The manager did offer to discount my meal I declined as maybe they can use the money to dine at a fine dining restaurant with their managers for training and etiquette policies. If they want to be a 5 star restaurant charging these prices they are going to have to start offering expected quality control and definitely need to set dress code standards at least no Levi jeans or ball caps. It sets the mood and candies should be in a proper candle holder. Food served at proper temperature and champagne and sparkling water chilled to proper temperatures. read more

Does Aragosta translate to "Arrogance" in some other language? Made reservations because I wanted to order the lamb shank dinner they boast about. They had run out at 6pm. The waiter was not friendly. Arrogant in fact. I could not wait to get out of there. Some of what we ordered was so salty. Some (hominy) was blandly served naked without sauce or flavor at all. We were quickly greeted and seated upon entering. The inside is big and spacious. The outside has a small patio.... we opted for outside since I still am not comfortable sitting inside for long periods of time. Note... inside the tables are spread apart and not near each other so they are taking the distance precautions seriously here unlike some other places we visited. Everyone working here is also wearing masks and gloves. Brianna our server was lovely! She gets 5 stars across the board. She communicated immediately upon greeting us that the kitchen was backed up and there would be a bit of a wait for our courses, and that bread was currently being taken out of the oven and that FRESH bread would be forthcoming. We ordered a bottle of wine and sipped on it while we waited for our courses. The bread was in fact HOT and FRESH! So very good! Nothing like fresh bread out of the oven. Melts in your mouth. They offer olive oil and balsamic instead of butter. I suppose you could request butter, but this bread really doesn't need it nor the olive oil. I started with the French Onion soup and the hubby had the Caesar Salad w/ anchovies. The soup was served Lava Hot.... had great flavor and the onions were perfectly cooked so they were soft and really needed no chewing. I didn't care for the bread/cheese piece that was on top of the soup as it didn't break up very well and was hard to chew... so I pushed it aside and enjoyed the soup. No big. The salad was sizable and presented very nicely on a beautiful plate with the anchioves lined up on the salad edge. I tasted the salad (not the anchovies as I don't like them) and the salad was dressed lightly and the dressing was not overpowering. (I hate when the salad is swimming in dressing... this was not the case.) In between our starters and our mains, we enjoyed a Lime Sorbet to cleanse our pallets. It was light and not super lime-y, tart like some are. In fact, the sorbet seemed creamy which I liked since I more or less burned my mouth on the Lava Hot soup. (Note... I like my soup HOT so this is 100% my fault for being too fast with the soup.) Our mains were King Salmon (they were out of the Chilean Seabass) and the Risotto with Prawns. The King Salmon was a large serving of fish... probably like 10 ounces! Definitely not skimpy here... seasoned lightly, and cooked nicely where it had a slight crisp edge but the inside was still tender and moist.... and HOT when it was served. The sides (mashed potatoes and mixed veg) while presented nicely were mediocre at best. The Risotto was not what we were expecting.... it wasn't the creamy, smooth texture like we've had at other restaurants and at home... it was actually kinda grainy, tough in texture. Maybe it's a different type of Risotta variety that we are unfamiliar with? The shrimps (prawns) were cooked perfectly ... firm yet succulent. We passed on dessert since it was already 9pm and we were getting tired. Our dinner including wine was $167.... reasonable IMO. About 2 hours for dinner.... so if you're in a rush or wanted to be in and out in an hour, I could see where you would be disappointed. Definitely make a reservation and come here early in the evening. I think the later in the evening you come, the longer it will take. We were here on a Saturday evening and it was busy, however Brianna said that Friday night was super slow. So, it's a crap shoot if it's going to be busy or not... but definitely make a reservation just to err on the safe side of getting a table quickly. read more

My wife and I had the great pleasure of celebrating our anniversary at this very fine restaurant in St. George. Service was EXCELLENT as the server Jonathan took care of everything in a gracious professional manner. The head chef came out of the kitchen introduced himself and congratulated us with a rose for my wife. Food was great! The sea bass was outstanding as was the shrimp prawns with pasta. If I could change anything, we should have sat further to the other side of the room since there was a large table of about 30 guys right beside us. Needless to say, very noisy. So we went to Aragosta after my daughter and her husband had been so impressed by the atmosphere, service and food served. WOW, they nailed it! From the moment we got there, Tara took such good care of us I can't thank her enough! The food, Surf and Turk with a Caesar salad was outstanding! The lobster was perfect, the steak cooked perfectly and vegetables and Demi Glacé were unbelievable! This is our new go to, in southern Utah. I had dinner here based on a local recommendation. The restaurant was a little difficult to find because the signage outside is small. Parking was easy because most of the businesses surrounding the area were closed during the time I arrived (dinner). Aragosta's interior is beautiful: white table cloths, vaulted ceilings and tasteful decor-- all things that are synonymous with fine dining. The atmosphere is quiet and intimate - perfect for a date night. The menu offers a good variety: steak, seafood, pasta, duck, lamb and foie gras. For dinner, I had the red snapper with broccolini, asparagus, roasted red pepper and mashed potatoes. The sauce was fantastic! I have no idea what was in it, but it was delicious! I tried a few desserts, but the Sticky Toffee pudding cake was amazingly good! It was warm, drizzled with a caramel sauce and had the perfect amount of sweetness. Trust me, you should order it :) The people here are great. Chef Imi was the best! Not only was his food absolutely delicious, but he is the sweetest, most thoughtful chef I've ever met. He took the time to introduce himself prior to my meal, then came back after we finished our meal to thank us for coming in. This is incredible customer service that you don't see very often. We were cold calling a "nice" place. This was our third choice and should have trusted our judgement when we saw the restaurant flanked by two wedding dress stores in a strip mall made to look "European". We waited 70 minutes from seating for entrees, we had one appetizer, it was a Wednesday, and I had a front row view of a dirty table the entire time we were there. Watched a cheesy loop video on a TV screen over faux fireplace of the summertime patio(?) with a cat ( not joking) sitting on one of the dining tables. Nice wait staff, but when the tables have carnations and pepper shakers (no fresh pepper offered) we should have bolted to the Olive Garden next door and been home an hour earlier. What a gem! If you're in St George/Ivins, you have to check out Aragosta for a lovely dinner you won't regret! Kudos to the chef and the staff for making this such an amazing dinner experience. I've only encountered one other dining experience that made my heart and stomach so full. We made a reservation but came early and thought we could grab a drink at the bar. There's no bar and the place is pretty small, so highly recommend making a reservation. They were very accommodating and felt really bad that we had to wait for a table even though if it wasn't their fault. They put together a makeshift table until our table was ready and gave us comp starter. Everything looked delicious, and we ultimately decided to get the frutti di mare bucatini special and the sea bass. They were both excellent, with generous portions. The frutti di mare came with a heap of fresh seafood and a delicious red sauce that was rich with flavors and had a hint of spiciness. We requested that they make it spicier, and we were not disappointed. The chef was amazing and the dishes were clearly a labor of love. Jeremy got the sea bass and it was cooked to perfection. I only had a bite before he finished everything so can't speak more to the dish. We couldn't pass up dessert and didn't regret ordering the apple strudel a la mode. We'll be back when we're in the St George/Ivins area again, for sure! read more

This was 3rd or 4th on my list of places to have an anniversary dinner while in St George for the weekend. This place looked too expensive and fancy for our tastes, but I thought we'd give it a shot. It turned out to be just fine. Kind of expensive, but that's to be expected for the quality of food. My wife got risotto with huge shrimp, and I got lobster ravioli. The ravioli was just okay--probably I should have picked something less subtle. The shrimp and risotto were on point, though. Very nice. Things we didn't like: the waiter addressing us over and over as "lady and sir," which just felt odd (service was good, though!). And the biggest bummer: the creme brûlée wasn't crispy on top! This was a huge bummer and I wish I'd had a chance to tell the server before we gobbled it up anyway. read more
