Love this place! I've been coming here for several years now and it never disappoints! Their sesame chicken, pad thai, fried cheese roll & fried egg roll are always my go-toos! The food is 4 star. The service is 1. I used their app to order. They texted to confirm my order and noted that I would receive a text when my order was ready. After an hour and a half wait I approached the window that had a sign indicating that the restaurant was closed. There was a young man still working that could not have been ruder. Her told me that they didn't text me because they didn't have my number. I showed them that they had texted me earlier confirming the order and suggested that they did have my number. We've lived in Driftwood for two years, but only recently learned about Aroi from a neighbor. It's easy to miss...a modest food truck tucked away next to a Uhaul dealership just outside Suds Monkey. But now that we've tried them, we are big fans. Their food is absolutely fresh and delicious and everything we have tried is amazing. They are VERY busy, but ordering online is very easy. This place is a joke unless you want to order your food four hours before you want to eat it. I tried going there because I've eaten it before and it was good and I could have simply ordered from five other places around and when I ordered at first it gave me a two hour due time from when I ordered and then when I showed up the girl said 10 minutes, After another 25 minutes have gone by I went up again and asked where my order is and she said another 10 minutes. Needless to say I canceled my order and took my money elsewhere. One of the only Thai places in the Dripping Springs area, and although they don't have a ton of options, it's more than I would expect from a food truck. I've been 3 times so far, and the food has always been good (not great). The first time I got the shrimp in a blanket, which were really good, and drunken noodles, which were good, but after eating about a quarter of it, the flavor was so rich, I couldn't eat any more. The second time I got sesame chicken, which was good, but nothing speciaThe last time I went, they were out of rice (which is fine, I will happily eat noodles) but when I asked for sesame chicken, they said they couldn't make it because it usually comes with rice. can you feel my pain? yeah AROI! We don't normally expect much from food trailers and so have shied away from this ever since we noticed the open sign. Big mistake! friendly staff, great fresh food, prepared quickly , and a surprisingly pleasant outdoor area, even on a late August afternoon. Reasonable prices and huge quantities. How lucky we are here in Dripping to have such a great new place right around the corner. Oh, and for the whiner who complained that they closed an hour early and left a one star review.. Really!!! My suggestion to you.. next time just go to Walmart.. they are open until 3 AM and probably more suited for you as well. read more

The food is very good - especially for a food truck. Be sure to order ahead as the wait for food can be an hour or more. They also run out of food from time to time. Even if you order ahead and are given a pick up time, it's VERY likely your food will not be ready on time. I'm writing this while waiting in my car for my food which was supposed to be ready 15 minutes ago. I've gotten in the habit of not even leaving my house until the pick up time in order to reduce the wait. read more

First of all, let me start by saying that I live in Belterra (which is maybe a mile from this food truck) and I'm a *HUGE* fan of good thai food. I've been to Aroi 4 times in the past 3 months. I've been served only twice, because on two occasions (including today), I've been there when they were scheduled to be open but of course were not, so I couldn't eat there. I arrived at Aroi today (Mon, 10/27) at 1120a (the sign says they open at 11a on Mons) and they were closed. I hung out and waited, hoping they'd show up. Well, at 1145a I gave up. Fortunately the Road Runner food truck opened at the same location today, so I ordered a burger and fries (separate review). At 1150a they finally arrived and started unloading food supplies from the back of their car into the food truck. I guess they replenish on Mondays? In any event, this place, when running, is good, but it's hit-or-miss, as I've only been able to eat there twice (out of 4 times it was scheduled to be open). They really should think about treating this place as a real business and not just a hobby. BTW, I did call and text their listed phone number multiple times between 1120a and 1145a but got no response. read more

Although the food was delicious, I expected more than 2 skimpy pieces of chicken and 3 slices of carrot in my yellow curry. The spicy sesame chicken had next to zero chicken and 2 small pieces of broccoli And, the Pad See Ew had --again, a few pieces of chicken and the pak kana (green leafy veg) was seriously all stem and no green-- and that was even skimpy. Now, with a dish who's base is noodles, can you add a bit more to it? My advice for my $30 for three very small entrees with a pile of rice on the side is ADD MORE MEAT AND VEGETABLES! If I wanted a pure carb dinner of grains, my pantry is full of that. I want vegetables and meat with my $10 dish. A side of rice is only $1. I'm going to try them again, as I loved the curry-- but, I'm going to request less grain and more real food when I order again. read more

I was expecting decent food but nothing great. The food was great! I like my pad Thai with a bit of heat and there was none but I didn't ask for it either so I can't complain. The sesame chicken that my wife got was the reason I will for sure come back. The chicken was amazing and not at all cheap quality. I'll try the cashew chicken next time and compare it but for now I have to say I'm very pleased. We also got the chicken fried rice (adult portion) for our child and that was really good too. Flavor was good and not just a soy sauce taste. I called it in and it was 50-55 min wait. I picked it up about 45 min after the order and it was just finishing up. Nice option in cedar valley where dinner options are limited. We spied the sign back in May/June and have been very happy with this trailer. We have learned to call head so our food is ready when we get there otherwise its a 20 minute wait. We've had all their curries, most of their noodle dishes and a few of their special entrees. We judge most Thai places by their Pad Thai and Aroi serves some of the best. No silly orange color (hey!) just very tasty and fresh. I personally love their curries with the green being my favorite. Plus they add ample tofu to our orders which is great. Don't miss their shrimp spring rolls - wonderful dipping sauce. Be sure to let then know how spicy hot you want order. We have found that 5 (their hottest) is not overly spicy for our tastes. I do wish there were more vegetables in each dish. The special entrees seem to have more veggies than the noodle or curry dishes. read more

Aroi Thai cuisine is a bit hard to find right off the busy road, but man is it worth it. The area is small and not much to look at, but there are some cute picnic tables scattered around. I recommend calling ahead of time to order, since it takes a while for your food to be ready, but if you don't mind the wait, it's a nice little area to sit and chat while you wait. We ordered the fried tofu Phad Thai, and I can easily tell you those are some of the best noodles I've had around here. Really light and not too sticky. But the star of the show was definitely the fried tofu. So good! It really had good flavor and texture, and I ate it way too quickly. The meal also came with a free fried roll of the day. Ours was fried crab Rangoon, and was dang delicious. Overall, I can't wait to go back and try some other dishes. Even though we ordered ahead of time, there was still a wait, which wasn't great, but it is definitely worth a stop! read more

I'm not ashamed to admit that my husband and I consume their food multiple times a week. We call ahead and pick up- which I highly suggest doing because there's always at least a 30 minute wait. The portions are large and can be eaten for two meals. They are also SPICY! I get a level two but my husband gets a three and he's literally dripping with sweat when eating (but in a good way because he spent a month in Thailand and that's how he likes it!). It's also extremely authentic. The shrimp in a blanket is so good but they are out of it half the time. When that happens my heart sinks and then it comes back up again because I remember that I love the fried cheese rolls just as much! I always order the green curry to share and switch between pad thai and pad see ew. My husband orders the taste of basil... every time. Sometimes 2 orders so he can have enough to eat lunch for days. I've ordered food from this food truck several times. I usually get the spring rolls, chicken pad Thai, yellow curry or sesame chicken, which are all delicious. My only sadness comes from what I feel are small portions for the price you pay. However, I feel that the meat and vegetables they use are always fresh and tasty, and the food isn't greasy, on top of being pretty much the only edible Asian place nearby, so I'm not totally butt hurt. I spend a couple of extra bucks for double meat and vegetables since I usually serve their food family style at home. I love the fact my super picky little guys (you know how toddlers can be) are super in love with the sesame chicken that comes with the "super crunches" (fried wonton slices). My kids and I are looking forward to dining al fresca at one of their picnic tables once the weather improves. read more

I tried this place for the first time last night. I ordered my food to go and it was ready in 20min. I ordered the chicken pad thai and the shrimp blankets. Both were very warm when I got home and tasted fresh and yummy. I went here based on the reviews I read on yelp and have been dying to try it out. Dripping springs needs a good thai food place and this trailer truly delivers. I can't wait to go back and try something else, like the sesame chicken or the basil fried rice. The chicken pad thai was fresh tasting and not overly spicy. It had a nice light taste, good white meat chicken, not rubbery or mystery chicken. It was a very good portion size for the price. The shrimp blankets were hot (temp, not spicy), which is good, I hate cold food ;) They were nice and crispy and came with sweet and sour sauce. I used to think this was the best Thai around therefore I looked past the ridiculous prices. However, I just picked up the worst meal ever from this food truck. The chicken still had the skin on it and was breaded and fried that way similar to KFC. It was disgusting. Not to mention it was all crap dark meat and NO white meat chicken at all. I paid $59 for THREE lousy meals that we did not even finish due to the gross meat. This is definitely different quality from what they used to have. Don't get lazy Aroi, you will lose business fast. If I wanted fat skin filled chicken I could go to KFC for $5. Two stars cuz your rice is still decent although overpriced. read more
