Stephanie was our server and she provided such great service, which is a huge plus because good service is so hard to find nowadays. She helped me decide between the breakfast sopes and chilaquiles, and while she assured me I couldn't go wrong with either..I'm glad I ordered the breakfast sopes. The wait was hella short, and the customer service was awesome. The portions are big, so choose wisely, but we had the spicy Mexican Benedict, the breakfast sandwich, the country breakfast, and a corner cake for the table, which were all quite yummy. I don't know why there are always lines at Pete's when this gem is just around the corner. I have absolutely loved Art's for breakfast for over 20 years. I was there before my boys were born, when they were still in car carriers, when they were in Little League and when they graduated from HS. We always celebrated with breakfast at Arts. The food is delicious! I have tried country fried steak, chilaquiles, and their flat pancake so far. The ambiance was great, music is not too loud where you cant hear your party, and very peaceful. The services not so great. This is the 2nd time ive been here and didnt have an issue before. We met a friend for breakfast and it was her 2nd time with our waiter Paula and our 1st. At the beginning it started great. When we got our food, not so great. We had asked for jelly and cholula when we ordered to be brought out, it wasnt. Paula did not visit us until the end of our breakfast to see if we needed anything else. We tried to wave her down and another table got up to ask her for something, we heard her say im on break go ask the front desk. No one came and checked on us for drink refills or if we needed anything so im assuming she didnt tell another waitress to tend to her tables while she was on break. At the end, we tried to wave her down for our check and couldnt get her attention so another waitress saw us waving and got our bill. Our friend told us she had the same bad service the first time with her too and thought maybe it was because it was a busy day. We went wednesday morning and it wasnt busy. I wanted a good old fashioned breakfast and I found it here! I like to ease into my day, nursing a couple cups of coffee before ordering. And to my pure amazement they have grits! I'm so glad I found this place! From the food, service & amhpostphere I will definitely be back. We sat at the bar and had the pleasure of speaking with Junior who recommended great drinks. I had an espresso martini and Carajillo (I love my coffee drinks). We got the German pancakes that were thin & had nice crispy edges but were still so soft & that lemon zest just gives that nice tanginess to match the sweetness. We came memorial weekend and got seated right away and the service was good and the food was pretty good. Also, the only thing that bothered me was that when we ordered our food, we got our eggs and and meat to the table and then we had to wait for our pancakes, which took a few minutes, so basically our other food was cold and we wanted to eat our pancakes, eggs and sausage together, so that was the only thing that happened so I had to pick to eat cold eggs or eat everything separate. Heaven on earth!! Walk into Art's and leave the busy world behind. This place is cool - bar vibe is right out of the Big Lebowski - something's happening here - the art is transporting. We visited Art's to check out the renovations. it's always been one of our favorite breakfast places. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! It was like we had walked into a pretentious hipster bar! It wasn't even noon, and the bar was full. Music was playing just loud enough to hear thumping drum and bass. The food hasn't improved at all, but the prices have doubled. The waitress, who I'm pretty sure was there before the remodel, was awesome, and the only reason I gave the place a star. Not our corner diner anymore. read more

The service was good and the restaurant is clean and well-kept. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and fries. I have never seen soooo much chicken on a sandwich! Impossible to eat without a knife and fork. The chicken was drowned in so much hot sauce it was almost inedible. I had to scrape off the crispy outside, and deconstruct the sandwich to eat it. Needs more coleslaw and pickles (to moderate the hot sauce) and should be served with ranch dressing. The fries were hot, good and plentiful. You will have enough food for at least one more meal. My wife and I really had high hopes for this place looking at its Yelp rating. The restaurant is not that pleasing from the outside but sometimes those places are the little gems and it's so expensive to do a exterior remodel on a breakfast restaurant with limited funds. It does look closed but get past that part - it's open early. Inside was going through a bit of a light remodel we thought as some of the bench seats were missing cushions. We can get over that as well - many restaurants are having tough financial times so we need to give them all a break. I ordered chicken fried chicken and over easy eggs and my wife ordered bacon and eggs which came with a biscuit and gravy. The service was excellent our waiter was friendly and attentive. Those stars are for him and his peers. Great job. The food was awful. My chicken fried chicken - was not fried nor even grilled. It's was a bunch of pulled chicken meat in a mix with eggs. Almost like an omelette. If I wanted an omelette- I would have ordered it. There was no flavor or seasoning at all other than bad-tasting chicken and a weird egg concoction. A mystery. When the waiter told me "they found a chicken breast" after informing me they were out.... I should have known better. If your looking around for a chicken breast - that's not a good sign, right? Both my wife and my gravy was plain white goo again with little flavor. Just awful. I had hoped for my potato's but they had those black eyes that should be removed from a proper potato dish - all throughout the country potato mix. So I ate one bite of my chicken and promptly spit it out and a few potatoes until I realized the prep was missing and apparently the cook thought the potato eyes are a delicacy.... My wife ate a bite of her gravy and biscuit and that was that - blah! So we paid for a meal we didn't eat but we were able to get some work done on our phones so I look at it as booth rental for an hour (food took a bit to prepare but that's fine). We left a good tip for our server though. Nice guy! Prices were very reasonable as well. She has endorsed good I fail to understand when your entire life commitment is to make a small restaurant successful- why not make the food the best you can? Taste your food. Maybe watch a few of those foodie shows. Or look up some recipes on Google. There's so many great examples of how to make a breakfast delicious. We are locals but won't be back and I love to go back and re-try but these were staple dishes that we know won't be made any different than we had this am. Sorry but just not a pleasant experience. If your coming from out of town - better go to Cafe Nouveau or Pete's Breakfast House but get there early - they fill up.
