Very dated and the air conditioning needed to be cranked up. 100+ degrees outside and the pumped up grills in use were canceling out the air. SERVICE: Here is where ALL the deductions add up. The manager showed us to our table and left. A young man came and asked what we wanted to drink. (No name given-just turn on a light over the table to flag him down. Taken from Walmart's playbook.). There was a language barrier and we were reduced to asking for water. The nicest person tonight was the guy who changed out our grill. Despite telling 3 employees it was our first time there, no explanation on how any of this worked. TIP: Go somewhere else.

First of all, I got an email inviting me to come visit the restaurant with a buy one get one free, but it kind of seemed like they were annoyed that we were using it. This could be just my anxiety, but I felt like we were treated a little bit less warmly by some of the staff than other tables. For example, a manager of some type was walking the floor. He stopped at the table before us and checked in on them, skipped us and went to the table after us and checked in on them, and then only on his way back to wherever he was going, he stopped reluctantly and acknowledged us. It definitely made me feel like we were not as welcome as the other tables. Second, I don't like the inclusion of the picanha for the higher price (vs. what they were doing before which was an upcharge if you wanted the steak), because the protein that I like at Casa Pollastro is the chicken. I don't really love their steak and do not want to pay $10pp more for it. Lastly, what I had loved about this restaurant in the past was that it felt like I was enjoying a meal at a family home, served with love and care. I think that they've made some changes which are smart for a restaurant, but it took away a lot of the warm and fuzzies for me. It felt like they're trying really hard to be a high-end restaurant but what I remember from this last experience was coldness and putting profit first. Now I can't be mad if they want to grow up as a restaurant and this is just part of the growing pains, but I will mourn the loss of the experience that we loved so much that we chose to have our engagement party at this restaurant. We will not be back.

I've eaten a lot of brisket around here over the years and theirs is still the one I measure everything else against. You cannot skip the Texas Twinkies either. It's a whole jalapeño stuffed with brisket and cream cheese, then wrapped in thick bacon, and it's every bit as ridiculous as it sounds in the best way. Grab a jalapeño cheddar sausage link and some mac and cheese on the side and you're set. The line can get long on weekends but it moves fast and it's worth the wait every time. If you live around here and somehow haven't been yet, you need to make a stop here! Ya'll won't regret it!

Our hibachi cooks name was "Japanese cowboy" (I can't make this up). This gentleman was so awesome and fun, he made the experience one of the best I've had. From the comments he made, to the way he treated my wife and daughter, this guy entertained us the whole time he cooked for us. He did the normal onion train, and juggled a few shrimp, but he also got personal and talked about the beauty of Japan. He will be my go to guy "when", not "if" I go back! The place is close, and for some reason doesn't pack a crowd as big as some of the other places, at least not the night we went, but because the service is great and the food is equally delicious, I can see myself returning soon, especially since my son was not with us... I can't wait to bring him back for a return visit.
