I have dined here before, but today's meal was awful- General Tso's chicken. The meat was virtually deep-fried chicken skin and grizzle, except for the small bone that was left in. The Won-Ton soup tasted like it was boiled with fish. When I told the cashier she got nasty and said "We have no dark meat!" Never again will I eat here... I will go hungry first. read more

Food is good but we've now determined a definite pattern. Every time we order from here we start seeing fraudulent charges on our credit card, mostly Uber charges but there are others as well such as Apple. To be good sushi or not to be... This location has seen more turnover than a griddle, and finally, someone landed flat and stuck. The wave produces quality sushi time after time. They are consistent, and in the sushi business, that is half the battle. The other half is freshness, and they on point in that department as well. I am typically ordering sashimi and hand rolls. I have yet to encounter a poor slice of raw fish. Method of acquisition is either pick up or delivery, never dined in, and if I am not mistaken, Covid has turned the wave into a takeout-only establishment. Give them time to produce, and you will not be disappointed. I have found that they are pretty spot on with their estimated wait times, and only those that arrive early or skip lunch have something to say. Great place with an amazing ambience and set up. The lighting and architecture is very cosy and intimate. The sushi rolls are reasonably priced and you get 6 regular rolls. The waitress we had at the beginning was very patient and nice but we did have a very impatient waiter towards the end we took it in a hilarious way but I can see some people taking offense to it. Brand spankin' new! About a month after opening, according to the manager, who by the way was EXCELLENT. We had to wait about 10-15 minutes when we got there (it was a Friday, and Valentine's Day), and upon request he allowed me to order edamame and miso soup to snack on (the tale of hangry human). The other hostess was trying her best to keep tabs on everyone walking through the door, but they could probably use another. Poor thing was running around like a headless chicken. The ambience: Wouldn't come here for a date. The design isn't the best for absorbing sound (there are convex mirrors all over the walls and ceiling up front), and can tend to get noisy, especially if there are kids around. The food: How else to try out a new place than order at least a dozen dishes? The cold sesame noodles are not the traditional heavyweight you may think, they were actually very light and refreshing. If you're looking for duck, the fajitas aren't exactly fajitas, they're more mooshu duck with flour wraps; go with the dumplings, you won't be sorry. The flank steak was also cooked perfectly. The miso soup wasn't the best I've had, nor was the Rainbow Roll, but hey, it was presented nicely and definitely fresh. Definitely IS the best sushi this area has seen since Spoon in Chappaqua. The service: Definitely a team effort, which works best during busy service. I could tell some of them were new to the job, but they understood hospitality. And unlike serving food, hospitality can't be taught. They definitely showed us that they cared for us and were constantly checking to see that we liked everything. We end up ordering mostly Thai food here and I have to say I wasn't too impressed with them. I guess most people praised their sushi offerings but I was feeling something warm in the belly the other day if I do come here again would definitely try their sushi and rolls. We tried both the chicken curry and beef Singaporean Style Rice Noodle. For the noodles it wasn't the typical curry powder Singaporean style that I was expecting. Its more like Pad thai with thin rice noodles instead. Definitely wasn't bad but didn't really wow me neither. The curry was again decent but honestly I had better Thai curry. For appitizers the Indian naan was decent but I thought they could be thicker. The summer spring roll was interesting to see they use a sweet and sour sauce instead of the usual peanut sauce that I'm more used to. Overall I don't think their hot food quite meet my expectations and really although the decors are modern and clean I feel like that's what you're paying for in the end, good ambiance. The service was decent but I thought servers could use to be more friendly. Its unfortunate that I didn't have quite the same experiences others had I guess this Asian fusion style isn't just for me. I must say I was skeptical that this would be another mediocre Asian Fusion place. I was mistaken. Service was excellent. It was a weekday night but they were about 50% filled. So also good to know it is popular. In terms of food what I had was excellent and well presented. The sesame chicken is great. Thai spring rolls also great and the sushi is as good as I have had in the local Asian fusion places. Price-wise it is about what most restaurants around here charge so I wont complain since at least here you have great attentive service and good food. When I got the menu for Asian Wave, I was excited. I noticed they were not in Yelp, so I created the business page for them. I wanted to wait to attend several times before writing a review. I have now been there 7+ times and I can't find anything to critique. The wait staff, hostess, and always visible and present owner are amazing. Super kind and welcoming. The food: top notch. I love Japanese food and sushi and have tried most of the places in Westchester. Asian Wave is easily in the top five. High quality ingredients, amazing fish, and stellar fried rice all contribute to the well deserved five star rating. I will be a regular at this establishment for years to come. read more

With the passing of Little Buddha we've moved to Asian Wave for "Saturday Night Sushi". While not as good as "LB" - Asian Wave has plenty to offer. First off employees are friendly and courteous upon pick-up arrival which was lacking at LB. As for the menu choices we found the Thai spring rolls somewhat greasy. The fried calamari was quite good as was the sloppy Tuna Pizza. The Szechuan Dumplings and Rock Shrimp Tempura was acceptable as well. The "Amazing Roll" wasn't - but it was enjoyed. Same with the "Lovely Roll" (another shrimp offering). There's nothing truly outstanding here but a solid takeout can be had. read more

My new favorite sushi place. I first went there with one of those amazon deals and was so impressed by the fresh delicious fish and special rolls that I ordered my usual Christmas Eve dinner (which is always a huge thing of sushi) from here this year. The atmosphere is great, its new aged and isn't loud like their closest competitor lucky Buddha so you can enjoy a conversation there. Their special rolls were all phenomenal and their sashimi the first night was rather small, but perfectly cut and so fresh, and on Christmas didn't seem to me to be that way. I dined here yesterday afternoon and though the service was great, the food wasn't. I had their Malaysia seafood dish that had scallops, shrimp, chicken, and veggie. Once I arrived home yesterday, I was extremely nauseous and stomach was killing me. Throughout the evening, I threw up twice and had a serious case of diarrhea. I strongly believe that I've contracted Neurotoxic shellfish poisoning. I was forced to call out of work today as I couldn't hold anything down. I would highly recommend you all to avoid their shellfish as much as possible so that this won't happen to you. Asian Wave was awesome. My mom brought me here, and this was her sixth time in. I fully understand why. The food is done well, presented well, and is affordable. We came in for lunch. There are $8 lunches ($10 for a "box," which adds three chicken dumplings and a california roll); each piece is done so nicely--the main dish, the salad (a full side salad with great ginger dressing!), the rice, etc. There is also free green tea served in pretty tea cups. We shared two lunches--the General Tso's and teriyaki salmon. Both wonderful. The General Tso's was one of the best I've ever had. Crunchy and fresh with great, pungent sauce. The salmon was cooked really well and served in this tangy sauce that felt rich. One of the lunches we did as a box, and so I got to try the sushi and dumplings. Both were done really well and portioned nicely. The ambiance is funky--lots of mirrors and tiles--but you get into it. Even the bathroom is nice. Of course we had to go back. A weekend lunch this time, and only four of us. I didn't mention this in my initial review, but my husband isn't a seafood eater. He's tried it here and there (usually under duress), but isn't a big fan. On this visit, that changed. Big time. What we devoured this time: Wonton Seaweed Soup - Hubby really enjoyed this. The wontons were delicate, not at all like the doughy lumps you get at a typical Chinese restaurant. Tom Yam Soup - Tangy and spicy. While very tasty, it is not the best version of this soup in the area. Lobster Asparagus Soup - Nice bites of lobster in a mild broth. Good, but not a must-have. Honey Black Ribs - Just as good this time as last. Any time we come here, we will get these. Double Crispy - Crispy tempura chicken and shrimp. The batter was light and with a perfect texture and no trace of greasiness. My husband ended up loving the shrimp in this, with and without the accompanying sauce. Spicy Crunchy Tuna Naruto - Yummy. Hubby eyed it nervously, and politely declined to try it. More for the rest of us, yay! Rainbow Naruto - Another tasty one. Hubby didn't feel like trying this one, either. King Crab Mango Roll - Perhaps because this looked to be the least exotic of the rolls plated before us, hubby tried this one. He even experimented with a bit of wasabi (and liked it). Yummy Yummy Roll - Spicy yellowtail and spicy tuna with avocado and "crunchy". While my parents and I enjoyed this (even my mother, who can't handle spicy food - here, she loves it), hubby eyed it uncertainly. He ended up trying it and enjoying the flavor (though not particularly the texture). Pink Lady Roll - Shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, eel, and cucumber wrapped in pink soybean nori. Totes delish. They totally have the tempura thing down, and the crunchiness pairs so nicely with the spicy tuna. The eel sauce and cucumber balance it out beautifully. No-go for hubs, he was a little nervous about the pink nori (seriously). Angel Roll - Shrimp tempura topped with spicy crunchy king crab and tobiko. Again, delicious .... and hubby agreed. Deluxe Spider Roll - Soft shell crab, spicy tuna, and seaweed salad topped with black and red tobiko. When soft shell crab is done right, it's utterly fabulous - and this was done perfectly. It was so good that my husband wants to order it again next time we go here. A Limoncello dessert and some mochi rounded out the meal nicely. Very nicely. We arrived around 8pm on a Friday and had a bit of a wait. The staff was great - constantly coming by to see if we needed a drink and keep us updated on table status. It really wasn't a long (or unexpected) wait but we appreciated the attentiveness of the staff. The sushi was really fresh. We tried a bunch of different rolls,including the salmon fan roll, which was great and had a different twist with smoked salmon. My very fresh salmon sushi was a little small in size but an excellent value for $2.50 per piece; most sushi restaurants I patronize charge $3 or $4 per piece and give a larger piece of rice although not a much larger piece of salmon on top. VERY strong wasabi; it actually made me cry. Very classy upscale decor and cool vibe make up for the unexceptional food and presentation. I visited today after being shutout at Tobi Asian Bistro today. I walked in for a late lunch and treated graciously and with professionalism. Nice place inside and you'll like the attentive staff. Great ambiance! Food on the other hand... Not so great. I ordered chicken and broccoli, a very basic dish that is hard to make a mistake with, and the chicken came back VERY UNDERCOOKED. I swapped out a side of white rice for fried rice and ended up with an actual side of fried rice... The fried rice was barely fried and was loaded with onions. All in all, the food was edible, but Asian Wave has lost my patronage. Such a shame. A friend highly recommended this restaurant. We wound up here last night after another favorite was closed on Monday's. There were 3 of us, I got the General Tso chicken that was recommended by my friend. Best I've had in s long time, all white meat no grizzle or skin like on most places.
