Hm, not bad, this food truck of all things sausage…read more Each sausage is 1/3 lb, and is made by a local butcher according to The Sausage Syndicate's specific specifications. Ha, try saying that 7 times fast. During a recent food truck feast, one of my friends got the Wiseguy, which is spicy pork sausage with grilled onions, sweet peppers, and house made peach thyme mustard accompanied by a side (spicy potato salad, in his case). He ate most of the Wiseguy before turning over the rest of the sausage and most of the potato salad to me. What can I say, I'm a cannibalistic pig. The pork sausage was pretty decent, but that's basically it. The grilled onions and sweet peppers were limp and oily. There was some zing to the mustard, which was unique, but unfortunately, the bread could also have been better. It wasn't as crisp and tasty as I had hoped. Even the sausage and mustard couldn't have made the rest of the meal shine. The potato salad was pretty disappointing also; it was really bland without much taste. For $8.50, I was hoping for much better...but maybe I'll give it another try...all on my own another time. And yes, they do take Square.

The Sausage Syndicate did the trick: the food was good, service was fast, and the staff was friendly. They get three stars for two reasons: 1) $8.50 is just too much for a sausage and chips. Throw in a drink and I'll get behind it. 2) Sausage is heavy (i'm pretty full), but for the price I wanted more toppings, or more chips, or something. I got the Wiseguy, which is apparently the crowd favorite, and it was really good, but could have been so much more. The peppers and onions are a nice touch, but what you get looks like something you could make at home. Also, maybe I'm missing something, but the peach thyme mustard just tasted like mustard to me. The chips are deeelicious. And honestly it was a good sausage. With some tweaks this food truck will be where it's at.

Twas a dreary day before the 2 Girls 4 Wheels food truck arrived at my workplace. I was feeling off. Maybe it was the lack of sleep, the grey gloom-filled sky that drizzled Colorado's leftover rain down from the Rockies, or simply an underlying existential dread surfacing in front of my face. Lunchtime rolled around and I fashioned myself a sad excuse for a meal: a few slabs of Costco salami and a slice of Pepper Jack cheese tucked between two measly bookends of bread. I peaked outside, noticing a long line of coworkers extending past the iron entrance gates, patiently awaiting their orders. "Too long..." I thought to myself as I slid back into the shadows of my corporate chair. I winced at the clock as their time window inched closer to an end. A bellow from my cavernous stomach thrusted me back outdoors. Optimistically I strolled up five minutes before close, hoping they were still open for business even though the line had been thoroughly demolished by the daily work bell. I muttered something inquisitively. Both girls enthusiastically informed me they had one sandwich left. My ears stretched upward as a smile spread across my face. Shortly after handing over my plastic payment, they informed me their machine was slow to reboot. I offered Venmo but was kindly shot down and sent away with a free masterpiece of a sandwich. Only one ray of sunshine broke through the sea of St. Louis clouds that day and it was there in that moment. In between two perfectly circular toasted buns laid a more than generous amount of grilled steak, topped with juicy caramelized onions, accented with a garlic aioli. All held together in devour-able mouthfuls with melted Provel. Thank you 2 Girls 4 Wheels.

The owner cried and pleaded on the phone trying to urgently get us to tow it out to an event by 4PM in which she called us at 1PM. We worked with her and even got the Food Truck out there an hour early at 3PM. She even ran behind to their catering event that started at 4PM that she was supposed to be catering. Had us waiting around for another 45 mins to hour after we delivered food truck to venue. We being an understanding small business accepted that she would keep her word and promise to pay us the remaining balance following the conclusion of the event. Sunday comes around and still no full payment. Here it is Tuesday minimal response back and no call back. Very unprofessional and disorganized company. Highly don't recommend ‼

Mr. J's BBQ is a BBQ stand on the NE corner of The Kirkwood Farmers Market…read more You can find him there on Thursday and Saturday. He serves great St. Louis backyard style BBQ prepared in a couple barrel pits. He prepares several meats every day he is there and has a number of sides. Today I tried his ribs, his brisket, his pulled chicken, and chicken thigh. All had good smoke flavor and were well cooked and seasoned. I really enjoyed the chicken thigh and the ribs. Don't get me wrong the other items were good, but I enjoyed those 2 the most. I'm not a fan of pulled chicken, I've noted that previously, but Mr. J's pulled chicken was right good. He puts a little of his se'lah gold sauce with it and some sautéed peppers and onions. That makes for good flavor. The reason for the 4 not 5 stars is minor. I had several slices of brisket on my plates and the first slice I picked up while nicely smokey and well seasoned was tough. However, every other slice was perfectly tender indicating a proper cook. I only tried his Se'lah Original Sauce. But let me tell you he has a wonderful quintessential St. Louis style BBQ sauce in that. Man is it good. I get to KFM often during the summer. I'll be back by for sure. Y'all enjoy!!

We were taking to-go as we had one more stop to make on the way home. He took our order at the counter and answered a few questions with ease and a great attitude. Beyond the chili cheese fries, I ordered a hot dog plain with a side of the smokey, pepper mustard I love. I took a bite of the hotdog before I put it away for my next days lunch. We tried the chili cheese fries, and they were really good. I like the chili and could order that on its own. We know Steve's has the best fries! Next time I will get my hotdog with fries and a cup of chili to eat and dunk the fries in!
