Great food, very friendly staff, and very reasonable prices. We will be coming again and again. Classic Thai food, with very fresh ingredients. Every bite was good! My wife had the Pad Thai, and I had the Panang Curry. We both enjoyed and shared our meals. The bill was under $20, and we had enough to take home for a solid lunch for one of us. We both had chicken dishes this time, and the meat was well selected, and well trimmed! All white meat, no random parts like you find at some places. We would like the option of getting a glass of wine or beer with our meal, but that's about the only critique I can think of. A great meal at a reasonable price. read more

I gave one star for the efficiency of the food however I wouldn't have minded if they took more time to make a decent plate. My food is bland, tastes a bit chalky, and honestly I have made tofu pad Thai at home and it tastes much better. The tofu is soft and unseasoned. Our favorite dishes are the yellow curry, the orange (flavor) chicken and the pad thai. I finally got the name of our delivery guy so I could compliment him as well. My friend recommended we meet here for lunch & I must admit I was hesitant with all the negative reviews. Maybe there were a few issues before but all those wrinkles seem to be ironed out. The service was quick and friendly. Everyone was attentive and more than happy to provide the Yelp 10% discount as well as check on the status of our dining experience multiple times. I'll comment on what we ordered. My niece my sister and I shared these plates. We Agreed with everything that is written in this review. Tom yum chicken soup: this soup was tasty, flavorful not too spicy. It was a decent tom yum. Their was a perfect ratio of meat, veggies and broth! The chicken was a little over cooked for my taste. Beef Pad Thai: not at all what I'm used to. This dish was not the traditional pad Thai that I've had before. No limes were on the plate, no peanuts, the paste they use is extremely sweet, very bland noodles. No flavor whatsoever. I kept taking a bite looking for that traditional yummy goodness that's associated with Pad Thai and we just could not grasp the flavor. I'm not a spice lover at all but I found myself drowning the noodles in their spicy chili to add flavor to the plate. The beef was rubbery, bland, lacked flavor. Seafood fried rice: again this dish was very bland, no flavor. That's about as much as I can write about this rice. On the plus side the wait staff is very nice and helpful. We got the Pad Thai with tofu, Drunken Noodles with chicken, Egg Rolls, and a Thai Ice Tea. First off, all of the food was delicious. But be careful, with the drunken noodles, when they say that it's spicy, they really mean it. My boyfriend is a huge fan of spice, but he was having a hard time eating this dish. He enjoyed it in the end, but he downed it with at least 32 ounces of water (and was very sweaty). Ordered twice during lunch at work and both times my order was WRONG! .... and then, the dirty little delivery boy had the nerve to ask for a TIP after he forgot 1 of the 2 Thai Tea's ($5 ea). If you are craving Thai and don't want to really drive within a 1 mile radius of this area than I think this is a completely decent place for Thai food. Unfortunately, I'd only say that IF you really don't want to go anywhere else. I think this place used to be a Hawaiian restaurant, which might account for the more super casual layout of the restaurant while the rest of the furniture suggests it's supposed to be a bit nicer? And by furniture I am referring to the gigantic glittery sign. A confusing ambiance. Oh and don't be put off that the waiter is "texting" throughout your order. They apparently are "sending your order to the kitchen" (or Facebook stalking you, who knows). We had the Pad See Ew, Duck curry and seafood noodles (not sure if that's what it was called, but that's pretty much what it was). The pad see ew was tasty, the seafood noodles were fresh, but all too much like the pad see ew, and the duck curry could have been MUCH more flavorful. I love coconut milk, but too much of it is just bland. Sounds like the Hawaiian place that this restaurant took over was pretty crappy so as long as they maintain status quo OR get better they shouldn't suffer the same fate. We ordered this for delivery. I got drunken noodles and my dining companion got a green curry with pork. Both were tasty. We disagreed about the chicken coconut soup. I loved it. It is one of my favorite soups. He said he thought it tasted like heated coconut milk. I could taste the fish sauce and lime. I think he was wrong. The only bad part was the egg roll. I often go here for lunch since it's close to the office. The food is delicious and the staff are extremely friendly. There was one visit I left my very expensive designer sunglasses and I went back and they had it for me there. I feel often if this was any other restaurant I probably would have never seen those sunglasses again. I love getting their glass noodle salad which is tangy, sour, and spicy. This place is alright... the food is average, what you would expect from a tiny food joint. As other yelpers have mentioned, their customer service etiquette could use some help. On the night I ordered take out, the people behind the counter were definitely stressed out - probably because they seemed to have a lot of take out orders. But what makes it awkward was that when I walked through the door and stood at the front counter, I was not acknowledged for a while.. not even a "hi" or a "Be right with you" when they were working behind the counter right in front of me. And to make the situation worse, the guy behind the counter was practically yelling at the girl employee in Thai... also VERY awkward. Keep your dirty laundry and personnel drama behind the scenes... its very unprofessional to hash out your issues 2 feet away from customers that you're ignoring. They put carrots, mushrooms, green beans, and cabbage in it which waters everything down, and they barely put any basil which is supposed to be the dominant flavor On the bright side the seafood tom yum is delicious, fish is tender, broth is flavorful... This is my favorite thai place in Long Beach both on taste and price (I really learned to enjoy thai by coming here and never much liked it anywhere else until finding Aura Thai). I'd come a whole lot more if I lived nearby. I've always enjoyed everything I've tried: pad thai, fried rice, duck noodle soup, pad see ew, mango sticky rice, and many more. I love noodles! Not the best but whatever. The check came and she charged me for my dish!! I asked why I was being charged for a dish in which I found a FEATHER in my food.
