If I could only order one thing from this restaurant, it would be the oden soup with fishcake! The flavor of the soup was so good, not too salty nor sweet. The spicy rice cake was too spicy for me but I'm someone who usually orders mild spice. The kimbap was just okay.

Sikhye slush is something I truly crave living in the Midwest. Thanks to the food court in KTP, I get order all my cravings in one spot while the kids run around and play.

Been coming here for years and will continue to do so, I always order the sik-hye dukk ggochi, and the oden soup for when I'm feeling under the weather, today I got the takoyaki and the sik-hye, the food is made fresh and presentable, with perfect portions, even the takoyaki is perfectly portioned, unlike some places that give you a little to no actual taco in their takoyaki, this place is my go to for Korean street food, its underground so it may be hard to find, this place is very welcoming, although some of the other restaurants beside them may be a bit rude, this place has always treated me with dignity and respect and I am a loyal customer for it..,

Went back to just get the fish cake with oden soup! Love how the soup is lightly sweet! Got three this time! Brought my daughter and her friend. They both loved the refreshing snack!

This spot is located in the food court of koreatown plaza and know for their spicy rice cakes and kimbbap. But what I love most about this place is the sik hye slush! So nostalgic and so good. Service here is quick and for the most part friendly. Good for a quick bite

I always stop by this spot when I am anywhere near Koreatown in LA! I had the fried shrimp, spicy rice cake, and the fish cake with Oden soup and a coke. The fried shrimp are like tempura. Nice crispy outside and delicious shrimp on the inside. Made fresh to order. The spicy rice cakes were also good. Like mochi bit spicey and also has little pieces of fish cake. I really like the Oden soup with fishcake. I like to enjoy a bite of the fish cake and a sip of the soup. The combo flavor is great! Everything is a bit spicey so keep that in mind if you are sensitive to spicey foods! Prices are great as my total, with tip was only $17.15!

Upon looking for some Korean food to be delivered, Awoolim appeared as an option. Prices are very reasonable 2+5; Awoolim focusing on some street foods from Korea and some fusion dishes. I decided to get some tteobokki, fried chicken and bulgogi tacos. Upon delivery, I noticed that the tteobokki was perfect! It was not too chewy nor stiff, and the flavor was a great balance of savory and spicy. The fried chicken was great too, the chicken was cooked well and had a nice coating, though it was a bit on the sweeter side. The bulgogi tacos were okay, with the tortillas being rather flimsy (though that can be attributed to the delivery). The bulgogi was fine, but there was a dearth of toppings. All in all, the dishes at Awoolim were great, and I know where to go when craving some tteobokki or other Korean street foods!

this place is great for the korean strest food vibes. I got the sikhye, small tteokbokki, dduk gochi, and the oden. my favorite was probably the oden since the broth was super flavorful . i'd probably pass on the tteokbokki as it wasn't my style. the rice cakes were more soft than chewy. the dduk gochi was really good. super crunchy (crunchier than any other ones I've tried). I wish they had the one with sausage! the sikhye was super refreshing and sweet. i'd suggest trying it if you like rice drinks! food was super quick. it is on the pricey side (all of this was around $16).

I got 2 orders of the fish cake ($2 each) and an order of takoyaki ($6.50 for 6). I've always wanted to try this version of fish cake as I see Korean actors & actresses eat it all the time. It taste like fish cake lol it is nothing crazy. But it is cool to eat it this way on a stick and have it folded. The soup taste like the fish cake, this is perfect for cold days. The takoyaki was too gooey on the inside which we didn't really like. The workers were great and very nice. It took about 20 minutes for me to get the food which I thought it would be a lot faster. They have a lot of other Korean street food snacks so this is the perfect place to get them!

Stumbled upon this shop perusing within a food court. Line man sitting at the counter reading his daily paper. A quick glance at the uninteresting menu unexpectedly caught my attention ~ sikhye slushie? Curiously ordered one $3.50. This centuries old traditional Korean rice drink is simple in ingredients between rice and sweetness. Awoolim recipe is balanced perfectly and in a slushie took it to next level especially on this hot day in LA! Guzzled one, ordered another. When leaving the food court, I had to turn around and walk back just to tell the man who seem to be the owner that he drink was awesome. He gave me the look, "yeah, I know."

Love this cute little Korean stall. This place has this best sikhye (Korean rice drink) in my opinion. I've had it at other places where it was just overwhelmingly sweet. This place makes it perfectly sweet with the right amount of iciness. Perfect combo to your meal especially with the spicy rice cakes! I also like ordering the spicy rice cakes, fish cake soup, and crispy seaweed rolls here. Perfect place for a quick snack. I haven't tried their kimbap yet, but I will definitely give it a try next time. Their parking lot can be super busy during peak hours even though it is in a big parking structure. Make sure to get validation when you order!

I really wanted authentic Korean food that was not kbbq and not tofu and this place delivered! This restaurant is in a small strip mall. The strip mall has other Korean food options. They have a valet parking system of sorts but we didn't pay, we self parked. The attendant told us we were fine. It was approx 9pm when we arrived and also a week night. I have no idea how much valet parking is here. We were a small party of two. Upon arrival, we were notified they were out of RICE. Um..what?? That's a good problem (for them to have) but not for consumers. I feel this really limited our options to just soup. I honestly didn't want soup but there wasn't much else we could order. The bowls were large and came out piping hot. It was a satisfying meal and not too heavy. The price point was on the pricey side. Our waiter told us business has not been the same post covid. Some dishes are between $40-$60. I asked for a soup and they were able to make it less spicy. My friend got a soup with dumplings in it. He put a good amount of soy sauce to give the broth some life. Also, the banchan is on point. We asked for a refill and devoured the second portions. If you wanna impress friends with Korean food, bring them here! Its a casual place.

Also they were cleaning the kitchen while serving food which was kinda not sanitary with all the water splashing on the floor of the kitchen while they were making food. In fact, we regularly brought visitors here. They raved about how good the spare ribs were and even insisted that their last meal before LA should be at Ham Ji Park.  Here's my belated review of what I consider the best spare ribs in LA. From the moment the Korean-style spare ribs arrived at the table, it was clear this was a dish worth savoring. Each rib bore a beautifully charred exterior--deeply caramelized without a hint of bitterness--offering that irresistible smoky aroma the moment it was placed before us. The glaze was nothing short of spectacular. A perfect balance of sweet and spicy, it clung to the meat with a glossy sheen that promised flavor in every bite. There was just enough heat to make your taste buds sit up and pay attention, but it never overwhelmed the deeper, richer notes of the sweet components. But what truly set these ribs apart was the texture. Beneath the charred surface lay meat so tender it practically fell off the bone with the gentlest tug of a fork. Each bite was juicy and succulent, the result of careful cooking and a respect for quality ingredients. Ham Ji Park, you will be missed. Thank you for the memories. Thank you for the food.

If you're searching for some of the city's best pork, then those in the know will bring up Ham Ji Park. For 2 decades, generous platters of pork ribs and pork neck stew decked every table. Now, our Korean friends lament the loss of their favorite pork joint in the city. The Koreatown proper location is located in the Royal Plaza mini-mall, just a few blocks off bustling Wilshire. Discounted parking is available in a lot across the street from the Chevron gas station. From the street, the entrance is flanked by potted plants and an enclosed street-ery. Inside, stainless steel chairs are pressed up against wooden tables, each outfitted with a metal grill. Oppressive fluorescent lighting shines down on the stone grey walls, which are left undecorated apart from a few flatscreens. Multi-lingual chatter blends with the sizzle of platters. I visited with some friends for a weeknight dinner, and about half of the tables were occupied. We shared a spread of grilled platters and sizzling soups. The meal began with a carafe of barley tea and a mostly standard spread of banchan. Across our food, the best dish was the signature Charbroiled Pork Spare Rib. The ribs were flavorful without feeling gamey, and the meat was complemented by sweet caramelized onions. The pork ribs handily outdid the good-not-great Charbroiled Beef Short Rib. Lastly, the Milt and Cod Rose with Vegetables stew was fishy and briny, appropriately flavored for the Korean palate. The service was appropriately attentive, although I would've appreciated more intentional refills of our banchan ramikens. The rib plates cost upward of $35 each, while the soup was just under $30. The portions were hearty; a single entree platter could reasonably feed 2 moderately hungry bellies. It's a shame to hear that Ham Ji Park has closed; I'm kicking myself for not trying their pork neck stew earlier.
