Stopped by to dine in after a nearby appointment and were very happy we did! For a casual quick bite, Ay Chiwawa was perfect. We had great service from our waitress. She said the whole menu was available even at breakfast time, so we shared a few breakfast tacos and a chicken enchiladas verdes plate - everything was delicious! Food came out accurately, quickly, and hot. I did have a slightly unpleasant finding halfway through my enchiladas but the manager was great about taking care of it, and that little incident will not stop me from ordering those again! Yum! The tortillas were soft and fresh, it's hard to stop eating them. I see some people have complaints about their drive-thru experience but I have none about dining in. This place can't get simple taco orders correct. I've been here three times in a row and have received the wrong tacos in the drive thru line. All three times I had to be somewhere and all had to turn around except the first time that I didn't check them and had to just give the tacos away at work because I could not eat the tacos they gave me. I'm not sure what is going on, but the kitchen and the person taking orders need to communicate better. After this last time, I'll just go through the intersection to Las Palapas to get breakfast tacos. read more

I come here all the time. I also regularly get their take out (they have a drive through). I don't think I have ever had a bad experience. The food is delicious. They are quick. And friendly. Full bar, great signature drinks. Creative and classic tasty Mexican food. I seriously doubt you will regret eating here. You might even become a regular like I have! read more

The best Mexican food in San Antonio. As a person from El Paso, don't ignore this restaurant. So many good entrees, two of my favorites are the WaWa Bowl with their marinated and grilled steak, and their Mole Chicken Enchiladas. One of the best Mole dishes I've ever had, even from El Paso. Little secret, the owner is one of the original owners of Las Palapas, and his cooks, servers, are the original crew from years ago. That's says a lot in the restaurant business. 5 Stars read more

Went to lunch with one on my old Army buddies. Firstly, was impressed by the friendliness and professional of our waitstaff. Restaurant was clean and tidy. I ordered puffy chicken tacos. They came out puffy and not soggy (some establishment). Beans and rice were also great. Would recommend for a quick lunch. read more

if I could give it a 0 review, I would. I asked the waitress for a water and a soda with very little ice. They were both filled with ice. I had to take out some ice I asked for a enchilada with no onions. It was covered in onions. I asked her if the corn tortillas were thin or thick she said they were thin I said OK, and the tortillas were thick, the potatoes were hard we asked for bacon and they were burnt, the over easy eggs were runny. When I went to the ladies room the ladies room had not been cleaned. The first two stalls were really nasty then there was no soap in either dispenser . That is the first time we've been there and the last time we've been there we will never go back again. read more

This place is awesome!! My 3 year old daughter and I started going every weekend because she loves it so much! The staff is so friendly and engaging. Elizabeth and Oscar are the best and honestly the main reason Joelle loves it so much. Breakfast tacos are excellent which is why I love going to much! My wife and I also started ordering dinner delivery every so often because the value to so great for dinner considering the quality of food! Highly recommend. read more

Spent $18 on 3 small tacos and a sweet tea. The carne guisada "breakfast special" tacos had no meat. Tiny, skinny tacos. Definitely will not go back to this place. Usually, I don't mind enough to make a review, but I could not let this get away with it. First off, the wait to have someone even visit our table took forever, then there was the appetizers, they give you this small basic cup with some chips and, the salsa is so bare that when we asked to get something spicier...they just gave us a bowl of this mustard colored liquid that was just all spice..then came the "real food" but I'd rather call it grey matter than was warmed up on a plate and made to look legit..the damn beans were even so bad It deserved a felony just to serve it. Don't go here, the envorment is basic, the service takes forever on a non busy day, and the food being served there is so bad it should be on death row. read more

I'm not sure if we had a new waitress....we received chips and salsa and placed our orders right away, received the rice, beans, guacamole, sour cream for fajitas, ten minutes later, received the flour tortillas and more chips, no salsa. I had to go to the front and ask for the meats for our fajitas.... Meanwhile, waitress was catering to other tables. The food was ok but surely would have been much better if it was hot....everything was cold by the time we got the meat for fajitas. I hate leaving negative feedback! I think it's important the staff understands the quality of service is what keeps the place filled or not filled. We will try the other restaurant in Spring branch because it is quite a cute place. read more

Severer took 30 minutes to bring salsa. Asked for chicken dish got steak. Asked for Pepsi got Dr Pepper. Asked for cheese sauce on my chimi. Got charged 3.60 to have shredded cheese on top. Last time service was better and food tasted better. read more

Delicious Tex-Mex, amazing Cha-Mango margaritas, Live music, and wonderful service, one of our favorite local places.

A lot better than I expected from a Rex-Mex restaurant with such a hokey name. I'm a Tex-Mex snob not easily satisfied and with tastes cultivated for my favorite food style 70 years ago in my home Waco area, which is different from that generally served in South Texas. To me, the cheese enchilada is the bell cow for the menu, and as it rates, the restaurant rates. The menu brags that their "Tex-Mex Enchiladas" have chili con carne on them, which is essential to my idea of a cheese enchilada rather than the usual red goo in this area called "chili gravy." Although the chili con carne that came on my plate was unrecognizable as such, it was passable anyway. Give it a C, however the chip, salsa, chili con queso, rice, refrained beans, & chalupa were very complimentary. My wife raved over her tacos al carbon diner, which came with superior charro beans. The beef in her tacos came diced, which we had not seen before and was appreciated making the taco easier to eat without pulling it apart while trying to bite off pieces. The meat had excellent flavor. The building has been newly renovated from the old and regrettable La Palapo that was in the space before now being quite nice & clean. The staff still masks if that is important to you, but we were not asked to, and our waiter was a pro with speedy service. Give those qualities an A. Over all, I rate the experience @ 4 stars, and if the chili con carne could be upgraded to Texan quality, it would get the extra star. The owner might consider merely asking his food service to sell him jugs of Home Style Chili brand chili, which is very serviceable for enchiladas. read more

Stuffed avocado was good. Avocado was good not too sure about the beef it was supposed to have. It was stuffed with veggies and not one piece of meat. The meat it did have was 8 pieces of 3mm x 3 mm cubed meat. Service was good. Clean place. read more

Chips were cold... salsa taste like it was poured out of Pace Picate jar and has been sitting out in the open all day.... definitely wasn't fresh. Ordered Supreme Nachos which were cold also and only came with chips covered with cold refried beans, cold ground beef and cold melted cheese... no tomatoes, onions, or jalapeño were included, only a spoonful of sour cream and guacamole. Your business information says your open sundays from 8-3. But it should say drive thru only! Or put a sign out front so people don't unload their entire family full of kids and find the door is locked. Very very annoying. read more
