Amazing food!!! My friends and I came here after attending a wedding in Temecula for lunch. It was a little crowded when we got there but the food was well worth the wait. I don't live near this location but in Sunday was running errands close to it so we decided to stop and get some food. I've always had a good impression of this place so I wanted to give it a try. I ordered the machaca breakfast burrito and I have to say that unfortunately it didn't even crack my top three favorites (Odalberto's, Cruz Tacos and MSR, all in Murrieta). It was not terrible but not great either, just ok. My wife ordered a California burrito and initially the meat was a bit dry, almost as if it was old meat but it got better. The place was busy with several tv's around and even though it was raining people kept coming in, so it's a popular place but we probably won't be back to it with so many other options around. read more

I'm so happy that we decided to come here because we were helped right away and the person who helped us was very friendly. We didn't have to wait long for the food and overall, my friend and I were very pleased with the quality of food. I've been coming here for 8 years and I've never been disappointed in all that time. They just recently expanded thier floor space by 30% in the last 8 months. The veterinary business relocated on the other side of this large strip mall....so they grabbed up about half of the now vacant space. This area is now where the alcohol is dispensed. Plus about 8 tables are set in this area. In addition they do have an outside patio, but....they are not dog friendly. I am a huge fan of thier chips, they are light and just taste good. They have a salsa bar where you help your self plus some assorted side veggies like radishes and carrots. The way it works is you wait in line to place your order, pay and you get a number and the food is brought to your table. Sodas are self serve....so all you can drink. As I mentioned earlier for beer you step over to the other side to pick up your beer. Big selection of craft and Mexican beer. I went with the beef taquitos with extra guacamole. They call them the rolled tacos..lol $5.85 and you get three and they are awesome. The wife went with Carne Asada taco. Today was a beer day so I went and Ironfire Double IPA.....woo hoo muy hops! The tortillas are made there and you can see the lady making them as you wait in line to order. The food has an authentic taste of the South West flavor. No tex mex here... The facility is bright, always has Mexican sports on TV like soccer etc. They keep everything wiped down and clean. read more

I've been visiting this place for a couple years now and haven't gotten around to writing a review. This place is delicious without fail. I have NEVER been unhappy with any dish here. I have tried their tacos, burritos, and nachos. I prefer their pork and chicken. They are taking proper precautions for COVID and ensuring clients are distancing six feet while waiting for their orders. I miss the salsa bar though. Can't wait till that's open! read more

I order food from this place all the time. The California burritos are good and they have well seasoned meat and the flavor is good - don't get me wrong w the two stars. This is the third and final time I am ordering the nachos though. It's barely any meat and some cheese on their chips. I should have taken a pic before. Pathetic. The Alberto's near Rancho has Super Nachos for the same price and they load it up. Delish! Loaded. This place - wtf... here is what was left after I got to the toppings and what chips were in there. $10??? Noooo.... I will say that this place is overpriced and has small portions. After dining at another restaurant the night before that proved unsatisfactory I was a bit apprehensive to check out a new place near where I was staying while in Temecula. My friend assured me that she loved Azteca so we ventured forth. A bucket of ice cold beer later and Queso tacos made me one full & happy traveler! I lived both the Shrimp & the Meat one. Their salsa bar was ok. Staff was attentive, relaxed, friendly. The price is reasonable as we walked out satiated with no leftovers! I'll definitely be back next visit to Temecula! read more

Back again over a year later and just as good as we remember! Their queso burrito is one of those epic meals that you will think and talk about forever, it's really worth the drive here no matter where you are coming from! They have expanded and rented the space next door, opened the walls and is twice as big but still just as full. Maybe my friends hyped it up and it made my expectations super high but I am only giving them a 3-star (A-OK) rating. I think their prices are a little high (we are in Temecula afterall)- I paid almost $9 for 3 tacos. My friends said it's like Tacos El Gordo but I felt like the amount of food and the quality of the meats weren't even close! I like that they give you a basket of chips when you eat in-store and the salsa bar is not bad. I also think that the service is a little slow- the line to order took a really long time. I came in on a weekday afternoon to try a couple of their tacos. The restaurant is clean and has plenty of table seating, counter seating with a window looking into the grill and kitchen, and a patio. All of the salsas at the salsa bar were good, especially to dip the chips in while waiting for my order. I got the Aztek and Quesa tacos. The Aztek was the main reason for my visit as they include pickled? cactus in it, so that was a novel ingredient to try out. The Quesa packed much more flavor in it as the "crunchy cheese" encased the hot carne asada and guacamole for a crispy bite that then melts in your mouth. I definitely would go for this again. Service was decent. and the food came out in good time. Though not as central for some off of the highway, Aztek is a nice place to stop in and eat! read more

Aztek Tacos was the perfect drunken snack!! I stopped into Aztek in between going to winery's and it was the perfect bite. I got a bean and cheese burrito which is a classic and was very cheesey! My boyfriend got a California burrito and really liked it!! Tasted like fries! Both burritos were HUGE! And decently cheap! They had a good salsa bar with lots of options. Only downside that they make you pay for chips. It has a fast food feel to it but a bit nicer! They also had a full service bar which is nice! read more

Given the current climate, I hate to post a bad review but the manager needs to see this and make changes. I usually trust the 4-star places to be good. Spent $55 on dinner for four plus 8 oz guacamole and large chips. The guoc was runny and lacked flavor, chips lacked salt. Two of the four dinners were HORRIBLE! The Chile Rellano did not have the center melted and the "sauce" for the topping was clear like veggie soup (see picture). I ordered flour tortillas and was given corn. The carne asada Taco was ok but lacked the cheese that I added and paid for! The taco combos were good per my family members. The carne asada burrito was meat, onion, and cilantro--dry and salty. Honestly, one of the worst Mexican meals IMO. read more

I was saddened that they didn't have lengua available, but all that was erased when I got two Asada tacos, two al pastor quesatacos (crispy cheese wrapped around the meat!) and two aztek tacos (with nopales AKA cactus) - the tortillas here are the bomb, so tender and delicious. When they do have lengua, you have to get it. It's so tender and delicious, spiced perfectly every time. Okay I'm heading back now. read more

Everything I have had from here is good. Price is a bit high. Parking sometimes isn't great but enough spots in the plaza that your usually not too far from the storefront. Plenty of inside seating. Salsa bar is good. Bathroom could definitely be better. read more

Can't believe I haven't left a review. My kids and I have been coming here for a few years. I love their Aztek burritos and over all, everything has been good and great service. So today I went in and wanted to try the Birria. So I get home excited to try it and the first thing I saw was the SMALLEST portion of Salsa I have ever seen ( second no limes but I have some at home so I didn't mind, don't like to waste) and I was literally like wtf is this!? well it's spicy AF hahaha that's what I get! It was perfect for the portion. If the container was full and I would of dumped it all in my food like I usually do, I would die anyway, the food was great like always and love the fresh tortillas. Fish tacos were pretty flavorless. If I go back, I'd order carne asada or some other type. Also I wanted a 2 taco combo which came to about $13.73, but if I wanted it with rice and beans, it was another $6.23. Total was over $20.00 which seemed outrageous. My wife and I visited Aztek Tacos for the first time today. With a name like the one it has I was expecting authentic carne asada flavor when I ordered my Two Carne Asada Tacos Combo Plate. The meat that was used had little to no flavor "sazon." Also it was on the tough side/rubbery to chew as if it were sitting for some time or overcooked... maybe a little of both. The guacamole and the tortilla had more of the "Traditional Mexican" taco flavor that i was looking for. The beans and rice were the usual flavors... no surprises there. On the positive side my wife's Chile Relleno Burrito was tasty. And surprisingly made with the correct chile: Chile Pasilla. read more

Food is good which is why I give it three stars but their service at the cash register is a shit show. Nobody answers the phone when you try and call in an order and if they do it's 20 minutes later. When you get here and there are a few people in line but not enough to warrant not answering the phone. Meanwhile while I'm on hold trying to place an order on the phone I try and place an order online but that is down as well. When I get here they blame it on the fires that are currently going on east and north of here and not even close to their business. Ironically someone walked in right behind me and told me they had an online order to pick up so obviously the online ordering system is working. If they weren't so convenient, I wouldn't bother with them. read more

We love the food here at Aztec! We always order the chicken tacos, and the California burrito. It used to be packed and the go-to place for locals but over the past 5 years they have continued to raise prices to the point we rarely go. Used to love the food and the vibe.
