I have to say I had one of the best meals in Jacksonville here this weekend. We started in the bar for some pre dinner drinks, and enjoyed some great scenery outside. Moving on to dinner, the meal started with bread service which was a great assortment of different types of breads and spreads. Then I had the octopus appetizer, which i loved. Moving on to dinner i ordered the salmon which was a total flavor bomb and one of the best seafood dishes I have ever had. For dessert they brought us each two truffles, which were beautiful to look and and to taste! This was special meal and I will look forward to adding this restaurant to my special occasion dining rotation. read more

The Egg Benedict with Canadian bacon is decently nice ... However the Benedict has little heat and the sauce is slight above room temperature. It would be lot better. The pancake is much better and the cappuccino is very enjoyable. Consider this is an upscale restaurant at a prime boutique hotel in the Atlantic beach JAX therefore I would give it 3.5 stars instead of a 4 stars. The waitress is extremely professional and nice. The seating staff is very courtesy and the pronounce my last name very accurate... impressing ... :) Overall it is a nice brunch on Sunday. read more

The wifey and I ate here for our 26th anniversary and I couldn't be happier with that decision. We went on a Thursday so there was no crowd, our table (complete with a bouquet of roses) was waiting on us. From the hostess to our server Anita, the service provided was exquisite. My wife had a Hawaiian style sea bass and I had the filet mignmignon pon. Both were cooked and presented perfectly. At the end of the meal, Anita came out with complementary desserts. While this may not sound like much, she had paid attention to our conversation earlier, knew I was diabetic and brought me a bowl of fresh fruit whilst bringing my lovely bride a key lime pie. Each had a small chocolate candy banner with "happy anniversary" in gold letters. My wife loved the pie, I loved the fruit but the attention to detail by Anita really separated this dinning experience from others. read more

We stayed at One Ocean resort and decided to book dinner at our Hotel. After spending some time shopping multiple people told us we had to go to Azurea. So glad we did! They have an awesome tunnel entrance that looks like your walking through an ocean tunnel! We where immediately seated in a very romantic part of the restaurant. Wow! Impressive meal in Jacksonville Beach. Situated in One Ocean, a boutique hotel right on Atlantic Beach, it is an absolutely beautiful restaurant with ocean front location (although we were there after dark and couldn't enjoy the view) but the interior of the restaurant alone is beautiful from the "tunnel" entrance to the open, spacious dining room. They also have an outside deck where we saw people enjoying cocktails. Very eclectic menu with local offerings as well as specialty fishes from Hawaii. Great craft cocktails. We started with sweetbread appetizer which came with foie gras which was outrageous, crab cake which was excellent, a few different salads - Caesar and beet salad both very good. For dinner I shared a 16oz T-bone steak with a co diner which wound up being perfect - it came with a giant bone marrow bone which was good. Other diners had the fish of the day which was grouper prepared 3 ways, duck and a Hawaiian opah that was topped with a pineapple and spicy pepper relish. Everyone said the food was excellent. There is a pear martini that is served with a slice of pecorino Romano cheese - my co diners had it and said it was great. Sounds weird but they said it was slightly sweet and salty. At the end of the meal we were too full for dessert but they brought us a plate of Norman Love chocolates - which are amazing chocolate gems. Perfect way to end the meal. read more

Have been to this restaurant numerous times as it's just around the block. In the past we've typically had a good experience. However last night my wife and I went there and ordered salad, steak and fish. And about 4-5 hours later both of us were very sick throwing up. As a physician, this was classic food poisoning. I called the restaurant and spoke with the manager to make them aware of this food poisoning incident. He was somewhat indifferent, said they'll check on it. Asked if I was staying at the hotel (not sure why) and I told him I live a few blocks away. At which point he said thanks and good bye. Surprising after getting sick and spending $150 for dinner that he wouldn't have done more. Highly doubtful I'd ever return or recommend. Anyway, diner beware read more

Absolutely amazing! I took my husband here for his birthday and the restaurant and waiter went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. Our waiter Dwayne gave us a wine tasting for each dish we ordered with some great recommendations. The food was DELICIOUS! We had the crab cake appetizer (with the best collard greens I've ever tasted), ribeye with bone marrow and the sea bass. Everything was melt in your moth good! Then the waiter also brought an amazing dessert for my husband's birthday, so perfect. I can't thank them enough for making our night so special, and tasty! read more

Just had the best time at Azurea!! We decided to try Azurea for my friend's birthday. After being given an explanation for some entree listed, it was easy to order. Our waitress, Anita was excellent. My friend ordered a shrimps combination and I ordered Halibut. This meal was so delicious, we both were excited! Anita let us try bread with several different butters. It was awesome! Mediocrity at its best....or worst? While searching for places near the water we stumbled upon Azurea. Once we arrived, there was no one to greet us for nearly five mins. The hostess appeared then asked us if we'd been helped. We reply with "no, not at all" she then asked us if we were presenting for brunch. We said "yes" then were seated promptly. We decided on the fish tacos and the lobster roll. The fish tacos were overwhelmingly bland. I asked for extra cream sauce to help add flavor along with the mini Tabasco that was provided. My partner ordered the lobster roll and let's just say that the most memorable aspect of this dish was the foul aftertaste of the lobster. We overheard another patron tell their server that their food lacked flavor. Overall this was a very disappointing visit. We do not plan to return to this restaurant. read more

One of my favorite restaurants in Jacksonville! You don't get much better than Azurea for dining in Duval County. It is obvious that all of the ingredients are very fresh, well prepared and made in house at Azurea. Service and views of the Atlantic ocean are fantastic. Their menu changes seasonal, but there are some staple items that remain on the menu year around - like the seafood cob salad, which is awesome. The menu also includes great cheese and dessert selections. I would highly recommend dining her for any occasion. read more

I've just had the best meal of my life... Birthday celebration at Azurea was a great memory. We were served by Duane and Anita and their service was flawless. Duane is also the sommelier and his wine recommendations were perfect for the entrees we ordered. The fennel dusted sea bass was perfectly cooked and it was light and buttery. The chef seasoned the dish perfectly and it was served with Yukon gold whipped potatoes that were fantastic. This dish won a James Beard award... We also ordered the diver scallops that were HUGE and so tender. It was served over blue corn grits with a creamy blue cheese sauce - that was light and not overpowering. A perfectly balanced blend of flavors and textures. Duane suggested a light Chardonnay that did not overpower, but complimented well both dishes. We shared both dishes and the chef gladly split the dishes and presented the combinations beautifully for both of us. After the meal, they surprised me with a flour less chocolate cake and a glass of Cabernet to boot. Both the manager and the chef visited our table, and it was an experience I will always remember fondly. And through it all, Anita worked perfectly with Duane to clean the table between courses, keep our water glasses full, and make us feel like honored guests. Highly recommended. We ate here for New Years Eve and it was hands down the best meal I've ever had (considering I've eaten in cities like DC and NYC, this is huge to me). We had the 6 course prix fixe with the suggested wine flight and it was simply amazing. We started with a champagne shooter amuse bouche, followed the most amazing lobster bisque for the first course. The following courses were all equally delicious and unique, but the standouts for me were the seared ahi tuna with shiitake ginger risotto and goat cheese mousse with beet reduction, pesto, and arugula salad. Service and food were so good that our family has decided to make Christmas brunch a tradition here! From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. Valet was smiling and had a warm greeting. A gentleman held the door for us and made sure we knew how to get to the restaurant, we were greeted and seated immediately in the restaurant. The serving team knew how to serve properly, drinks were perfect, food was very attractive and they knew how to make perfect Eggs Benedict. The Director of Food and Beverage was even there to make sure the guest experience was wonderful. Very impressed that senior management would be there on Christmas. We took out of town friends their because it's on the ocean. Been there before a while back. The food is so over priced and not good! I had the red snapper with couscous. The most bland fish and side dish I've ever had. I also had the salad with balsamic vinaigrette, also bland. Our friends didn't commit because I don't think they liked their's either. The service is excellent, but that' s the only thing. I hate it when restaurants try to reach too far with their menus and the chef isn't good enough to really make good dishes. The place was almost empty on a Thursday night, and for this area of town, that should tell you something. I never understand dress codes simply because I am willing to spend my money at an establishment and you turn me away simply because I am not dressed to your standards. My boyfriend and I are on a ship that had to pull in unexpectedly for maintenance here in Mayport, FL after being underway for over a month. We're both active duty Navy. We tried explaining the situation that we don't have those clothes on board with us, but they told us that they couldn't help us. I'm local and wasn't staying at the hotel. Going to a hotel restaurant is usually not my thing, however I'm glad I did! The atmosphere is quiet, peaceful and romantic. We went to a late (8:30) dinner which made us one of the two tables in the restaurant. The chef came out to talk to us about some of the menu choices and give his opinion and listen to our personalized requests. Vegan menu items were clearly marked. Must have been an off night for the kitchen. They made 2 mistakes on our 4-person order. My wife ordered the Azurea Seafood Cobb Salad, but without bacon. It came with bacon. The salad itself was very good. My daughter ordered the Bronzed Pacific Seabass and it was excellent. My son-in-law and I both ordered a medium-rare ribeye. His came out medium rare, mine was medium-well. It took awhile to track down our server, but when we did I sent mine back. My steak did not make it back to the table until everyone else was finished with their dinners and the waitress had cleared their plates....which was a little odd since I still didn't have a dinner. When my steak finally came, it was outstanding. Was expecting the manager to come over to apologize or offer to take some money off the bill. Nope. We ate here twice during a recent hotel stay - once for breakfast and once for dinner. Breakfast was excellent! They had a wide variety of items, and all (pastries, pancakes, eggs, etc) were great. I normally expect to be gouged on breakfast prices at any hotel, but these were very reasonable, especially for what you got. The service was very good too. The coffee could be a bit stronger. Dinner was fine, but not great. The night we went the restaurant was not crowded, but the hostess decided to cram everyone, including a really loud, large group, into one side of the room. The place has a lot of hard surfaces, so it was loud anyhow (as is the adjacent bar). The dinner food was good. We had mostly fish, which ranged from ok to very good. One person had beef and said it was excellent. Service was actually better at breakfast. The views are nice - a little hard to see over the dune grass, but you cna hear the ocean. What a beautiful hip and trendy restaurant on the beach. I recently had dinner with some business associates at Azurea and I was not disappointed. With its cool blue hues and ocean front dining area, and light jazz music, the environment instantly relaxed you and invited you to enjoy an evening of fine food and conversation. Service was superb. When we order a bottle of wine, our waitier suggested a different wine that was even better and $5 cheaper. The Chef did an amazing job of matching the presentation of the food to the quality and taste. I did not care for the lamb meatball appetizer as it did not seem to sit well with me or my companions. However, our entrees were simply srumptions as the fish and salmon were fresh and delicious and not overcooked, Overall a fantastic experience and I cannot wait to go back. This was my birthday dinner and I loved it!!! They were very accommodating even after we chose to sit outside with the gorgeous beachside view but the birds and humidity were too much for me. So inside we went and Anita our server was the best. She explained the specials. I chose the sea bass because it's my favorite fish so whenever it's offered it's my choice. Every one else chose the special, snapper. The special is served three ways on one plate. I tried the fried way of my sister's and it was phenomenal. They loved theirs and I loved mine!! I had the Il Pero martini (Pear) as my drink of choice. It was delicious!!! I also had the duck spring rolls for my starter, which I ate all by myself!!! I did offer!!! But happy they turned me down!!! I had a special birthday treat. I think it was cheesecake with a lemon meringue top. I loved it. And they use these chocolate truffle beads dipped in gold for a garnish. Amazing and tasty. This is a very stylish spot. Wonderful view of the ocean, nice ambiance, and spectacular service. Only downside thing is the booths only accommodate two and we were a group of four. They are spectacular. We had to settle for a table. Yes, I was hating on the couples in the booths. This is a solid restaurant for a date or anniversary dinner. The atmosphere is cool and inviting, and the food is delicious. I was in a group of four people and got to taste everyone's dish. You really should go with the seafood. I had the bison and it was covered in sauce - you could barely taste the meat. It wasn't bad, but wasn't worth the price either. It's also more dressy than other restaurants nearby, definitely not a place you can walk into straight from the beach.
