Great value and good food! We ordered the beef noodle soup, corn and chicken dumplings, signature potstickers, spicy wontons, corn chowder and pork chop plates with fried noodles and fried rice. All dishes were $7-$19 and were delicious and big portions but I don't recommend the corn chowder as it tasted a bit watered down and lacked corn flavor. Otherwise the dumplings were yummy and juicy, their potstickers were perfectly fried and the beef noodle soup was so good! Delicious potstickers and beef noodle soup. The line was long on a weekday afternoon but the line did move fairly fast. I ordered two combinations and a beef noodle soup. One order was take away and the other two for dine in. Only after I paid and waited for my order to be ready did I notice that one order wasn't placed so when I went up to gather my order I mentioned that one order wasn't placed by the employee while ordering and the person who was putting orders together was nice enough to say that she could help me with the missing order. I thought that was such great customer service. Over all I really enjoyed the potstickers and the beef noodle soup. The wonton soup though the soup was good the wontons were just ok. Good choice if you maybe want something light and soothing. The hot and sour soup was ok it was decent but nothing to write home about. Good if you're craving it in a pinch. The beef noodle soup was really good, probably my favorite with the chunks of meat and daikon and tasty broth. The noodles were a great consistency too. The potstickers could have been crisper but maybe we came during the lunch rush and so it could have maybe been that they were rushing it. The seating was ok we were able to grab a table but it does get rather crowded at lunch and parking can be challenging too at lunch time. When I placed a takeout order here I thought how did I not know this was in Santa Clara? It reminds me a lot of Din Tai Fung, but mostly just dumplings. The price is good for the amount of food served. The atmosphere is open and modern, and bright inside. The service is fast, you order at the counter and find a table in your own. Its conveniently located walking distance to Whole foods, boba place, and Starbucks, etc. I'd recommend this place if your craving dumplings. The dough is thin and delicious. I tried the regular dumplings and vegetable dumplings, and they were yummy. The hot and sour is good, it has a slight sweetness. It is a very popular restaurant because the food is yummy. We are not from this area, so we were trying to find a good place to eat, so we decided to go here because we saw some good reviews that were recent. Was not impressed, the food had no flavor, the dumplings were a bit cold, like they were just taken out of the freezer and microwaved, so we added them to my wonton soup to add some heat, and the pot stickers were a bit cold as well. The noodles were really stuck together that we had to add some of the wonton soup liquid so it would separate. We do not plan to come here again. read more

The staff need better training, as it felt like they didn't really care about customer service. First, one of the employees misheard my name and said I hadn't paid. I understand mistakes happen, but I would have appreciated a simple apology. Then I noticed some prepared sauce and asked if I could have some. Another employee kept repeating that they already provide sauce on the side. I was just asking a question, so the response felt a bit dismissive. When I asked a different staff member, he explained it was only for DoorDash orders, which is totally fine--but the communication could have been more polite. Overall, the staff were not very friendly and didn't communicate well. It's disappointing because I've always liked the food here, but this experience makes me not want to come back. read more

Bafang Dumpling is the latest addition to the Santa Clara Square eateries! I have been away for awhile, so I assumed it's been open for some time. But, to my surprise, I was told right now is the soft opening with the official grand opening in a few days. I had to take several minutes to look over their menu and decide since I'm not familiar with Taiwanese dishes. Finally, I chose the combination #4: Bafang noodles and signature dumpling (pork and kim chee). Both dishes were absolutely delicious and served hot! There are optional sauces to retrieve from the front (near the drink dispensers). I pumped some garlic and soy sauce for my order. The layout is well designed: very spacious, bright, and accommodating for many customers. Also worth mentioning is they also offer a lunch box special section that is only open during lunch hours. This place is already looking like a favorite for diners here. I plan to return soon to try more of their tempting dishes. read more

I love the concept of fresh potstickers and the simplicity of how they wrap them. My favorite was the signature with pork and cabbage. However the kimchi potstickers shocked me and I almost liked them better than the signature. The crispy chicken with chili sauce was so good! Reminded me of the popcorn chicken you get at boba shops but definite better and for a meal. I also really enjoyed their won ton soup and this hot and sour soup. Everything I've tasted was so good I find myself coming here more often for one of these things when I need something to eat. read more

We went there on Saturday afternoon. Traffic wasn't bad and the parking lot is full so expect to drive around and wait for the parking space. This place is just like other locations we been to in LA. You order your food at the register and they will give you a buzzer when the food is ready to be pick up. Seats are first come first serve, and you can get utensils and condiments from the counter. Food came out fast and fresh like I expected. We ordered signature potstickers, kimchi potstickers, vegetables dumplings, mala dry beef noodle and fried pork chop. We like everything except vegetables dumplings. Vegetable dumplings is just meh. We like the price is affordable, food is fresh and ready fast. Finding seats is kind challenging since they are so full and people watching you when you are almost done with meal which create some unpleasant pressure and stress. I am hoping they will open more locations in north Bay Area like pleasant hill or concord so we don't have to drive more than an hour to eat and also parking would be so much easier. read more

Walking into a high ceiling restaurant is very nice!! You order at the counter and then find a table. My friends who were with me said it reminded them of what it was like in Taiwan especially the part where we had to hover around tables to see what would open up. When ordering a noodle dish, it's just noodle unless it says a protein in the name. Honestly pretty good noodles, love the texture! I liked the bafang signature noodles just fine but my partner said it was not as flavorful like it was light versus full of depth which I agree but I'm the type to under season so it didn't bother me. His spicy noodles were pretty spicy for me so I didn't eat too much. He really liked the pork chop which I also thought was pretty tasty. I really wanted to like this place since it seems so popular. I like the concept and appreciate the casual dumpling/ beef noodle soup idea. Bafang is a self service restaurant, you order at the counter and then find a place to sit. Your buzzer will go off when your food is ready. There is a small condiment section near the registers as well. I tried the signature potstickers, bafang signature noodles, bafang signature dumplings and the taiwanese beef noodle soup with mala. Both the signature dumplings and noodles were on the bland side. I would go back for the pot stickers. The taiwanese beef noodle soup was decent but not amazing. It does the job if you have a craving and are in a time crunch. The plaza it's in has the worst parking ever, it's always so crowded! As a customer, what I dislike the most is when employees clearly see you standing there for a long time but avoid making eye contact or asking if you need assistance. I am a regular customer of this restaurant because the food is very good. Today, I ordered three meals and arrived about 20 minutes later, which is normally when my order is ready for pickup. When I arrived, there were two employees at the front, a female cashier and a male employee preparing orders. While I was standing in the pickup area waiting for my food, the male employee consistently avoided eye contact and never once asked if I needed help. He seemed more focused on looking toward the kitchen rather than acknowledging customers waiting at the pickup counter. During the 20 minutes I waited, I saw several orders placed after mine already completed and ready for pickup, but no one updated me about my order. When I finally got my food, I checked the order and discovered that a soup was missing. I immediately informed the cashier, she quickly brought the missing soup to me. However, between the long wait, being ignored while standing in the pickup area, and then receiving an incomplete order, the overall experience was very disappointing. I hope the restaurant can improve staff training and customer service to prevent situations like this in the future. read more

Dumplings/potstickers are my comfort food so I was so happy to hear bafang opening in Santa Clara! I love how much cabbage they put in the potstickers making them crunchy. I appreciate the online ordering so I don't need to wait in line and can just run down too pick it up. I wish they had more sauce stations or prefilled sauces because the sauce station tends to get crowded. The beef dry noodle was really good and flavorful. I like the signature, kimchi and corn dumplings. I was excited for the corn soup but found it a bit thicker than I like. Overall lots of options and solid food! I was anticipating the opening of this restaurant and was so excited when I saw that they had recently had their soft opening. I opted for delivery so I can't speak to the service of the staff or the ambiance but the food was very delicious. I ordered the beef noodle soup and the spicy wontons. Both were incredibly flavorful, not super salty. The spicy wontons were spicier than Din Tai Fung's so if you don't have a high spice tolerance, you should avoid them. I can't l wait to eat Bafang again. Hopefully next time I'll be able to eat the dishes at the location rather than opting for delivery. read more

We stopped by during soft opening to have their dumplings and beef noodle soup. We've had this place multiple times in Taiwan as well as San Diego so we knew what to expect. Super duper long lines to get in and order food and it is very clear they still have some work to do to streamline things for their formal opening. There's an express lane for ready made food if you want quicker service but the Beef Noodle soup and the dumplings are definitely worth the wait. Beef noodle soup has juicy chunks of beef that's braised to perfection without being too soft or falling apart, the soup base is a little spicy without being over powering. The dumplings were great though very similar to the Bafang frozen dumplings you can get at the grocery (it's the same hahaha). Large dining area cafeteria style after you get your food. Should be plenty of seating once the popularity/newness dies down but expect massive crowds for now since I expect that this place will be popular for awhile. read more

This Dumping Shop looks slightly impressive, and very spacious up in here. I'm here for one thing, and one thing only. I wanted the Tawainese Beef Noodle Soup 紅燒牛肉麵. Perfect, on a Cold rainy day like Tonight's. This was really good Noodles, the Noodles was cooked almost perfect, it was Al dente, chewy but not too chewy. The Soup was deep, flavorful, warm, and comforting. The Beef was Braised all the way through, meltingly good. And my favorite part, the best part, the Pickled radish or củ cải mặn hit, it was on point. It feels traditional, and authentic. Reminds, me of something I get Overseas.
