I stopped by for lunch and didn't have enough time to take a picture of the food before I scarfed it down. I think the place is small and cheap which was great for a quick bite. This is clearly not a place to sit and eat but they also don't claim to be that kind of restaurant anyways. They do cash only, but the good thing is that there's an ATM in the corner, so whoever wrote reviews about not being able to use a credit card obviously can't use their eyes. Bagels tasted delicious, and I got the everything bagel. Coffee options were a bit limited, but all I drink it for is caffeine anyways so I was content. She made the sandwich right in front of me on a small little griddle and it was great. Very professional staff. read more

Would not recommend this place. We went on a Saturday morning at 9 a.m, all of the bagels looked and tasted like they were 2 weeks old. They were so dry that when we finished eating not only our jaw was sore but the roof of our mouth was cut. Besides that, when we were going to pay the lady told us they do not accept card, only cash. No signs at the entrance, only a small handwritten note by the muffins. The ATM was in the corner of the place and we had to pay a 3 dollar fee for 2 old bagels that were 12 dollars. My advice, there is a Dunkin 100 feet away, you will probably get fresher food there. PS: the place looks like a office building that was improvised as a Bagel place. read more

Good bang for your buck, bagels are maybe the best in the area. It is a small, not very modern establishment, and you may be greeted with your classic New England hospitality which to some is rather cold. But breakfast is solid. I usually enjoy their breakfast sandwich (I often double egg it) on whatever bagel is most fresh. Haven't had a bad bagel yet. Would not sit and eat but would definitely pick up. If you care about taste then this is your place. If you want great ambience and/or service then maybe not so much (probably dependent on the day). read more

It's nothing fancy but everything I've tried is delicious! Normally I can't decide between the cinnamon sugar bagel (on par with the cinnamon crunch bagel from Panera) or a bacon, egg, and cheese on a bacon and egg bagel so sometimes I get both! I ordered the turkey on a jalapeno bagel. The sandwich was delicious! The service was phenomenal...she was very friendly, had a sense of humor, and did a fine job in recommending what condiments goes well with the sandwich. The rating would have been higher, but they were out of lox, which was the #13.....the whole reason I stopped by. Bagel Boys actually has two locations around Newport. This is their secondary location, I believe they get their bagels delivered from the main shop on Aquidneck Ave in Middletown (only about 5 minutes drive). If you are looking for bagels on a Sunday morning, go straight to the Middletown location as this one is closed. The bagels here are just ok, I find them way too dense. It seems like they are just baked and not all all boiled, though I can't be sure of that. Lots to choose from, but since they bring them from the other location many flavors do run out quickly. They offer breakfast and lunch sandwiches, coffee drinks, and some pastries as well. This shop only has a little electric griddle they cook eggs, bacon, and other items on. Cash only (both locations!) seems a little silly to me. Most people now a days don't always walk around with cash.. and I certainly don't like having to take out $20 from their ATM just to get a cheap bagel. Sadly, in my opinion the best bagels in town are at Panera Bread at Long Wharf. read more

I've lived all over the United States and have eaten in every major metropolitan area--NO ONE has bagels that even compare to the bagels from Bagel Boys. The bagel sizes are enormous, the consistency and dough-type are fantastic, and they are very generous with the toppings (for example, my favorite is poppy seed and their poppy seed bagel has so many seeds that it's almost entirely black!). Any trip to Newport needs to be complimented by two things: a walk on the Cliff Walk and a bagel from Bagel Boys! read more

If you want the worst service? This place is for you. I walked in and said hello to the woman. She was sitting at a table and got up and looked at me as a annoyance. No response to my my good morning. I ordered a bagel to go and she said $4.25. I went to pay and then saw a small hand written sign " no debit,cc". I immediately said all I have is a debit card. Small little bagel shop in a strip mall. It is really not the most modern establishment but they have a large assortment of bagels and can turn them into sandwiches. Coffee wasn't bad, the salmon and kapers on my bagel were pretty tasty. I probably be back, its better than Dunkin Donuts bagels which is what is all over the place. Worth checking out if you just want a bagel and a cup of coffee. read more

I've frequent both the Middletown and Newport locations, depending on my schedule, etc. I would not buy bagels from anyplace else on or off the island. These bagels are made FRESH DAILY! Sooo good! Such interesting flavors - perfect bagels! Also ... the cream cheese -YUM! Aside from delicious bagels for breakfast, the lunch menu is also phenomenal. ANd for those who enjoy an interesting setting, there is local art displayed throughout. FUN. Customer Service-wise, I am not sure what other reviewer's expectations are... While both locations offers seating, this is cash and carry, not full service. The folks who work at the counter are also working in the back and making your food, etc. I try to be understanding of the fact that they are all responsible for the shop and I don't expect chit chat. They do seem to be laser focused on what they do best. In terms of counter help being on the phone, etc. I have noticed this as well but the few times this has happened during my transactions, they were either taking a call-in order for delivery (THEY DELIVER!) or communicating with the other location or shop owner. This place has great bagels and if you want a side of attitude with your bagel, this is the perfect place. The girls who always works there is sooo bitter. I am not sure if it is the early hours or the customized requests that throw her for a loop. The willow tree chicken salad sandwich is a must! They have great specials. Poor service to start, the girl at the counter was very rude. The bagel I ordered was cut so wrong that it caught fire in the toaster and instead using a new bagel the girl just cover the blacken odd shape bagel in the wrong order cream cheese. I've never been to Bagel Boys, but Clements Market recently switched from Bristol Bagels to Bagel Boys. They're freaking terrible and borderline inedible. I'm probably going to throw them out and go to Bristol Bagels to get a new supply. read more
