My wife and I have eaten at Bagel Host Too in Sunrise many times. The food and the service is always fantastic. They have all the varieties of bagels and a few types of bagel sticks. Both are the best around. We usually eat breakfast but occasionally have lunch. If you are a matzah ball soup person, don't pass it up. You won't find any better anywhere. Overall I would say there are better deli's around. The hostess/cashier was very friendly (but she's leaving for another job in a few weeks). We came on a Saturday morning, it was moderately busy. Tables were greasy. Our waitress seemed disinterested and rushed. I will say out food came out lightening fast. My Rachel was not bad, just needed some extra thousand island. The fries were undercooked. My husbands omelette and hash were the same way. The hash was undercooked. Additionally, one of the waitresses poured coffee on half of my sandwich, and didn't offer to replace it? Food was moderate but okay for the price. I wouldn't resist coming back but would definitely recommend other places first. read more

I have seen this Diner over the years and always had it in mind to eventually stop in. I heard a recommendation on the quality of the bagels and decided to give it a try. I went in and was surprised to notice how spacious it was and that it had a walk up counter. I was told I could seat myself and was greeted right away. I found the dinning room to be very clean with nice decorations throughout. It had a nice crowd-many who are likely regulars. I ordered eggs bacon and a bagel.  The food was good. Thin crispy bacon, eggs cooked just as ordered. The bagel was toasted with plenty of cream cheese, butter and some jam all on the side. The complimentary coffee was nice and hot and readily topped off.  All okay- nothing particular in the quality of my simple choices.  I am curious about the other menu items such as pancakes, challah French toast and would have considered coming back. However,the checkout experience gave me pause.  I was handed the bill and told to pay at the front. There was a short line of other patrons placing to go orders and picking up.  This is disappointing as I now had to wait in a checkout line at a sit down restaurant and wait for others to figure out the menu ask questions and the like while I waited. There should be a separate line or area for sitdown diners to pay and not make a line, or even better-be able to pay table side. I caught the attention of one of the people behind the counter and was helped at a different register, but I don't think this is the norm. The other day my boss had sent me a text saying, "can you please pick up bagels for the office"? Since I'll do pretty much anything to help me get a raise I said I would. Tired of the easy go-to's like Einsteins and Dunkin', I wanted something else. I turned to Yelp and now found my new bagel spot. It's a cute little spot in (surprise, surprise) a strip mall. It's tucked away in the back by Winn Dixie. The inside was pretty dead but it was also a week day. I got up to the counter and was greeted. She helped me pick out my bagels and and showed me where the cream cheese was. Overall it was a pretty quick visit. I paid $15 for a dozen bagels and two tubs of cream cheese. The bagels were delicious. Fresh and made on site. Everyone at work raved about them (bonus points for me). The veggie cream cheese was delicious. Super soft and full of veggies. I loved it. Probably my favorite veggie cream cheese I've tried. Looking around the spot I did notice some of the breakfast food. I can't wait to come back here and eat. If the bagels are an indication of the food then I'm pretty sure I won't be let down. read more

And that one star is extremely generous. My girlfriend and I were excited to try a new breakfast place. We were quickly disappointed. We walked in at 11:45am on 10/6. There were about 7 tables with 2-4 people and one with 8. We sat down and waited. We were looked at several times but no one came over to us. We're waiting for menus and silverware. Finally a few servers said they'll be with us. Then after a few minutes someone, not a server asked if we wanted a drink. We asked for water. We hadn't received menus yet, so we weren't sure how much longer we were going to sit and wait. We got our waters and continued to wait. No menus yet. About five minutes later one person walked in and sat a table away from us. They promptly greeted him with smiles and hellos. Still, no menus yet. A server came up to him and was ready to take his order. She didn't have anything to write on, so she walked away. I said to my girlfriend, if she comes back and takes his order, we're out of here. Normally the whitefish is amazing. My hubby went to get me a treat, I opened it and tasted it low and behold it's chicken salad. I called to notify them and they said, "We don't have whitefish right now" I replied, "Then how come it says whitefish salad on the label" She replied, "Label mixup, You want a credit?" The time and gas it would take to get the credit isn't worth it to us. Next time, we'll just go somewhere that knows what they're selling. I don't really like having to leaving a negative review especially during this particular time as I believe in supporting local businesses more now than ever before, but this has to be said. I called in my order 20 mins prior to my arrival. I only ordered 2 bagels sandwiches and was told that it would be ready in 10 mins. I get there and no at the counter. All of staff was all in the far back talking and 1 person was cleaning the floors. The person in the back said that they would be right with me as I told them I was there for a pickup. 10 mins later still no one I asked a couple more times and still no one, I can understand if the place was busy but there was maybe 2 customers and this place is huge! There was plenty of servers and staff to help but obviously it no seemed to cared so I left! I'm all about customer service and making sure everyone's happy but this was really heartbreaking because these are the actions that kill businesses and when staff doesn't care or have any sense of urgency in helping their customers. We placed a delivery order, and half of it was missing. What we did get was ok, but they omitted cheese from a western omelet when we had ordered extra cheese and paid for it. I emailed the restaurant about the mistakes and never received a reply. I cannot tell you the last time I saw prices on a breakfast menu that started out at $2.99 for like a legit meal, not a side item. I was floored when I was looking at the prices and 90% of them are under $5...it's a wonder a place can stay in business with prices like this OR that the line isn't out the door in the am. If I could give this establishment a zero I would. I walked in for the first time yesterday and ordered a simple bagel and cream cheese. Well let's say after I placed my order, I patiently waited for about 15 min before one of the workers asked the cashier if I was being helped. Eventually someone toasted my bagel BUT they applied chicken salad on my bagel!! One of the worker then reminded the other employee I wanted cream cheese. I have never experienced a more unprofessional and disrespectful employee. The young man at the front was very degrading and rude. I said I wanted his name to speak with a manager he refused to give it to me. He couldn't read or add. He called mE names and had the worst attitude I have EVER seen. I am glad to have this place recommended to me. All of the Jewish delis in my area closed, and I have been searching for an authentic place to get my nova on a bagel. Sorry to put a bad review but this was ridiculous, I called to question the prices I was charged on three bagels to go with cream cheese one was A bagel toasted with nova spread the second was an onion toasted with veggie spread and the third was a pumpernickel not toasted with walnut cream cheese spread and a small orange juice container to go 20 bucks I called to ask if the prices went up the young lady was very polite and said let me explain to you the bagel toasted is $1.59 . Run, don't walk to bagel host! I grew up in this area and every time I come back to visit my family I make a stop here. They've moved to a new location that is much larger and updated than the last. WTH.... this place went downhill fast!!! It was far better when it was located in the little shop across the lot but since moving it changed and not for the better. Food was good, service was great by our purpled hair server "BUT".... the process of checking out was absolutely horrible !!! 23 mins standing in line to pay your bill is unacceptable ! Cashier unable to multitask and easily frustrated. Then unable to provide a receipt but when you still ask for a receipt, since the old man tried to charge the couple three in front of us for a additional bagel that was part of the meal then all hell broke loose. I ask miss non-multitasker, female who took over the register, for a receipt she got a big time attitude and wrote a half ass receipt by hand after being repeatedly ask. Great place to have breakfast. I ordered the Vegetable Omelette with everything bagel and it was amazing.

This is a good neighborhood place to grab a quick breakfast. It recently moved to a big storefront in the same plaza. This is an upgrade. It is roomier and feels newer and cleaner. We've only ever had breakfast, although they also have pasta dishes. On our last visit I read the owner's family history and learned they have a history in Italian food. Seems random. It I will try some next time we visit. The staff is always friendly and attententive and the bagels are tasty. Love their bialys. read more
