YES!!! I am so glad Baja Fresh is even better than I remember it. Every time I make my way out west, I look for Baja Fresh, and I try to eat there. Problem is, sometime I am not in a position to call the shots where I'm eating if it's with a group, but last week, the stars aligned and I was able to eat here twice in one week while visiting LA! It had been an 8 year absence since my last BF run- such a bummer BF closed their Dallas location a gazillion years ago...anywho, I digress. I'm here to share the awesomeness that is Baja Fresh. Alrighty, first thing- I give the food 5-stars. It's great! The only thing holding this location back has nothing to do with the food; it's the dry drain smell that hits you when you walk in. The food is fresh and perfectly flavored. I got a Mexicano Burrito and had it served enchilado style. It's an extra $3.75, but it's so worth it! Add some grilled veggies to take it to next level for sure. The breadth of salsas on their salsa bar adds to the experience. If you are getting an order to go, there are plenty of sauce containers to pack some of those salsas away. With different heat levels and flavor profiles, you can really enhance your dish. The team here is really nice too, and they very neatly and carefully packed my to-go order both times. My review of my last visit at à Baja Fresh was less than kind to put it mildly. I didn't exactly enjoy whatever burrito they happened to whip up that day.... So I'm giving a yelp redemption. And the Baja chicken bowl with the diverse array of salsas and free chips is actually a pretty good deal for the less than $15 I paid in 2026. Okay so the bowl is loaded with toppings, and if you're looking to customize and make it a it less dry on your gullet, just pour some salsa on me as def leopard said ever so eloquently. The bowl by itself is better than chipotle for the price, and the added chips and salsas put it over the top. Many Baja Fresh location have closed and this one is still kicking and screaming. Happy to see that they are doing well even with COVID killing and closing so many restaurants. They have several tables outside that are helping feed the hungry customers like myself. Absolutely no need to take the food to go. With confidence I'm ready to declare this one is my favorite Baja Fresh out of them all. Even when I lived in Culver City near by and came here every other week they never had a reason for me to say otherwise. Always fast and what's more important, accurate and tasty. Even 15 years later, the food still taste as good and fresh as it did back then. A lot of restaurants start declining. Baja fresh is the same good food healthy just not low on the budget. I just had lunch at the 10768 Venice store. I work near by so I frequent this location. I have found all the employees to be very nice. Today Eric greeted & waited on me as he has many times. He always has a smile & so very polite. The last 2 times I have been in the restaurant wasn't extremely busy so he also brought my food to my table. The place is always spotless. Very clean. Even the salsa bar which I would think is hard to keep up on. It's so nice to leave lunch with a very good experience. I used to really like this place, best shrimp burrito and tacos for the money. I preferred Ultimo style burritos and occasionally would have a chicken or vegetarian version. Fresh salsas, good chips and fairly priced. I always was very happy with my order. Yet the last few times it hasn't been all that great. I ordered shrimp tacos to go each time. Fewer and smaller shrimp, missing avocado slices and overall not what it used to be. I would still eat at Baja Fresh as I'm a sucker for California Tex Mex but I'm not nearly as likely to recommend it. There is a Taco Truck close to where I live that has better and less expensive shrimp tacos, I recommend you look into the taco truck option as well. It's always a shame when a place you used to love becomes mediocre, its like a relationship where the other person gets lazy and lets themselves go because they get too comfortable. Stopped in for lunch. Place was clean, brightly lit, and I was greeted when I walked in. I placed my order and took a seat. While waiting as my food was prepared, I noticed the cashier was hustling. Yes, prices have increased over the last year or two, but they have Everywhere and franchise locations cannot set what they charge, so not their fault. On this last order tonight two items were incorrect and one item was completely missing. I've ordered from this location many times in the past and everything was perfect. Upon calling to notify them the order was incorrect the person who answered the phone said they could not help me because she's the cashier and the manager would call me if I gave her my phone number,which I did (yeah,I'm sure that's going to happen) I don't blame the delivery service because it isn't their job to fill the order. I love the ultimo burrito but this location can't seem to make it. They put one of each ingredient in one place instead of spreading out the ingredients. First and second bite: all peppers; second and third: beans and a little sour cream; third fourth and fifth bite: all rice. Last two bites: chicken or beef (and always ice cold). I really like a burrito that has all the ingredients together. I don't want three bites of rice. Then I would order a side of rice. It's as if they have no clue how to make a burrito. Is it rocket science? Really, seems so easy and logical. Just look at the menu photo and make it like that! Well, last night I really wanted that ultimo burrito but I knew no one would know how to make it, so I ordered a black bean and cheese burrito and hoped for the best. It was ready in two minutes - literally. I should have known that was a problem but I was tired and hungry, so I took the burrito and went to the car. What did I find when I opened it one minute from the cashier handing it to me? A cold burrito. Cold beans, cheese that was not at all melted and still refrigerated and a cold tortilla. All the cheese was on one side and there was no cheese in three-quarters of the burrito. I'm done. If you can't make the simplest of burritos, there is no hope for you. RIP Baja Fresh, you cannot possibly afford the rent there with no customers and yet you don't want to try to do something to save your franchise - like train employees to actually cook. You had a great concept - it was great for years. Now, inedible. Maybe they never eat their own food...maybe they go to Panda Express like the rest of Culver City seems to do. Now that Wendy's has sold Baja Fresh, maybe things will get better again. Because what was once an awesome chain restaurant took a real slide in their hands. Optimistic outlook aside, I like this particular location more than most other Baja Fresh sites. Parking is easy, the crowds aren't too bad, and there's a lot of outdoor seating. Indoors, too, seating capacity is deceptively large. The food is... well, as I mentioned, I think it's gone downhill quite a bit, and this is the same at any of their outlets. But it's still a far cry from Taco Bell. My favorite: the Ultimo with chicken. My friend swears by the fajita chicken burrito which doesn't appear on their overhead menu but is in their system. And did they lower prices? I could've sworn the Ultimo was in the $6-7 range but today it was under $6. read more
