My Gen chicken I asked to be spicy, I understand you can only work with the ingredients you have, that's fine.. but please don't just throw peppers in the container thinking the chicken or sauce is going to magically absorb the spice. The chicken in my dish was a little on the overcooked side as well. Ordered a side of crab wonton's and they were a good size and fine, your basic fare. (Portion Size) - compared to most take-out spots, this is definitely on the smaller scale side, might be compared to something like a panda express or a little smaller than that... maybe it was the timing of the order? 3:30pm? might be lunch portion size? I don't know... but this has been the smallest portion size I have came across in Austin. (for generic Americanized Chinese) I do not believe I would order again from this spot, I am sure they will do well in this location, but I rather venture out somewhere else, but wish them luck! Very unhappy with the quality and portion I received today. For a $10 plate, I would hope to receive a decent portion. Or at the very least fill the container. I've never received such a low portion of rice in my life. I have been here in the past, and received a bigger portion, not too long ago. I did eat one piece of broccoli and a piece of chicken before taking the picture, but even adding that, this is awful. Also, the food tasted like it was just sitting around. The food used to be super fresh and the chicken and broccoli was cooked better. Also, they ignored my requests for napkins just to top it off. My friends do not live too far away from this place and were looking for somewhere that delivered so we gave it a try. I ordered the chicken Thai friend rice with spicy soup and crab ragoons. The fried rice was a disappointment. It tasted like it had freezer burn or something. My soup seemed off, like one kind of sour flavor took over and it was not supposed to be a sour soup. The crab ragoons were not crispy and didn't seem too fresh. My friend got the pad Thai and she said is wasn't the best and her pot stickers she ordered are still in the fridge from days ago if that says anything. I should have tried the Singapore like I wanted to. After reading reviews that looks like the only thing that ever gets a good rating. we have a deal with our company i work with and it subsides our lunch in up to a certain amount and we pay what exeeeds it. today i placed an order (stir fry rice and beef) and i just got the beef. i called the restaurant and some chris came to the phone to tell me he was sorry. i asked for a compensation and he told me that i should not complain because my company was paying for it. he told me my food was for free. what a rude inappropriate employee. not only put his nose on my deal with my company but also ofeended me and misrepresented the restaurant he works for. i don't have any problem with the restaurant exccept with the employee. hope they take car of the guy because im escalating this with my company, the catering service, and bamboo itself. read more

Great "fast food" pan Asian cuisine. If you go in expecting your typical fast food Chinese experience you will be pleasantly surprised. This is nothing like the Chinese food at the mall with over cooked chicken warming under a heat lamp. The food here was fresh, made to order, and extremely tasty. I've had the sesame chicken, the orange peel shrimp & the Mongolian beef. All of these have been super. I also recommend the dumplings and the samosas. This is my favorite drive through and/or delivery restaurant. They are so fast and fresh. I usually order online and pick it up, but it's just as easy to order at the drive through. Recently, I decided to dine in. I will say that found the inside very clean and inviting. The staff are always nice and the food is always good. I usually turn various dishes into vegertarian fare by adding mixed vegetables as the protein. They can also make many of the dishes vegan upon request. My favorite thing to order is the Tom Yam soup with mixed veggies and extra broccoli. The portion size is large and the soup is delish. I totally recommend for when you don't feel like cooking or are craving your favorite spicy noodle dish. read more

Today I ordered over 30$ worth of food and when I got all the way back home I noticed a big long black hair inside my food and I didn't even open it yet. So he only refunded me the one with the hair in it! he said I can drive back home and get the rest and drive back to get the rest of the refund. UNBELIEVABLE!!!! I will never go back there again. Edit 2: there has been a consistent decrease in the quality of the food in the last few months. I actually had to send a dish back today: seriously overcooked, leathery fried shrimp. They delivered a replacement meal, but even the Tom Kah is not what it used to be. Bamboo Bistro, please go back to what you were doing a year ago! Edit: had to drop from 5 to 3 stars. As much as I love this place I am terribly dissapointed of late. The portions in our last 3 orders have been reduced by about half. Meals like Sesame Shrimp and Mongolian Beef used to come served separately from the rice, meaning large portions good for sharing, now those same trays come half-full of rice, cutting the portions in half for the same price. (Seen in the pic of Honey Shrimp). This place is fantastic! Good food, fast delivery, consistent quality. The Pad Thai is a favorite, Honey Chicken is also delicious, my new favorite is the Jalepeno Pepper Shrimp! The Crab Rangoon is plump and Thom Yam soup is hearty and filling. Also, the portions are huge! One dish and an appetizer could easily feed two people, we always have leftovers, which is awesome! read more

This place is so great. I ordered delivery through yelp and my order came a few minutes earlier than expected which was great. I ordered the basil Thai fried rice, chicken egg rolls, and crab Rangoon. The fried rice was perfect and had to perfect amount of pepper and was just a little spicy but I love spicy so it was perfect for me. Freshly made but bland but good Asian food, from curries to pad thai to the lovely, generic brown garlic sauce. There was lots of fresh basil in the tom kha soup, but it was dominated by mushrooms. Ultimately a lack of lime juice and chilies made this soup fall on the tame side, when I wanted hot and spicy. I'd say wholesome. The add-on egg roll for 99 cents was a deep-fried delight. Like Taco C or Ghengis Bowl one can build their own dinner with brown or fried rice or udon, or teeny rice vermacelli. Chicken-wing fans can try out five sauces, including a spicy basil sauce, with big leaves coating the little drumettes. I wish they had bahn mi here. The drive through is pointless, since you spend 20 minutes waiting in your car for the food to be prepared. My 3 and 5 year old nephews love this place. It's about their speed. Ordered samosas - nice hot crisp little bites of yum. Crispy tofu - lovely crunch with a silken interior and a dollop of peanut sauce. Lettuce wraps - plenty for an entree, and Thai basil chicken, which was a generous portion and quite spicy. All this was $20 including tax, and after the two of dined we had enough left for someone's lunch tomorrow. Is this the next Uchi? Ordered Pad Thai with tofu three times and everytime it has been flavorless. Asked the second time for extra sauce and didn't get it. This was the third attempt of giving them a chance and they didn't add extra sauce or include it. Called this time to let them know because I've paid for 3 meals that I didn't like and the manager acknowledged that with to-go orders that happens because the noodles soak up the sauce. All he kept saying was "next time order and pay for extra sauce on the side." Why wouldn't they always include extra sauce on the side if they know this is an issue and why would I pay for extra sauce since it's to make up for the fact that it has no peanut taste whatsoever and is just bland and tasteless. He didn't offer any resolution until I finally said "I guess there won't be a next time" and his solution at that point was that I could drive back out in the rain for extra sauce. Didn't offer any credit or to prepare another meal or any incentive to return there again. The response was short and basically, sorry you are out of luck. I paid for another meal that will go in the trash. If I wanted plain noodles, I would boil water and make my own. I'm also very understanding and forgiving and I don't give businesses poor reviews except when they have horrible customer service and are dismissive. Love the flavor is just addicting that I really kinda wish I ordered another to have the next day (Cuz it got finished). General Tso's is typical american chinese fare and it didn't disappoint as a comfort food. Their hot and sour soup was great as well. But their spring rolls could use some help. They were big but they fall apart as soon as you start eating them. Didn't stop us from killing them though. Good stuff. Great delivery. Quick easy decision. Reasonably priced. read more

My husband and I decided to eat at this Bamboo Bistro after many months, out of convenience. The service was friendly and the restaurant and bathrooms were very clean. Our food was ready quickly, as expected, but it was barely warm. Granted, it wasn't cold, but if it was just cooked, it should have been very hot. I ordered the Sesame Chicken and my husband got General Tso with chicken. Both were almost room temperature. The sauce on the General Tso didn't taste like you would expect it to taste. It had a very strange and unpleasant flavor. I would have sent it back, but my husband doesn't like to make a fuss and just ate half of mine instead. That was fine since they give large servings. The flavor can be a bit bland if you're expecting something beyond spicy.
