Came for the thai food and wasnt impressed. Interior vibe and servers were nice but service was also not very attentive. We got checked on once and didnt get water refills until the end of the meal. Food came out at a good time but both tasted sort of off and salty. Tried the pineapple fried rice $13, which didnt taste like traditional pineapple fried rice. The pineapple was fresh bur the meat tasted salty as if it was cooked separately and the rice was on the wet side. It just didnt come together. Tried the masaman curry with chicken $15 and that was better than the rice but also very salty. Felt a bit overpriced to me as well. But it is fairly packed when I'm done around 12:30/12:45. Service - Solid service. But there is 1 guy during dinner that's kind of lazy. I asked for the Red Chili sauce, said they had none. I mean.. this is a Thai restaurant. I know that was the wrong answer. I asked another lady and she gladly dropped it off. That guy either was very new or just purely lazy to bring me the sauce. We came here after searching Yelp for a new Thai restaurant near Sandy Springs. The restaurant is very nice from the outside and has ample parking. We were sat immediately and had an idea beforehand what to order. My fiance and I like to try pad see Ew at every Thai restaurant we go to so we tried that and the spicy basil noodle dish here. The service was great and the food came out in about 15-20min after we were seated. Our food was good, the pad see ew was much better than the spicy basil dish. I'd give the pad see ew 7.5/10 compared to others I've had in ATL and the basil dish a 6.5/10 (there wasn't a memorable taste that would keep me coming back). I am boring. Every single time I go to a Thai restaurant, I order the exact same thing. Tom kha and pad thai. Sometimes I switch up amongst shrimp, chicken, or tofu depending on the situation, but otherwise it's the same order time and time again. Thing is, I've had soo many variations on pad thai that it's still a bit of a surprise as to what I'm going to get. The pad thai at Bangkok Thyme was one of the sweeter versions I've had, despite ordering it with medium heat rather than my typical mild. The extra heat just added spiciness on top of the sweetness, which was a rather strange taste sensation. I ordered my tom kha mild as I usually am overwhelmed by spice in this dish, and while I like a little kick I don't want my mouth to be on fire. This was like eating straight up coconut milk. Absolutely no spice whatsoever. Maybe my fault for ordering mild, but I think of mild as just that and not totally devoid of spice. We ordered our dinner for takeout and I was pretty taken aback by the prices. Not sure if they add a surcharge for takeout, but $13 for pad thai seems pretty steep to me, especially for generic pad thai. I prefer mine closer to the $9-$10 range, and I can get just that DELIVERED to me from Top Spice... and it tastes better. We came here for dinner. The service started off very good and we were getting lots of attention from the waitress at the beginning, but by the time dinner was over, they barely came to check on us. We had to get up to call on a waiter. Our waitress was nowhere to be found. As far as the food goes, we ordered the crab rangoons, the chicken pad Thai, and the chicken cashew. The crab rangoons were a very doughy and dry, didn't have as much filling as I like them to have. I probably wouldn't order them again. The pad Thai and the chicken cashew were both tasty. Bangkok Thyme is our neighborhood Thai, especially for takeout. Since you can order online, and we live less than a mile away, it's just too darn convenient when you can't agree on anything else but are too hungry to put forth any effort. We have dined at the restaurant, enjoying good service and beautifully cozy decor. They have sushi bar specials that we haven't had a chance to try, since I was always pregnant, and we haven't dined in since the little one arrived. For take out, we almost always get the basil rolls, the coconut chicken soup, the pad thai, and the red curry pork. The noodles in the pad thai don't travel well, so definitely pick them up as quickly as possible and eat as quickly as possible. The red curry is creamy with a good amount of spice. When we want to shake things up, we get the holy basil chicken, which is essentially ground chicken stir fry. The odd thing for me is that it comes with a fried egg on top of the heart shaped rice pile on the side... cute? good presentation? I don't know... Happy Hour Sushi is absolutely the best here! This restaurant is probably best known for its Thai food, but the sushi is so good and very affordable. I've been here on both weekday and weekend nights and always get seated immediately. The Bakery Roll is unforgettable and a must-have! Your normal nori pieces: Yellowtail, Tuna, Salmon, ect. Some appetizers and some beers. Also a house wine or two. The price: Rolls are $2 for a four piece . Nori is $1 or $1.50 a piece. I am normally very happy with my selections!! I am a big crab salad fan and they are my favorite got to spot for that roll. I don't need a bunch of stuff on my sushi just quality fresh fish and I am happy. I have had lunch and dinner there so the special rolls are excellent and the Thai food is delicious! I am a fan of red curry and their red curry lunch special with coconut soup and some rolls hits the spot. My niece ordered the pineapple curry fried rice and was very happy with her selection. Customer service is always great, I often go alone and they are very attentive. A lot of people bring their kids here so be prepared if you are considering a romantic date, The parking can suck, and if its packed you have to park in the back and walk around. Came here when my husband and I were looking for food to eat for dinner. We were in the area and used the yelp app to find this place. Parking was not a problem for us but we did eat an early dinner (around 5PM). We arrived and we were seated promptly in a lovely booth. This has got to be one of the worst Thai restaurants I've ever come across. I went in to pick up a to-go order and was met at the entrance by another customer who was also there for same. I could spot two so-called waitresses....one at the register, pretending to be busy with her back turned to us and not even acknowledging our presence...while the other was just milling around even though we knew she had seen us waiting. The guy I met at the entrance told me he had been waiting for about 5 - 7 minutes. At a point, he got frustrated and had to walk up to the "register" waitress to demand attention but got none of it. The lady who answered said did you order it with anything else and I responded "The meat option I ordered shrimp." She said "Oh lunch pad Thai is $9.00, chicken is included in that price but it's a $5.00 up charge for shrimp". Excuse me?!? A charge that is more than 50% of what the actual dish costs for meat option, which at all the previous Thai restaurants I have visited have been included in the base price, just doesn't make any sense. I damn near paid $1.00/per shrimp basically because I only received 4-5 pieces. O_o What bothers me most is that what she said STILL does not match up to $12.88 total? They are just making up prices at their own discretion. It needs to be clearly stated on the menu that shrimp comes with an up charge AND the waitress should have mentioned that I will be charged extra for the shrimp. Even the receipt doesn't show that shrimp is an upcharge. I have seen on receipts from other restaurants if you get EXTRA meat (not just ordering meat) they clearly show extra meat +$1.00 or something along those lines.
