Service was prompt and friendly, food was outstanding! We ordered appetizers instead of a full meal each one was better than the last!

Crab rangoon and shrimp tempura (we already ate some of both dishes before the pic was taken)

I'll start off that this is my first review and I kept forgetting to take pics of the food, so some are missing or partially eaten... My family went here last night for the 3rd time, and enjoyed our meal! This is a nice, family-owned business that has a variety of Asian dishes (Thai, Chinese, Japanese, sushi, etc). It's tucked away in the corner of the shopping center so I'm hoping this review can better provide them some visibility. The restaurant has a sushi bar and several tables, and it is quiet inside. We got 2 orders of their crab rangoon...definitely the best we have found in the Sarasota-Bradenton area in the 13 years we've lived here! We also ordered shrimp tempura and egg drop soup for starters. For our meals, we got General Tso's chicken (the best ever, super crispy and flavorful), 2 sushi rolls (spicy crunch tuna and Bubba), and a kid's chicken lo mein. Everything was made quickly and was delicious! Our family will continue to come here and support this local business.

Hours that say open until 3. Yet no one answers phone 90 mins before

This happened twice to me, hence two stars, They really deserve one , but I'll be generous. I had a bad experience here a few years ago, feeling rushed and rude service. ( Even though we arrived an hour before closing) For the past two days I have been calling around 130 to order take out. Their website and Google , Yelp listings all say they are open for lunch until 3. I kept calling and calling , no one picks up the phone. Today , I decide to just go in person to order and let them know they are losing business by not answering the phones. Get there before 2pm and the doors are locked. No sign saying closed early, nothing. Just the regular business hour sign. They need to update their website. Google Listing and other business related pages if they are not going to be open the normal business hours as stated. I wound up calling Rice Bowl in the same shopping center and they answered politely by the 2nd ring. I ordered a sesame chicken rice bowl and was ready in 10 minutes. It was hot , delicious and fresh. And service was very friendly. Too many other Thai and Asian restaurants out there to bother coming back to a restaurant that doesnt care about serving customers. Or at least having a voicemail set up to say they are closed. I drove all the way here, thankfully there was backup. Good thing I didnt bring guests to eat in.

Post from day we attempted to order and again from today.

As a group of 8 people we sat down and put together an order of at least $125 for (hopefully) delivery using an older paper menu. Finally made our selections and agreed on what we were going to order. Made the call at 5:00 pm Thursday night and... no answer. We must have called 10 times and it just rang forever. I tried to look at the website and it said the server was down. The really interesting thing is at 1:15 that day they posted on Facebook to bring the family in for "fresh delicious hand made sushi". So I'm lost, you're posting on Facebook but don't answer the phone? Huh? Are you open or not? You lost $125 plus tip...

When we first had this place it was great, super good with no problems, but this time it was different. We dont eat out very often. We ordered our food to go on a phone call and their was a child crying when we called so i bet the person could barely hear us. We got our food on time, but it was not what we ordered. We ordered a meal but they gave everything separate. The chicken was soggy. The sweet-and-sour chicken was super crispy and hard to eat without a lot of sauce on the side. We found a piece of package or metal in our food after we started eating. The rice was burnt along with our general TSO chicken. The general TSO chicken had so much sauce and the bread fell right off of the chicken. The chicken was over done and chewy. We'll never order again, sorry.

Over the past two years I have had a combination of hit or miss experiences here when it comes to both the service and the food. It seems we either get great food and mediocre service or great service and mediocre food. This past visit was mostly great food and friendly service that was not attentive and absent for periods of time that were too long. My sushi roll was was the only questionable dish. It was wrapped so sloppy and the peices were not uniform or the same size and it easily crumbled when picking up with chop sticks. I seriously Think that my novice self could have rolled them with more precision. All ingredients including the raw fish were fresh and tasty.... I just have high expectations of the preparation of sushi rolls and this one fell short. The other disappointing factor was the cold saki. It was barely below room temperature and that definitely effected the taste. All negative factors asside on our recent visit, we will be back and just cross our fingers for that five start experience in the future!

You will get the BEST fortunes here lol

This place has become a go to staple when we're craving sushi, thai or chinese. The menu is extensive and offers a lot of variety (bring your reading glasses lol). But I'll help and recommend a few things...pineapple curry, pad thai, two friends roll, house salad WITH PEANUT DRESSING(!!!), Koon Poo Chicken and Bangkok roll are our favorites! Happy dinning.

We stopped in for dinner last night. The menu is impressive with photos of many of the dishes. The lighting is subdued, which made it a little difficult for my old eyes to read, but I managed to come up with what I wanted to try, Tom Yum soup, and their version of Pad Ba Mee with egg noodles. My soup arrived first and it was very temperature hot, making it difficult to eat. I think the container was designed to help keep it hot. Did I enjoy the soup? It was too much of an effort to keep from burning my tongue. I should have just tossed in an ice cube. My Pad Ba Mee arrived as I was working on the soup and it was very good. This popular dish had a good flavor and was easy to eat. I did expect there would be some brown sauce but later in checking the menu online saw it was sauteed in brown sauce. I missed the sauteed part in trying to read the menu while at the restaurant. The flavor was there, just not the liquid. Others with me were ok with their meals and we all brought home leftovers.

We ordered fried calamari for our app. These were good size ones with panko breading. It was served with sweet chili sauce. Also ordered chicken pad thai. This was a good heaping serving and big enough to share. We had a decent amount of chicken. And it came with pad thai noodles and a good amount of sauce which we like. It was not overly sweet just perfect. This was mixed with small bits of egg and some scallion wish could be a little bit more. Nonetheless we enjoyed our service, food and modern decor at Thai Seed. They also have outside seating with umbrellas as well.
