Gosh, I'm finally getting around to updating my review. I believe it was about 2 wks ago now, dropped in with 3 friends, all of which had never dined here. It was a Sat afternoon, kinda cloudy and there was a 15 min wait, not bad as Bantam was busy. This is my second visit and I cannot honestly say it was that much better than the first, food wise, however the service here is always good or better. We liked out server but he seemed to forget about us a few times, especially when it came to the napkins/dining ware? Otherwise he was good. We dined inside by the windows facing the covered patio area. Our orders were taken pretty quickly and we had a variety of items from waffles to salads etc...I had the California Club, which was very tasty, however I did not like how they choose to put "long chunks" of chicken on this sandwich! Its plenty of meat but the long chunks tend to pull out as you bite which for me can be annoying trying to place pieces back in so it lasts..... maybe they could do a "pulled chicken" instead where the meat is not so chunked. Still the sandwich was very flavorful, loved the toppings and the bread. I had a side of Duck Fat fries..... not sure what the duck-fat is about but the fries are pretty good. One friend had the Falafel Wrap, she stated it was ok, one had breakfast with a waffle and bacon, she seemed to enjoy it but was not overwhelmed and finally another friend order the California Club but agreed with me concerning the chicken chunks. She did not however enjoy her Organic Spinach salad:-( I came in with good intentions and great mood. Bantam + Biddy is definitely a memorable breakfast/brunch spot for me. On a Sunday, around 9 am, I was expecting more diners, but was pleasantly surprised to be one of the first few guests. The Ansley Mall parking lot was pretty full (for Starbuck addicts and LA Fitness gym rats) but you can still find plenty of parking spots. On weekends, B+B serves doughnuts from Sublime Doughnuts - you could almost say part of this review is for Sublime. The offerings today were: A-town cream, dulce de leche and a heart-shaped raspberry jelly powdered sugar doughnut. All were excellent with a cup of coffee. B+B gets an extra plus for service because they gave us another jelly doughnut because our first one was missing jelly. Ok, I promise to actually make a trip to Sublime next time. I was already starting to feel full from doughnuts, so instead of a full-on breakfast, I ordered the chicken tenders with wasabi honey. It's mostly the wasabi honey which piqued my curiosity. Wasabi honey was everything I thought it would be - it wasn't too spicy but it definitely had that horseradish-mustard hint. Definitely tasty and I found that a little honey was enough for each bite. I also sampled the pimento cheese on the jalepeno cheddar bread from a friend's plate. "The Southern" has a good sample of everything: cheese grits, bacon, pimento cheese and cheddar bread. It's actually quite filling. The servings here are close to the generous side. I'd consider coming back here for lunch if it weren't so far from where I lived. My family and I went her for brunch today to try it out. We we're seated quickly and given drinks. The waiter took our orders, but didn't come back for a while after that. The food took awhile, but was really good. Our waiter checked on us once, but never came back to see if we needed refills or anything else. We had to get up and hunt other servers down several times to get a few things. It took a while before our server came to ask if we wanted the check, and even longer for him to come back and take it. He was really nice, but seemed to be distracted and preoccupied with other tasks. My only other complaint is that everything is overpriced. The food is good, but ultimately you end up paying $12 for a stack of normal pancakes. Because it's so overpriced, we probably won't be back soon. read more

The food here is 4 stars, but I think the dining experience was worth a deduction. It's great that the general manager is on here doing damage control but telling your customers to find a manager to complain to during your dining experience is not an effective solution. As customers, we don't want to have to chew out a particular server for taking too long to bring out food or water, and we certainly don't want to do this in front of the family of our significant other. So please, for the customer's sake, do a better job of policing the staff to make sure that food is brought out in a reasonable amount of time and that customers don't have to sit underneath a dripping air conditioning system. We had our orders taken eventually once we all figured out what we wanted to eat. Someone isn't a huge fan of grits. It was maybe halfway during our 30 minute wait for the food that I realized I was sitting underneath an AC duct. By the time the server came back with the food, I was too hungry to bother asking for the three of us to be moved. My fried chicken and waffle was decent. I thought the cane syrup was really good. The applesauce just seemed unnecessary especially for a single waffle. The chicken was properly cooked throughout. It's not my favorite seasoning blend, but I'm sure this recipe will win over more than a few people. I tried someone's omelette as well. The omelette was proper consistency. All of the ingredients were fresh. Fried Chicken and Waffle - Good Omelette - Well Done I'll add that the service was fine except for the wait. I can't remember the name of our waitress. She was polite, courteous, and patient while taking our orders. I appreciate these things. I understand restaurants get busy sometimes, but I also know that breakfast items are practically built to be fired off in quick succession so that you can turn over tables quickly. With no more than 10 tables seated and a staff of at least 3 working that morning, you can get food out 20 minutes after an order if not sooner. I've been once and the fried chicken tenders were among the tastiest I've had. The meat itself was juicy and flavorful enough to star without any sauce, but they added on a nice wasabi honey on the side. Among the sides I sampled were: deviled eggs to die for, a mac and cheese so creamy it will make you cream your pants, sweet and not-too-spicy Mexican-style cornbread, and some solid sweet potato fries. My fiancé and I have been eating at Bantam+ Biddy for at least 3 years, and it is a standby for good southern cooking with a modern twist. The chicken is juicy and the skin is crispy, the the jalapeño cornbread muffins are to die for and their gluten free Mac and cheese is better than most place's regular Mac and cheese. So the food is good. But: The service, oh the service! This is not the place to grab a quick bite. Sometimes the order is in, the food is out in 10 minutes and you're eating good. Other times, you'll spend an hour and a half waiting for your waiter to come back, in what is easily the most inconsistent level of service I have seen in Atlanta. I've probably dined here over 50 times at this point and it's like playing Russian roulette with your time. For example, this evening, my fiancé and I seated ourselves outside, as we had just came from the dog park and had our dogs with us. Our waitress came outside, took our order, and we didn't see her again. Someone else brought our food, and we had to ask the hostess for a water refill. Turns out our waitress was talking up a storm in the back and had completely forgotten we were even there. The food keeps us coming back, but please!! Do something about your servers. There needs to be some sort of standard. TL;DR: great southern cooking, but inconsistent/ poor service brings them down in my book. read more

And if you have to use the bathroom I would suggest you wear rubber gloves and have some kind of disinfectant on you and I seriously doubt we're stats employees must was hands DOSEN'T occur at all and in reality the entire restaurant needs a good hosing out with a strong disinfectant! The server was ok even though she never inquired "how our food" was or never refilled our drinks and my spouse said the baked chicken was so dry that it was tasteless! I'm sure if the health department paid this restaurant a visit it would be close IMMEDIATELY! I guess that's why two other Bantan & Biddeys have already closed! For some reason when they are too creamy they don't taste homemade. I love all of the sides, the quinoa salad is great as is the feta on the lighter side. The mac and cheese and potatoes are delicious but on the heavier side. I've also had and love the cobb salad! It's definitely a go to, not to plug the ranch again but it's amazing with this salad.
