most of their dishes taste good but they are generally priced high. a small box of roll could easily go over $20 after tax.

I didn't expect too much from a strip mall sushi joint, but when I entered, I was greeted by a very nice woman owner. Her husband was the sushi chef and her daughter (I believe) was also helping run the restaurant. The Uni and Toro were excellent. I had to get a second round. Overall I thought the fish quality was very good. Dan ambience was fairly standard but very clean and welcoming. I would definitely go back at another point to try more of the options they had on the menu.

My partner and I had our first date here so decided to come back on our anniversary. I've been back for take out, but my partner has not been back since our first date, so it was a nice trip down memory lane. Bay Sushi shares a large parking lot with a lot of stores so parking is pretty easy to find. There's only a few tables, but we were seated right away. My partner ordered the bay dinner boat special on our first date and forced himself to eat the entire thing. This time around, we ordered it to share. It comes with miso soup, salad, rice, california roll, 5 piece nigiri, and beef or chicken teriyaki. It was definitely a good portion for two people to split. Service is always lovely, the servers are super nice and food comes out quick. Great mom and pop shop, will definitely be coming back.

ordered two rolls and a bento dinner set for $65 after tax and tip, so decent pricing but smaller portions food was good and staff was friendly so would be back for some quick weeknight sushi!

How come I never came before?! Such a hidden gem. First was the delicate decor that attended to details. The plants at the front and general wooden feel gave me the Japan vibe, strongly enforced by Japanese pop music. We sampled tempura and special sushis (instead of traditional nigiri and maki) and found them excellent. Fried oysters were crunchy outside and juicy inside. Made perfectly with good oysters. Spider roll's soft-shell crab was a bit over-shadowed. Caterpillar roll was so cutely made. After biting down, the avocado and unagi and crab were such great combination. There will be next time and we will test their traditional raw fares.

So far this is my favorite sushi place. The service is great the ladies are so kind and friendly. The fish is 10/10 it just melts in your mouth. Place is very nice and clean. The hollenback roll is really delicious, and salmon is great. The texture of the tofu appetizer was magnificent. Will definitely keep coming back.

This place is incredible. Can't beat the experience, the staff, or the quality. We love trying the specials, and also getting our regulars like their excellent miso soup, veggie tempura, and perusing their nice selection of sakes and beers. The bluefin toro is a standout treat that will haunt your dreams. We'd eat there every day if we could.

Came by for lunch the other day and it was a decent experience. Bay Sushi is a Korean-owned sushi restaurant featuring Korean staff and a Gen Z waiter wearing a mask. Service was on par with a small mom and pop shop with no silly credit card, health mandate, or mandatory service charges like in SF. Started off with the soft shell crab and it was lightly fried and served with a side of soy sauce. The shrimp tempura appetizer came with some tempura vegetables along with a dipping sauce too. These were lightly fried and tasty. The dragon roll was good, and a thinner version with shrimp tempura and unagi on the inside and avocado on the ouside. The restaurant is air conditioned to a warm 78F. ~$28/head after tax and gratuity for lunch

I really wanted to love this place! Was excited to go and bring my family. We ordered a lot of different dishes. One of our miso soups was not good, it was lacking flavor, possibly they messed up and didn't put enough paste or whatever it was. We told them we didn't like that one soup and we didn't eat it. We asked if they can bring us a new one, they refused. The waitress asked if I don't want it anymore, I said no. She proceeded to take away my UNEATEN soup-- and did not bring a replacement. We proceeded to eat our other food we ordered and enjoyed everything else without issue. When the check comes, guess what is still on the bill! The uneaten soup that was taken away!! we tried to ask them to take it off the bill or at least bring it back if they are gonna charge us for it! The said no to either request!! So cheap! Omg !! For the amount of money we spent there, to have that kind of shitty and cheap customer service looks horrible on the restaurant as a whole and does NOT make me want to return or recommend this place to anyone!! Uzumakiya had beef broth, supposedly oxtail broth. It's lighter in consistency than the ramen broth. Tasted more meaty without being heavy or fatty. The noodles were thicker but not chewy. The chashu (pork) slices that came with it was tender with just enough fat to give it the umami flavor. The Tonkotsu Ramen had the thinner noodles. The broth was creamier and richer than the beef broth but not bold or complex compared to other ramen broths I've had but still has a nice balance of flavor between the pork and dashi. Had the same chashu slices. Had more umami flavor than the Udon. Love the Hojicha Panna Cotta. Very smooth consistency. I felt like I'm eating something fancy but not heavy. Combination of light roasted tea and milk flavor. Just the right amount of sweetness. Enjoyed this the most. They had a $3 discount on their Udon. Food came out quickly. Staff were welcoming.

The waiter initially tried to show me the menu and point out the dish, but it was clearly different from what I had ordered. He shortly realized there had been a mistake, and thankfully the correct dish came out about 5 minutes later. Unfortunately, the pasta itself was disappointing. The noodles were undercooked, and the sauce was quite bland. I was expecting the four-fish dashi and bacon flavor to stand out, but I didn't really get much of either. The sesame seeds were also very overpowering and seemed to take over the dish. Overall, the sauce tasted more like a basic, thin cream sauce that didn't coat the noodles very well. The bacon and mushrooms also didn't add much flavor or stand out as much as I expected. My friend ordered the Chicken Katsu Curry. The katsu itself looked crispy and appetizing, but the curry came out lukewarm. My friend was okay with the temperature, but when I tried it, I was honestly surprised by how close to room temperature it was. I would have expected the curry to at least be served hot or noticeably warm. Overall, the presentation of the food was nice, but unfortunately the flavors and temperature of the dishes didn't meet our expectations. Between the initial order mix-up, undercooked pasta, bland sauce, and lukewarm curry, it just wasn't a particularly memorable meal. There are definitely some things that could be improved.

The tenderness of the pork is really nice too, especially paired with the onsen egg and rice. My only gripe is the service and cleanliness is really lacking and disappointing. The staff are NOT attentive, no one asks how your meal is, and just asking for a refill of water takes what seems like forever. When they still had the tablets at the table, I remember ringing for a waiter/waitress to bring my mother a takeout container and I could hear the bell ringing in the kitchen. It was very quickly shut off, a sign that maybe someone would come shortly, but nope. I waited for 5-7 minutes and rang a second time and AGAIN they quickly turned it off with no one coming. I was tempted to grab the to-go box myself, but didn't want to risk being told not to do that and just wait for an employee... Finally, after what felt like at least 10-12 minutes, someone gave us a box! As for the cleanliness, when I was served my meal once, there was old food still stuck to my tray. While it was only the tray the dishes were served on, it made me question how clean the other dinnerware was. So, while I love the Miso Katsu, the past few experiences do not make this dish worth revisiting Yayoi. Honestly, the service has been so sub-par that I really don't know why I bothered coming back. Every time I go, I wonder how disappointing the service is going to be. So, try it if you must, but be proactive in making sure your server is attentive!

The fried chicken skin was really nice and crispy, and came with a ponzu sauce and mayo to dip in. The yaki onigiri was nicely grilled and still had crispy bits when submerged in the soup.
