After a hard morning of pickleball, we decided to check out Bayou Bites for lunch. We ordered the shrimp po' boy, Cajun poutine, and mac & cheese. The po' boy was absolutely delicious--so good that I came back a few days later just to get another one. The poutine and mac & cheese were solid as well, though the shrimp po' boy was definitely the standout for us. Would recommend--and I've already returned.

Super excited to have this place in Gardnerville! We came in this evening and ordered a bunch of stuff to go. Shrimp and crawfish roll, small greens, small Mac and cheese, poutine, bread pudding and shrimp basket. After we ordered we waited about 40 minutes for our order. The cashier asked us a few times what we were waiting for.... Not sure what was going on. The restaurant was empty but they had a steady pace of people coming in for to go orders As for the rating on the food: -Collard greens- 5 stars- the best! -Macaroni and cheese- 4 stars because it Was so cold it couldn't have been warm when we left with it. -Shrimp and Cajun roll- 5 stars perfect amount of seafood, sauce and roll was fresh -Poutine- 5 stars great value for amount. Perfect amount of seasoning, gravy, and cheese. -Shrimp basket- 4 stars- great flavor but quantity seems like it should be more next to the poutine. -bread pudding- 5 stars perfect amount of bread and sauce. Just the right amount of sweetness Overall 4 stars due to the wait and it seeming like the staff were disorganized asking so many times what we were waiting for. Will definitely be back to try some of their other items but will probably call ahead next time!

So here's a good plan, have a huge lunch and then discover there's a new restaurant a mile from your house. That's what happened to me this afternoon and knowing my love of southern food I needed to immediately investigate. It's not a bad thing, I had a full stomach and so on this visit, I was unable to taste anything. This evaluation is based on how friendly the folks were, and, yes, my wife explained our situation and we were thanked for stopping in and given a to go menu. I will be back and I look forward to providing a more comprehensive evaluation. For now, five stars based on friendliness, the way the place smelled, and the fact that there were two people waiting for their food to go. Mind you they've been open for three days. We can't wait.

I had to eat half before picture. lol

I was very excited to try this place and still am glad i came. I give grace knowing it's their first week open. Prepare for long wait times. My shrimp and crawfish roll took over 30 minute's. This roll was huge and I love how they toasted the bun. The seasonings were vibrant and delicious. There was a good amount of shrimp and crawfish, and each bite was perfect. I will give them some time to get through the grand opening times and flaws, however, I will definitely be back to try more items on the menu! It's great to have some different styles of food in gardnerville.

Very impressed with everything we ordered. Will definitely be back! Hoping one day they'll have ox tails and plain beignets. We took a red beans and rice home and my hubby says that will tell him if it legit. Well I say everything I tasted was amazing!!

So happy to have a new restaurant in the ranchos that isn't Mexican or burgers!!!! We love seafood and Cajun. Everything was well seasoned and perfectly crispy. Cornmeal breading gives a great texture. We can't wait to go back and try more.

This place is so darn cute! Excited to have a flavorFULL, fun new spot in town. The staff is amazing and made everyone feel as important as the next one a busy first day!

We also love that they love dogs and our pet friendly. They have a beautiful wraparound patio that allows you to sit outside with your pups. It is a very hearty meal and comes with your choice of toast. The last time we were there, we opted for the same omelette, but with grits. They didn't have to accommodate a small cup of cajun grits, but they did. We will continue to come back because the food is fresh, delicious, and very well portioned. We are really hoping they get an espresso machine sometime soon! The drip coffee is great, but a nice latte would be even better.

We arrived for an early-ish dinner before a show. I love that this spot is out of the main Stateline area and in a much quieter neighborhood, but still walkable from the casinos. The restaurant is attached to a local motel, so it seems there are always people around. The ambiance is nice. They have a great patio, and aside from some light noise from the road and motel pool, it's a very peaceful place to enjoy a meal. Service was adequate throughout our visit, but not above and beyond. We ordered the blackened chicken sandwich and the salad with added blackened chicken. While the sandwich was truly great with tons of flavor and awesomely seasoned fries, the salad left a lot to be desired. For $25, I expected it to be large and filled with toppings. What I got instead was a sad bowl of mixed greens with a tiny portion of cheese, nuts, and dressing. The chicken portion on top was ok, but certainly a disappointing portion otherwise. At least the bread pudding was a saving grace. Absolutely scrumptious way to end the meal. The sauce was incredible! There was, of course, an upcharge for the cup of vanilla ice cream. Overall, the food was good, but I was disappointed in the value of Toulouse. While I understand the price point in SLT is a bit higher than in the valley, I felt kinda ripped off with the salad. I would come back, but certainly would avoid the salads and be prepared for a pricey check.

I ordered a draft beer and my wife a specialty drink...again very slow to come and see us but we were in no hurry. My beer came out luke warm. I asked the server about the temperature of the beer and after checking said that the keg had been left out and had not re-cooled! I ordered a can beer to follow and asked for a cold one? I ordered a burger and asked for it to be cooked medium. What i got was a charcoal blacked over well done burger i could barely choke down! I was a little disappointed at first but found it to be perfect as the sun started setting and the other tables were blinded by the sun rays. Once the sun set the views were absolutely beautiful. We were greeted by our very friendly and attentive server Matt, who was fabulous and had great recommendations. The service was top notch we never had to stare at a dirty plate or ask for anything, bus staff was incredibly attentive. The Artichoke appetizer was so delicious we ordered a second one. The Snoopy Salad was amazing and big enough to split. Hubby ordered the Snapper as recommended and it was absolutely perfect, son ordered the Chicken and loved it and both the Filets we ordered were cooked to perfection and seasoned beautifully. Sides were all very good too. This hands down was the best dinner we had over eight days in Tahoe. I highly recommend

Let's start with the good: beautiful view, great creamed spinach, great mashed potatoes, nice (but…read moresmall) order of sautéed asparagus, crisp Caesar salad, nice wine list, interesting cocktail menu, and a nice peppercorn sauce. Now, the rest. Upon arrival at 7:00pm for our 7:30pm reservation, when we requested a window table and cheerfully indicated we'd have no issue with waiting while having drinks at the bar, we were informed the window seats had all been sold --for the entire evening-- at $50 per table. I assumed if we arrived mid-first seating, we'd be in luck. BUYING window seats never occurred to me. When I reserved on Open Table I was not informed that tables next to the window are sold. So, we were disappointed. Now, on to the food. The medium rare filet was cooked medium well. The sides of sautéed mushrooms absolutely had the flavor and texture of canned mushrooms. Both the mushrooms and the "Anna Potato" side seemed not fresh--not stale, but not fresh--as though they'd been frozen, stored incorrectly, and then re-baked. The red wine reduction sauce tasted like canned beef gravy with mushrooms added. It was probably fortified with a concentrated base of some kind--a dry bouillon, commercial stock, or paste. Whatever the explanation, it was not good. The "rack of lamb" was served separated--in other words, they were lamb chops. Their flavor was acceptable but bland, in my opinion. The service was rushed and joyless. Were it not for the windows-are-for-sale practice, I might be inclined to give it another shot but the multiple flaws in the execution tip the scale. There are too many great restaurant options in this area. I'll pursue one of those next time.

So after…read morechanging our attire and relaxing a bit, we decided on a lake excursion to the shore and dining at a well recommended place. Our concierge told us about Boathouse on the Pier and we decided to go there, although the forecast called for a foot of snow in South Lake Tahoe and three to four feet of snow in the highlands, but supposedly the storm wouldn't hit until after we were back home. Trust the weatherman...... We entered the restaurant just as a gorgeous sunset was shining above menacing storm clouds over the lake. Heck, we figured at least a couple of hours before the storm, so let's eat! We were seated immediately, a part of six, with reservations made the same afternoon. We admired the deck seating and wondered how awesome it would be on a nice cool evening with the sunset.... Ally was our host, waitress and bar hostess. I am (well deservedly) giving five stars because of the exemplary service, great ambiance and delicious food, but... a couple of additional staff would be just the icing on the cake. We had four tables full during our visit, I can imagine on a sunny day, it would be critical mass... The cocktails were outstanding, summery, often experimental. I had a special Margarita that left me wanting more. The other guests had Negronis, different mixes with Aperol, etc. It was a great beginning to a great night. Then the appetizers started rolling in; their succulent Sushi Bites, which are lightly and tenderly battered, Surimi, Avocado, Rice, Wasabi ginger, and Wasabi soy. Superb! We also had the Garlic Parmesan Brussel Sprouts, crispy, aromatic and very tasty, and finally the Baked Brie, with came with pears, roasted garlic, toasted almonds, fig jam and grapes. And then there were the main courses. A splendid assortment of delicacies. I haven't tried Chilean Sea Bass in an eon, and there it was, delicately sautéed with white wine lemon butter, over a bed of wheat berry vegetable melange. Delicious. Another in our party had the Filet Mignon, deliciously medium-rare, with a red wine Demi glaze, and grilled asparagus. The Linguini with Chicken Breast was also yummy, and even their Fish and Chips came with a monumentally sized piece of haddock and delicious chips. Of course, their wine list was par for the course and we chose both a Napa White and Red. And then as we were bloated, Ally came out with the Carrot Cake and Pineapple Sorbet dishes that ended up being totally eaten.... But meanwhile as we were joyfully enjoying our dinner, the storm had moved in. By the time we left, there must have been a good 8 inches on the ground and our hotel was almost at the base of the ski area Tramway. Sporty climb up the street...... A truly wonderful evening. Ally is the best. Great food and ambiance. Again, hopefully in the summer they hire a couple more people......
