We got the House Roast Pan Roast and New England Clam Chowder. I was surprised they brought out the Pan Roast first. Right before we finished, we asked if the chowder was still coming out. I think they forgot. We also had to ask for crackers. The soup was thick with lots of clams. The pan roast was decent. It was thick and creamy with bits of crab, tons of shrimp, lobster, seafood. It came with a side of rice. The oysters were good. Forgot to ask where from. We had some Bloody Mary oyster shooters and a glass of MIO sparkling sake. That was refreshing, sweet just like moscato. You start out with two rolls of bread and can always ask for more which we did to dip with the chowder and pan roast.

I asked the server about the temperature of the beer and after checking said that the keg had been left out and had not re-cooled! I ordered a can beer to follow and asked for a cold one? I ordered a burger and asked for it to be cooked medium. What i got was a charcoal blacked over well done burger i could barely choke down! We decided not to order any dessert after this and nothing was taken off the check. This had the makings of a great spot but ended up being one of the worst lunches I've had in some time!

Upon arrival at 7:00pm for our 7:30pm reservation, when we requested a window table and cheerfully indicated we'd have no issue with waiting while having drinks at the bar, we were informed the window seats had all been sold --for the entire evening-- at $50 per table. I assumed if we arrived mid-first seating, we'd be in luck. BUYING window seats never occurred to me. When I reserved on Open Table I was not informed that tables next to the window are sold. So, we were disappointed. Now, on to the food. The medium rare filet was cooked medium well. The sides of sautéed mushrooms absolutely had the flavor and texture of canned mushrooms. Both the mushrooms and the "Anna Potato" side seemed not fresh--not stale, but not fresh--as though they'd been frozen, stored incorrectly, and then re-baked. The red wine reduction sauce tasted like canned beef gravy with mushrooms added. It was probably fortified with a concentrated base of some kind--a dry bouillon, commercial stock, or paste. Whatever the explanation, it was not good. The "rack of lamb" was served separated--in other words, they were lamb chops. Their flavor was acceptable but bland, in my opinion. The service was rushed and joyless. Were it not for the windows-are-for-sale practice, I might be inclined to give it another shot but the multiple flaws in the execution tip the scale. There are too many great restaurant options in this area. I'll pursue one of those next time.

It was a good move; she arrived with everything, did all the work and we ended up with a delicious dinner. Meghan offered several different menus and allowed us to mix and match. We referred this business to our client staying in Lake Tahoe and they secured 2 nights worth of services and the Chef received her money and never showed for either service. My client called to reconfirm the service ahead and she never called them back. She never returned our phone calls about refunding the monies that were paid to her and never answered any emails after she received payment. Absolutely the worst Chef I have ever worked with. I am totally embarrassed that I referred this chef to my VIP guests and she has been removed completely from our preferred vendor list. DO NOT BOOK. She deserves to be taken to court over this type of behavior.
