Great chili and burgers, nice cold draft beer . Exactly what you would expact from a local tavern

Good people. Good food. Good atmosphere. Good drink selection. What more can you ask for? I have been coming here since I was a kid - 20 years - and never am disappointed. I was partially persuaded to leave this review as I have been told about husby's in sister bay for a while and finally gave it a try. All I can say is I was quickly reminded that next time I consider going to another bar in door co - do myself a favor and go to bayside. The best in door county - hands down. read more

Been here a few times and always good. We had fish, steak sandwich and wings,... The wings were the biggest hit at the table and basically was my meal. They were not just little wings/ drummies and crisp to perfection. Also I forgot to mention my husband had the chefs special of pot roast sandwich with cheese on, He thought it would be shredded as that's what usually happens with pot roast when roasted, There was nothing special about it Chef! Blah sliced tasteless meat with cheese............. Otherwise everything good here as far as food. Get there early as it tends to be the place to hit in FC. Here is the good and bad about Bayside. Atmosphere is nice, Bloody Mary is good, broccoli salad very good and cherry pie was yummy. Don't order Bob's chili - I spooned 4 teaspoons of grease out of my cup of chili. When I showed the server all the grease, she said that's the way it is. Yuck! So I'm both disappointed in the service and my lunch. Plus when we received the check, the cup of chili cost over $10. read more

I stopped in Bay Side Tavern as most other businesses in Fish Creek were closed in the off season. (Which I must say is a major plus for Bay Side Tavern). They had a special for the day where a plain hamburger was two dollars, and all specialty burgers were adjusted from there so I ordered the Chili-Cheeseburger and It was very good. It was different from most chili-cheeseburgers in the fact I think it was mostly chili meat included on the burger. No major amounts of sauce, and therefore no mess, but still plenty of flavor. The burger came with potato-chips which was nice. I had the Cherry Pie a la mode for dessert and it was Fantastic! I have had Door County Cherry Pie before and so I had high hopes and I wasn't let down. The tavern wasn't overcrowded (I would attribute this to being a monday offseason), but the atmosphere was fine. I would recommend this to anyone in Fish Creek. read more

We have been here numerous times and last minute discussion we decided to order a pizza, not a good one, it was under cooked. Frozen pizza is a lot better! We are coming back to door county in October and we will not be stopping at Bayside. read more

Pizza was pretty good and the order was correct. The only thing I wasn't too thrilled about was the crust, it was thin and a little hard. But coming from Chicago, it just wasn't what I was used to, but it was still good! read more

Busy busy busy. Ate at the bar, which is a little awkward...no good way to eat over your plate. Typical sports type bar. Need to get there early if you want a seat. Burger was good...cooked medium rare and fries were decent. read more

Oh Bayside Tavern you have seen some of our best days in Fish Creek! My family and I typically rendeveau at this establishment on rainy days instead of boating. We actually call those "Bayside afternoons" which entails all of us getting extremely inhebriated and eating delicious chili and staying from about noon to bar close. Needless to say this is one of my favorite spots in town and so many memories have been made here. And yes it's good for kids! You can drink with your parents in WI, the family that drinks together stays together is our motto! I love this bar. Enough said. read more

I stopped in with my son for a Bloody Mary on 6/24/21 sat at the bar and was completely ignored by the 2-3 bartenders. They had plenty of time to talk to one another but no time to pay any attention to their patrons. I could understand if they had full capacity at the bar but there may have been only 6-8 people sitting at the bar. After 5 mins without any service we got up to walk out saw my sister in-laws there having some drinks & apps. They told us they were treated rudely by one of the men working there & they were also given the wrong food order. I've tried this place over the years and every time walk out completely disappointed. 2 years ago my wife & I stopped in with our four kids for lunch and drinks. We asked for a pitcher of water & watched as our server ran her hand through the stream of water, from the faucet, filling our pitcher to make sure it was cold. Obviously told my wife & kids not to drink the water. Shame on me for trying them out again. We will never step foot in this place again. read more

Met coworkers for lunch today and the special was walleye rueben. It was anything but special.Thick sliced bread, cheese and lots of kraut to hide the lack of what they called walleye. Very disappointed! read more

My girlfriends and I do a girls weekend in Door County every year and always make a stop at Bayside for drinks. Well this year my husband and I are expecting our first baby (I'm 21 weeks so it's obvious and not to mention I told her I was pregnant that's why I was asking for a virgin drink) so there was no drinks for me on this annual girls trip. Anyway I asked the bartender (tall lady with blonde hair) if she could make me a virgin strawberry daiquiri. She looked at me rolled her eyes and said "I don't even know how to make that" and walked away. Put no effort into trying to find out or even asking if I knew. I have bartended/waitressed for 10+ years and would have been more than happy to tell her that the rum can be replaced with sprite/lemon lime soda. Now I know that these aren't the easiest to make because they require a blender and can kinda be a pain but I don't think I was asking for much. Well instead I just asked for a glass of water and left it at that. When it came time to check out my 3 girlfriends that were with me waited 10 minutes just to check out! The bartender never came back to ask us how we were doing and completely ignored us. It seemed as though if you weren't a local they wanted nothing to do with you. Well when my girlfriends finally got the bartenders attention she came over looked at them and said "maybe the pregnant one should buy the drinks". WTH?! Why?! Myself and my friends were so shocked by the comment! Just because I'm pregnant I should pay for the drinks?!? Then the bartender proceeded to say "soon enough it will be over". At this point I just walked out. I was taught that if you have nothing nice to say you shouldn't say anything at all. And at this point I had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING nice to say. I felt completely discriminated against because I was pregnant! I'm sorry to be an inconvenience to you and your business. Side note: I had bad customer service here 2 years ago when we started our annual girls trip and decided to give it another try. Last year the customer service was a bit better but this year is was the WORST! It's very doubtful I will ever come back to this establishment again. Or at least definitely not go there when/if I'm ever pregnant again. read more

Stopped for dinner, early...before dark, no tables available, no seats at bar available. Have two year old and three adults. Got the bartenders attention and asked how to get a table? Justin or Dustin proceeded to give me the most condescending, snarky, and disrespectful speech about, "this is a bar...when somebody gets up, you grab the table...it's a bar ma'am peppered throughout" as if I hadn't noticed, didn't understand English, or couldn't read. Me: "So no one else in here is waiting for a table?" Justin or Dustin " It's a bar speech again" dripping with further disdain and a "did you check with the valet?" Question tossed in for an unbelievable attempt at humor, to which only he was chuckling at". Was not offered a drink, in fact, I had to ask him three times during his speech for a drink in a futile attempt for him to just stopping talking as I was getting more and more frustrated with his antics. Would have left, but hungry two year old would have been a recipe for disaster. Struggled to get menus, waitress took used beverage glasses away, didn't ask if we wanted more. I went to the bar for drink refills and luckily was served by a more pleasant individual who didn't talk to me like I was a child. Bottom line: My daughter is a local in Door County and is in the service industry here. I fully understand the demands, staffing struggles, and crappiness of "tourist season", which is why we spend our time together late in the season when things are winding down. Same weekend last year, we stopped at Bayside Tavern, and in fact, there was a gentleman stationed outside only letting people in when a table came free, and kicking people out of the curbside pick up spots. (Not a valet, but pretty close to a Maitre D' or host as he was our point of contact) So Justin or Dustin, good luck with your service career. I feel sorry for you. You must get treated pretty crappy by your customers, and/or your employer that you feel the need to drive business away by verbally tongue lashing someone asking a simple question. Bayside Tavern... We waited for a drink at the bar for 25 min and the bartender looked at us and walked by and didn't acknowledge us. Money sitting on the bar and apparently doesn't want the business. We walked out and went elsewhere. It wasn't for a lack of staff either. read more

Bayside Burger is outstanding. So was the broccoli bacon cheddar soup. Beer was cold, and everything priced right. Great stop.

Stopped in by chance without a recommendation. Great old school atmosphere and charm. The burgers were one of the best EVER. I had the chili burger which was done medium and smothered in a Cincinnati style chili with onion and sour cream. Amazing ! My girlfriend had the cheeseburger which was so good. Our server, Carley, was very attentive and provided a great dining experience. Keep it up Bayside. read more

This is a great place to catch some live music!! When I went there was a very good ska/reggae band that reminded me of one of my favorite local bands back in college. The crowd is very lively and fun too!! It can get crowded sometimes, but I didnt think it was too bad. The more the merrier! read more

We were up in Door County last week and headed over there the day we arrived as we wanted casual. We ordered some appetizers and a pizza for dinner along with some beers. The pizza was perfect! Thin crust with high quality cheese and toppings loaded onto it. Seriously one of the best pizza's I have had. (i am not a chicago style fan as the only flavor is cheese) Beer selection is great as well with about 12 things on tap. We decided to go back another night for $2 burger night and 1/2 of pizza as well. Unfortunately they ran out of dough so we did the burgers which were damn good and came on a great roll (not a hamburger bun) and for .50 cents they put on like 4 slices of bacon. Teflon & Heather are really great bartenders. Lots of guys in the Illinois tuxedo - tucked-in mock turtlenecks and crispy baseball caps. Reasonable prices, middle-aged soroority sisters gittin' wasted, pizza on pedestals. Was busy on a early February Sat. nite - wouldn't want to elbow through the crowds in the summer. Oh, the Bayside coffee is pretty awesome if you like flames and whipped cream. read more

Man, I trust every time I go here it will be better. Service is slow and sometimes you need to remind them what you ordered. I really want to love it, so please get some servers and bar tenders that can do what needs to be done. Location and tradition can only go so far. For now, I head elsewhere. read more

Great chili and great place to watch the Packers! Pizza has always a lot of fresh tasting toppings and the sauce is not too sweet. Have been there a couple times each year during the Fall for the past 15 years. Great place with hardworking pleasant staff. A must stop for more than a drink. read more

We just went here for the first time tonight for carryout and I am so glad we did. I had a steak sandwich that was melt in your mouth delicious!! My husband had the pork sandwich that he said had big chunks of tender pork! My daughter loved her burger! We will go there again!! read more

Stopped here last evening after the sunset. Nice & clean bar/restaurant. Felt like home. Our waitress was so friendly, nice smile & great sense of humor. The food was so amazing! My husband had the bacon burger with fries & I had the salmon special. Huge proportions. Wow! We were miserably full but felt good, since this was the best meal out of our 5 day stay in Door County. The cook even checked on us to see if everything was ok. Locals were very friendly & entertaining. Definitely a 5 star restaurant. I wish I had caught the name of our waitress. One of my favorite places ever! It's kind of like stepping back in time into an old fashioned Wisconsin tavern, which is fun. The family who owns it is very kind, friendly, and fun to talk to. Stopped by on a Friday night for drinks and chow; don't know if this was the local Happy Hour, but the place was packed, about a dozen people were waiting for tables, the ambiance resembled the toy section at Walmart on Black Friday, and there were no staff to be seen to let us know when a table might actually open up. (There were lots of people at tables who seemed to be waiting a long time for food.) We didn't want any part of this chaos. read more

Damned if I can figure out where the five star reviews are coming from. Heed the one and two star reviews. We stopped in after a play at the Peninsula Players theater for a few drinks. The place was two thirds empty. Two male bartenders were making sparkly/flaming drinks for half a dozen 20-something ladies (girls' night out maybe?) and completely ignoring everyone else. OK, they'll see us patiently sitting here pretty soon. Nope, too busy yucking it up with the cute things. But even better, a youngish lady bartender was clearing glasses from the bar not six feet from us and didn't even look at us. At first I thought maybe she's kitchen help or something, but then she passed out menus to later arrivals at a booth behind us and THEN proceeded to draw taps for a couple that arrived after us and sat at the bar six stools away while still completely ignoring us. WTF? I'm normally pretty laid back, patient, and understanding of overworked staff. But these people were not overworked, just rude. We're not townies, and I guess they prefer the local money. Oh well... We walked out after fifteen minutes and won't bother them by occupying their bar stools again. read more

Nice little pub in the heart of Fish Creek. Not many to choose from but great service and a nice selection of tap beers.

My fiance and I went here in May 2011 and are going back again in early November. The food and drinks were great and I don't think I have ever had such great service at a bar, especially from Bill!!! Best bartender around!! We cannot wait to go back! read more
