Bayside was a huge disappointment tonight. We went for the chili and had the worst food ever. The chili was a bowl of luke warm meat swimming in grease and the cheese I requested that was an upcharge was a waxy generic kraft single at best...this bowl of horrors was $8.50!!! Our only hope was the basket of fries, another disappointment. The fries were over fried, served cold and just weird!!! I think I will stick with the pizza and fish fry which have been a thousand times better than the gruel I was served tonight. read more

Pleasant surprise! Believe this is where the locals go judging by how busy it was at 10 to 9 on a Wednesday. Great service, great food. Fries were fresh and crisp, sandwiches hearty. One of the few places we found that was open past 9pm. Would recommend to anyone in the area. read more

Best sports bar experience in door county. Servers are attentive and work very hard to keep patrons happy. Great place to hang out at night as well. Drinks reasonably priced in comparison to other bars in area. Cheese curds are delicious as well as grilled cheese and bacon sandwich. Go here!! The food here is nothing really to write home about although I will say the Tuna sandwich is really good. This place is all about Friday and Saturday nights after you go to a different place for dinner. You cannot beat the atmosphere. I grew up "going up north" for the weekends and summers and when I finally hit *cough* 21 I realized why my parents always wanted to. I like the Bayside! The food is good, the people who work there are really nice, the beer is excellent and the atmosphere is fun. Fish Creek's main watering hole is a place I'd gladly go and spend money to have a few drinks, and the owners are very fine people. Also their pizza is quite good, the crust is really crispy and the sauce is zesty. Because these are Fish Creek locals and Wisconsin folks, they're not obnoxiously loud and it feels comfortable. read more

Bay Side has been a local staple for many many years and has never lost it's touch. Many local watering holes have raised prices or trumped up their decor to draw in more business, but Bay Side knows what works and has never failed. Just left this place with my family of 4 five minutes ago after having been seated 10 minutes. There was an older waitress that behaved awfully rude while we were standing by the table as she attempted to clear from prior diners, and scowled that we need to wait before she was going to clean any further. She proceeded to cater to a nearby family that seated after us to finish cleaning their table, take drink orders, menus , etc; meanwhile passing by our table each time. I did interrupt her asking if we would get service, and received a gruff response something to effect of, 'look for our server.' At one point she scowled at my wife to kick her chair in because she was 'in the way'. We are a generally pleasant and patient family...so I thought anyway. So, there was an elderly couple waiting by the door and I offered our table to them wishing them better service. We left this establishment totally dumbfounded as to what just happened, never to return. read more

While we were standing out front looking at the menu a local came by and said we would definitely be happy with eating here. When traveling we have always trusted the opinion of locals so we went in and had a great experience. Our waiter was friendly and welcoming, made good recommendations about the beers on tap - even brought me a sample to be sure I liked his suggestion before ordering. We had side salads (fresh and varied greens) and split a very tasty cheeseburger, cooked to smoky perfection. The bar atmosphere was perfect - plenty of local flavor to amuse us as we eavesdropped. I've come here several times and had nothing but great customer service! They always accommodate all of our request. This bar is a friendly locale bar with a niche for serving great food and spirits. Got the platter mushrooms were burnt lots of the cheese curds had no cheese in them. Looked kind of short on staff.

Bayside Chili is well know and has been served for years. They insist on serving the dried out burned chili from the bottom of the pot. It is truly bad. The last three times I visited Bayside, I got the burned dried out chili. They don't care or they would fix this problem. I am not going back. What a total waste of calories. read more

Great place for a quick bite - bar food but still great! Servers absolutely work their butts off!!! We like to go for late-night drinks.

The two bartenders were great, entertaining, polite. But the one female bartender was the rudest person I've ever met. We, sober, ordered a shot for our bachelorette and her response was "don't make me do that"... forgetting that her job is to pour shots and drinks unless the person is over served (none of us were). There was a point in the night were she was flipping off my friend for telling her that it's her job to pour drinks. We are all bartenders so we tip well, treat the bartender with respect, and are just there for a good time... but her attitude throughout the night got worse and worse for no reason. Her disgustingly rude sarcasm and comments to our entire group was awful. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 was because of Zach and the other female bartender who were great all night long. read more

Went there for a late lunch and was ignored. It was about 3:30 in the afternoon, so it wasn't busy. We walked in and stood by the table. The bartender never made eye contact and several waitresses completely ignored us. After a few minutes, I went around the bar and got our own menus. I used the restroom and still nothing. My husband & I had our 1yr old baby... maybe they don't like kids? We waited for 15 minutes and got up & left. As we were leaving the waitress talking to the table beside us finally looked up but didn't care enough to say anything. I'm so disappointed. The food was really good for bar food. It was a little pricey but it was above average bar food. The particuler waitress we had wasnt that busy when we were there but it was obvious that she knew werent locals and were treated totally different than the local folks. She never checked on us after we got our food. We actually had to go to the bar and get more beer and soda while she chatted with the local patrons. The other waitresses looked very attentive as well as the bartenders. I know were not locals but the tourist are the reason these bars and restaurants stay in business. We heard about live music here and it was the only place open late so my father, my brother, and myself decided we would finish our night here. Drinks are overpriced, but not horrible, we were having a good time until I stepped out to make a phone call and my brother went to the john to take a leak. Well three townies attacked him from behind and sent him to the hospital with a broken nose, ribs, stitches required in his knee and face, and the guys got away with it b/c when he was almost unconscious on the bathroom floor they fled the place. Beware this bar and beware fish creek in general! Cops were of no help, asked a few questions of course no one saw anything or anyone responsible...and b/c they broke my brothers nose against the wall he couldn't see who was attacking him, just that there were 3 of them. I've been coming to BaySide for 25+ years and today decided- no more. It seems their accountants must have taken over. Quality is down but prices are up. For instance when I asked for a diet Pepsi or Coke I was told they only serve Diet Rite Cola. Really? When people order a rum and Coke they're getting Diet Rite Cola? We were served ice tea that tasted like poison. Their explanation was that every server was supposed to know the machine wasn't working correctly. We were overcharged for the fries but the price wasn't on the menu. (I looked and asked to see the price). A handful of poor quality potato chips were served along with our hamburgers. I was told this was new. It also meant the price jumped $.75. I sure didn't want or need them because I was already overpaying for fries. We both had the same burger but when the bill came one was charged $6.50, the other was charged $7.25. What? I was told the price difference was because I asked for mayonnaise on the side.Our server said it was a mistake and charged $7.25 for each burger. BaySide will still be popular because of location and liquor but skip the food and rum and Diet Rite Cola. read more
