Stumbled across this while driving in the VH area. Never knew we had a Korean fried chicken place and have always wanted to try it. The chicken was surprisingly flavorful and had a good kick despite having no sauce. Rice cakes were spicy as well and very tastey. The place is small and has minimal seating, As I waited for my wings to be prepared I read the large board describing the process they use when making the wings. It was pretty extensive, and definitely more than "dip, fry, toss in a box". As previously reviewed these suckers were absolutely THE BEST wings I have ever had. The Spicy Galbi was not hot, but it had an incredible flavor. The Carribean Spice was equally surprising. What got me was the crisp crust on the wings. it was shockingly great. I highly recommend anyone who is periodically eating wings, or a focused connoisseur searching for the best wings, to hit this joint. They won't be disappointed. Sadly I cannot even try this restaurant! I have a HUGE allergy to MSG - actually it makes me violently ill! Before ordering, I called and asked. Was told yes, it's totally in their batter that coats the chicken. So sad!!! MSG is absolutely not necessary and makes many people sick - not just me. I have ordered bb.q chicken many times from my local buffalo grove bb.q chicken. I was with my daughter in Vernon hills for a lesson and I ordered from this shop. The quality was really poor vs buffalo grove. Almost no sauce. I called the shop and complained. Instead of hearing me out the person starting to tell me that how they are following the original recipe and buffalo grove franchise is doing their own things. I told them that when I buy McDonald's burger I don't except there is a variation from franchise to franchise, she kept telling me again and again that she can't take responsibility is other franchise is making delicious wings tweaking it. Instead of hearing my complaint and offering me a solution or a replacement ,it almost seemed like ' look you paid and took the wing , it's your problem now '. My family had a very bad experience hearing the son of the owner shouting and degrading at their employee while asking permission if she could give more ketchup as we have requested. He was yelling at the top of his voice and we heard it from the kitchen to the dinning area. The employee just took it in stride and I find it demeaning and humiliating to be treated as such. I have never in my life had any issues with ketchup and majority of the restaurants will give you more than what you need. We ordered 16pcs of their honey chicken and a Tteokbokki to go. Waited the usual 20-25 minutes. Upon returning home, we only had 8pcs. We just wanted to refund the difference so we could go on with our lunch. We called bb.q Chicken regarding this matter and the distrustful saleslady wanted a photo so we sent a couple. She told us she didn't receive it. So I was pissed that I had to drive another 4 miles back to prove them wrong. Upon showing all the evidence, I told her that I am NOT going LIE or travel 8 miles total for 8 pcs of wings! She later admitted that she mistakenly switched it with another order. I was so incensed about the inconvenience and distrust that I experienced. I really felt insulted and demanded a refund instead of waiting another 20 minutes for that missing 8. To make it worst, the lady even had the audacity to check the tteokbokki if I ate it what if I did? she won't refund me? Even if a restaurant's food can be good but if the service is awful and have no value of its customers, people will not come back. read more

If you want the most classic tasting Korean fried chicken, this is the place. I have tried number of KFC across the country, and in Korea too. This place hits it home. They are pretty meticulous about their meat preparation too and very clean. It's more of a take out oriented but fried chicken preserves well when doing take out. We generally get their half and half option. Half original and half sauce flavored depending on mood of the day. It's very crunchy and super juicy. Although this is a chain, the quality can vary by location. This one is excellent. read more

This was our first visit to this establishment and we placed an $80 lunch order to go. The order was supposed to be ready at 11:43 AM. At 12:09 PM, my husband was finally on his way home from picking up the food. We live 15 minutes from the restaurant. All of the food was barely warm, bordering on cold. It shouldn't be that cold in 15 minutes in a car. While in the restaurant, one of the employees was having a loud conversation/yelling about things happening in the kitchen and everything seemed very disorganized.
