Top: pecan waffle with bacon. Bottom: French toast with sausage links

Invited a friend to breakfast. I'd heard about Bella's, so we went. It was a holiday Monday morning. The place was open. Only two tables were full. We were seated immediately and drink orders were taken. We checked out the menu. Lots of good looking choices. I went with basic French toast and sausage links. My friend ordered the pecan waffle and bacon. First off, coffee was good...dark and flavorful. Food came pretty fast. My order was basic, but exactly what I wanted. My friend said the pecan waffle was decadent. The place filled up as we ate and chatted. Service was good. Servers were friendly. Definitely worth another visit to try different dishes!

We stopped by Bella's this past Tuesday for breakfast. I like how they designed the interior. Cute and spacious. I ordered the chicken and waffles. The chicken was awesome. Crispy outside, without the breading being too thick and juicy on the inside. The waffle was the proper thickness and held up to the chicken and syrup. My wife ordered the French Toast and sausage plate. Nice cinnamon flavor on the French toast (one of the toast was a bit undercooked though). Eggs tasted like they were cooked in butter (as they should be) and the breakfast sausage had that proper meat/spices/salt flavor you expect. While friendly, we did not see our waitress often. They appeared to be understaffed. Overall, had a nice time at Bella's. Looking forward to trying their lunch menu.

First impression as we came in was that it was a nice small diner. Quiet, clean. There wasn't a lot of people at the time we went which was late afternoon. Service in the other hand was very slow, very poor. The staff could use more training. Ordered the Eggs Benedict, wife got the cornbeef hash, and the kids pancakes. Food arrived quickly actually. That was probably because the cornbeef hash was pretty much the same one you get out of the canned Libby's. Egg Benedict, not that good, the holandaise was disgusting. The kids at least liked their pancakes. It took our server 8 minutes to bring us Ketchup. And of course we didnt get any refills. Server was pretty nonexistent. The worst part was my wife ended up having a bad stomach ache the whole day. Mine wasn't so bad, still got an upset stomach nonetheless. Thats probably because I didnt even eat half my food. Just part of 1 eggs Benedict and a bit of country potatoes. Just happy my kids didnt get a bad tummy ache. Definitely wont be back. Eat at your own risk. Personally, I wouldnt recommend eating there. Go Molly J's near there or even Toasted down the road for breakfast/brunch.

The inside is nicely adorned with some Bakersfield photos on the wall, restaurant itself is well-lit and clean. It did have a considerable amount of people coming in - quite unexpected since this restaurant was new to me. Service was fast and excellent. Just had my favorite - eggs, hash, and bacon. I think my dish was cooked well, may be a bit under-flavored but you can always ask for condiments. Not bad, might explore their menu some more!

Seen this place on TikTok thought me and my mom would give it a try... definitely not coming back... waited 15 minutes just to get our order taken, 45 minutes just to receive our food mind you it wasn't even packed, the waiter came once and never brought my condiments and toast, it doesn't take 45 minutes to make 3 eggs and 3 pancakes... food was cold and didn't even look like an omelette my disabled mom could make an better omelette! Never again should have sticked to Spenser's or toasted!

The restaurant is clean and spacious. There are some stock images of food on the wall for decoration. The waitstaff is nice, but I was left a bit underwhelmed, having read other reviews that said they were met with amazing customer service and hospitality. I ordered a bacon waffle, which stated on the menu that it comes with butter and syrup. When I received my waffle, it had no butter. No biggie. I asked one of the waitresses if I could have some, as I recall it being on the menu. She then told me that it doesn't actually come with butter, despite the menu saying it does. Which I thought was odd... but nonetheless, I got some butter. It was okay. The waffle was a little dry and the bacon is more sprinkled on top than stuffed. Please take items off the menu if they do not come with the food or item ordered.

I've been passing by this place a few times and I decided to have breakfast here with my sister and I am glad we did. The food portion was just perfect and it had a lot of flavors to my liking. I ordered the California Omelette with country potatoes and a side of sourdough toast-- and everything was delicious! The inside was spacious and the food tasted like I was eating at someone's home-- which in my opinion was very comforting. Our server was nice and friendly and she asked if we needed anything frequently. Also, I recommend trying their Pecan Waffles! I made the mistake in eating this last so the whip cream melted a little bit but it was still delicious and adding the maple syrup made up for it.

Over meeting, eggs, bacon, and hashbrowns with side of toast good portions

The space is actually one of their biggest strengths there's a lot of seating, plenty of room to bring your laptop and work remotely, and areas where people can gather. It's also connected to a church, so it definitely leans into that community-centered atmosphere. Unfortunately, after going back 3-4 times hoping my experience would improve, the coffee has been consistently disappointing. It tastes burnt and weak at the same time like warm water with sugar. There barely seems to be any real espresso in the drinks. On more than one occasion, I've taken several sips hoping it would get better... and ended up throwing the whole drink away because it was just that bad. That's honestly frustrating, especially when you're paying for specialty coffee. The only drink I've actually enjoyed there is the pumpkin spice latte, that one was solid.

More recently, I'm only in town a few days out of the week, but I make a point to visit this location or their other location, Mokhamena on Panama, each day I'm here to, at a minimum, pick up two for myself--the first one is to function and the second is to savor. The staff there are always friendly and awesome, and on days that I'm lucky enough, I get to actually enjoy the cafe. So grateful you guys are here and sharing flavors from across the world.

If im clueless let me in on the Vietnamese coffe you know of...anyhoo If you're looking for a caffeine kick, the cold canned Vietnamese coffee will give you a jolt you wouldn't believe. Food-wise, the Peruvian grilled cheese sandwich was flavorful and well made, but I'd recommend asking for the sauce on the side unless you enjoy a messy sandwich. The ham and cheese croffel had great flavor, but it was a little light on the ham and cheese. I think the cropples are better suited in the sweet variety as they seem small incompressants to a ham and cheese croissant someone would purchase for about half that price. In my opinion, it was more of a kid's snack than a meal and not quite worth the price, if you're actually hungry I would go with something else off the menu. Everything was made fresh , you must be patient here , perfection can be slower than your metabolism, so dont go there hangry. During my visit, Hector explained that he envisions Uncharted Adventures as a gathering place for the community. The business frequently hosts weekend vendor markets and local running clubs. Hector also shared he was creating a dedicated Memorial Day wall honoring local veterans, first responders, and teachers, while also working on an outdoor eating area. It's always great to see a Hector and Chris, and the new Adventures they take on. This is one of the few coffee shops in Bako worth checking out, whether you're stopping in for a coffee, a bite to eat, or a community events theyre hosting give em a visit an introduce yourself. You can thank me later. .Overall I would give everything a four and a half Stars but since Yelp doesn't do half Stars I'll give them a five out of five stars. As I was walking I saw the sign for this place and was happy I did because my other coffee options were a fast food restaurant or the famous coffee chain. It was a bit confusing to locate. It was tucked away in the back of a commercial office space type building. Once inside the place was very clean and organized. Very minimalist design. I was only one of 4 total people inside. My order was taken quickly. I ordered an iced americano with a ham and cheese turnover. Coffee was on point. No notes. No complaints. The pastry however was not good. The food is heavily missing flavor, the hummus is disgusting. I can't believe they call that thing hummus, it's an insult to actual dish.. it's almost like it was trying to imitate the real dish, but failed terribly in even attempting to. Their pizza tasted like play-doh and looked very pale. Smitten is at least consistent with one thing, which is their staple: no flavor. One of the breaking points for me was being served food that had someone's HAIR. The restaurant is very expensive for the poor experience they have to offer. I stopped recommending them a long time ago.
