There really isn't much to say. That place does BBQ RIGHT PERIOD. Pork Ribs 10/10. Brisket. 10/10 Flavor 10/10. Flavor. 10/10 Texture 10/10. Texture 10/10 Sauce 10/10. Seasoning 10/10 Mac & Cheese 11/10 Coleslaw 10/10 That damn BLUEBERRY CORNBREAD 15/10 Service WONDERFUL I truly didn't believe the hype. Well worh the wait. At a glance seemed crazy but the line truly flows. I love the little stop light information system they have on the wall. Anything in red light is sold out. Yellow light getting low and green light good to go. I absolutely positively will be returning to this place. Me and my kids enjoyed the food.

When we read reviews, the bottom line is we wanna know if this is a place that we should try. Belly barbecue should be on your radar, and yes, the bottom line is you want this!! Here's why- This is a family owned business nestled in the heart of Folsom. Definitely not a place that you would necessarily expect to find a BBQ joint, but absolutely a reason for you to travel here, drive here, wherever you are, you should definitely fill your belly here. The brisket, the beef and pork ribs, the turkey, and the links are all smoked on site and big barrel smokers. Everything is made in house. The greens, the mac & cheese, the cornbread, the beans, and the dessert desserts! What should you order? Anything and everything, but you absolutely will want the brisket. That is how you know that the food is THAT good. They offer the fatty cut and the lean cut. I would definitely go for both, but I personally like the fatty cut. It's perfectly smoked. The meat is flavorful, tender, lightly seasoned, and truly a perfect smoke. The pork ribs are tender, slightly peppered, and really tasty. The sausage comes a couple different ways, and I went for the mild. It's served sliced, and you know it's going to be good because when you bite into it, you still get that snap from the skin. What sides should you get? The beans, greens and blueberry cornbread. If you're dining with someone, you can order the 2-3 platter and make some adjustments. If you're dining alone, get this anyway because you're going to want leftovers. This is another great way to tell the quality of the food. It's one thing to enjoy it when you're dining, but when you have the leftovers and they taste even better... You know you've scored! The beans are amazing! So incredibly flavorful, filled with chunks of meat, you might even spot a veggie or two in there, and they are so incredibly perfectly seasoned. Literally the best beans I've had in a restaurant. The blueberry cornbread. Before you make a face or question my sanity, not only what you want this, but you should get an extra slice to have with your leftovers at home. Yes, it's cornbread, but it taste more like a lighter version of cake. It's not gritty, it's moist, and the blueberries just elevate the cornbread. The greens. If you love greens, and like me, you've been hard-pressed to find a restaurant that can make them correctly, look no further. Another sign that the food is delicious, when you eat the greens as leftovers/on the second day, and they're even better than they were on day one. I'm telling you this is magic! Their desserts are pretty legit, and that banana pudding is lighter than air and is absolutely delicious. Diners tip: they open at 11 AM, and people were lined up at 9:30 am waiting to get in to order food for either dine in, or take away. The line stayed at least 50 people deep during our dining experience, and I would imagine it stayed that way until they closed. Belly BBQ has been opened going on two years, and if they are not on your radar, they should be! Go get your smoked meat game on!

Had a chance to try this fabulous BBQ. Brisket, Ribs, Sausage was all great, as well as the sides of Baked Beans, Mac n Cheese, and Slaw. Blueberry cornbread was heavy on blueberries but was quite tasty. The 2 standouts to me, were the Banana Pudding and surprisingly, the Turkey. The Turkey was ll I mp, juicy and more tasty than any Turkey I have ever had . Service was friendly and prompt. It isnt a large area to sit and eat, and with the short window of operational hours, the Restaurant lends itself more to an an order to go kind of place

The hubster and I FINALLY made it to Belly Barbeque! I was so sad to have been out of town for the Yelp Elite Event here. We stopped by yesterday and the line was crazy, so we decided to come today before they opened. Was there still a line before they opened? Yes. We waited about 40 minutes...but it was worth it! We ordered the Feeds 2-3 Tray that comes with 1/2 lb of Brisket, 1/2 lb of Port Ribs, 1/4 lb of Turkey Breast, two sides (we chose baked beans and cheesy grits), and a dessert (we chose chess cake). You can smell Belly Barbecue's deliciousness from outside and once you walk in that only intensifies! Everything is cooked to mouth-watering perfection! Their portions are ample. There is plenty to share and the 2-3 platter will feed our family for two sittings. The hubster and MIL raved about their baked beans and I was in heaven with the cheesiness of the grits...YUM! Also, the option today for the blueberry cornbread was fabulous! Their servers are friendly, work hard, and deliver up the smiles. Inside there are seating options for small and medium sized groups. We took ours home to eat and the food traveled excellently! Please note Belly Barbecue does have limited days and hours, so plan accordingly and do not let the lines discourage you if you arrive early enough...you will leave fed, happy, and satisfied! Amazing BBQ with top notch customer service. The owner took time out of his busy day to come over and check on how our visit was. It was super a super genuine interaction and I can't say how much I hope his business succeeds going forward. My dad and I made the 30 minute drive to Belly BBQ. We were looking forward to this meal all day. It did not disappoint! Totally exceeded my expectations. Their menu is straightforward. You've got your meats, sides and a couple desserts. Their 3 day hours of operation schedule allow for them to focus on perfecting their craft, and it's working. Line took about 20 minutes to get to the front. But the food was absolutely worth the wait. The Mac and cheese here was phenomenal. Not just creamy and cheesy but the flavors were deep and rich. The cheesy grits hit the high mark for me. I had only eaten grits once before and wasn't very impressed. The grits at Belly BBQ however changed my whole perspective on the classic southern dish. I'm craving some now and will be ordering the grits with every future visit. The BBQ here is done perfectly. We got the 2-3 person tray which was $55. Came with pork ribs, brisket, smoked turkey and the two sides I mentioned earlier. We also added two spicy sausages. This was a ton of food. Everything was delicious. I especially loved the smoked turkey. It was so bomb. Place is relatively small. Most people got their orders to go. No TV's, tables were very clean. The one bathroom they have was clean as well. I'll be back to have my fiancee try it and my dad has already volunteered to join us. It was a nice lunch with my pops, I'm glad Belly BBQ was able to deliver on the great food.

The food was absolutely delicious. For Father's Day, all my hubby wanted was some good bbq. So we waited in a very long line and the food didn't disappoint. Definitely the meats were the highlight. The cornbreads were sold out so we didn't get to try those. The jalapeno poppers were very good but the rest of the sides were just average. Will be back for some more meat and hopefully a chance at some cornbread.

I was finally able to try them out since I was already in the area. I heard they can get busy fast so I was there at 10:30 roughly 30 minutes before opening. There was already someone else first in line waiting which wasn't bad until right before opening when a bunch of their friends showed up and essentially skipped the line that got much longer as time went on. This is nothing against the business but it was annoying since they took longer to order because what started as 1 person in line before me at 10:30 turned into a group of 5 or 6 as the restaurant opened. However, even with that slight annoyance, the food and service were good. I'll admit that I was a little skeptical after seeing some pictures online about the portions that looked smaller but they actually looked bigger in person. I ordered a beef rib as well as the 2-3 person tray and added a sausage to try almost everything since I'm never in that area and wasn't sure if I'd be back anytime soon. Most of the meat was good flavor wise but I'll admit the pork ribs and beef rib were tougher for me to chew compared to other places. There were plenty of leftovers as I only tried a few bites of everything before packing it up and bringing it back to my family. My biggest issue with this place, as well as most other BBQ places in the Sacramento area, is their pricing. One single beef rib was $40 and the tray for 2-3 people was $55. The sausage was $7 so I spent over $100 to try a little bit of everything. Meanwhile, at somewhere else like Bear West BBQ, I could get a 4 meat tray with 2 sides and cornbread for less than $40. Speaking of cornbread, I'm surprised it wasn't included with any of the trays here although I got a piece of blueberry cornbread in substitution for one of their desserts which was nice of them to let me do. Another annoying issue is they're only open for a few hours from late morning to early afternoon Friday through Sunday. I'm sure they make enough money during those limited hours based on the overwhelming hype and support I've seen for them online. But if you aren't there well before they open, expect to wait in a ridiculously long line with the risk of certain items running out. Overall, I'd say I enjoyed the food I had here. However, between the higher prices, long lines and limited hours, I probably won't be in a rush or make a special trip just to come back here. I might just stick with a single item plate next time after being able to try almost everything else today and not needing to do that again in the future.

Believe the hype! This is easily some of the best barbecue you can get in the greater Sacramento area. From the crack of the sausage casing to the, perfect amount of tenderness on the ribs to the moistness of the brisket this is barbecue done right. There was a line out the door but things moved quickly. It took us maybe 15 minutes to reach the front of the line and it was only another minute or two before we had our food. The interior is sparsely decorated hut is buzzing with energy. Happy customers and helpful staff create a great vibe. I will absolutely be back.

I have heard good things about this place for a while and finally had a chance to check it out. They are only open Friday through Sunday from 11 AM to around 2 or 3 PM, but the wait was definitely worth it. We ordered the Tray for 2-3, which comes with 1/2 pound of brisket, 1/2 pound of pork ribs, 1/4 pound of sliced turkey, two sides, and a dessert for $55. The sliced turkey was moist and flavorful. The pork ribs were very good as well, and the brisket was my favorite. For the sides, we ordered the cornbread and mac and cheese. The cornbread was pretty standard, next time I might upgrade to the blueberry cornbread. The mac and cheese was very good, much better than a basic mac and cheese you get at some other places. The tray was very filling and easily fed me, my wife, and my son. They also offer a variety of sauces that you can try. My wife liked their mild sauce, while I preferred the sweet barbecue sauce. Although the meats were very good, even without the sauces. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed, and the staff are friendly and helpful. I'll be coming back here again.

Stopped by Belly Barbecue in Folsom around noon on a busy weekend. The place is small and fills up fast--the line was out the door when we arrived--but it moved quickly, and we found a table easily once we had our trays. We ordered the pork ribs, pork belly, and brisket, and all three were excellent. The ribs had great flavor and tender texture, the pork belly was rich and well-smoked, and the brisket was juicy with solid smoke. Sides were strong too--mac and cheese was creamy and very good (our 5-year-old loved it and finished his ribs quickly), and the slaw was fresh and crunchy.

I finally got to try Belly BBQ. The store is a decent size and staff was super friendly. The owner even came out to greet us and ask us about the food. I got the Serves 2-3 and it definitely made all 3 of us content with the add on of a sausage. The store itself got super busy right when it opened at 11am so I can see it is a crowd favorite. Brisket - I got all fatty and would definitely recommend that route! It was tender Pork belly - held its shape, good smoke, and good flavor Sausage - I got the regular since I don't like spice and it was a bit dry. It had a decent smoke flavor but did not stand out. Pork Rib - the crust was a tad salty. It was also a little dry and tough. Pecan Bar - sweet, buttery pecan flavor. Felt one dimensional Overall, it was not bad but would not go out of my way to get it again. I would want to give it a solid 3.5 stars if I could.

This has become my son's favorite BBQ place in a 50mile radius. And since he prefers not to eat alone, I love tagging along. The brisket was perfect, the Mac and cheese was good and the cornbread was very good. The line can be long when they first open, but the service line is very efficient and they get through the line quickly. The portion size is just about absolutely perfect. I ordered the tray for one with mac & cheese as my side and ordered an extra piece of cornbread. The key here is to eat and get out since there are usually people waiting for your table. If you're coming here to sit and talk with friends for a while, this probably is not the place for you.

We found this place while doing our blood work from Quest next door. When we went, their brisket was sold out so we were bummed that we didn't get to try one of their best popular meat. We end up ordering the tray with pork ribs, beef ribs, turkey, mac and cheese, blueberry cornbread, and a chocolate cookie. Our favorites were the beef ribs and blueberry cornbread. The beef ribs fall off the bone and the cornbread was super moist inside and not dry at all. Staffs were all super friends and helpful.

Service is a 10/10. Everyone was sooooo nice. 7/10 Sauces we really good The rest 1/10 - I must have caught them on a bad day. Meat (Ribs) was salty nearing pickling saltiness. Tried the one and could not eat the other. Cornbread was flat not a soft fluffy version that usually is Cornbread especially for extra price. Found out about this place on social media. Besides Tank House, I haven't found good bbq in Sacramento so I had to try out Belly bbq. We tried it all. Ribs, turkey, sausage (regular and spicy), pork belly, brisket, collards, Mac n Cheese, beans, cornbread (regular and blueberry), and the coleslaw. Everything was delicious. Meat were juicy and flavorful. Sides were all good but the collards and blueberry cornbread were exceptional. The staff was friendly and attentive. The owner even stopped by our table to thank us for coming in. Overall experience was 9/10 and the only thing preventing a 10/10 was I can't stay there forever I will say, get there early because the line is crazy and the meats are served until sold out. BEST American BBQ in Folsom (or dare I say in the Sacramento!). We heard so many good things about Belly BBQ and they were all true! We tried almost everything on the menu and they were all very tasty. Don't forget to get the pickled onion to cut the heaviness of the meat. Everytime we had guests coming to Folsom, we always went here when the restaurant is open (they only open on the weekends: Friday to Sunday). All our guests agreed that Belly BBQ is a legit delicious BBQ place! One time, the chef (who was very friendly and humble) greeted us and we 'complained' on the restaurant's limited opening hours but also praised him on how good everything was! The next time we visited again, he still remembered us! - brisket: my favorite! The meat was always tender. The char gave smoky flavor to the meat. The burnt ends were very good - not too burnt but had intense smokiness. - pork ribs: yum! The meat was tender and the rub spices seeped through the meat. - sausage: I usually avoid ordering sausage at BBQ place but their sausage was super good! Full of meat, intense flavor, smoky, and perfectly cooked. - coleslaw: if you like peppery coleslaw and not slathered with mayo, this would be perfect. For me, it was a bit too peppery but I still order it every time I came here. - cornbread: our favorite sides. It actually tasted like corn and always moist. - collard green: perfectly cooked & not mushy. The tangy soup cuts the heaviness from the meat. - cheesy grits: very creamy and cheesy! My fiancée and I shared the 2-3 person platter and the food lived up to all the hype! The turkey was very juicy and flavorful. We loved the blueberry cornbread and pecan bar for our sweet treats. Mom wanted brisket. So I had to do some research into where to get some good brisket and Belly kept coming up. So we made the plan to order for pickup but unfortunately that was offline. Onto the backup plan and we drove up to Folsom from Natomas and got there in time for opening on Sunday. We got the parking lot 5 minutes after they opened and there was already a line to the door. The line moved pretty quickly. We went for 2 of trays that feed 2-3 people, a beef rib and the spicy sausage. For the sides we got corn bread, the beans, the Brunswick stew and the cheesy grits. For dessert we got the pecan pie and banana pudding. The restaurant is not very big but there were plenty of tables if you wanted to eat there. The staff were very helpful and their system is efficient. Now for the food- at first I was a little shell shocked at the price but after having consumed most of everything, it was worth it! We were eating family style so they offered to put everything in one tray for us. I'm always a fan of pork ribs and brisket but the real star for me was the beef rib. It was huge and juicy and meaty! The brisket was great and the pork ribs were tender and tasty, I didn't even need any sauce. As for the sides, my husband wasn't a fan of the grits just because they were alot more coarse than he expected. The beans and the Brunswick stew were big hits but the corn bread was a little dry for my taste. I am for sure going to be coming back for more beef ribs! read more

I almost didn't want to post a review on this place--not because it isn't amazing, but because I don't want the line to get any longer when I go. But truthfully, they have the best BBQ I've ever had in California. The inside of Belly BBQ is clean and well lit and not too hot which can be an issue in some BBQ places. I went with my friend and we got the tray that feeds 2-3 people. If you go with someone with a big appetite, order your own tray because you'll regret not having any leftovers! Now let's talk about the food--everything was flavorful and delicious from the brisket to the greens to the beans. If I had to choose one thing I wasn't raving about, it would be the mac and cheese, I like more of a baked mac and cheese, but that's just my personal preference. The staff were super friendly and the owner even came out and spoke to everyone to thank them for coming. Everyone that works here did a great job making sure you felt welcome from the time you came in to the time you left. I'll definitely be back!! read more

Had an amazing meal to go! The team greeted us on entry and was very cordial throughout the ordering & check out process. Beef Rib and brisket were delicious, but my favorite out of the two was the beef rib. Ordered a 6oz. Mac and cheese on the side, and picked up some of their free picked onions and pickles- wonderful pairing with the meat. The owner Marcus was so gracious and stood by his bbq. I highly recommend this place. Only good bbq in Sacramento county. I didn't dine in and although it was cozy, there was a good amount of seating. read more

WHY WE WENT HERE: - lunch - fiance can't pass up an opportunity for brisket THE LOOK (FROM THE OUTSIDE): - located in a plaza off Prairie City Rd and Willard Dr - the logo is very interesting (modern/minimal); if it didn't have BBQ in the name, I wouldn't have thought it was a BBQ spot THE LOOK (FROM THE INSIDE): - small but busy! - you fall in line to order and either dine-in or take it to-go - when you're in line you'll see on the wall a traffic light indication of the menu items; it shows what's available, running low, or what they're out of - it's almost cafeteria line-esque; once you're up you tell them what you're ordering; it's a carving station, then sides served up, and ends ultimately with the cashier to pay THE MENU: - protein - sides - dessert - trays WHAT WE ORDERED: - feeds 2-3 tray with mac n cheese and collard greens and chess cake (I wasn't sure if it's a misspelling that's meant to be cheesecake? or if it's really chess cake) - beef rib tray with baked beans and cheesy grits and pecan pie bar * you get 2 complimentary original bbq sauce, 2 complimentary spicy bbq sauce, and a mini tray of sliced dill pickles and pickled onions THE TASTE: - brisket - fiance said it was good, he'd get it again - pork ribs - good - turkey - very moist! especially when dipped in the butter sauce - mac n cheese - good, like the seasoning - collard greens - good - chess cake - if it IS a cheesecake, it's very thin and dense, almost has a brownie top; sweet - beef rib - very tender; parts of it the outer part were a punch of salt though - baked beans - different flavor, some of the beans were hard though - cheesy grits - would NOT recommend; almost gray, not fluffy, very gritty - pecan pie bar - super sweet! loved it though! a bit of preface to my review, I had seen Belly in an Instagram post and immediately became a follower sight unseen. They started with an invitation only "soft opening" which I didn't make. Belly was still on my radar,but I kept hearing things like major lines and running out of food. The lines can be a good sign but as this restaurant can be a 40 minutes drive from my house I would have to wait. It took almost a year but my dutiful girlfriend said we could go to Belly Barbecue if I went with her to get her nails done. I happily complied as the restaurant was a stones throw from the nail salon. The menu was very simple an uncomplicated, something I truly enjoy. They had a few choices, there were the staples you could order individually, like Beef or Pork Ribs, Brisket, Pork Belly, sausages and Turkey and the combination platters like the feeds 1 with 1/2lb Pork Ribs OR Turkey OR plus $2 more for 1/2lb brisket feeds (which is what I got) and so forth. I got the brisket and the Mac and Cheese on the side, my girlfriends got the pork belly. The brisket was amazing and so was the Pork Belly which I tried from my girlfriends plate. My Mac and Cheese side was great as well, making me anxious to try all the various meats and sides. Do I dare proclaim (as others have already echoed) a new Barbecue champ in the Sacramento area, I say yes. One postscript, no soon had I finished my first plate then I got back in line for a to-go order for the Feeds 2 to 3 1/2 lb Brisket 1/2 lb Pork Ribs 1/4 lb Turkey Breast 2 sides Dessert . I think my initial takeaway is that while I normally wouldn't gravitate towards turkey outside of Thanksgiving, the tender love and care this place put into their bird was surprising. I mean wow. Just wow! My brother drove 45 minutes to try this place out. It didn't disappoint! We got the tray for 2 people- includes ribs, brisket, turkey 2 sides and a dessert. From the food to the hospitality, this place is a true blessing in our area. I've been craving authentic, top-notch BBQ for ages, and they absolutely delivered. Food is excellent, ordered a plate for 2-3 when it was only be and my 8 year old daughter so we could try everything! Turkey was juicy and moist without being overly brined and rubbery. Brisket was phenomenal, it was cooked perfect, I usually trim some of the fat away but the fat was rendered so good that it was delicious included. The pork ribs seasoning was really good, if there was any critique it would be on the way the pork ribs were cut, not a lot of meet and the end had some meat in between all the bone and cartilage. They were cooked perfectly! We had the blueberry corn muffin and it was perfect, I would go back just for this it was a meal in itself. Spoke with the owner for a few minutes as he walked around checking on people, great guy, very personable and accommodating. I'm rooting for this place, it was great. read more

You found it, the best BBQ in Folsom for sure and my favorite in the entire Sac area. We made our own plate to share: brisket, spicy sausage, pork ribs, collard greens, grits, corn bread.. and a pineapple flavored Fanta. Service was great! The owner popped by to check on us, great guy. Smells great inside and there was a tv on to catch the playoffs. Vibrant atmosphere. We loved it. Highly recommend everything we had. Seen this place on a social media app and I was in the area so decided to try it out. Usually I'm a little skeptical if I don't see any bbq pit outside smoking the meats but everyone does it different right. This place is located in a place lots of parking. Arrived close to opening and it was alrdy a line by the door. Good thing I liked about this place is that they are fast. They got so many workers so they are getting you in and out of there quick. They have many options to choose from depending on the size of your party. Went with the 2-3 person plate and got the ribs, brisket and the turkey, I was surprised it came with all 3, such a good deal. Also got two sides and went with Mac and cheese and the coleslaw and added a side of blueberry corn bread and collard greens. Everything was so delicious even their hot sauce. Usually I feel so full and heavy from eating bbq but I was surprised that this bbq didn't make me feel this way and felt light to me. The plate also comes with a dessert and opted for the banana pudding and that was delicious as well! The owner came around asking how things were at tables and I thought that was great. We came in for a late lunch on a Saturday (around 1:40pm), and from previous reviews we were nervous that they'd be sold out of a lot of items. There was plenty of parking and as we walked in we were greeted by the delicious smell of bbq as well as the staff there. There was a line when we arrived, but it moved quickly and gave us time to decide what we were going to order. They were out of the beef ribs when we got there, but they had everything else and we took advantage by ordering a lot. We got 1 lb of brisket ($36/lb), 1/2 lb of chopped pork ($30/lb), 1/2 lb of pork ribs ($30/lb), and we got the Brunswick stew ($6 for 8oz) and cheesy grits ($6 for 8oz) as our sides, they also gave us pickled onions and pickle slices and offered white bread to go with it. They ended up making our order into a combo and then adding on the additional weight of food outside what the combo would be to save us some money and that got us a dessert along with the combo. We opted for the pecan pie bar. They have regular and hot bbq sauces and we thought they were great mixed together too. They also have a water dispenser if you'd prefer water over soda with your food. The food was so good! The brisket and brisket burnt ends were tender, flavorful and had some good fatty parts (I like a fatty brisket). The chopped pork was also flavorful and moist and had a good chop to it for great flavor and texture. The pork ribs were cooked well and easy to eat off the bone. The sides we got were a great combo- the cheesy grits on its own was very good but a spoonful of cheesy grits with the Brunswick stew was so good! The Brunswick stew is made of bbq along with veggies and other ingredients and cooks down for two days to create the amazing melding of flavors. I highly recommend this, especially paired with the grits (but they're very good separate too). The pecan pie bar was a great finish to the meal. It was sweet and crunchy and you could really taste and enjoy all the flavors together. A real treat. While we were eating the owner, Marcus, went around to each table to thank them for coming in, check on them, and he even brought out some collard greens for people to try if they didn't order them. We learned these are cooked in a broth they make out of the bones and the flavor of the collard greens and the broth was delicious. We ended up going back up to buy more sides and pecan pie bars to share with our neighbors (because they'd love this spot too) and within the 40ish minutes we had been chatting and eating they sold out of cheesy grits, but we managed to get some more Brunswick stew and pecan pie bars. Now, the plan is to go early for our next visit to try the beef ribs and bring some friends to try everything with us. The restaurant isn't huge, but there are plenty of tables, with four tops, two tops and some places for families or slightly larger groups. We also noticed a lot of people were taking large orders to go. Absolutely worth a try, and you might be back sooner than you think, it's so good! read more

I'll be honest. I was never impressed by Texas-style BBQ. Until now. I went to big famous places in Texas, and was saddened to try out their meats and find them too dry. Now I get it. This place's bbq has a great crusty exterior, but juicy, flavorful meat inside. We got in line before they opened (thank you for the free bottled water for the heat!) and enjoyed the $55 meal for 2-3, but added more brisket as well as pork belly and cornbread to the mix. The food was very good some of the best barbecue. The brisket was so tender. The ribs were some of the best I have had. The turkey was tender. The quality of the meat is superb. The mac and cheese very good. The greens were cooked to perfection. I decided to try the brunswick stew and I feel like that might be an acquired taste kind of thing. This was very good quality food. The service was fine we showed up early to make sure we didn't get caught up in the craziness since this place closes once they run out of food. Now the reason why I didn't give them 5 stars is because the price and the portion is a little absurd. I don't know where to start. I've been wanting to try this place since they opened and been sending people their way every time someone asked for a bbq recommendation. Nothing but solid feed back every time. Since I was in the area today I decided now was the time. Place was packed but still got a seat. The price is reasonable as bbq goes but the price didn't matter. I ordered a half pound of brisket and pork belly, Mac and cheese , baked beans, coleslaw, corn bread and a pecan square. The brisket was very tender and had excellent flavor. Nice Smokey taste but not too much, just right. The pork belly was tender as well and the Bourbon Pear glaze was amazing. Highly recommend that. The baked beans in my opinion were . Best baked beans I've ever had at a bbq restaurant. The coleslaw, Mac and cheese and core bread was aight. Nothing to write home about but it was good. Now the pecan square was amazing as well. You would think it would be overly sweet like some pecan pies but it was just perfect. The place was very clean and the service was quick and they were very attentive. The owner was walking and talking to people making sure their eating experience was as pleasurable as the food. I was introduced to Belly Bbq through Oakhouse Bbq. I decided to try it and have been back several times. The staff is super friendly as well as a gentleman named Marcus. I've had the pulled pork brisket Mac n cheese and pork belly. One day Marcus let me try a piece of their blueberry cornbread and it was OFF THE HOOK. It's a smaller shop so due to its population gets packed early. I usually try and get there when they open. Probably the best BBQ I've had since I've lived in the Sacramento region. Wow, just wow. This is my new favorite BBQ spot in the area. The pork belly was perfect, and came with an amazing apple (I think?) sauce to dip it in that was a game changer. The brisket burnt ends were also fantastic. The team working the counter was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient, moving through the line quickly while taking the time to answer each customer's questions and make sure they got exactly what they wanted. I LOVE and HATE Belly BBQ so much! Marcus is a solid pit master, which makes me doubt my ability to smoke meat myself. I can't even argue that it's his job to be this good because this is his weekend gig/hobby. Dude works full time as an engineer and then spends his weekend smoking meats and serving his community. What a jerk! Jokes aside, Belly BBQ really is outstanding. My wife and I have already eaten through the entire menu after 2 visits. She has declared it's better than Franklin BBQ out in Texas (I haven't been so I will refrain from making such bombastic statements!) Out of what we've had I would definitely put them in this order: bourbon pear pork belly, beef rib, brisket, smoked turkey, pork ribs, pulled pork, and house sausage. His beef rib and brisket are stellar with the right amount of fatty melt in your mouth experience, but good lord is that pork belly good! DO. NOT. SKIP. THE. COLLARD GREENS! That is if they still have it available. Marcus said that it's one of the first menu items to sell out. We were talking and he told me that in order to make the collard greens he does a 24-hour pork bone broth similar to making a ramen broth. The flavors are deep, rich and porky. For anyone in the Sac area decrying the drive out to Belly BBQ, just do it! The restaurant is a little small, but it's clean and everyone working is lovely! Ok so we were finally able to try this rather new hotspot and WOW soooo glad we did!! The best brisket, pork ribs, smoked turkey, sausage and sides that I've ever had!! Melt in your mouth Brisket! This guy knows how to smoke! It was a Sunday and the line was to the door! But they have a great system with plenty of staff to move the line along. Imma start by saying I am not a meats person, but my husband is. We're not from the area and were looking for a bite to eat. I said "bbq! We almost never eat it". People, let me tell you if you walk and don't run to this place you're slacking. They're open until 4pm OR until they're sold out. The meat is DECADENT and not a single dry bite was had, not even the bread. We shared a tray that serves 1 with 2 sides: spicy sausage, brisket, grits and their Brunswick stew which was more than enough! Mark is the owner and he goes out of his way to come up to everyone eating to check in on them and offer free samples. I highly suggest to take him up on that offer! I now truly, truly understand why Southern cooking is known as comfort food and why people take barbecuing so seriously. However when I walked over to get the California Gold BBQ Sauce and I tested that, WHOA!! It immediately hits you in the back of the throat. After waiting for about 4 or 5 minutes the waitress came over with our food. She presented my wife with her Tri-Tip Tacos and then to me with my Pulled Pork Tacos. As soon as I took a bite out of my Pulled Pork Tacos, you could taste the chewiness of the meat because it was so tender. My wife and I then swapped 1 Taco each and after I took a bite out of her Tri-Tip Taco, it then mirrored the same tenderness and taste of the Pulled Pork. It was soft and when I poured the Buckhorn BBQ Sauce on it, it actually added more flavor to the taste of the Tri-Tip the same of my Pulled Pork. I then tried the Strawberry Dragonfruit Lemonade and while I wasn't a big fan of that I decided to just change to Mango Lemonade which was very good as well. Thank you Buckhorn for such a great experience. Oh yeah, when they brought out the Bavarian Pretzel and the Buckhorns Beer Cheese.. WOW!! The size of the Pretzel caught my eye but it was very good as well. And while we spent a good chunk of change, everything here was very well worth it. Definitely a 5 Star place because the food and the BBQ are most certainly ON POINT!

We ordered a double down plate $26: two 7oz protein choices with cole slaw on brioche and an 8 oz side choice. Brisket and pulled pork were our protein choices with and potato salad. We bought another side, macaroni salad. We requested that the pulled pork be placed on the side and additional sauce. I dislike being that customer with persnickety preferences. But we were, and they didn't blink an eye. Super accommodating. The pulled pork had a deep smoky flavor. Tender shredded pieces. Mmm. The sauce was served on the side. That too was delicious. Hubs had the brisket and wolfed that down before I could swipe a piece. Darn. The potato salad was tasty. Slightly tangy, which I really liked. The place is family owned and operated. It's a sports bar and family friendly bbq joint. Giving off family friendly vibes. But hey, a bar and family friendly? Yes. They both co-exist harmoniously. Talking about sports. The TVs of course are tuned onto sports. All of the screens are strategically placed throughout. I ordered two halo halo desserts, two combos, the cassava dessert, upgraded the rice to garlic rice, two orders of lumpia, and picked up a couple of calamansi drinks and garlic peanuts as a snick snack. Total bill plus tip was over $100. The menu changes every day, which I think is interesting. And every Sunday they serve lechon for $18 a pound. Check out their Facebook page for updates in case I got this information wrong. For the food, I had half pancit and half rice. I had adobo chicken, butter chicken, and two pork dishes that I don't remember the name. I like that the pork had a good combo of fat and lean meats. I wish I could've eaten it there but we had lunch and then decided to stop here. I felt like the food being warmed up after sitting in the fridge for a bit, It kind of made all of the entrées taste similar to each other. Next time I will vary my order, like I'll get a saucey dish, a sour soup, and a bbq skewer. All in all the food tasted very homey and delicious. It's heavily seasoned. I can see myself ordering lumpia and pancit to a party. Can't wait to go back and try their lechon and pork belly.

The pricing was decent (slightly cheaper than other Hawaiian food spots), the interior was clean and well-kept, and I appreciated the designated sauce station on top of having sauces at each table for convenience. To top it all off, the Pineapple Dole Whip was the perfect dessert as it was light, refreshing, and such a great finishing touch. Another big thing to note is that they offer Musubi Mondays, where you can get 50% off musubis. My husband immediately noticed the sign for it in the front of the store and was so excited. We thought how it was such a sweet deal that we are already considering coming back on a Monday just for that to stock up on musubis to eat at home. However, there is a max of 2 orders per customer for the Musubi Monday deal, but still totally worth it to try. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is purely because of portion size compared to other Hawaiian places. The spam musubis are also a bit small in size compared to other places that make spam musubi but the teriyaki sauce that goes with it makes it better! That said, the quality, taste, and overall experience definitely make up for it! This is officially going to be our new go-to spot for Hawaiian food moving forward, and we're excited to come back again soon!

What made it even more frustrating was watching other tables receive far more attention while we were constantly overlooked. To top it all off, the bill for just four people came out to around $180. For that price, I expect much better service and a much better overall experience. Instead, we spent most of the night trying to get someone's attention. Honestly, the robot they have serving food showed more consistency, manners, and awareness than most of the staff. For the amount of money you're paying, the service is unacceptable. I won't be coming back, and this was easily the worst OZ KBBQ experience I've had! What a shame...

We tried the pork ribs, brisket, and both regular and spicy sausages, and every bite was pure perfection. The pork ribs literally fall off the bone, packed with bold, smoky flavor and seasoned to absolute perfection. The brisket? Unreal. So tender and juicy, you won't even need a knife--it practically melts in your mouth. And the sausages, made in-house, are bursting with flavor, whether you go for the regular or the spicy. The sides were just as impressive. The mac & cheese was unbelievably creamy, gooey, and rich--easily the best I've ever had. And don't even get me started on the cornbread--moist, buttery, and the perfect complement to the smoky meats. Beyond the food, the customer service is top-tier. Belly BBQ is a hidden gem in Folsom that truly delivers on authentic Texas-style barbecue. Despite their limited operating hours (only Friday through Sunday), it's absolutely worth planning your weekend around a visit. From the time you walk in, the smell of smoked meats hits you, and sets high expectations that the food completely meets. I ordered the Tray to feed 1 with brisket and mac and cheese, while my wife got the same with cheesy grits - both were exceptional. What stands out beyond the excellent food is the genuine family atmosphere. Everyone working there had a warmth and hospitality that makes you feel like you're at a family gathering rather than a restaurant. A gentleman who I believe was the owner stopped by our table, chatted with us, and even brought us a complimentary sample of their Brunswick Stew to try with the cheesy grits. The quality of the barbecue ranks among the best I've had, including establishments I've visited in Texas. The brisket was tender and flavorful, and the sides complemented the meats perfectly. If I could give this place 10 stars, I absolutely would. The employees here are incredibly genuine and truly put their customers first. My wife and I drove quite a distance to try this place for the first time. Unfortunately, by the time we arrived, they had sold out of almost everything and were preparing to close. We were disappointed, but what happened next completely surprised us. The manager and his staff went above and beyond. Not only did they give us multiple sides and desserts, but they also packed us a huge tray of food. Their goal was to make sure we didn't leave hungry or disappointed--even though we were only there for about 10 minutes. I insisted on paying or at least tipping the staff, but the manager kindly told us it was on the house. Considering how challenging it is to run a business, especially in today's economy, this level of generosity was truly unexpected. My wife and I are incredibly grateful. REAL DEAL!!!! Belly BBQ ain't no joke. I grew up in the Bay Area during the time of Everette & Jones as well as Flints (both in Oakland). So I know BBQ. Let me tell you that Belly easily lives up and goes beyond the hype. It's not just a BBQ restaurant, it's an Experience. We went on a Sunday and it was a steady line and crowd the whole time. But don't worry, the line moves quick. ALL the meats sliced right there in front of you. The juices and the smoke literally staring you right in the face. Perfectly prepared and presented. The menu is rock solid. Everything you need is there and it's all done RIGHT! I could go on and on with what I ordered or how incredible it was but just LOOK AT MY PICS! Inside is wonderful. Super clean. People are fun. 80's and 90's RB (think Luther Vandros and Anita Baker). Giant screen playing sports but you'll be too into the food to look up. Haha. The people there are special too. The owner / grill master (I'm assuming) was going around and greeting every table. He appreciates his customers. He's thanking them and being real with them. Family is important. Pitt Master Marcus is an undeniable maestro of barbecue, and his Belly BBQ is poised to become a must-visit spot in Northern California. The beef brisket is a perfect 10/10--tender and melt-in-your-mouth delicious, with expertly rendered fat and a mouthwatering bark. The pork ribs are equally impressive, perfectly tender yet firm enough to provide a satisfying chew. But the true showstopper is the beef rib: a colossal, rich cut that practically falls off the bone while retaining its juiciness. The bark is bursting with flavor, while still allowing the deep beef essence to shine through. I'll be making Saturday trips just for that beef rib! As for the sides, the collard greens were cooked to perfection--juicy with just the right balance of tang and bitterness, not mushy in the slightest. The cornbread was moist and subtly sweet, complementing the meal beautifully. Overall, this was one of the best BBQ experiences I've ever had--certainly the best in California, and perhaps anywhere. read more

Oh my goodness this is actually tough to say because the people were very professional and very nice. But unfortunately people don't know this and think it's a taste that is supposed to be and that's lighter fluid. Me and my husband ordered a whole tray of stuff and I literally took a piece of the brisket and couldn't eat it due to the lighter fluid taste all in my mouth. It was so strong. And then as o tasted everything else same thing. The pork belly was so salty. We had sides of Mac and cheese it had an interesting taste not sure how to explain , baked beans were good and cheesy grits. But unfortunately we threw away all that meat especially that beef rib . Well thanks for the experience but kinda sad to wait in that long line for that. read more

We stopped by Belly BBQ this past Saturday with a party of 8 and decided to order the entire menu! No regrets! Everything was amazing, from the juicy brisket to the tender ribs and flavorful spicy sausage. Every bite was packed with smoky goodness. The sides were just as memorable. The mac and cheese, the grits, and especially the collard greens were all perfect. You could tell everything was made with care and love. AND we can't forget the desserts; the banana pudding and the pecan pie were out of this world. Honestly, the perfect way to end the meal. My Fiancé and I have seen the Belly BBQ logo for at least a few weeks now and have been anticipating its opening. We were outside in the car and could already smell the AMAZING traditional smokey aroma of BBQ coming from the kitchen. When we walked in, it was a sensation overload of wonderful smells and a kind, warm welcoming. We were met by Marcus, who could not have made us feel more at home. The food is fantastic, and we finally found our go-to BBQ joint. We are SOOOOOO excited to come back and try the entire menu and hope to be greeted by Marcus again. read more

Wow - finally some incredible barbecue on the West Coast! We tried the beef rib, pork belly, and brisket, and every bite was phenomenal. The meat was incredibly moist, tender, and packed with smoky flavor. For sides, we went with the cheesy grits and collard greens, both were delicious.
