Man do I wish there was a zero rating! Do not go to this restaurant. If you are suffering from starvation, do not go to this restaurant. If there is a blackout in Buckhead and there is only one restaurant open, Benihana, do not go. You will wait for hours as the wait staff tells you it will only be another "15 minutes" and, when you finally realized they either have no food or no chefs at Benihana, you will leave just as starving as you came. We have been to this place twice now about a year apart with a reservation time that was not honored on either occasion. The first dining experience took about 4.5 hours. Tonight, after waiting about an hour after our reservation and being told "just 15 more minutes." we left just as starving as we came. Judging by all these other reviews, we made the right choice. STAY FAR AWAY.

I've been a long-time Benihana customer, but mainly back at home in Houston. This is one of the first times I've come to the Benihana here in Atlanta. I've always sat at the hibachi tables, but this time since I was dining solo and needed to be in/out fairly quick, I decided to sit at the bar. The man running the bar was pretty efficient, despite being busy. He was always moving - cleaning, taking orders, pouring drinks, serving food - he never stopped working hard. Even though my order was taken promptly, the kitchen must've been very backed up because it took a hot hot minute for my food to come out. My steak entree was fantastic - they definitely used a lot of the garlic butter heh - not great for the body, but very tasty. My shrimp on the other hand was quite a let down compared to the steak. The portion size is clearly smaller, and it wasn't as flavorful as the steak. Something I do appreciate about the lunch entrees is that it comes with vegetable fried rice. One small gripe is that Benihana is quite pricey. I think the lunch prices are okay, but I've seen the dinner prices and it's steep. AYCE level prices, but for an entree. Ultimately, the high price point, the fairly slow service, and the disappointing shrimp is what brings my experience down a few stars.

I have not been to Benihana in at least 10 years, and I hope that I will not return for another 10 years or more. I went for a friend's birthday, so I had to appease the birthday girl. Nothing has changed, at least for the better, since my last visit. The chefs are less talented than they used to be and the prices have skyrocketed. The only positive change is a tofu/vegetarian entree option. Be ready to pay at least $65 for any meal, unless you get the tofu which is $35. Fried rice will incur an upcharge though. Our chef literally only did one "trick" which was making the heart of rice beat. Very sad show. We had a reservation but still had to wait an exceptionally long time to get the food service started. I gave them 2 vs 1 stars because the food actually tasted good and the portion was large. The menu states "dipping sauces". We were only given yum yum sauce. When I mentioned it, the chef asked if we wanted ginger sauce too. We shouldn't have to ask but pretty sure we should've also gotten teriyaki and/or soy sauce as well. I also mentioned that we didn't get a show, at the end after preparing everyone's meal, then the chef did the onion ring of fire and attempted to do the choo-choo train but the train lost steam before it left the station and definitely fell off the tracks (fell apart) when he tried to move it. Such a disappointing time.

The temperature (87) inside the restaurant.

Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Unbearable Dining Conditions and Customer Service I arrived with a party of 15 guests to celebrate a very special occasion: a student who was recently awarded a $25,000 scholarship, along with her birthday. We were looking forward to celebrating this significant accomplishment together. Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by the unbearable heat inside the restaurant. The temperature in the establishment was so excessive that our drinks were visibly melting, and guests were perspiring through their clothing. The conditions were extremely uncomfortable and, quite frankly, unacceptable for a restaurant of Benihana's reputation and price point. The photograph accompanying this complaint clearly illustrates the conditions we were experiencing, including the excessive condensation on our drinks. I personally spoke with Manager Meisha and Manager Kenny, as well as our chef, Omar, regarding the temperature. I was particularly concerned to learn that this is apparently an ongoing issue. I was told that corporate is aware of the problem and that it occurs every year. Chef/wait staff stated that the restaurant is cold in the winter and hot in the summer. Kenny also told us that we had the option to either stay or leave. While I understand that unforeseen facility issues can occur, telling a party of 15 guests that our only options were to stay or leave was extremely disappointing. We had made plans to celebrate an important milestone for a deserving student, and leaving was not a realistic or reasonable option at that point. We should not have been placed in the position of having to choose between abandoning our celebration or enduring unacceptable dining conditions. Additionally, I was very disappointed by the pricing. Given the prices charged at this Benihana location, the overall experience did not come close to meeting the level of service and comfort that customers should reasonably expect. I have experienced hibachi restaurants in Smyrna and Dallas, Georgia, and the pricing and overall value at those establishments make the cost at Benihana particularly difficult to justify--especially when customers are expected to dine in such uncomfortable conditions.

We chose Benihana to celebrate my baby's 10th birthday, and overall it was a great experience. Chef JoJo was engaging and talented, and the food was exactly what we hoped for, well-seasoned steak and shrimp, tasty rice, and fresh vegetables cooked perfectly at the table. Our server Denzel was awesome friendly, attentive, and kept things running smoothly once we were seated. The service itself was very good; however, the wait time was long (as ever), so definitely expect that, especially if you're going during peak hours or for a celebration. That said, the lively atmosphere and interactive cooking made it worth it, and my daughter truly enjoyed herself. If you're planning a birthday or special occasion, Benihana is a fun, reliable option just arrive with patience or plan ahead for the wait.

Chef OD made our experience great we love him good food amazing time! Went for lunch special

We had a reservation for 3:15p, and did not get seated until almost 5pm, then waiting at the table for the cook for over 30mins, did not get a server for almost 15mins. Bar drink took even longer. High chair broken buckle. Honestly would not come back.

    The place

This place is horrible we hade made reservations, came in and it's packed so we couldn't be seated so we wait and we see a table for 4 with only two people sitting there and we were confused why we couldn't just take the chairs a lady is going to say because they were there first but if there not using it why can't we just put them to use so we left no one gave us an menu or assisted us.

Just to be clear this is not a spot you would go to watch a game or bring a large party so don't do that lol. The parking lot that they have is very small so keep that in mind. You can see signs that point to around the neighborhood, which is around the corner. It's in a strip mall so it shares a lot with a few other places. It's not surprising that the lot is going to be full of homeless people if you try to go. When you come in, you have to wait until you're seated and once you get greeted it's usually pretty cool. Everybody else is pretty friendly and they keep coming up to the table to make sure you're good. Well that was my first time experience at least. Handmade gyoza - the gyoza was really good and it had a very savory flavor and taste to it. It felt like they were very fresh and they filled them to the brim and you could taste it. I got the pork ones because I wasn't getting tofu lol and they were really really good and I would actually go back for those when I go back. Okonomiyaki - this one is a weird one so it's a pancake type of situation but it's more cabbage than pancake. I'm not sure how I feel about it but it wasn't terrible but it wasn't really good either. Now I will say that the fact that what sent this over was all the sauces that they put on it. I'm not sure what the brown sauce was but at the same time I know that the mayo was basically drenching it as well. You can get one topping on there and the selected topping was steak. The flavor of the sauces and the steak pretty much carried the pancake because it didn't have a lot on its own. I am glad I tried it but I probably would not rush back for this. Karaage - it's fried chicken. It's not like it's anything earth-changing or somebody's auntie or grandma making it but it was pretty decent fried chicken. It came with mayo that you can dip it in but it wasn't anything life changing to me. Japanese curry (steak) - the Japanese curry was good but it was just curry. It wasn't anything that I couldn't get anywhere else at another type of restaurant but it was good and it was savory and it gave me exactly what I needed. When I ordered curry it came with rice, which was also nice that you could use as part of the meal as well, but it was just pretty good curry. Just if you need options... It comes in vegetarian if you want to do that because they have a tofu version as well but I didn't get that at all LOL! Overall I would give this another go but it wasn't a complete five star thing for me. It wasn't bad but at the same time it wasn't life-changing. I'd have to try a couple more things just to make sure. It was worth my time and effort and it will be worth my time to give it another go when I go on that side of town.

Law of supply and demand. But given the elevation in quality of life this establishment has provided me with across the years, I feel I owe them some good marketing through a review. If there was a sushi coefficient of freshness, quality, quantity, and cost, this place wins everyday. C= (Fr*Q*q*c) Fr: 9 Q: 8 q: 10 c: 10 C(Yokohama)= 7200 Don't get me wrong - the competition is fierce for delicious sushi (Fudo, MF sushi, Nobu, all the Omakase scenarios popping up in town). What this means is the cost (c) is way too high, giving it a low 1-5 in the equation. Also, quantity (q) is low, about 4-6. So, the resulting coefficient is very low overall. From my understanding, the fish here only comes from Japan, so it's good stuff - and they really load up the rolls (a lot of the time), and they have this deal on weekend for special rolls (25% off I think). So you do get the quality, quantity, and decent price (about $12-15 per specialty roll). The regular rolls are good too, and loaded with fish. E.g. spicy salmon/tuna. So, if you're looking to go crazy on some good sushi without restraint and without breaking the bank completely, this is your spot. family owned I believe, very nice and efficient service. The Samurai Roll was substantial and I appreciate the generosity of the roll. It was topped with salmon, and usually when rolls are topped with fish, it's usually a pretty thin slice of fish, but these slices of salmon were quite thick in my opinion. The pieces of sushi themselves are also fairly thick - it was a big bite for me to eat each piece in one. I made a reservation in advance and the staff already had my table ready even though I was a little early. The table was already dressed with menus, chopsticks, and some small plates/sauce dishes. We got the sushi and sashimi lunch and a bento box which was enough for 2 adults and a hungry toddler Each lunch comes with soup or salad & both were delicious. They have a mayo-y ginger dressing similar to yum yum sauce. I prefer vinegar based but it was good! The nigiri had a little flair which I love! And everything was so fresh and soft pieces of fish. Very good quality for this price point! Sashimi had some nice cuts & generous pieces & plate presentation was Instagram ready The bento came with California roll, yakitori stick, tons of veggies, fried rice (+$1 but worth), huge portion of meat of choice, and shumai (or gyoza). This is big enough for 2 small eaters or one big eater. Everything was delicious and we were checked on often Their high chairs are clean & staff were pleasant with the toddler They have specials listed at the front door in tiny font I couldn't read from far away & they also sell jewelry it seems I didn't get a pic of the entire menu because it was multiple books and I didn't realize it We'd definitely come back! Plenty of parking in a shared lot

One of the most esthetically pleasing Korean BBQ places I've been to. It's an all you can eat spot with an extensive variety of meats to choose from. The quality of the meats is A1. Don't let me get started on the side options they offer! They provide substantial assortment of sides that are all savory & delectable. On top of the delicious food they also have a full bar available for your enjoyment. They have complementary parking available so no worries about adding an extra cost to the food adventure. If you sit at the tables with a grill it is an "all you can eat" option for everyone at the table only, no exceptions. If you desire to eat from the single meal menu there is bar seating available. There is a two hour limit per table but that is more than enough time to get your fill & moneys worth. Trust me you must go and it would not surprise me if Thrill becomes your new favorite Korean BBQ spot as well. I know it stole my heart and I plan on coming back many times over! Nom nom nom!

I ordered the lo mein with a side of yum yum sauce, and from the first bite, I knew I'd be ordering from here again. The food arrived surprisingly hot, which says a lot about both the restaurant and the delivery service. Everything tasted fresh, the noodles were cooked perfectly, and the flavor was exactly what I was hoping for. The yum yum sauce was a great addition and paired really well with the meal. The portion size was generous--honestly more than I would normally eat in one sitting. But it was one of those meals where I kept telling myself, "Just one more bite," until I realized I'd eaten almost all of it. That's always a good sign. If the lo mein is any indication of the quality of the rest of their menu, I'm excited to come back and try more dishes. Finding a dependable takeout restaurant can be tough, but I think I found one. If you're looking for fresh, flavorful Chinese food with generous portions, The Orient is definitely worth a try.

5/5 stars I was in town for a business trip and decided to…read morestop by The Orient on a Wednesday evening after a long day of meetings. Since I wasn't in the mood to sit down and eat, I went ahead and placed a call-ahead order for their House Lo Mein along with an order of fried chicken wings. The restaurant itself is fairly spacious with a nice, welcoming atmosphere once you step inside. The décor gives off a classic Chinese restaurant vibe that feels comfortable and relaxing. Parking, however, is a bit of a mixed bag. The spots right in front of the building are limited, so I ended up using the extended parking lot, which was a little dark and had that slightly eerie feeling at night -- nothing too wild or dangerous, but definitely not the most well-lit area I've seen. When I arrived to pick up my order, I was pleasantly greeted right at the door by the staff, who provided genuinely friendly and efficient customer service. That warm welcome made the whole pickup process smooth and quick. Once I got back to my hotel room and finally dug into the food, I have to say the House Lo Mein was prepared with fresh ingredients and good quality noodles and vegetables. It wasn't the most outstanding lo mein I've ever tasted in my life -- I've had versions that were more flavorful and better seasoned -- but it certainly wasn't the worst either. I'd honestly describe it as pretty mid-tier: solid, reliable, and worth what I paid for it on that particular evening. The fried chicken wings, on the other hand, really stood out to me. They were extra crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and actually had some noticeable flavor and seasoning, which made them quite enjoyable. All in all, it was a decent and satisfying meal that hit the spot after a tiring day. The portions were generous enough, and the value felt reasonable. I could definitely see myself returning to The Orient sometime in the future if I find myself back in the area and in need of a quick Chinese takeout option. That said, with plenty of other restaurants nearby that offer more affordable prices and bolder flavors, it probably wouldn't be my absolute first choice the next time I'm craving something similar. Still, if you're looking for a convenient, no-fuss spot with friendly service and consistently okay-to-good food, The Orient is worth considering.
