I'm usually the type of person who buys everything online or on Amazon because it's just easier. About a year and a half ago, I stopped by Best Buy Mission Valley just to look at TVs before finding the best deal online. Instead, I found the TV I wanted, received great service, and decided to purchase in-store and buy the Best Buy Protection plan for my $4,500+ TV. Fast forward 18 months, and the screen developed some unusual wear. It didn't affect the picture, but it was noticeable on dark scenes. I figured I'd see what Best Buy had to say. From start to finish, the experience was incredible: Justin in Geek Squad genuinely cared about helping me and made the process easy. Carla, the Geek Squad technician, was knowledgeable, professional, and confirmed the issue was covered. Within hours, my claim was approved. I then worked with Stephen from the Audio/Video team, who went above and beyond to find the replacement TV I wanted, even though it wasn't in stock. Ryan, the Assistant Store Manager, also took the time to answer my questions and made sure everything was taken care of. Great teams are built from the top, down and it shows. In the end, I received the newer model of my TV and even got about $500 back in store credit because of the price difference. I honestly couldn't be more impressed. This experience has truly changed my opinion of buying big-ticket electronics in-store. I'll absolutely be purchasing them from Best Buy going forward, and I'll always add the Protection plan. If it was possible to leave a less than one star review I would, but unfortunately Yelp doesn't allow that. I had an absolutely nightmarish experience regarding the delivery, and installation/haul-away of a refrigerator. I had originally scheduled the delivery of a new fridge on a Monday between 11-3, not a big deal seeing as the fridge was purchased on a Friday. Well, needless to say that didn't work out at all. Why you ask? Well, it starts with BestBuy contracting w/local non-affiliated delivery companies. Delivery drivers and companies that have zero fcuks to give. So much so that they fail to call regarding arrival, follow delivery instructions, or barely make an effort to attempt to make contact with a human being. Then they bail. Forget trying to get ahold of a human when you call customer service b/c it doesn't exist. Everything gets routed thru a queue, a chat agent, or an automated text bot. When you finally get a response it's nothing more than a bunch of canned excuses and a reschedule for delivery 2x days later, including another delivery window, this time it's 3-7. Come on. Well, now it's Wednesday and now I'm all about bubble stalking the delivery driver thru BestBuy's delivery web tracker, a small win if you can call it that. This time the driver actually calls and arrives on time. But that's where the good ends. The delivery clowns ask to enter the building and come and eye fcuk the old fridge. At first the main guy balks at the size of the current fridge and has size concerns about removing it and putting the new one in and has to call dispatch or whoever his taskmaster is. Now I'm starting to get a case of the ass. He comes back in and says he can't remove the old fridge. WTF?! Ok, I'll remove it and they can take it. Nope. All they can do is leave the new one. Again, WTF?! I paid for delivery/installation/haul away. They call dispatch again, I'm getting madder. They now say Geek Squad has to come and finish the installation and haul the old fridge away. Umm... a total lie/fabrication. Then they just bail. Well, now it's all about trying to contact customer service again for someone else to come out and un-ass their grand fcuk up. Unbelievable!!! Now I have to wait until Friday where some asshat from BestBuy will show up between 7-7 and fix this clusterfcuk of a gigantic mess. Long story short, don't shop at BestBuy!!! The company plainly doesn't care about customer service anymore. Terrible value for your money. Save it and go to a smaller retailer or a mom and pop shop. P.S. I ended up swapping out the old/new fridge myself, including connecting the water for the dispenser/ice maker. Shocking. read more

Not what I expected. I use to go to this Best Buy all the time when I was stationed here. It had all the electrical items I needed in the past and today was shock day. Something I never believed I would see. They got Legos. And not the cheap sets but sets you would find at an actual toy store. I was impressed. After 40 minutes of going throughout their process, I'm told something is wrong with their system and they can't ship it out and that I'd have to go directly through Apple. Dude showed no signs of correcting the situation. This is another good reason why you should cruise in-store rather than online buy. Great customer service experience! I have been looking for a new refrigerator, and I spent much of that time weighing the cost of various brands. My Kenmore Elite has been a great refrigerator, though I can tell one of the doors isn't cooling sufficiently. If you've shopped appliances lately, I am sure you've noticed price increases. Replacing the Kenmore with another brand would save anywhere from $200-$500, so I really had to balance the features of each brand. Today is the last day of the Labor Day sales, so I snapped to attention and headed to Best Buy. Don't use Best Buy! Their customer service is terrible after you leave the store you're cooked. You cannot call the store for any reason you cannot get through all their customer service is offshore and in many different countries .Yesterday I came in to get a power supply for my Microsoft surface. I had my old cord, so I turned it in to be recycled . The salesperson offered me the open box so I bought that one. The sales person did not check the open box and part of what comes in the open box is a cord that goes from the actual charger block to the wall. According to the box, that part should've been included, but it was not in the box. I received a $12 discount on my open box (I paid over $70 for the charger ), but I had no idea that it was not a complete product. I lost an entire night of working on projects with deadlines. When I got home, I had no car available to go back to the store so I called Best Buy at least seven times I received customer service help from Carlos Kimberly, Bob, Nisha and Ruben. Bob was a woman who said she was in Asia. Nisha was a woman who said she was in India ...No one would let me through to the actual store at 5151 Mission Center Rd. to ask for my recycle cord to be recovered or to speak with the manager. I'm very disappointed that there is no customer service with Best Buy after you leave the store. You may not call and get through to the actual store customer service lacking. read more

I purchased a double oven from Pacific Sales. The install was done wrong. I told Pacific Sales about this but they couldn't do anything so they had me contact Best Buy customer support. 2 times now the technician has said they would be ariving at a very specific time and then after that time passes they send a text saying they have to cancel. It's been over a month dealing with Best Buy trying to get the install to be corrected. They also won't allow me to return it, although at this point i feel it would be easier to leave it in their parking lot and purchase a new one from another company. I really do want to keep brick and mortar stores in business. Which is why I try to go to them as much as possible, however, Best Buy and their customer service and the way they treat people after they buy products is making it harder and harder. When Amazon does more to solve problems and take care of you as a customer then Best Buy, then Best Buy is introuble. If they continue to have horrible customer service and horrible company policies when dealing with issues. I dont see why customers would come back here. So in the last 2 months I've bought over $5000 worth of products from appliances to video game sysytems and every single thing I have purchased from them has had a problem or a customer service issue or a delivery issue or an install issue. The people at the stores are nice and friendly when you're buying it and then if an issue pops up, you have to deal with customer service. Their managers become a nightmare when there is an issue and they constantly fall back on the excuse of "our policy" or "this is the way we do it". There's no problem solving. There is no try to make the customer happy because of something we messed up. It's just nope "shrug" you're gonna have to deal with it too bad for you. Itll be quicker to win the lottery than to find employees that are helpful. I asked 3 employees for help. Two went in the back to look in the back room and they never came back to me. The third one was looking on his device and couldn't figure it out. I came on a Saturday around 3pm. It was slightly busy. Didn't look like they had enough staff on the floor. It was pretty clean and organized. I felt like there weren't a ton of signs above the eye sight of someone about 6 feet so I spent a lot of time just walking and hoping to run into the right section. Came for the open box section which was all just laptops and that was disappointed but I did walk away with a Blink camera. Value was pretty decent. So that's why it gets a 3 star. I think the one in Chula is a bit more helpful and carries some more items. read more

Do not pay to be a member of Best Buy rewards program! The benefits are conditional - like earn $20 when you purchase $100 on Barbie or Hot Wheels or earn $20 when you purchase $100 in restaurant gift cards. I saw that I had $10 in rewards. I used it to purchase a switch game (on line) at this location. My order was canceled and my reward was lost. I went online to their chat and the representative told me the reward would be reinstated within 3 business days. I revisited the chat on after 5 days - today's representative told me because of the type of reward, they cannot reinstate it as it was redeemed. So...I redeemed my $10 reward for an order that the store canceled. Doesn't make any sense. By the way, my sister doesn't have a membership, but she receives rewards on a regular basis. This is the first one I've received after being a member for over a year. I canceled my membership. The representative warned me that I would lose all benefits and rewards valued at $110. Since I will not purchase Hot Wheels or Barbie or restaurant gift cards, I elected to proceed in canceling my membership - there were no actual rewards, just conditional money back on items I would not consider buying at Best Buy (restaurant gift cards?). read more

Alex the female attendant at the register with the hand written name tag was an extremely rude person. I think you need more people that reflect the good nature of best buy. Would definitely recommend asking for anyone else at the register as she didn't know how to check stock appropriately and immediately was dismissive of any questions! Avoid her! I had one of the worst customer service experiences at Best Buy today in the PC section. Kyle was dismissive, unhelpful, and acted like I was wasting his time for even asking basic questions. Instead of listening or trying to guide me toward what I needed, he brushed me off and walked away without helping me didn't solve anything. For a department that's supposed to be about support and expertise, this was a complete letdown. If you're shopping here, don't expect any real help--especially from Kyle. TERRIBLE service! We've purchased many major items from BB and have had Geek Squad contracts for many years. Called Online tech support this AM re: comp. keyboard not working. After trying several suggestions without success, I was told to bring desktop to the BB store for help. The "agent" told me said the store opened at 8 AM. At about 8:30 I arrived at Carmel Mtn. BB and learned that it opened at 10. Back home and then returned after 10 AM to find out that WITHOUT NOTIFICATION, the store was closing down. No repairs done, no home appointments, no help at all. Serene, Tyson, John, Drios (Adrian). The worst employees ever. Deserve to be fired by the way they treat the customers, and the way they carelessly use their job as a high school hangout session. They all talk during work, are unorganized when handling people's money, frequent in making mistakes with products, and probably some of the most immature and disrespectful behavior I've ever seen an employee have. If they didn't work here, this store would 100% be in perfect shape. The employees who work here need to be carefully evaluated by the manager immediately. Serene, a heavier girl, and her coworkers as named above, decided to try and tell us incorrect information regarding a mess up they did with our product. ( this was a product upwards of $900. There should be absolutely no problems or issues when purchasing things of this cost). Yet they played with our money in our face and gave us incorrect products.
