Ordered delivery - a solid choice, would order again! The two of us got a whole chicken, fried rice with chicken, maduro (fried sweet plantain) and fried yuca. Our order arrived piping hot, and in less than 45 minutes. The chicken was spiced really nicely - I can see what a prior reviewer said about a cinnamony aftertaste, but I thought that it was delicious with the maduro. I don't even usually like maduro, but these were maybe the best I've ever had. The yuca arrived perfectly crispy and stayed that way until the end of the meal. The fried rice really hit the spot - exactly what I was craving. The only complaint is that we ordered extra green sauce on seamless, but only appeared to have received a regular amount (two small containers for two mains). I can't attest to anything else on the menu, and the stories of arbitrary price changes don't encourage me to order delivery from here. That said, as a long time Pio Pio Riko eater, I have to say the Rotisserie Chicken here is much juicier. The flavor is outstanding. However, Pio Pio makes up for that with superior chile sauce, so it's kind of a wash for me. This place seems very YMMV, and for most other things, dining in especially, Pio Pio is superior for me. read more

My go to place for Peruvian food. This is the best Peruvian food in the neighborhood probably in Queens. The service was great. Our waiter Josue was amazing, he knows his stuff. I told him what kind of wine I like and he brought out two glasses of wine and let me try them before buying. I recommend the tostones, ceviche mixto and lomo. We stopped by this place trying to have some Thai food next door but since that place had a BDRDrating we stepped back and saw this charming Peruvian Bistro. From the outside look very very inviting. We took a look at the lunch special menu and were pleasantly surprised at the free glass of wine included with the lunches. We order the Aguadito soup and skirt steak and you can easily taste the home made soup and properly cooked meat to perfection. Magdalena was our daytime server and she definitely knows how to make you feel at home. So the combination of freshly prepared food, beautiful ambience decorated with wines everywhere and excelent service by Magda makes this place a definite keeper if you are in the Sunnyside área. I like the food as is is the best Peruvian restaurant in this area. Their tallarin verde is great and their pollo saltado is delicious. jalea is also a great dish to share with hungry friends instead of an appetizer. Now to the BAD -Chicken is horrible with a cinnamon after taste. -Also tamales are SMALL very small. In Peru tamales are huge. I know taste matter most, but when you get a frozen parties that are half as good then it leaves room to improve on it...specially when they forget to defrost it properly... I just want to add, this is 3rd time here and all 3 times the food was delicious. They are clean and the staff is very pleasant. I highly recommend it. Not everyone sees this cute spot and it's a shame because they are really nice here. The name has changed to Bistro Punta Sal. Defenetely will come back. read more

I can't believe how upset I am right now. I decided to order from this place because lately I've been craving a tres leches cake. My usual spot ran out, so I decided to give this place a try. I ordered two tres leches cakes and their 1/4 chicken meal. The chicken had this weird taste to it; I'm not sure if it was the seasoning or the chicken itself but something was waaaay off. The tres leches cake was horrendous. How in the world does a cake that uses three kinds of milk, still taste dry??? Both cakes were disgustingly dry, overly sweet, and bland in flavor. I can't believe I wasted $20 on that meal. I couldn't even finish it. I might actually call the restaurant and demand a refund. I've never been so disappointed by a meal in my entire life. read more

Having lived in the area for a while in the past it was nice to see this place looking all modern with their renovation and their menu sounded appetizing. They have an open store-front which looks really nice and I was optimistic about our meal. Enjoyed the hot sauce served with the plantain chips and dried corn (?) to munch on pre-meal. I ordered the arroz con pollo as it sounded like a basic dish that would be hard to mess up but the chicken in the dish was the driest chicken I've ever been served. Since it's a local small restaurant I chose not to complain & send the meal back, so I ate some of it begrudgingly. I loved the side of plantains that I ordered so that alone would get five stars. Although I didn't send back the meal, I told two separate servers/maybe one owner(?) after the meal that my chicken was dry when they asked how our meal was. I got no reaction from either of them nor remedy. I can only assume that they did not understand my comment as there was some difficulty in communication when ordering. I took home leftovers hoping it would somehow taste better the 2nd day but that wasn't the case and ended throwing most of it away. My friend ordered the yellow rice with seafood and the rice itself was pretty flavorful, like paella minus the chicken/sausage. She enjoyed it but my review is based on my meal. Didn't order dessert b/c I was so disappointed in my entree. I had made a fuss about wanting to eat out that night so understandably I was miffed that I didn't get to enjoy my dinner. My feedback for the restaurant would be to not overcook the chicken in that dish and strategize how to remedy the situation when a customer expresses dissatisfaction with their meal. Well, to start, I just told the delivery guy to take the food back. So I'm looking for a way to post ZERO stars because where I come from, you get stars for being good. The food is pretty good here. I've ordered from them a bunch of times. The food isn't overwhelming, but it's solid. The prices, however, are anything BUT solid. In fact, they seem to change every time I order! The delivery guy just showed up and, to my surprise, the price wasn't $25.50 plus tax (total: $27.75); it was 35.15! So I called them to see what had happened. I was told these were "the new prices, do I have the new menu?" No, I have the menu you gave me last time, you know, when I called and ordered and the prices were all different but we ordered anyway... two months ago. Oh, no "we have a new menu and these are the prices." Really? It's 30% more? "But we've had this menu for 8 months." No you haven't. I just got it from you two months ago, when I asked for one because mine was "the old one," but even if it was 8 months old, you raised your prices 30%??? Ok. Did the guy bring your new menu then so I can see? No. He didn't. I don't believe the prices changed twice THIS YEAR. Interestingly, the last time (when they brought the "new" menu for me) the reason we asked about the prices and the menu is that friends who were over for dinner had JUST HAD a problem with this place, jacking up the prices to some arbitrary prices that didn't seem to be written anywhere, and then told the menu they had was the "old" one. Like I said, the food's pretty good, but it's certainly hasn't gotten 40% better this year. It's too bad they have started ripping people off. read more

If this restaurant was a movie it would be called 50 Shades of Stupid. The staff isn't very smart or accommodating and the food is ok if it ever arrives. Unfortunately, if a place burns me twice, I am unwilling to give it a third try. Both times I ordered through seamless it takes over an hour and a half. this time I called after I waited that long only for them to tell me the order was not received when seamless says they absolutely confirmed it on there side. DON'T ORDER FROM HERE!!!  The only reason I gave this place one star is that I can't choose zero starts.  If I could, I would!!  I used to be a regular customer of this restaurant.  I took family, co-workers, and friends to this restaurant.  Today, I made the mistake of ordering on the phone for pick-up.  I looked at the menu online and decided to order Lomo Saltado with chicken (online menu had Lomo Saltado as the same option for both steak and chicken, and when I click on Lomo Saltado it asks me to pick steak or chicken).  I called (because I wanted the lunch special which I couldn't find online) and gave my Lomo Saltado with chicken order.  Apparently they did not hear the chicken specification and the waitress who took the order assumed that I ordered stead, and did not ask to specify.  I go pick up the order (without checking it - my mistake).  When I come back to my office hungry and ready to eat, I find that they gave me steak instead of chicken.  I call for them to correct the mistake and send me a chicken dish instead, and that's when it got from bad to worse.  The waitress went to talk to a manager and came back to say they can't replace it and hung up on me.  I called back and asked to speak to the manager, but she then said it was just her and there was no one else to speak to about this situation.  I then again tried to explain that online, the Lomo Saltado dish was for both steak and chicken, that I specified chicken, but even if I didn't, she should have asked me because Lomo Saltado can come in two ways, but she (and whoever she was talking to in the background) was not having it.  I even explained that I can't eat the steak they gave me, that they're sacrificing a lot of business from me and people I refer, they still did not care and did not offer any solutions or alternatives.  They wasted my time and my money and showed horrible customer service.  NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN!!  STAY AWAY, ESPECIALLY FROM PICK-UP ORDERS!!!!! read more

First time here, a small spot tuck away in the middle of the block with some outdoor seating. It's a Peruvian spot, the front door opens up wide, so there is a open air feeling to it. The price of food is good, I had a quarter chick breast with two beef ribs and side salad for less then $20 bucks. They have some fish specials as well a few meat selections. They have some wine selection all from Peru. Over all I really enjoyed the feel of the place and the food was good, I will definitely be back again. read more

The two stars are for the food, everything else literally sucks ..... Went there with my girlfriend to have a quick lunch before heading to work. We had the carne encebollada was pretty good and also papa a la huancaina, cauza de atun and the tallarin verde with meat .... We ate everything but when the bill came we noticed that the waitress had included the tax already to the price of the dish which is pretty weird, ive been in many restaurants and they never never do that ....... So the dish that on the menu was 15.95 $ now was 17.95 $. On top of that she added the tip on the check and put it next to the tax to make us believe that that was only the tax but wrong that was the tip included and didnt even told us that it was included, i couldve been an ass and not tip her but im in the business as well so i left it like that ...... I have never written a review of a restaurant that was based on the service and not the food, but I am breaking my rule for this place. I want to warn people against ordering delivery from this restaurant. The wait is much longer than anticipated and the customer service is completely sub par. I place an order for delivery and received an estimated wait time of 30 mins. At the 1 hour mark, my bf called the restaurant to check on the status and was told that the delivery man left with our order. When the food didn't come in another 15 minutes, I called back to double check. Again, I was told that the delivery person had already left. I made sure to confirm my order with restaurant then asked how long ago he left and when I should expect my food. At that point, I was told that he left 5 minutes ago and will get here in 15-20 minutes. I understand if you are busy, but you need to be honest to your customers. I asked again if she is SURE that the delivery man has already left, and she responded with, do you want to cancel your order, which makes me think that my order hasn't been fulfilled. Feeling doubtful that my food will get here in 20 minutes (or ever), I said yes to cancel, but then was told that I need to contact Seamless directly. The next thing I heard was the click sound of being hung up on. Being busy is not a reason to be dismissive and untruthful to your customers. Such a disappointment! read more

We waited almost two hours for our food and it was tasteless. I ordered the 1/4. Chicken with 2 ribs. The ribs were the tiniest things I ever seen. I asked for white meat and got dark meat, which I hate. They are super cheap with the green sauce. At least put an option to buy more if your gonna be so cheap. French fries. Yuck. tl;dr: Avoid at all costs, much better Peruvian restaurants nearby, pick any one at all, and I promise it will be a better experience than this place. I have no idea what happened to this restaurant. It used to have a wonderful atmosphere, delicious food and inviting service. Not sure whether management changed or current management doesn't care about running a good local business. At the moment, service is not just lackluster but don't seem to know what's going on. Noticed that alcohol was being served to already very intoxicated women, caring for a child. Not only were items not available when ordered take out but took over 40 minutes to prepare, at which point I decided to give up on the order entirely. Service staff had no idea what was going on with orders. The dimly lit, warm atmosphere has been replaced by a more open space which would be a welcome change if the restaurant was a nice to hang out at. Random guitarist walks in off the street and sings for money. It's not an inviting place, food is non existing and staff are confused. Only after complaining does the chef or manager make an appearance. Terrible offerings, terrible service, terrible management, terrible management (yes, am repeating because it was really terrible). Avoid this place, there are much better Peruvian restaurants in all directions within a few blocks of this place, there's no reason to waste your time, energy or money at this establishment. read more
