Food service is horrible. Our guest had to ask for eating utensils. When my wife and I asked for the same, instead of getting cloth table napkins like everyone else, the water slapped down a pile of brown recycled paper towels from the restroom. We visited on a Saturday night and checked in online ahead of time. No wait upon arrival and were immediately seated once we went to the host stand when we got there. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. Our waitress was really nice!! We ordered the ahi poke appetizer and it was pretty good, but the tuna didn't seem as fresh as some other places but the flavor etc was all still fine, it just didn't look that good I ordered the 8oz filet mignon w starter salad and mashed potatoes. the steak was cooked perfectly (rare- like just show it to the grill rare, yum) but it was incredibly salty/over seasoned. BJs has been in this area for about 20 years. I've never been. Until today. Recently one of my credit card points redemption choices was BJs so I bit. After reviewing it I realized I should have checked the Yelp ratings first. Sure enough, things are choppy in the Yelpasphere for BJz Brew House . I looked at the three locations within striking distance of my house. They all appeared equally mixed. So,what the heck,never been,give it a try. Tonight we went and upon entering the place is big. However,it seems impersonal or outdated..can't put my finger on it. The menu seems to be trying to appeal to all people and taste. It kinda feels like if TGI Fridays and Cheesecake factory had a baby. Without going into detail I'll just bottom line it. First, I want you to succeed, but you have to do better. I've never thrown away food after one bite. I was served up a Facebook ad that your large pizzas were 50% off so decided to try. Bought 2 of them, and asked to be cooked well done. -Verdict: Awful. Both undercooked, and both were so soggy as if someone ran it under a tap. Dough was like wet bread. It was that soggy. My kids refused to eat it after one bite. Two large pizzas ended up in Tuesday's garbage pick up. 2-stars only bc the curbside server was polite. Wish you the best. read more

It was my dad's birthday we wanted to eat out with the family. We chose BJs because their app allowed a party of 8 to join the waitlist on the app. We joined the wait list at 6:07, at 6:30 we were told it would be 45 minutes, at 7:20 we were told it would be another 30. With two four year olds in our party there was no way we could wait longer and had to leave. So for my dad's birthday we ended up ordering pizza at the house. read more

Made a reservation since it was a Saturday night and was seated right away but unfortunately we waited 10 minutes before anyone even greeted us. We sat watching as several servers walked past as we looked on trying to figure out how long we would sit before we got up and walked out. At exactly 10 minutes, our waiter (one that we had seen pass a few times) comes and quickly says "sorry, I didn't see you here". That's all, as it it was our fault he couldn't see. We ordered drinks and he quickly went away. As soon as they came I realized that A. He didn't even ask what we wanted in our margarita rims (I was already irritated that I forgot to change) and B. They seriously half assed our drinks which came out lukewarm, minimal ice, and no garnish at all (I had just ordered the same drink the day before which came out completely different and was actually good). We ordered appetizers and entrees and asked for our salad to come out with the app. Well a few minutes later, out comes the Salad but not appetizer. We waited at least 5 more minutes for that to arrive. Our food was "ok" but all in all, the experience left a lot to I be desired. The pizookie was the best thing about the night. We had lunch at your on Saturday sitting at the bar. The bartender was kind enough to put my favorite SEC team on the TV. The food was delicious. The service was a little slow at first, but then it got better only because the bartender was having to make drinks for the entire restaurant and it was by himself, but he was super nice super informative told us all about the food and we really had a great afternoon. read more

It's taken us 2 years to return!!! We got the Bjs app so we could take advantage of their "wait list" feature. We earned a free pazookie as a new member, nice promo! We were off to a great start. We returned because we really missed the rootbeer and their deep dish pizza (FYI: they make both in-house). There were many times we visited just for the pazookie, lol. In the past, this is what brought us in every time. Maybe .. this will be part of our top ten dining out list, again. Our waiter was excellent. The pizza was delicious! The pazookie was gone in four bites. Social distancing is enforced, staff & guests willingly wearing face masks, and the overall BJs vibe lives on. It was a lovely evening out during a world wide pandemic. Why Four Stars? NONE of the QR codes worked. LoL, really? We tried six tables. None of them were readable from 4 different phones. We reverted to ordering what we knew from memory. At the end of the day, management needs to check these QR codes. If the codes aren't working, replace the damaged stickers!!! Its the right thing to do if you're not going to use menus. read more

Hi! Teenage girl here who totally gets that some teens can be shitty and not tip! I am not one of those teenagers. I am completely ready and willing to tip 20% on a bill, however not this time. Kaitlyn V, super cute girl, literally made eye contact with me several times before running away basically From seating to paying we were there for about an hour and a half. I'm a fast eater and I just wanted a lil pizookie to finish off my meal. Queen would not deliver the damn pizookie though. Did not get refills, silverware was dirty, server AVOIDED US, and from when she set our entrees down to when she actually got to us about desert was almost 45 minutes. She also stuck her hand in my ranch and then proceeded to apologize and set it on the table anyways. Not even really a fan of BJS, especially with this horrible service and expensive food. We came here for dinner with high hopes, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. Our group ordered several of the pricier items on the menu, and not only was the food underwhelming, but one of my friends actually found a piece of wire in her shrimp scampi. When we brought it to the manager's attention, her reaction felt dismissive--even though the item was removed from the bill, it didn't seem like the situation was taken seriously. On top of that, we had to ask multiple times just to get waters and basic condiments. Overall, the service was lacking and the food wasn't worth the price. read more

We were seated immediately, front staff was friendly. Waiter was struggling. He kept telling us he was running all over the place.....didn't ask ‍ he was acting as if he was swamped and couldn't keep up, but I think he only had a couple tables. Food was fair. We had the avocado eggrolls and jambalaya with a wedge salad. The salad was my favorite part. Ordered wine...didn't have it. Ordered another. Someone ordered a beer...didn't have it. I hate going to a place when I order something they are out. I understand events and packed places, but they weren't. It's also around a holiday break for a lot of people and in my opinion they should be fully stocked. Place was fairly quiet. Didn't really hear other tables or music for that matter. Just left the restaurant. Just a horrible service experience. We put our names on the waiting list online beforehand and were seated immediately. Then, the waiting began. After around 20 minutes with no waitstaff showing up to our table (and the staff who were in the area not even making eye contact with us to see we hadn't been helped), my wife went up to the front desk to ask them to send us a waiter. They then sent someone from the other side of the restaurant because apparently the ones on the side where we were sitting were too busy, even though our side was only about half full. It was good that they sent someone even if it meant that we would scarcely see him the rest of the night since he didn't work in our area. We got our appetizers fairly quickly, which is good because there was another long wait for our actual food to arrive. We never actually got plates upon which to eat the appetizers, nor did they ever clear the appetizer trays when we finished them, but we were happy to have something. When our food finally arrived, our youngest daughter's order was wrong. We didn't say anything because we didn't want to have to wait for them to get it right. They also knocked over our middle daughter's drink when handing her food to her. They said they'd send someone to clean it up, but didn't. I had to flag someone down. They also never refilled her drink (or anyone else's for that matter) until we flagged down another person. No one ever checked on us at all. Then we had to wait again to get our check. We were quite literally getting up to leave when they finally brought the check. $175 before tip for four, including two teens. That's a lot of money to pay for mediocre food and lousy service. I've been wanting to try this chain for a while since we didn't have any of these back in Chicago at the time and I finally got around to it. The reason this place gets a three stars is because the service was stellar and the Pizookie I had at the end of it all was absolutely amazing. I ordered the deep dish pizza and the pasta. As a native Chicagoan, this was not a deep dish pizza. This was just a pan pizza. So if you're going here for a deep dish pizza, this isn't it. It's a normal pan pizza. The pasta was pretty average, about something I'd be able to find and order at any local Pizza Hut. Now that I mention it, their pan pizza tastes and feels somewhere around the same department as Pizza Hut's pan pizza as well. I would definitely rename or find a new recipe for your deep dish pizza, since it's absolutely not deep dish pizza in the slightest. However, as I said, the star of the show was definitely the Pizookie. It was so crunchy on the outside, creamy and gushy on the inside. Very warm as well. read more

We had a great time at this restaurant and found the service attentive and courteous. Alisha was a pleasure to get to know. Two of us had the prime rib weekend special. At $32 for a three course meal, that's a good bargain. Everything was very tasty, particularly the sirrache brussel sprouts. My only complaint is that you should be asked if the "end cap" prime rib cut would be okay. BJ's is basically Applebees with more beer options. You don't go here for good food, you go here for a drink and a large menu hoping to please everyone wanting different things, or because you were at the AEC and just didn't want to try to find anything better. BJ's used to have a huge menu, but they've been chopping down their menu since Covid and I don't think they've really ever recovered. On top of that, this particular location has always been weaker than other locations. BJ's is a pretty decent option for people with kids. The kids menu is larger than most with more side options, including a pretty reasonable side of berries. Something I've seen OTHER BJ's do, that this location does not, is bring kids a "snack" as soon as they sit down (of fruit and a roll). Not sure why this location doesn't do this when others do, but even without it..still a reasonable kids option. For the picky children out there, just be aware that they put tomatoes on top of all the kids pizzas for some strange reason, so you might want to leave that off since the average kid isn't expecting that. They've taken a bunch of stuff off the menu and it's now just a simple front and back menu. I wish they'd bring back the potato skins, but the spinach artichoke dip is solid. Pretty pricy for what tastes similar to the Trader Joes frozen version, but a decent 3/5 appetizer. I recently tried their wings and they were quite good. Suprisingly so...I'd recommend trying the lemon pepper sesame dry rub wings. I didn't care for their traditional buffalo flavor but really liked the lemon pep and that's now my go-to order. The ranch isn't great but you can only expect so much from applebjs. Another 3/5 option is their breaded chicken with the lemon sauce and cheddar mashed potatoes. Safe option if you don't want pizza. As far as pizza goes...I know it's what they are supposedly "known" for, but I've never found it to be very good, so I wouldn't recommend it. Food: 2.5/5 Price: 1/5 - I think they were charging almost $9 for chips/salsa/guac which is hilarious. Their prices don't reflect the food quality AT ALL. Service: 2/5 - When we sit down, there are now several waiters that we hope we don't get. We never go when it's busy so I'm not sure why they're always so inattentive. Their loss, we tip well for even standard service. Ambiance: 3/5 - Pretty standard chain restaurant, a bit dark, some TVs, lots of booths. Pretty large inside, no complaints. Note to management - There is something terribly wrong with your soda machines. The syrup to carbonated water ratio is WAY off. To the point where I almost can't drink it...and since Pepsi is my favorite soda and you're one of the few places that actually serves Pepsi, trust me when I say, SERVICE YOUR MACHINES. read more

It was... Fine, I guess. I haven't been to a BJ's in something like a decade, and was really looking forward to it. Then we arrived and found a menu approximately eight hundred pages long. Look, I know this isn't true in all cases, but it is sadly true for most: a really big menu means really low quality. The reasons are simple. One cannot keep that amount of food fresh at all times; the cost of waste would be unbearable. That means things are frozen, and ingredients are chosen for low cost instead of high quality. Sadly, it was true tonight. It wasn't the worst meal ever, but it wasn't great. The calimari was rubbery, the pizza was cheap cheese and chewy dough with *spiced tomatoes" that were so old they had no moisture left, and the house-made root beer was flat. In a pinch, edible, but with so many other good choices, we likely won't be coming back. read more

Yesterday, we were going to go to our usual place, 54th street bar but decided to go to BJs in allen which turned out to be a bad decision. Their food was tasting freezer and the waitress assigned to our table provided one of the worse services I have had in my life. My Family and I have been coming here for years the food is always amazing but this review has nothing to do with the food, it's about corporates poor choice in hiring management staff. I'm not sure what type of screening they have to go through but how the Hell did Hailey make it on the management team. Like I stated my family and I always dine here and have never had an issue until now. I requested to speak to a manager because I had ordered the salmon(which is usually delicious) but this time something was just off about it. When I told the manager Hailey that my salmon had a really fishy taste to it, almost rancid she looked at me and said "Well it's fish soo??" As if I was stupid for even saying anything. She never offered to get it replaced and just had an awful attitude, i also heard her speaking to her staff in a condescending tone & i feel bad they have to work with her. Hello, BJ's was one of my favorite restaurants until yesterday. We had the worst experience yesterday at BJ's. We were a group of 15, and after being seated, no server was assigned to our table. We waited almost 20 minutes with hungry kids before my husband and a friend stood up and asked at the front what was going on. They said they were sending someone over. Another 10-15 minutes passed with no one showing up. We then asked for the manager, who said she would send someone over. During this entire time, they didn't even offer us water or anything else. After waiting for nearly 45 minutes with hungry kids, at 9 PM, we decided to leave the restaurant, and they didn't seem to care at all. As we were leaving, they just cleaned up the table behind us without even apologizing. The staff was so rude. Many staff members passed by our table, but no one wanted to help. If there was a zero-star option for reviews, I would give it to this BJ's restaurant in Allen, TX 75013. read more
