We had not been to BJs in quite awhile but I wanted deep dish pizza. When it arrived it is not pizza at all but bread, no flavor, very little topping, disgusting. Today me and my Wife went to happy hour as we have since 2005 when we moved down the street from this location. Today when we recieved our bill, instead of the usual $7 for a 22oz beer we were charge $9.99 each for 3 beers. Told the waitress who was nothing short of spectacular at her job, 'The 22oz beers were billed at full price of $9.99.' She said 'thats not right' and walked away with the bill. Several minute later the Manager shows up to our table and says sorry but the price is $9.99 for 22oz beers, it's not a discount today. I tell Her we have paid $7 on wednsedays for 22oz beers for several years. She says thats not true as it has never been $7. Why would we order 22oz beer at $10 when we can get a 16oz for $5? Why would you offer the 22oz then and not mention this? Wedensdays have always been $7 for 22oz beers since they started the Wednesday special. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It got a little heated, customers on either side watching, 6 beer brewers standing behind us disucssing the days brew watching, I got loud as I was arguing we have paid $7 in the past.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She informed me the price was always $9.99 and I was wrong. I said what if I could show you a reciept with the $7 22oz beer would she be surprised. She said She would like to see it. Well here it is, if you want more images of previous $7 beers I can provide many more. However, me and my Wife have worked in the service industry and hated what we saw next. The manager walks over to the bar area, maybe 10 feet away from us, and proclaims to the waiters waiting to recieve drinks from the bar 'we do not offer $7 22oz beers'. She wasnt demeaning but I feel that speech should have been done behind scenes. Was infront of customers. We felt bad now for our server who was perfect. The restaurant was clean and inviting. Ian M. was our server. He was very personable and attentive. He was knowledgeable of the menu items. I had Broccoli Cheese soup in a sourdough bowl. It was excellent. It came out nice and hot. We had a couple of free birthday Pizzookies. Ian packed them up for us to take home. This is a great place for locals. We had a pretty good meal here today. Our server was Kirsten, and she did a pretty good job. I think there was a little too much paprika on my jambalaya, and next time I'll just ask for less of it. Worst Bj experience ever . I came here the other night to meet up with my sister-in-law before going to a movie nearby. It was very crowded and lively, and I felt lucky to be able to grab a table in the bar area before she arrived. It happened to be happy hour so we took advantage of it by getting a couple of their $5 Dark Horse Chardonnays and the $7 Avocado Egg Rolls from among the many offerings. From the regular menu we shared the Honey Sriracha Brussels Sprouts (yum! we loved them!) and the Enlightened Seared Ahi Salad (very generous portion). Our server was super friendly and attentive! She made me feel comfortable and welcomed despite waiting for my sister-in-law. And she made sure we had plenty of time to make it to our movie. Let me start off by saying this was a very, very disappointing visit. My wife and I proceeded to sit there for a solid 20 minutes, during these 20 minutes six additional tables were seated around us. They all had their waters taken to them. Some of them placed their orders and some of them received their water and their drink orders and their food orders within that 20 minutes, we sat there waiting for our waitress, our waiter to come take our order. Finally, we got up and went back to the hostess desk and asked the hostess if she could find the manager she asked her a problem and I said yeah we haven't received any service since you saw us and she goes. Oh where did I see you're at and let me tell you we were out in the middle right by where she was standing seating all the other people. She went on to find her manager, which took exactly 11 more minutes because she could not find the manager. When he did show up, clearly, he must've been outside because he came in with sunglasses on his head. He introduced himself he said what can I do for you? I want to explain to him how we sat for 20 minutes and no one waited at us and we waited another 11 minutes to speak to him clearly there's some issues with customer service. He tried to offer us to buy us dinner and try to make it up to us, which was very honorable the sad part about all this is they weren't that busy and there was waitresses and waiters all around us and no one took the time to find out why we were sitting there and not being helped. The top it all off the hostess who is young is just stupid. She's young and dumb and stupid. Clearly BJ's brewhouse needs to do a lot more training with their customer service in the front of house. this was a horrible experience and I will tell you that we'll probably never go back to BJ's brewhouse again. I really can't say anything bad about the food cause we didn't get anything. We didn't even get a glass of water so I will tell you this there are a lot better options in Reno Nevada than BJ's brewhouse. read more

Unfortunately they were out of sandwiches I ordered the chicken club and he said they didn't have it so I said ok I'll have the French dip didn't have that either he said sorry but we are out of sandwiches I'm guessing it was the bread? But if an entire part of your menu is sandwiches that's not great. So I ordered chicken Alfredo not my first choice at all my mom ordered the shrimp appetizer. When they came out my mom's dish looked great! My 24$ chicken Alfredo looked awful. Like they dipped one noodle into the sauce and the stirred it around in the rest of the noodles. It also comes with broccoli IN the pasta who have broccoli in a chicken Alfredo? Menu also said a garlic knot comes with it. I said I'll give them the benefit of the doubt I tasted it and let me tell you it was bland and dry and awful. The chicken was well seasoned I liked that but the pasta was just horrible. The broccoli same thing just bland. Not good the bread knot was just a bread knot no garlic whatsoever. Very disappointed. BJ's can be wildly uneven. Generally, the sports bar food is good - burgers, etc. Service is hit or miss - get a good server and you'll have a good time; get a less good one and you'll spend half your meal looking for them. Ambience is crowded and noisy, but it's a sports bar at heart, so that's to be expected. read more

BJ's is my go-to spot when I don't want to cook but also don't know where to go for dinner. The happy hour menu, which is available in the bar area, has great deals on beer and apps. On Mondays, large pizzas are half off. Pair those two deals together and you have a great meal for two people with leftovers for a great price! Don't forget a pizookie for dessert! My only complaint is that the service, especially in the bar area, is not great. They never have enough servers in the bar area for how many people are seated in the bar area. I normally would understand being short-staffed, but there are usually other employees around the restaurant who aren't busy and this has been happening since I started coming to this location over a year ago. Despite the service issues, BJ's is a great go-to in South Reno, especially when you want to watch a game during dinner! read more

I'd been to this restaurant YEARS before and it was great; not anymore. Lunch on a Saturday was winding down so there was no reason for slow service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Speaking of sticky, the booth was sticky, the table was sticky, the divider wall was sticky and looked like things have been splashed on it for years.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food was okay, just had a bacon burger (they did cook it to my preference). My friend ordered the chicken club, asked for cheese and ranch for her fries. She got no cheese and had to remind the waiter about her ranch. We haven't eaten here in a long time and decided to give the place a try again. We started with the calamari, which was done nicely. The chicken sandwich was good. The kickin sauce was not too hot, pretty flavorful , and the chicken was nice and crispy. The fries were Ok, nothing too exciting. The Hickory Brisket and Bacon Burger was good as well. Both sandwiches were price well for what it was. The service was great, very attentive, filling our drinks quickly and cleaning off the table. We frequently visit BJ's. The food is always good. What my biggest complaint is watching the bartenders come in and never seeing them wash their hands before or during their shift. I have also witnessed them touching their hair and then continuing making drinks and putting garnishes on drinks without gloves. Being from food service industry and knowing what the health department requires this is a NO, NO! Managers should train their staff on cross contamination. Also Bartender should have some type of personality to be selling drinks, when you go in and it seems like you are bothering them, it less appealing! You need spunky entergic people behind the bar to make people want to stay and drink. read more

About a third of the tables looked open but I assume they do not have the staff to accommodate all the guests in line and this was on a Friday night. When we finally did get seated the service was extremely slow and they got our order wrong. So we had to wait even longer for the correct order. The food was alright, but I could tell the quality has gone down. Management needs to get this place back up to the standards it used to have. read more

(The menu said 'white fish'... which could be anything of course.) 15m later: "COD" was the answer. I gave my order, and well it took almost 1 hour to get our food, and damn if it wasn't cod but some kind of trash fish. Cod is firm (and white BTW), this white fish was mixed shades of 'color' and all crumbly-mushy, tasted terrible, and simply fell apart into tiny bits. Cod doesn't do any of that. It tasted like talapia - YUCK! (I feel that's the dirtiest tasting fish known to mankind.) The 'tarter' sauce was perhaps the worst I have ever had in my life (I'm 74)... it was bad. Bland, no zip, no zing, no flavor... was like eating paste or grease. The fish was (SERIOUSLY!) *barely* what you could call 'warm', nowhere near HOT (as expected). The frys were totally cold... not luke, not kind'a warm... limp and COLD. The meal was 100% disgusting. that was the 3rd dinner in a row that my meal sucked. I can only say: OMG, How do they stay in business? I am sorry but I will never trust BJ's again... I was lied to, and, served a cold "hot" meal to boot. The experience was so bad I might never go back. And it will be a ***long*** time before I even think about it. read more

Hubby and I dined in at the bar with Matthew this evening after a relaxing spa date down the street. It's kind of our thing to come here for a brew and a bite! Service at this BJs has always been 10/10. We ordered a hazy Ipa and a nutty brewnette. The nutty brewnette is my new favorite! I usually will order their Porter, followed by an order of the Avocado egg rolls. We had the fried couscous Mac n cheese balls as an appetizer. I love their deep dish pizza, so I decided to order a shareable sweet pig so I can have extra for later. Hubby ordered a tri tip dinner and added a chicken breast. Mathew was great and attentive, and we had a great time watching some preseason football. We ordered our kids two Fettuccine chix alfredos and a Mac n cheese dinner with fruit to-go. There is no room left for pizookies today, but next time. We had another great night here at the Reno Bjs. We'll be back, and thank you for the great service every time we visit this location. So we skipped the appetizer, I wanted ribeye they were out of the ribeye, one of us needed to get a GF meal but they were out of the meal that person wanted. A month ago we had the unfortunate pleasure of visiting BJs Dublin CA! Omg!!!!! The contrast between Dublin CA and here is glaring. First off we were met by a friendly and pleasant host. I know shocker Dublin CA a host that does their job with our entitlement or attitude. Our server was Ashley S. she deserves 100+ stars in her attitude, her personality, hospitality and making the visit amazing! Our main course arrived, the pizza's were small and just ok. My slow roasted sirloin was small and had a nice band of gristle which made the rest of it not palatable. I ate half and had to stop. The included sauce was very good. I asked for a refill for my sprite, later the waitress came by and gave me water instead. We corrected her mistake, and it was after the meal was finished that she brought a new sprite.All in all the meal was less than memorable, except for the less than mediocre food and on again,off again service. Would I go back....absolutely not. Would I recommend it to any friends....absolutely not! This place might be ok for people that like drinking beer, but food, not so much. Ordered the chicken cali club and let me tell you the crunch the flavors o wow!! My daughter is having mini corndogs and loves her food. The corndogs remind me of fair corndogs so delicious. Our group of senior neighbors went for lunch. The menu is huge and all our selections were excellent as was the service. BUT the music was horrible and so loud that we couldn't have a conversation.
