Food quality, preparation, presentation, customer service, service recovery and cleanliness of restrooms has declined through the years. Recently I ordered Filet Mignon well done no pink. It came DOA. My friend looked at it and said it looked like charcoal. I could not cut it with a steak knife. Management informed and a replacement steak was provided. I took it home and refrigerated it immediately. When I went to eat it the next day it smelled horrible. I took one bite. It tasted like old meat. I gagged. $31 down the drain. I wish I can say I was satisfied with this location but it definitely failed. They were a bit busy but aren't most restaurants in LA? Upon sitting, it took well over 12 minutes for anyone to come to our table. We immediately placed our order. It seemed like the waiter had a few sections and a lot of tables. I have not been to Black Angus in years, in fact don't really know of one close to me. I work in Burbank, so our boss suggested this place for our Holiday lunch. They have their own parking lot, so parking was easy. It's also good because we have an array of people with various food restrictions, so there was something for everyone! I got a steak plus green beans and a salad. Food took a while because they were serving a bigger group that got there before us. They were good about refilling our ice tea, but we were starving by the time our food got there. And of course, we shared three mud pies between the group (about 7 of us) so there was a lot leftover. Got a coupon for the steak lobster and shrimp combo. It was amazing for 20 bucks. It looked just like the picture too. Service was fantastic. The restaurant is huge and it wasn't very busy at lunch. Found a deal online for $19.99 and decided to take advantage of it. I appreciate the fact that they have a very big private parking lot. It's just makes life so much easier. We walked in and were seated right away. They have a lot of diverse seating areas: booths, tables and bar seats. We chose a booth. A very lovely waitress came by and took our drink orders. I got the Fireside Mule and we told our waitress about the online deal. It was for a lobster tail, steak, fried shrimp and choice of two sides for $19.99. I chose coleslaw along with gratin potatoes. She said we can use throat deal but we needed to show the coupon to her. So another gentleman approached us and took down the barcode that was on the coupon. Not long after my drink came out along with a loaf of bread with butter. Both delicious. Loved my cocktail. It was refreshing and very good. Our plates came out and they looked amazing. I loved the shrimp and the steak. The lobster tail was good but a tad bit over cooked but still delicious. My side dishes were the perfect additions. Came for dinner with my family. We were just about finished with our meal when my sister gasped...I turned around and jumped out of my seat(there was a cockroach making its way up the seat cushion. I told our waitress there was a cockroach so she ran off to get a manager. While we waited, we spotted another one on the floor (see picture).A few minutes went by and the manager comes back with a discounted check (from $193 to $158) and apologized. He said they had this problem yesterday but they only found a couple and that they were exterminating tomorrow. He told me that cockroaches wouldn't make me sick and that all restaurants have infestations. They actually CAN make you sick but I'm not one to argue or cause scenes. I told him that I didn't think it was okay that they took a small portion off the bill and that they had customers sitting in booths next to us dining knowing they have an infestation. Cockroaches carry bacteria that can cause food poisoning,diarrhea, and Staphylococcus. I was caught off guard when he asked what I was willing to pay. I told him I only wanted to tip my waitress and that was it and he seemed bothered, so I ended paying ~50% of the bill ($100 which included a $20 tip). I could have caused a scene and made a big commotion but that's not my style. We even left the chocolate chip cookie that they had packed up to go as we were grossed out. This location is not safe! The parking lot is between an exit and an entrance to the freeway. I ate there yesterday, the food was fine, the manager came in to tell me my car was broken into. Both the manager and the police officer taking my report, said that it happens all the time. They know they have a problem and yet there is no parking security and no cameras outside. Don't risk it. Hadn't dined in at this Black Angus since a while before Covid, and returning for the campfire feast, it was a lot of fun. Everything was a big hit (I think the biggest was the spinach dip in the skillet - conversation pretty much stopped when that was out) and while we knew it would be a lot of food it was good enough to share and pass around. The kids menu also has some favorites that are particular to the regular menu. I also suggest signing up for their Prime Club: you receive coupons and you also find out about new menu additions & specials. I'd also like to share that they know how to cook the steaks to your exact request: so often I get undercooked steak at places that I'd have to say I wanted it cooked longer just to be "right" but here it was right on the money. Our meat was nicely cooked, for the amount they charge, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality! We also enjoyed their warm, sweet molasses complementary bread. Sadly, their seasonal premium kale salad (they sprinkle so much cheese and it was drenched with dressing), au gratin potatoes and the appetizer -fried zucchini were all too salty and heavy. Also the restaurant was not busy yet service was VERY slow. It took us more than 40 min to get our food. It also took us very long to get the things we requested (extra plates, drink refills and napkins etc..). Since our waitress took so long, we ended up asking the busboy (the only person I saw at this restaurant who moves quickly gets work done right away). He was super helpful and fast! If I had a restaurant, I would recruit him to work for me, he was that good! It was our first time at Black Angus and sadly it was not a memorable experience. I ordered the prime rib dinner for 1, and although it was a lot of food, none of that matters if it all tasted horrible. I'm a chef (and have been for almost 20 years)... I KNOW when someone is trying to put lipstick on a Pig and that's exactly what happens here. Prime rib was all grissely and WAY over seasoned, which leads me to believe they are buying low quality meat or worse - sending out expired food. The "garden" salad was just wilted greens and croutons, the potato skins tasted like burnt dirt (as if they hadn't washed the potatoes before cooking them), and zero "stuffing" inside. The bread was good but stale. The only thing I liked was the cheesecake, but Black Angus doesn't make their desserts in-house; they buy then from a 3rd party distributor. It's trash food and an expensive mistake. If I had been dining inside I would have sent it all back. But my guess is they send their crappy old/expired food to the people that order delivery. Just finished watching a new movie at amc and decided to come to black angus. There was a 8 of us and we were hungry. Once we were seated our server came over with high energy and friendly manner to take our order. She was fast, friendly and super engaged in making sure we had a great time. This meal was a classic case of "you get what you pay for". It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. I came here to use a coupon they've been advertising all over the place for a $9.50 lunch. I remember eating here years ago and having a decent meal, but that was for dinner. At lunch, there is a more limited menu, especially when using a coupon. The service was quite good! The host was assisting with a to-go order and was very apologetic that she could not seat me immediately. The server was pleasant and knew the menu very well. I asked him what he recommended and he suggested the Top Sirloin or the Salmon. Being that it is a steakhouse, I went with the steak. It came with two sides so I chose a garden salad and a loaded potato. The salad was basic, but fresh. The dressing seemed homemade which is always a nice touch. The house bread was dry though. It had obviously been sitting in a bread drawer, so after a few minutes at room temperature it became hard on the outside. The entree arrived and the steak was pretty small. The potato was loaded as described with butter, sour cream, cheese bacon bits and green onions. I sliced into the steak...and sliced...and sliced! Tender is NOT a word I would use for this steak. Granted it had a wonderful char on the outside and it was cooked to a perfect medium rare, but I'm still chewing on it as I write. I tried slicing in a different direction with no difference. Ugh! I was not expecting a filet mug on, but come on!! This thing was practically inedible. I shouldn't be surprised. What do you expect for that price. Will I be returning? Not likely. Despite the price, I expected more from a place that advertises itself as a "steakhouse". read more

This was our first time at Black Angus in Burbank. The one in Monrovia closed. So this is our closest one. We came to redeem my birthday entree. My husband and I had the same thought and we each got a top sirloin steak. As sides I got the broccoli and mashed potatoes. My hubby got the scallop potatoes and mac and cheese. The mac and scallop potatoes looked the same, but he said they were yummy. The food was great overall. The service was great as well. Also, they gave me a cowboy birthday cookie for dessert with ice cream. Let me say again it was free and it was given to me for my birthday. I'm just hoping that if I actually payed for it, it would be more filling. There just wasn't much of the cookie, I expected it to be thicker, like the ones at BJs. But overall great food and great service. We will definitely try to make the trek to Burbank again. They close early, 9pm, we made our reservation on OpenTable for 8:30pm. My recollection of Black Angus from childhood was destroyed by my visit to the Burbank location. The best part of my visit was the proximity to the Hotel Burbank, nice being able to walk to dinner. Both food and service were disappointing. I ordered a steak and cocktail pairing meal for $45. Our server may have been new as she had to check with her manager about almost everything. Strike one was when she reported back her manager refused our requests to substitute a side dish from my friend's meal and the dessert from my meal. All the while they were tripping over themselves at the next table, friends of the server, telling them they were "Black Angus royalty" and bringing them extras. First of three cocktails arrived in a timely manner and was ok, a bit sweet but acceptable. Appetizer seemed like something from Costco freezer section. Then a long wait, steak arrived, looked pathetic. Maybe 3oz, side dishes were gross, Brussels sprouts were mushy and unpleasant, mashed potatoes were dry and lukewarm. 2nd cocktail still hadn't arrived. After a long period of not seeing our server she finally stopped by and I asked about the drink. She said she'd get it and disappeared for another 7-10 minutes. When she reappeared and asked how things were I mentioned I still hadn't received the 2nd cocktail. She left to the bar and quickly returned with the wrong drink. It was supposed to be an old fashioned (bourbon drink) but was some sort of vodka drink. Again, long time, no server, she finally returned and I mentioned it wasn't the correct drink. She basically said "oh" but made no attempt at correcting it. It was a very long period before she brought my unwanted dessert (I don't care for carrot cake, asked and was denied a substitute, equally priced dessert) she also brought the final cocktail, a chocolate espresso martini. It was decent but I was feeling annoyed that they refused to substitute my dessert and my friend's side dish but DID substitute the cocktail without apology nor correction. The final straw was when the bill arrived and I discovered I was charged for each cocktail separately bringing my $45 meal to nearly $70. The server took the bill away, talked with her manager (who never stopped by the table) and eventually brought the corrected bill.
